I used to wear something similar to this only in an all silver tube, it was my HG mascara. For some dumb reason Almay discontinued making the silver tube one (which was perfect) and replaced it with this. It was at the same time they changed all their eye makeup displays to emphasize certain eye colors - I moved on and didn't look back. After a bout with Cover Girl mascara, I recently found myself at the Walgreens Wall O Makeup, totally unsatisfied in the mascara area. The watery Maybelline mascara I bought last week wasn't cutting it (I have given Maybelline their last chance - blech) and I remembered my trusty Almay from back in the day.

Ahem, love the One Coat "creamy formulation" not really seeing the curl, like everyone else. I have resigned myself to the fact that nothing short of lightening striking me is going to curl my lashes, I just live w/ it. It does darken, lengthen and thicken without too much effort. The brush is decent but gloppy, like others have said, bottle opening too small is to blame for that one, ya'll pegged it there.

I hate to think I am going to start a new morning ritual of wiping and wiping to get the excess glop off the brush before I apply my 'eyelashes'. Not gonna do it....

At first, I only bought this mascara because there was a 40% off Almay products are the drug store. Being a mascara addict, I bought it. I've tried many many many mascaras, enough mascara expereince to say that this is definitely one of the best I have ever used. I have thick and long lashes to begin with so that may have helped to begin with, but my lashes are stick-straight. However, with the use of this mascara, it curled (without me using an eyelash curler!) my lashes so beautiful with NO clumps. This is definitely THE mascara for a natural/daytime look!

This product is really nothing special. I've become a bit of a mascara junkie lately, and tried this while shopping for other makeup. It didn't really lengthen, thicken, or curl all that much. It's a very average drugstore mascara. There are so many superior mascaras at the drugstore that do so much more.

So far, I really love this mascara. It curls my lashes and makes them thicker, although I tend to have curly lashes already (so maybe it doesn't do much for someone who doesn't have curly lashes). The wand is great, through. I haven't had any clumps or raccoon eyes from this!

This mascara's formula doesn't stand out for me in any way. It doesn't really curl, lengthen or volumize much more than other ones out there. What I do love it for is the wand. One side of the wand has longer bristles so you can apply the mascara. The other side of the wand has shorter bristles to take out the clumps and seperate. For that, I love this mascara for everyday and in the mornings when I can't be bothered to run a lash comb through my lashes.

Meh, this mascara I could give or take. I hate curved wands, but the mascara stays on all day without smudging. I just don't think it's "extreme" enough for me. It's more of a daytime weekend/patio mascara - which is nice for summer, but I won't buy it again. Dirt cheap though....

This did absolutely nothing for my lashes. It was too gloopy coming out of the tube, even when I used a different wand, and it didn't lengthen or thicken. Pretty disappointing in general, I was left with thin, sparse lashes that stuck together. The only upsides were that it was pretty cheap, and I liked the white tube - very clean-looking. But, alas, I do not buy mascara for the tube, and therefore I will not repurchase.

I have always liked almay products for their clump free mascaras and non pore clogging foundations! I got this as part of the 2 for 1 offer so it's dirt cheap =) It claims to: lengthen, add volume and curl. I find that it does only 2 out of the 3 (hence one lippie off). It doesn't curl OR hold a curl either when i curl my lashes. It's not a bad product, i bought it in BLACK and it's a nice deep, dark, inky black!. Doesn't feel hard or brittle to the touch and since i got 2 for the price of one, i will def purchase again!

this mascara seems kinda gloppy to me, and the brush shape just increases clumps when you apply. I have to take off almost all the mascara from the wand with a tissue before I apply. It's a shame, because I usually love Almay! UPDATE: ok, this applies much better now. the secret is slowly wiggling the wand up your lashes instead of applying quickly.

I like this mascara a lot. I stopped using mascara for a while because I couldn't find one that didn't smear under my eyes. This one does not flake or smear all day, (as long as the weather is not too humid). I have eyes where when I close my eyes, my upper lashes touch my undereye skin in some places, so I'm very smear-prone. Any mascara that isn't waterproof smears on me in humid weather, but the smearing was relatively minimal with this. It's pretty easy to get clumps out, and I like the narrow wand.

LOVE this mascara!!!!! I'm glad I discovered it through these reviews, otherwise I would not known about it. It was only because ULTA had a sale for "Buy One Almay Eye Product, Get One Eye Make-Up remover pads FREE" and that's all I had really even come in for...was the make-up remover pads. This just came as a pleasant surprise. This macara gives me THOSE FABULOUS doe eyed look because the lashes just have separation definition and they make my lashes soo long and if you know how to apply it with the right technique (which I'm still perfecting), you can even get them to curl without the use of an eyelash curler. For now, this is my HG (alongside with L'Oreal Lash Out) but I'll certainly try to find something better if that even exists. For my mascara application, I usually use two different types of mascara since that is what make-up experts recommend. The first mascara should just separate the lashes and be kinda the "base coat" which is where the L'Oreal Lash Out comes in, then I finish it off with this Almay One Coat Nourishing Mascara Triple Effect.

P.S. Reviewers are right about one thing! You need more than one coat of this mascara--more like THREE to FOUR coats!!

Took the curl right out of my eyelashes!! A complete waste of money. I have purchased just about every type of mascara and this is one of the worst. Who writes all these "fabulous" reviews anyway??

ALMAY's one coat nourishing mascara creates a dramatic lengthening of the lash and holds a curl all day long. The wand allows for easy and controlled application. The mascara is not drying, washes off fairly easily, and-- most importantly to me-- it does NOT create the raccoon effect!!

The packaging is a simple white and silver. I wish the tube had something built-in at the top to help decrease the amount of product that comes out with the wand. My only tip is to have tissue nearby to help remove any excess. Because of the potential waste of product, I took off a point. But don't let that sway you from trying this mascara since it's affordable and a pleasure to wear!

I am really pleased with this mascara. I bought it because I read a blurb about it in Allure. The gel texture means it goes on very smoothly and doesn't look dry or spidery. Super easy to apply. It really lengthens well. It adds some thickness and holds curl well. It doesn't flake or smear as the day wears on, which I really like. I think I paid about $9, which I consider is a steal for something that is pretty great all around. The lengthening might not be as dramatic as my Eyeko or Dior mascaras, but for daily use it's excellent, especially considering the price.

I purchased mine in blackest black.I am really loving this product. It was a little awkward at first; the wand has a side section that has longer bristles for length, and then the rest is short and full to catch the smaller lashes giving volume and thickness. It easily created beautifully dramatic( by my standards) naturally plush looking lashes. It wasn't harsh in texture, and felt good on.I got instant bold length with one quick flick, but I did play with it a bit more than just a one coat quick swipe for thickness (I do that with every mascara until I get the results I want.) My usual favorites are Long Pretty Lashes by Clinique and PC mascaras. The applicator for this is also much more gentle (read as: less abrasive) than the Revlon Fabulash one, which inevitably hurts my eyes reguardless of how gentle I am. Way to go Almay! This is actually the first Almay mascara I have liked using.

This is my first Almay mascara, and I love it! It is just like Luxiourus Lenghts by Revlon, however I find that L.L is a little bit drier, so I like this one better. It takes a couple of times to get it right since the brush is a little diffrent, but the end result is beautiful, long, thich, separated lashes! Will buy again.

I just tried this product today, & so far am impressed. It took more than one coat, but I like the brush & it is very smooth. My lashes haven't looked this full in a long time, and I have tried every mascara from very expensive to regular drugstore brands. I agree with the other reviews that there is too much "goop" on the brush, and I have to wipe the base & tip w/a tissue so I don't get it all over. I would buy again.

I've been without a faithful mascara for a few years now. I'll try something for a while, then try something else. I bought this Almay mascara on a whim because I was almost out of whatever else I was using. I'd never tried Almay mascara before, or really any Almay cosmetics.

I have longish lashes, but they're thin and pale and completely devoid of curl. :) The Almay mascara makes my lashes look much thicker and longer, and they curl beautifully even though I rarely take the time to curl them. It lasts well, with only minor smudging and flaking by the end of the day.

I agree with the reviewer who said the brush was too small for the wide mouth of the bottle. Hardly any mascara is scraped off as you pull out the brush, leaving lots of goop that I always have to carefully scrape on the bottle opening. Makes a big mess! Also, like most mascaras I've used, it gets less "potent" over time. The dramatic effect I loved at first has definitely faded.

Still, I love this mascara and have already bought another one for when this runs out.

For the past couple of months, my lashes had been lacking life. Although at one time i had long, full, vibrant lashes, their vitality had seemed to dwindle, and i thought my sexy lash days were over. But with just a few coats of Almay's Triple Effect mascara, my lashes were back to life and more dramatic than i'd seem them in a long time! The magazines were right, this stuff is worth it. Plus it has aloe in it, so your lashes don't stay rock hard throughout the day.

I love trying out new mascaras-hey you never know when a HG will come along right? This stuff is okay. It gives nice length and definition to lashes along with some thickness but it doesn't curl as it claims to. not super clumpy and no flaking either. I gotta say this though-the tube needs to be redesigned. It opening is too wide and it doesn't wipe excess product off when you pull it out so the rather slim wand comes out completely gooped up with product every time-gross and wasteful IMO. But all in all, it's okay. Would repurchase when on sale.
