i would have to agree with SadAng3l review on this product. i thought it was just my palette that had bad pigmentation. this isn't a palette that i reach for often because it takes a lot of time for me to apply the color due to the pigmentation. its great when everything is applied. very pretty combo's, but unless you're willing to take time to apply it, it's a no go for sure.

wow, so this is why everyone buys mac! this quad was my first mac purchase and i was not disappointed. the colors are very pretty, but i was more impressed with the texture and application of the product. there was NO FALLOUT, even with the dark colors that come in this set. the light muted pink is kind of a dud but the other 3 colors are great, especially the vibrant blue. the dark purple was not as pigmented as i was expecting but its great to use with the lighter shimmery purple. they have good staying power if applied over a primer. i will be purchasing more mac in the future

This is my favorite MAC quad. I use all of the colors quite regularly. It is great for smokey eyes OR softer looks.
The colors are:
Lightfall - a pink, pale, highlight color. not super pigmented but very soft and good for blending.
Smudged Violet - a shimmery gray purple color
Deep Truth - a GORGEOUSLY pigmented cobalt blue with shimmer and black undertones
Shadowy Lady - A lovely deep plum matte color great for blending smokey eyes or to use as a liner.
This palette is WONDERFUL for the price, and I've been using it for at least a year, probably two? And not sick of it at all

i am doing a review on the shade LIGHTFALL! that is the only shade from this quad that i have. Its not pigmented so i didnt kno how i was gunna use this. i put my udpp on, then put this all over my lid up to my brow and it really evens out my lids and makes my shadows brighter and last longer. in the summer my shadows crease but i wore this combo today and it lasted!

This is my first review!!! yay! haha anyway. I got this quad at the CCO, for only 24.50! which is a great deal for Mac products. And i love love love these colors! Especially Smudged Violet, it is so very unique, and build-able to make more intense or just a settle, muted color. Deep Truth is a SUPER gorgeous shade of blue, which you can make really intense or just a thin layer of color. It's very unique too, it shows up rather black, but has a blue sheen, it's really pretty, shadowy lady is really nice too, it's a good, not shimmery dark purple that is very pigmented. The only color i do not like is Light Falls, the lightest pink in this quad. I don't like the texture, and it's not as pigmented as it could be. Plus maybe my skintone is a little darker, it just blends away, like nothing's there. But overall i love the other 3 colors, and this quad is great, =) I won't buy it again though, just because if i were out of these shadows i would want to try something new =)

I bought this along with the Spiced Chocolate quad which was a big disappointment. I payed quite a bit for it as it was not available anymore when I looked for it. The colours in this palette are:
Lightfall - A pinkish, biege highlight colour
Smudged Violet - A greyish, shimmery purple
Shadowy Lady - A dark matt purple
Deep Truth - A dark shimmery blue
In the palette the colours look really pretty. The colour payoff for Shadowy Lady and Lightfall when swatched though is not that great. Lightfall doesn't show up at all really. Deep Truth is a very pretty dark blue but I don't know how I could wear it without it being too much. Shadowy Lady and Smudged Violet are also great colours but the pigmentation could be better.
All in all its a good palette but its not worth the big price to be honest.

Starting out in makeup, everyone says "if you have brown eyes, purples look great" so I opted for a good quality pallette with lots of purples. I tried it out, and honestly, I just looked so brooding and avril-lavigne-y I couldn't really wear it anymore. I swapped it away.
The best look I did with this pallette was on Halloween where I made bruises all over my face and neck adn arms to look liek I'd been beaten up, so, if that's the look you're going for, then it's perfect.
I liked smudged violet. It's sort of a muted, grey-ish purple with lots of gold pink and i think blue shimmer. Beautiful color, but nothing I'm too attached to.
Shadowy Lady was probably my favorite, but I can just pick that up anytime at the MAC store.
Would not buy again and was very disappointed.

I have one of these quads and have actually purchased another one recently that should be on it's way already :D
As many have also said, i love smudge violet. It's such a great base colour to start off with and use it as the blend between the dark eyeshadow up to the highlight colour. It's so pretty i havent seen any colour like it. It's almost a silver with a touch of purple that it almost looks like a dirty brown? I cannot wear silver at all! It looks so terrible on me and doesn't suit at all but this is more of a grey purple and i repurchased mainly for this colour :) However my main disappointment is i swiped this with my finger a few times, the eyeshadow has harder spots and clumped up a lot. I do not have water or oil on my fingers so i guess this shade is more sensitive? Only use a brush for this colour, my pan is clumpy and messy looking only after 3 uses :(
I'm a bit disappointed in the pigmentation of the shades though. Lightfall is the worst. I'm fair - medium skin toned and lightfall does not show up at all! I can't tell what colour it is. I can see it looks a bit like a grey pink on my finger but the colour does not come off/show. As people stated it is a highlighter, maybe for dark skin tones only? Even crappy powder foundation is more pigmented than this =/
Deep truth is such a lovely blue. I'm not a person who can get away with bold bright colours, however i love rich blues and at first i was disappointed this was a bit dulled out and not as rich, but its actually a very wearable blue for me. However i have to swipe this 10 times (finger) to get the colour to come through.
Shadowy lady is a nice deep purple. It almost can pass as a brown with purple tones. As someone who mostly only wears neutrals, this is a nice change from the typical browns without straying too far.
Not the best shade in the quad but definately one with the best pigmentation and simple hassle free. Colour goes on easily, no clumps at all.
I would recommend this quad for the smudge violet and shadowy lady but the colours are hard to show even after a lot of packing on. Also hate the clumping as i need to scrap the whole harden layer off and waste a lot of the eyeshadow.

Swapped for this quad, was unsure about it at first but now its become one of my faves. Love smudged violet, its such a pretty crease color, but i have to blend it like crazy with my MAC "windshield wiper" brush. Shadowy lady is a beautiful dk purple to put on lids and line with, so is deep truth -at first its kind of a shocking bright blue but when blended well is gorgeous. Lightfall is a nice highlight color. With either of those combinations I get a nice daytime smoky eye, can be layered on more for night look. This quad is definitely a keeper!

Since this is a LE product and therefore hard to get, let me tell you that you can get it on love-makeup.co.uk and they ship internationally via registered mail. I swear I'm not affiliated them - I just love them and want to share the love. I love the colour design behind all the CoC -they all have the perfect balance between shimmery and matte. But some of them are a bit hard to work with - case in point, this quad. Shadowy Lady, a matte, is almost impossible to blend out properly.I have some excellent fluffy tapered crease brushes in my arsenal (like the MAC 224) and found it plain inpossible to get a uniform wash of Shadowy Lady above my crease even over a base of skintoned eyeshadow to help with blending. Smudged Violet, a frost, is also tough to blend at the edges.Nonetheless, the color combination is stunning - perfect for any evening looks. Such a nice twist on the purple smoky eye with the unexpected pop of shimmery dark blue (Deep Truth). The purples are all greyished or blackened so they work well with the shimmery deep Works even on women older than 20:) youtube.com.user/MakeupByKasiaD

I found this at the CCO and grabbed it on a whim. At first, I was like Ah what did I do?! But I'm glad I got it, as I have found one of my favorite colors in Smudge Violet. My five minute eye is swiping on some Rubenesque paint pot and smudging this in to my lash line. Love it. I really love Deep Truth and Shadow Lady as well for more smokey looks. If you can get this, do it.

I'm happy I have this quad, so I'm giving it a 5, but let me break it down. Shadowy Lady is a very versatile crease colour. It's highly pigmented and soft. It could be a bit easier to blend, but I still use it quite a bit. Deep Truth is just amazing. It's a mesmerizing shimmery and very very pigmented, vibrant dark blue. Absolutely stunning. Lightfall is pretty boring, but I use it to blend out harsh edges. I could do without it. As for Smudged Violet - this is the reason I got this quad in the first place, and it's a bit of a disappointment. It's so hard and gritty, and very very glittery. By the time I'm done applying, my lids are rubbed raw. I adore the shade itself, but it's just not well executed. Overall, I like this quad, I just wish Smudged Violet had a more workable texture.

From all the quads in the CoC collection, this and spiced stood out to me. Overall, ALLthe quads have really nice color schemes (as well as a mixture of finishes, best I have seen so far). All these colors are RICH but not flashy--stylish yet wearable for day time. I'm sure someone has put a lot of thought into these shades. They're not just plain nudes but each of these quads have a unique personality.
For instance, I love the the pop of royal blue among midst of variations of grayed purples (they're not vibrant purples because they have lots of gray mixed in it.)
Very versatile. Even more versatile than the Spiced Chocolate quad( don't get me wrong, I LOVE that quad but I feel it's more of a night time quad as oppose to the Shadowy Lady which can be both day/night time)
Here what I did with the quad. Continue please for pics:
Night time look using mainly Deep Truth:
A more subtle version with Smudged Violet on lid:
Update:
Smudged Violet is my favorite e/s from all my e/s collection--I have A LOT of e/s. Absolutely unique shade! A must have for neutral lovers.

This quad is awesome. I love all of the colors and they are easy to work with. I have seen reviews on here that say the colors don't show up very well... I use a black base for the different smokey eyed looks I do and also use a good eyeshadow primer when not doing a darker eye and have not had a problem. I *did* have a problem seeing colors pop when I swatched each of them without any kind of base or primer.... so maybe try using a base if you aren't already...? Also, lightfall is meant to be a highlight color so pretty sure it isn't supposed to show up too much :) I love it as a highlight! Deep Truth is my favorite blue, and smudged violet is gorgeous!

I love this quad for a blue smokey eye! Especially the deep truth color! I love to use it wet to have that metallic sheen protrude out more. It's a lovely quad & blends very well for me. Takes a bit of patience with the shadowy lady color because it's a matte, other than that it's perfect.

I selected yes to repurchase only because I like the quad. But in actuality this will take me a while to hit pan on ANYTHING mostly because i have so much shadow.
ok so...
Deep Truth....nice shimmery blue
Shadowy lady..very deep purple meant for crease alone in my opinion. on the lid will look like Im punched up!
Light Fall...is nice
Smudged violet is nice..but I find i have to really pack it on for it to show up on me or maybe its my lighting
case in point...nice quad for the FALL!

This is from the Cult of Cherry Collection 2008.There were three quads that came out, TheTemping Quad, the Spiced Chocolate Quad and this one Shadowy Lady.Out of all three my Favorite one has to be the Spiced Chocolate Quad then the Tempting and finally this one, not to say I dislike it the least its just not my favorite, only because it has Deep Truth, which is from the permanent line.So does The Tempting Quad but I realy like Tempting Eyeshadow, the Spiced Chocolate Quad is the most unique and the only Quad of the three that has all limited colors. This should be more of a review for the Spiced Chocolate Quad, or at least all three.
