I have stubborn acne prone, oily-ish with large pores skin that tends to look uneven at times. Have tried more expensive glycolic cleansers that haven't done much, but this simple cleanser I purchased on a whim is my new favourite. It has salycilic acid but in a cream formula so my skin doesn't feel stripped afterwards. If you like that squeaky clean feeling you won't get that with this. Not a miracle worker but face stays relatively clear &skin looks slightly more even looking at times when I use this. This is a great cleanser for me I will purchase again. If it had no fragrance would rate it 5.

I used this face wash for a few years because it was the only product i had tried that kept my acne under control. I have combo, acne prone skin for reference. Although it kept my face under control it didnt help with acne i already had. With acne i would get it didnt help get rid of it quickly either. The wash is really gently but is a pain to rinse off when i dont use it in the shower. It doesnt exfoliate well because the beads in it are soft but its nice that they arent harsh. Because it was not improving my skin enough i have recently decided to switch to another product. Overall the cleaner is nice and gentle enough, and personally did not dry out my skin too much.

This cleanser works so well for my skin!
For your reference, my skin is sensitive, acne-prone, and oily in the t-zone. I had been using Paula's Choice Clear Acne Cleanser for a few years (in combination with other products,) and it was better than anything I had tried before, but I was still having a problems with breakouts on my nose and forehead.
A friend of mine stayed at my house and left her Aveeno Clear Complexion Cream Cleanser in my shower, so I gave it a try. Funny, I would never have tried it otherwise, which would have been a shame, because it seems to really balance my skin. I use it in combination with Paula's Choice 2% liquid BHA (it's changed names a few times and I'm not sure what it's called at the moment.) My skin is radiant now that I found this combo, and I am often told that I look much younger than I am. To be fair, that's partly genetics, but having good skin helps:-)

Its a decent cleanser. especially if you have acne prone combo or dry skin thia will not dry your skin out and will clear up acne i also did notice a more even toned complexion after about a month and a half. nice fragrance too. but i think i'd rather stick to the foaming cleanser rather than the cream as it is a pain in the buttocks to rinse off. after splashing a hand full of times there are still patches of cleanser stuck on your face so its kind of annoying its not a very "on the go cleanser" if you will. I like to just rinse off and go you kinda have to take the time with this one so that was a deal breaker for me...

i think this is my 4th bottle. ive never re purchesed a face wash because i never found one that worked good anofe. this product exseded my exspectations. i used to have small blemishes randomly on my face. now i get a few now and then on jus my cheeks but it disent bother me because they are small and can be easily concealed. i also think this changed the overall health of my skin it has more elatisuty and moisture. this is perfectly paired with the garnier moisture rescue refresing gel for dry skin for added moisture

I live in south Florida (hot & humid) and my face is combination, acne-prone, and sensitive. Before trying this product in conjunction with the aveeno clear complexion daily moisturizer, I was using a wash from my dermatologist that had a low percentage of salicylic & glycolic acids with an "ultra light moisturizer." I was unhappy so I bought the cream cleanser and moisturizer at the same time (check out my review for the moisturizer if interested).
I am very happy with this cream cleanser. Because both the cleanser and the moisturizer contain salicylic acid, I figured it would be a little drying on my skin so I chose the cream cleanser over the foaming version (foaming tends to be dryer and more harsh fyi). This cleanser is great because it has small exfoliating beads that are gentle enough to use every day. The combination of exfoliators and salicylic acid has been great for clearing my skin up (I used to use a scrub every few days with my old cleanser). This product in combination with the moisturizer has been drying to my lips because of the increase in salicylic acid I'm putting on my face, but my face's oils are managed and even -- no oily spots, no dry spots. After I wash my face and before my moisturizer, my skin is not super tight like it stripped all the oils out; it just feels balanced. Overall, I would give this 4.5 lippies because of the dry lips side effect.

I'm a big fan of Aveeno Moisturizers, so I had desperately high hopes for this product. First, the scent is not the best. It smells like an artificially fresh fragrance, and it's much stronger than I expected. As an exfoliant, it also disappoints. The microbeads aren't too harsh (which tends to be a problem with the exfoliating washes I try), but there aren't enough to make my skin feel like it's gotten a good scrub. Also, it's terrible as a makeup remover, and all I wear is concealer & mascara. I'm almost through the entire bottle, but that's only because I didn't want to waste such an expensive drugstore product. On a more positive note, it didn't cause any breakouts, but I didn't help the ones I already had, either.

I have clinically dry and allergic contact dermatitis. As far as my face goes, my t-zone is prone to flaking and small zits/clogged pores (at the same time!). I have found that Aveeno products work better than any other brand for my skin. So when Clean & Clear discontinued my tried and true face wash, I thought I would try this.
I didn't use this product every day because my skin is too sensitive to be exposed to the acid in this on a daily basis. I used it once or twice per week. At first, it worked great. Cleared up any blemishes without drying me out.
After a month or two, I started to have some really bad issues with my skin. My entire t-zone was INCREDIBLY dry. My skin was flaking. I would use body lotion on the dry spots, only to have them be even drier the next morning. Worst of all - my blemishes were back, too! After a few tearful, frustrated weeks, I decided to ditch the face wash. Lo and behold, my skin improved three-fold.
I was extremely disappointed with this product. I wanted to like it because I like the rest of Aveeno's product line, but I just couldn't. This is a product that is advertised as being ideal for dry skin, and I used it sparingly, and it still dried me out to the point of tears I was so embarrassed about my skin. Not a product I would recommend to anyone else.

I think Aveeno makes really good cleansers, and this is certainly one of them. I use this every evening after taking my make-up off. This is perfect for those who are break-out prone, yet also have dry skin. In fact, I believe Aveeno even says this is good for dry-skinned people who also want to clear their skin. This is important to me because every other acne-treated cleansers tend to dry me out.
I love the beads in this. I love the smell. I am using other things that I believe helped to clear my acne, but this certainly did not make it worse. Like I said, I only use this at night because my skin can start to get dry if I use this in the mornings (I use Aveeno ultra-calming foaming cleanser for the a.m.). I will buy this forever.
UPDATE: I no longer use this. I noticed this does not take my make-up off very well. Even though I had also pre-cleansed, I still had make-up left on the cotton pad when I would use my toner. This would be good for the morning. I have switched to the Biore pore unclogging scrub to use at night instead and really love it.
