I originally received these in a gift package from Ulta. I enjoyed using them so much that I did wind up purchasing a regular container from EA.
I like that each one opens separately which is quite sanitary. The product works nicely on my skin, absorbing well. It plumps my facial areas well where needed, and minimizes fine lines. As a serum, it is more on the oilier side. For that reason, I only use them at night on my entire face and upon awakening, my skin does look refreshed.
The capsules aren't cheap by any means at all. One capsule more than covers your face and neck area. I found that I can open a capsule and drop it into one of those tiny sample containers and then use a smaller amount on my face instead of having to use the entire amount. As I said, using the entire capsule I found overkills for me and my face didn't absorb all of it. For over a dollar per capsule, that's wasting product. Using half a capsule was better for my usage. Or, you can empty however many you want into a container and just use the serum that way.
I do notice some immediate plumping. I always look at my under eye area. That's where I have fine lines and I want to see a difference. I immediately noticed my fine lines were improved by the plumping effect and minimized.
In the morning, my skin looks good and the hydration from using this type of serum does feel luxurious. I will say that I use this serum in conjunction with the matching ceramide moisturizer when I use the capsules. The moisturizer is thick and when used in conjunction, my skin is pretty happy.
Basically, I treat myself to using the ceramide capsules a few times a week as a special treat to myself. I do like the way they have made skin appear. When I use them, I almost feel as if I'm getting a spa massage with oils and ultimately the product is beneficial to the fine lines I must endure as my skin ages. I'll always have the lines, but at least the lines are lessened because of the plumping effect with this product. Many serums I've used don't plump. This one does. I'd also definitely use it in the wintertime more often than in the summer hot weather, but I use it sparingly around my under eye area more often. That's why I suggest putting the capsule in the tiny container so you can use it that way and not waste an entire capsule if you don't want to.
For me, it's a product that I'd like to treat my skin to because I think it's beneficial and it works for a variety of reason for me.

I love this product.

It did restore my problematic (age increase, moisture loss, wrinkle appearance, sensitive, chapped) sensitive face skin to a soft and firmer status.

Amazing product.

I'm only 16 but I have very problematic skin in terms of sensitivity and frustrating switches from dry patches to oily patches. My mom got a sample with about 8 of these a while ago and gave them to me because she's not really into beauty/skincare products and these are such a miracle worker when my skin is acting up.

One capsule lasts me a good 4-5 uses and I only need to open a new capsule every few weeks to regenerate it and bring amazing hydration and smoothness while feeling so light and never breaking me out! This serum even slightly decreases the few pimples I may have :) I'm down to my last capsule after having rediscovered this sample (I've had it over a year) and I will definitely be picking up a full size that is likely to last me 3 or more years at the rate I use these.

100% recommend, even for younger skin :)

I have moved to Asia. Maybe due to more UV exposure, my skin started to age much more quickly. The pores beside my nose became bigger, sagging on my cheek (loss of collagen). My face always feels dry. Have been using B5 day and night. The problem is I couldn't seal it and the moisture is lost / evaporated into the air. Then I find the serum capsule. It does miracles on my face and solves all those problems. I use 1-2 capsules/day for morning and night. My pores are significantly smaller and because of the decreased size pores, my face is firmer too! I read a book about what the skin cells need layer by layer. Then I know I need the ingredient-- ceramide which helps the outer skin cells to seal up /protect the moisture from leaving your face. Then, I searched for ceramide product and found this face serum capsule. It's easily absorbed and surprisingly non-greasy at all! I love it!! The eye serum doesn't do as well though...

I live in Hong Kong now and the capsules are much cheaper (30+% cheaper). So compare to other not-as-effective, yet pricey serum I have used, this is quite affordable.

Absolutely fabulous facial oil, it is much easily absorbed than any other facial oil I have used, to name a few, the NYR's orange flower oil, the NUXE gold oil. It's the only treatment that you would need in winter time. It absorbs so quickly that you won't end w/ an oily face. My skin type is combination towards oily and it can still leave a matte finish afterwards. Of course, i only use it at night. Tip, warm it in your palm before apply.

I liked that this product bc at first it seemed to make my pores look smaller and my face feel tighter. But I had a severe allergc reaction to it after a few days. Red bumps appeared all over my eyes, I had only used it near my eyes, but somehow it traveled all over my entire eye area and it was so bad I thought Id have to go to the hospital. Not for sensitive skin.

Initially I was concerned it would be too rich for my skin but I was pleasantly surprised. It is oily no doubt but it gets entirely absorbed into the skin in just like 30 seconds & the skin feels wonderfully hydrated & matte after that. I use it once every 2-3 nights and the next morning, my skin looks plumper & my pores visibly smaller. I usually use a whole capsule on my face & neck but it can still be a tad too much so I'll use the leftovers on the back of my hands too. Will definitely repurchase!

I've been using these capsules for about a month. I've had them in the past as GWP, but not sure why I never tried them. My normal/dry winter weary skin has reacted well to this liquid gold. I only use at night & in combination with the eye capsules. In the summer they may be too rich for my skin, as despite my normal skin I am prone to cystic acne with the use of certain products. I have seen an improvement in my fine lines & skin tone.

My routine for opening & storing these capsules: Use a stick pin to puncture the twist tab end. I generally use a full capsule each night, but store any partially used capsules in a contact lens case. One side for my eye capsule & one side for the face capsule. This keeps them from leaking all over & helps minimize any contamination issues that other reviewers have expressed concerned about.

This product is very moisturizing. It comes in individual caps that are easy to open. You know it is fresh each time you use it. It seems to firm the skin too which is a big issue for me. It is a good serum & not as costly as many and works better than many I have tried. I would recommend this for anyone w/dry skin who also has firmness issues.

-soothes parched skin
-one capsule is good for three nights for me
-no smell

Cons:
-doesn't sink into skin
-my skin gets little bumps but not quite zits
-opened capsule leaks all over the container

I think I'd use this for my hands. I think it suits more mature skin.

These capsules are really wonderful for dry problematic skin like mind. For oily skinned people I'd give it a bit of a miss as this is extremely hydrating and seems to compliment thirsty painfully dry skin. The only thing that made me take a lippie off is the packaging I understand its to preserve and purify it's serum contents but is it just me or
is this thing is a pain in the butt to open it says you twist it twice to open after five attempts I kid you not it still wouldint open!!eventually I got the hell in and just bit it which half of it ended up in my mouth and gave me quite bad stomach ache:( but no worries all I do is take a pair of scissors and snip it off no mess no fuss! Overall this is excellent and leaves my skin glowy healthy and hydrated its extremely expensive though but will buy again:)

This is a great product, there's a reason it's been a top seller since 1990! This is a patented concept that other companies are starting to use now as the patent is almost expired. It retextures and exfoliates skin. It helps reduce appears signs of lines and wrinkles. It enhances skin's own natural collagen so skin looks firmer. It evens out the texture and appearance of skin, so you look more even toned. It helps strengthen skin's moisture barrier. I use other serums (depending what I have) but I ALWAYS use this underneath.HG

EDITED (2012): For some strange reasons, my skin suddenly rejects this serum. Although I had been using it for a long while with no problem, all of sudden my cheeks started developing dry patches and I can't use these capsules anymore. Very disappointed since it used to work magic on my skin...

These little beads do a big job! This serum makes my skin look and feel remarkably soft and smooth. It's completely non-greasy and it absorbs within a minute. I use it under my daily sunscreen, on my face and my neck, and it serves as a "primer" + skin care. Sometimes the beads get really soft and it's hard to twist the little top off (trust me, resist the urge to chew it off), but if this were packaged any other way, I know I'd use too much. This is a product that, after one use, I could "feel the difference", and I love the fact that I can add healthy stuff to my skin without adding extra moisture.

This stuff is just fantastic!
I live in Asia and got this for a very reasonable price at Sasa (equivalent of about 33USD) so cannot complain about the price, however even if I had to pay full price I would still buy these again, knowing how great these little capsules are!
I have dry, sensitive skin and live in a tropical climate (skin dry from stressm hormonal, air conditioning etc) so not easy to find something suitable, but this is fantastic. It erases pimple scars and evens skin tone, reduced fine lines and hydrated and gave me a wonderful glow. If you can afford it, try it!

This is my first product I purchased thanks to the ladies & their high recomendation of this product. All I can say is "Thank you" -this product is a "god-send". I recently turned 40 this year & am freaking out because my skin & complexion is starting to change(i'm sure many can relate) & was starting to feel "not so pretty" anymore & yea, even a lil old. Ive been trying everything...facials, $100.00 creams, serums, u name it. Some improved my skin a lil, but nothing to write a review about. So far, I have used these capsules 2 times, thats it..& all I can say is wow!!! Complete transformation of everything about my complexion. Its supple, glowy, healthy looking, just...youthful. Its evend out the lil hyperpigmentation that was starting, in just 2 uses!!! I cant believe it. Something that finally works. I cant wait to see what I look like after using these for a month!! This is one of my three holy grail skin products, worth spending money on (the other two are Kate Sommerville's Exfolikate and Skinceuticals Retinol 1.0 cream). If you're over 35, these capsules should make a big difference in your skin's radiance and tone. If you don't want to buy an entire container at first, do what I did - keep your eyes open for an Elizabeth Arden gift-with-purchase deal, since they often will give out 7-day samples of these capsules. 7 days should be enough time for you to see if it will make a difference for you - I could see and feel a positive difference in my skin after just 2-3 days of use. I love the packaging - each little capsule packs a powerful punch of skin-refining and healing ingredients. Originally, my skin had some hyperpigmentation, dullness and uneven tone, and I had been using a foundation with medium-heavy coverage to even things out. The foundation was really drying and started to feel harsh on my skin, so I tried these capsules--I'd use one after cleansing my face each night. After a few months, I had seen so much improvement in my skin's tone and radiance that I was able to switch to using a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation.

Love this product. I have been using these for years. I can mix them with any Arden or Lancome night cream at night for a extra punch of moisture. A little pricey but worth the treat!

I buy these every winter. I don't need them too much in the summer because I'm more oily and less sensitive. But when the harsh winter weather and the heat in the house is on, my skin gets wrecked. These little golden gems are my secret to keeping my skin hydrated and happy. I am sensitive to some products and prone to clogged pores but these actually keep my skin clear and soft. They also plump up my naso-labial folds which in the last few years have gotten pronounced with age. I keep forgetting about these capsules every-time my skin freaks. If I use these along with EL's Night repair, my skin is transformed in days, less irritated, calm, smooth and much happier. Even though I'm combo-oily in summer, I run dry in the winter. I think these can be safely used by those with oily skin, as after about 5 minutes the oils in these sink into your skin and you are just left with softer skin. So don't be scared of the oils. It does contain silicone's. My skin like certain types of silicones better than others. Typically I cannot handle retinol, but I can use these babies!! Packed with Ceramindes for skin barrier protection and repair, retinol for aging, Vitamin E and A for healing and repair, you can't beat it. I love the hygienic packaging too, little capsules of good stuff. Love them!

And ladies, please use the whole capsule. They will loose their effectiveness if air gets to them, so treat your neck, chest and back of hands too!

I see some people think this is a moisturizer, it is not. It helps you retain moisture in your skin and repairs the lipid layer, giving you more protection. You have to use this with a moisturizer if you are very dry. Think of it like a serum. Serums are not meant to be used alone.
