Avon mentions that Imari Seduction is composed of plum and purple orchid notes with hints of vanilla, amber and musk. The first time I smelled it I was pleasantly surprised. It smells, current and on trend with what's happening in fragrance. I was immediately reminded of my Flowerbomb but tamer with far less patchouli with an added honey note? Imari Seduction also reminds me of Coty's Playboy Play is Sexy that which to me also smells a bit like an altered Flowerbomb. i like that Imari Seduction is sweet but not cheap smelling. I cannot stand the original Imari, so for me this is an improvement. I have a small bottle of Imari Seduction and have recently ordered the newest addition to the line, Imari Blossom which I am waiting to get. My only complaint is its lasting power. Well done for its price range.

I got this as a gift, and first was like eh. But it is actually very pleasent and floral, for some reason I feel like a sassy black woman when I wear this

I love this perfume. It has a warm, powdery plum scent. My nose just loves it when I put this stuff on. I have had my bottle for 4 years and it still smells amazing. My boyfriend tells me I smell very good every time I put it on and he has asked for its name twice, so that's a bonus too. :>

MMM, powdery plum! And floral! This scent is divine! It goes on a little strong, but the dry down is divine! I bought this on ebay for 99 cents, and I didn't have to pay shipping, because the seller lives in my city, so I picked up in person. Yay me! :) The staying power could be better though. But I will repurchase this once I run out. Avon gets a bad rap. I am not a fragrance snob. I own everything from Guerlain's Mitsouko and Samsara to Love's Baby Soft. I wonder how many of those that gave this a bad review would give it a great review if it were a high end scent that cost $100? Makes me wonder...

I had high hopes for Imari Seduction. At first spray, it reminds me of two of Avon's best, and now discontinued, fragrances, Hollywood Pink and Everlasting. Unfortunately, on me, the dry down smells closer to Red Door -- a soapy, powdery mess.

I was quite skeptical when I first got this, thinking it may be a fragrance that is better suited to an older person. That is the gamble with Avon, the scent in the brochure and on the sample never gives you a full preview of what it will be like when you get the real thing. My mother and I have made that mistake, thinking by the description or the sample that we would really like it, then ending up with a full set that we detest. Upon receiving Imari Seduction, it did not smell like the sample, but I still liked it, even though it seemed a little mature for me. I like it, but men LOVE it. Anyone I had a date with or males in general say I smell really good, and that is ultimately the reason why I wear it so often and will repurchase. Another plus is that Avon fragrances are inexpensive (especially when on sale, which is very often), so purchasing the eau de toilette, body lotion, shower gel, powder, etc to layer is very affordable.

EDIT - originally I hated this but I have since tried a sample from the actual bottle and not a sample vial and it is a lovely spicy powdery plum not the best not the worst due to its longevity (layer with the body cream which smells nice also) but has a similarity to flowerbomb extreme, Armani Code and something else I can't quite place. Sweet but not fruity sweet. Will be ordering a bottle since it is so cheap very soon!

I LOVE the smell of this perfume - it is a cheaper, simpler version of DKNY Night, my HG perfume for night. It smells sexy yet sweet and sophisticated. Only bad thing about this perfume is the fact it does not last very long. I am considering buying the body cream to layer and see if that makes the scent last longer.

I've been wearing this for several years. It's my all time Avon favorite & I have it in every form. I find it pretty sexy, soft after dry down, & one of my go to everyday fragrances. I would go easy for daytime & heavier for night.
Avon: you did an awesome job on this one. Keep coming out with more additional products in this line. We'll keep buying.

Smells like a lighter, less complex scent of Rare Diamonds. Both have plum, orchids, and amber. So they are a bit similar. However, I do like the Rare Diamonds a bit more. It's like the "night" version to Imari Seduction. Both are nice scents, but NOT for me because I really can't do strong scents and these are a bit too much for me, as I prefer the soft, powder, floral, musk scents. Anyway, Seduction is loads BETTER than the original!

I like how this frag smells. It's a mature fruity floral scent, not a pink girlie kind of smell. In fact, I find it quite lovely. I like the combination of plum, orchid, vanilla and musk. Kinda makes me feel being mysterious. Strong opening but wish to have more lasting power. Only lasted for about 30 minutes on me. I gave 3 out of 5 for that reason.

I like this perfume. It doesn't last very long, but I'm used to that (I refuse to spend a lot of money on perfume) so I'm okay with it. It's a warm, vanilla/sweet flower smell. I can't discern any of the individual scents (plum, orchid, etc.) but I'm not good at breaking down scents, anyway. It's not very strong, so it would be hard to over-apply. I used several sprays and it was fine. My husband also picked this out for me after sampling a few of my bottles, so it also has his seal of approval as well. :P

Did not work with my chemistry. I like it after a few minutes but it later turned rancid on me. Too bad. I generally like deeper scents like this.

I am not incredibly fond of this perfume by itself- it's to one-dimensional and a bit overpowering, but I love the combination of Imari Seduction and Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom. They are both sexy orientals and mix together to form the most luscious scent! For that reason alone, Imari Seduction gets a thumbs up from me!

I actually love this scent-it's a very warm, comforting vanilla, amber and plum based scent that I love to put on before bed.It *is* a bit strong when first applied but like other reviewers have pointed out it really has no lasting power at all.To solve that I make sure and spray a bit on my hair and use the matching lotion. It reminds me a lot of their old Vanilla Soft Musk which I have missed dearly.I would definitely buy again:)

"A hypnotic scent of luscious plum and purple orchid with tantalizing hints of warm vanilla, amber and musk."
Personally, I can't stand this fragrance. It smells medicinal. If you've ever smelled Eagle Brand Medicated oil/ointment, this smells almost exactly like it! (the green stuff in the little glass bottles, it's very very popular in Asia--http://www.veryasia.com/eabrmeoil.html).
PROS: Fairly inexpensive.
CONS: Smells terrible. I need to wash my hands right now!!!
Obviously, I would not even consider purchasing this.

Yum. I've never been a fan of the original Imari, but THIS truly is lovely & hands down one of Avon's better perfume offerings in recent years. As for its smell being compared to Armani Code, Betsey Johnson, Viva La Juicy & Britney Spears' Fantasy among others... well, I have no idea what those perfumes smell like so I really can't say if Imari Seduction is identical to or even a combination of those four. But if it's indeed true, then yippee! Imari Seduction only costs a fraction of the the fragrances mentioned (I even got my bottle at more than 50% off its normal price) & frankly, given a choice between Avon & Ms. Spears, I'd take Avon perfumes ANY TIME over some skanky, over-exposed celeb's scent. Previous reviewers complain about the poor lasting power & for an EDT, I definitely agree. Heck, even the company's Vanilla Soft Musk cologne spray is surprisingly tenacious compared to this, lasting well into the next day... hmmm... quite baffling as normally, it's supposed to be the reverse. So for that reason, I can only give it 4 lippies. But overall, a very classy, high quality fragrance that smells much more expensive than what its cheap price tag suggests.
UPDATE (9/15/09):
I don't like this anymore, so downgrading to 1 lippie. Somehow, I get more of the purple orchid note (which I don't care for) than the plum from my bottle -- which is REALLY infuriating coz I DEFINITELY smelled more of the delicious plum note from the tester (very deceiving!) Then, there's the drydown: just your typical generic, chemically Avon drydown of synthetic amber, musk & vanilla that is sooo prevalent in many of their new lacklustre perfumes of recent years. *heavy sigh* Oh how I MISS the old Avon of the '90s when the company STILL cared to come out with memorable fragrances like Far Away, Women of Earth, (the aforementioned) Vanilla Soft Musk, etc that smelled like the perfumers actually put some thought & passion into them... now Avon perfumes are about as forgettable as & undistinguishable from the many zero-personality, unoriginal, "I've smelled this before/this smells like X or Y perfume" designer/celeb scents being churned out by the factory-load every year that are hardly worth our time, attention & money. What a darn shame. :(

This is one sexy scent! The packaging is quite lovely too. This fragrance took me by surprise because it smells so divine!
My mother is quite picky with fragrances but even she likes this one!
I gave it a four because I think it could last a bit longer, however this is a cologne spray not a EDT or EDP so that would be why, however I would give 5 lippies if this was a EDT ot EDP and lasted longer!

WOW!!!! Who would have thought that i would find this amazing fragrance from AVON! I did not smell this perfume before i bought it off ebay for only $9.99 including shipping for a 1.7 oz. I figured if i didnt like it, it wasnt that big of a loss. Boy.. was i surprised when i sprayed this perfume on and out came this lovely scent! It kind of smells like viva la juicy on me, but i can detect some stronger notes..kinda spicey in a way. I cant stop sniffing my arm! The bottle is classy and elegant aswell. I will go through a bottle of this super fast i can imagine, but its fine since its so cheap! I am thinking that this will be my signature scent, and i will glady display it on my bathroom counter :)
