Kalahari (I) was included in Sephora's And God Created the Woman Set (purchased in April 2013). According the ingredients list, NARS has started using triclosan in its shadows. Given the other options available, it's not clear why this would be necessary. I will not be repurchasing.
Ingredients as pulled from the And God Created the Woman set:
Talc, dimethicone, zinc stearate, silica, cetearyl isononanoate, cetyl acetate, stearoxy dimethicone, isopropyl lanolate, methylparaben, propylparaben, triclosan, acetylated lanolin alcohol, bha [+/- (may contain): mica, ci 77891 (titanium dioxide), ci 77491 ci 77492 ci 77499 (iron oxides), ci 19140 (yellow 5), ci 19140 (yellow 5 lake), ci 42090 (blue 1 lake), ci 77007 (ultramarines), ci 77288 (chromium oxide greens), ci 77289 (chromium hydroxide green), ci 77510 (ferric ferrocyanide), ci 77742 (manganese violet), ci 77163 (bismuth oxychloride), ci 75470 (carmine), ci 77000 (aluminum powder), ci 77400 (bronze powder), ci 77400 (copper powder)]

This duo works for me. Nars lasts all day without creasing without a base on my uber-oily lids. Incredible. I am very dark so these neutrals are right up my alley. The left is a bronzey shade and the right is a taupey shade. Both subtly shimmery. Definite repurchase.

I was so excited to get my hands on this e/s duo. I did relentless research looking at swatches/tutorials etc. to make sure this would look good on my brown eyes. I attempted a look with it this morning and was dumbfounded--Both shadows are SO incredibly sheer. I then tried using them wet. This helped some, but even then it barely showed up on my NC20 lids. I then used it over a black base. This is the only way the shadows showed up on me. I will say, I am not used to wearing neutrals. In other words, I don't know what the point of a "no makeup" makeup look" is. If I'm going to take the time to put on makeup, it better show up. This is just my personal taste. I actually envy women who love/embrace neutrals..I just haven't been able to. That being said, it took way too much hassle to get these colors to show up. I took a hard look in the mirror and realized both e/s just kind of muddy together forming a pretty taupe that looks a hell of a lot like nars ashes to ashes, which I own. Honestly, the quality of these eyeshadows are drugstore quality. I wouldn't waste your money.

I want to love these eyeshadows, but I just can't help feeling that for the price, the quality doesn't meet my expectations. The colors are really beautiful, but a lot more sheer than I expected, although with a little work they can be built up. I wouldn't repurchase this particular duo.

i'm on the fence about this product. i read on a blog for brown girls and i assumed it would be a great every day duo for me. I don't think so - I wonder if maybe I need sometime of colored eyeshadow base or someother colors to make it work for me. This duo just does not seem to do anything - I think they make me look tired.

They don't sell Nars in Germany, so when I went to Prague I was super excited to see that Nars was available there. I had researched the brand and their products a lot before because I thought about ordering online (which would have been very expensive with the shipping and everything), so I knew that Khalari was the most loved in my shade range and that I wanted it.
I'm a little bit disappointed. The colors are pretty, but I imagined them to be a little bit more... special, if you know what I mean. They are not as pigmentet as I expected them to be and they don't really show up that well on my lid. In fact, the more golden color of the two just looks like some golden glitter, even if I pack it on it looks like I've dusted some loose gold pigment over my lids. The darker color is better in that regard, but it's niether a dark enough color for the crease, nor is it light enough for all over the lid (since I have fairly small eyes and I have to be carful with putting darker colors all over). So all in all nice eyeshadows, but in my opinion not worth the price.

I love this eye shadow duo! The colors are so complimentary and looks wonderful on. It's expensive but this will last a long time. The colors are very pigmented,as are all NARS products so not a lot is needed. The texture is extremely smooth and velvety, it makes me feel like I am using something much more expensive. I use the colors as an everyday to work and sometimes i add some darker colors in the crease for a evening/ going out look. So versatile. This is a definite keeper in my books :)

I agree with starrysim when it comes to this duo. The colors have such a subtle difference, when looking at them in the pan you can tell that they're different but there's a strange familiarity to them as well. With the lighter shade on the lid and the darker shade in the crease I can quite quickly create an absolutely effortless gorgeous eye. I'm not very good at working with multiple colors, I usually stick to a wash of color for day-to-day. With this, I can actually use both sides together which is fantastic. It's SO easy, the colors blend so well that it's impossible to make a mistake with it. The result is a glowy, extremely subtle smoked neutral eye. The magic of these colors isn't in the palette or in the swatches, they're on the eye. I don't understand how such a subtle difference in colors can create such a dynamic look but I'm glad that they do because this is my new go-to for everyday wear.

This looked like a real win at the counter but turned out to be a complete dud. I am fair/neutral leaning toward warm and these hardly showed up at all. HIgh contrast doesn't appeal to me - I don't want my eyemakeup to register from 50 feet away. Some reviewers had a problem with this duo because the colours are too similar - that's not a fault but a matter of taste. But this isn't worth the money. I've got loads of Bobbi Brown neutrals that can do a better job.

I'm a complete sucker for recommendations from YT beauty gurus, and I got this as two of the gurus I'm subscribed to had each mentioned it as one of their favorites. The metallic color on the left looks gorgeous in the pan, but takes a little more work on the skin. There is a difference in the texture or the fineness between the two pans. The taupey brown on the right seems finer and easier to work with. I just don't find myself reaching for this duo very often at all. Bleh.

Very pretty colors. These are more of an everyday neutral eye look. The colors aren't necessarily stand out colors but they are very pretty and apply fabulously. They are easy to blend! I'm addicted to Nars!!
Age: 25-29 Skin: Combination, Fair, Warm Hair: Brunette, Straight, Coarse Eyes: Blue
This duo is 1 of my favourite eye shadow sets to wear. The colours are really nice and pigmented, and the texture is so buttery and easy to blend. The 2 eye shadows together really compliment my blue eyes, and they're very beautiful neutral shades. People seem to complain about the packaging getting dirty, but I find that it can be easily brushed off, and the benefits of the packaging definitely out-weigh that single negative point.

I really like this one. It's soft and buttery. It's not as pigmented as I expected and I find that I never use the two colors together because they are too similar and don't really show up with each other. I do like to use each color as a wash and it makes my blue eyes stand out. I worried it'd be a bit too warm on me but it looks really nice. Will buy again.

Wow, lovely smooth neutrals. The left side is like a very subdued version of mac's Woodwinked and the right side is like a lighter version of MAC's sable.
Age: 36-43 Skin: Combination, Fair-Medium Hair: Brown, Wavy, Medium Eyes: Brown
These colors are beautiful. They are highly pigmented, blend like magic and they last forEVER. Love this shadow, definitely pricey but I've had this duo for 4 years.

Gorgeous neutral duo, but compared to my other NARS duos, the pigmentation is lacking. But I still love it.

I agree with the previous poster, I am not 100% impressed by the colour pay-off.
I think the texture is amazing and super blendable, but the pigment isn't as intense as I thought it would be. I recommend applying it wet as well.
It still looks great and I am happy with my purchase.
I just wish I got a different eyeshadow duo as my first from NARS though! I played it safe with this one.

I love this but not amazed. The right color gives a smoky looks and I love it. Blending with the left one, it's really my perfect everyday look. (w/ alhambra left applied first) However, I found the payoff is far from expected. Applied wet, they are gorgeous, but otherwise I need to re-apply about 3 or 4 times with really dense brush to get the intensity I love. For the color, it's 5 definitely. But for the texture, really, it's only a 2 or 3.

This was my first Nars shadow and I was surprised by how much I liked it. I was never impressed by the testers at Sephora so I didn't expect much when I got this in a swap. My only regret now is not having tried Nars shadows sooner. I love this duo. The color itself is nothing that can't be duped but the quality of product just can't be beat. It went on smooth, blended easily and had almost no fall out. It wasn't chalky or overly shimmery. It's just perfect. I also love the packaging. It's sturdy and can take a beating without damaging the product inside and I love the fact that they give you a decent size mirror to work with. With all my shadows I doubt I'll ever hit pan on this but if I did I would definitely buy it again.

NARS Eyeshadow Duo in : KALAHARI Purchased for: $32.00
This is my first NARS shadow I have ever owned, and I must say the quality is fantastic. This particular shadow duo caught my eye, not only for the beautiful neutral shades, but because they come off as almost metallic. Or better yet they look like they are glowing, if you can understand what I'm saying.
One color is a soft daker brown, but looks almost plum. This the color that looks like it's glowing. I don't know how to descibe it, but yes, it looks like it glows.
The other color is a dirty golden bronze, and it does have the same glow effect as the brown shade, but not as vibrant.
Quality-wise, these colors provide an easy application. Smooth, vivid, and very blendable. They fade only slightly throughout the day, but the impact of the color still remains gorgeous.
I hear that NARS shadows, when traveled with, are very fragile, so that seems to be the only flaw with this product. I have not had any problems with it, but I do make sure to handle it with care.
Overall, I love the modern sleek packaging, the fantastic color payoff, and of course the unique neutral shades of the duo. This has become my favorite palette.
