Purchased this a few days ago and am really annoyed with myself for taking so long to do so! I have fair skin that is pretty neutral in terms of undertones but I have a lot of redness in my cheek area thanks to my lovely Irish and English ancestors haha. The MUA matched me with NC20 which is absolutely perfect. I have always been matched with NW20 in the past but I totally agree that the NW20 in this product washed me out a little and the NC really helps to neutralize the redness in my cheeks and gives me a warmer look without being too overtly yellow. I buff this product in with my sigma round kabuki brush and then finish with a few pumps of fix + to get rid of the powder look and it looks really natural and lasts all day on my normal skin. will definitely be buying again.

I la la la love this stuff. I'm so glad that I chose this as my first ever mac product. My face gets oily throughout the day, and this stuff is an oil sucking vacuum machine. No joke. It leaves a matte finish, which I consider good for my oily skin, it adds coverage on your foundation. Also, it gives a natural finish. It comes with a little sponge which really is really handy. Overall I really love this product. On the side note: don't put too much on your face, as it will look very cakey. xoxo

I am on a powder foundation binge for summer. Here is how studio fix stacks up to my other powders.
This one is definitely much more matte, fuller coverage, and thicker than anything I have in my stash. I usually use msfn for powder foundation alone, but the glow (read: shine) I get in this heat is not cutting it anymore. Plus, I needed a darker color for summer and couldn't decide between medium plus or medium dark and wanted something more precise in terms of color match since I have some breakouts at the moment.
Studio fix in c5 is like a more yellow version of carrot face nc42, so ask for the c version if you are a tanned Asian like me. Don't just accept what the assistant gives to you.
This looks great with a light dusting and fix plus. It can look powdery without a misting spray and good conditioner underneath. Also, you can use a damp sponge for spot coverup and it works flawlessly for that. It does not look or feel heavy. Be judicious people. If you pack it on, of course it will cake up and look disgusting. Use a heavier concealer or liquid foundation for that. I use a fluffy big brush and it evens everything out wonderfully.
I like my MUFE pro finish more, but this hands down mattifies my t zone much more effectively for the summer with no touch ups and the color match is impressive.

My first MAC product. I agree that finding the right shade is important. I use this when i dont feel like/too lazy to put on liquid foundation. Its easy to apply, i just pat it on no need to blend so much and it stays for hours on my oily skin without need for touch ups.

This product is a really great powder foundation. It has light to medium coverage with a brush that isn't too dense and with a more dense or sponge it can give medium/full coverage but not fully a full coverage, if that makes sense.
This powder isn't chalky and applies very smoothly due to the silicone. Other powders I have used are very hard to blend and don't apply smoothly, they also look blotchy and uneven and the studio fix doesn't. A plus is that since it is silicone based, you don't really need any of the gel/ clear type primers. If you're oily I definitely recommend skipping one of those primers since too much silicone ends up getting cakey and creases. If you have dry skin then a primer is optional, this powder isn't drying so I'd say you're fine without the primer.
I am an NC25 and it's definitely a good match. I'm Asian and it definitely is a warm toned foundation but it's not the right warm tone. I feel as though this is more of a peachy yellow tone and makes me look slightly peachy and tan. I'm actually an olive tone, my neck tends to have a slight green cast and looks a little lighter since the powder looks peachy on me.
I would say this lasts 7 hours on my oily skin. When I apply with a brush it tends to last longer and not need much of a touch up compared to using the sponge which makes me have to touch up with a the blot powder about 3 times. I find using a doing makes my pores look invisible but ends up looking cakey due to my oily complexion. Using a kabuki brush and applying in a circular motion going clockwise AND count clock wise makes the pores disappear without as much product and creasing as using the sponge.
I like the packaging, not too bulky. I like how the sponge is in another compartment and the price is really good and it's definitely worth it since it does look more like skin compared to other powder foundations which make me look very powdery

The key to this looking good is all about the shade you're using. I do not live near a MAC store so I was forced to order from their site. The shade I initially ordered (c2) was much too yellow and emphasized my large pores since it didn't match my skin. I then ordered nc15 and it's perfect... no more visible pores! Another tip I've learned for better application is using an animal hair brush. They pick up and distribute the powder more evenly onto your face. The synthetic brushes are good for liquid however, since they don't absorb all that much.

At the moment I have been getting completely lazy with applying and blending liquid foundations. I needed something that would cut my time in half, yet give me a flawless look. With MAC's Studio Fix Powder, I'm able to apply this all over my face after applying concealer and then setting it with MAC's Fix + and it looks absolutely great. I must admit though if I don't use a setting spray it can look powdery so I suggest using one to give it a more natural appearance.

This looks very natural and has better coverage/blends in better to your skin tone when applied with a brush. I use Eco Tools travel kabuki. After sitting on my skin for about an hour it looks less powdery and starts looking more natural so I apply about an hour before I leave the house or an hour before I reach my destination. I don't wear foundation or powder most days so I mostly use this for anytime that I am having photos taken such as going to a wedding, my graduation portraits, etc. It makes my skin look flawless in photos and still lets enough of my skin show through that I don't need to wear blush. My skin has a lot of redness that is hard to cover with almost any foundation I've tried without having to use too much product or too thick of a foundation and looking "made-up" so I like that this product can cover the redness so well but not look like I have a ton of makeup on. If I start to sweat a lot people just comment that I'm glowing. I use Clean&Clear blotting sheets with this so that I don't go from glowing to greasy.
I have really sensitive and oily skin and as long as I apply California Baby calendula cream in a thin layer and let it dry before I apply it, it doesn't irritate my face or apply unevenly or wear off unevenly.
I don't think the price is bad because it lasts me a long time since I only use it every once in a while and because I never have to pay to get my makeup done for special events or portraits because I can do my own and have my skin photograph just as well with this powder.

I have had a compact of this foundation for at least three years. I keep it in my purse as a powder/foundation master fixer during the day. I would buy another in a second if this one ever ran out but I am unsure as to when that will be. This MAC product is very effective and the range of colors is such that finding one to match your skin is a snap. Highly recommend this.

It is quite hard to find powders and/or foundations that match my skin tone til I found MAC's Studio Fix. I am an NC30 and this doesn't make me look any shade lighter or darker. I don't like wearing liquid foundation everyday so I use this instead. It surely doesn't make my face look flawless but it suffices for that simple look. However, I don't use the sponge as I prefer using a powder brush for better application.
The packaging is simple and light. Just be careful not to let it fall hard as the content will break into pieces like what happened to mine. It is quite pricey like almost all MAC products are but I keep on buying because of the way it matches my skintone.

This is the first face product i have purchased from MAC, i got this January 2013 and have used it since, i must say it is amazing although there are some flaws (for me anyways). So i don't like using liquid foundations on a regular basis because i feel like the coverage is way too much for just a natural look sometimes, so i decided to pick this up and give it a try. I use concealer to cover up any blemishes i have, you know and then i use the powder after and i get amazing coverage without looking cakey, and set it with my UD All Nighter spray and it lasts a good while, but i do have oily skin which makes me have to retouch maybe 5 hours through the day, not a big deal for me though. Okay so there are other days where i have wore this over a BB cream and it has made me look cakey some times, big flaw for me because i hate looking cakey (who doesn't?) anyways i always set it with my UD spray and that seems to make it look natural and not so cakey, so there is a quick fix! But i do recommend this to anyone looking for a full coverage powder, because this is the first ever powder i have found that actually has full coverage, and if not full coverage it can be buildable, beware of becoming cakey though! I do recommend this for anyone who has less troubled skin and can wear this alone without using concealers etc, but i also think it is good to use over a foundation / bb cream anything like that because it does add the extra coverage which is great in my opinion! The packaging isn't bad but it is kind of bulky but hey, i have a big purse so no biggie there either! If you don't mind the price tag and stuff go for it! :)

M.A.C. sets itself apart from other beauty brands by staying ahead of the curve by launching a seemingly-constant rotation of impressive limited edition products, usually with fashion-forward themes.
Studio Fix remains one of the top pressed-powder foundations available, despite several impressive entries from other companies. It has an exceptionally silky, talc-based texture that applies and blends like a dream. As usual with most M.A.C. products, wet or dry application is possible, but using this wet poses the risk of streaking. I have used both wet and dry application. I prefer to apply this dry, but sometimes in the summer when your skin is more damp, its humid, your sweating- then I think it's more beneficial to use it wet. I would also like to add that when I used this wet, I did not have any issues with streaking.
Dry application provides light to medium-full coverage. If you prefer this type of foundation and have normal to slightly dry or slightly oily skin, it is highly recommended. Almost all of the colors are impressive (albeit repetitive) for a broad range of skin tones. This is one thing I love about M.A.C. is their selction of colors and shades. There is something there for everyone, and if they dont have it, you can blend to make your own,
There are only two dislikes I have for M.A.C. prioducts and one is the price. I understand it's professional make up, and you can spend even more at Sephora or other Department Stores, but I am not convinced that ALL of their products are worth the price tag.
Another thing I didnt care too much for is M.A.C. is categorized as one who tests on animals. While they are not directly responsible, the company in China who makes their products tests on animals, legally. Not a fan at all. So many other cosmetic companies DO NOT test of animals, so why do they?
I don't know for sure whether I will buy this again. I want to say no just because of the product testing... but I am not totally sure, The product did work very well though- both wet and dry, I will be using up the product that I do have foir now, for sure!

Amazing powder foundation! It covers almost anything and it looks absolutely natural!!! Not cakey at all! Ladies(and gentleman.. why not?) I have dry skin with extra dry patches and this glides over them !!! I use it upon my regular moisturizer or my benefit That Gal illuminating primer for a more radiant result.. at the end I spray my face with a thermal water(I use vichy's right now..) and VOILA absolutely all natural result! No dryness, flakiness or tightness! plus you don't feel like you have something on your skin.. it is absolutely weightless. Lovely product! I will surely repurchase it!

i have had the worst luck with mac foundations.the main issue is that they do not have enough shades for darker complexions. i have tried several different shades..and they just do not have a shade that matches me.i got this powder in the shade nw45. i did get shade matched by the S.A. and it looked okay in the store. but as it started to oxidize,it was too dark and red. overall, this powder foundation was awful. a few hours after applying it.. my face was very oily, the coverage which wasnt very good to begin with had started fading and i looked a hot mess. if you truly need full coverage..this foundation alone is not going to cut it. i high tailed back to the store to return it. that was the last chance for mac..they bring me nothing but disappointments every time i try their foundations.

Ok so this is a foundation but in a powder form so it gives good coverage on its own, when I can't be bothered to have a flawless face I just dust this on my face and I look decent and it doesn't make me oily so that's a plus! When u use cream or liquid foundation and this powder as a setting powder, it gives that extra coverage which is a bonus! However, on its own, it does make my skin look kinda dry and accentuates some of my dry skin, maybe I just need to moisturise better! Still this is a good powder

I am in love with this product! First off, used alone, it has a very nice medium coverage, and provides a nice matte finish. Days when I don't feel like breaking out the Tarte Amazonian Clay, this is my go-to. Also, for oily skin, this is a great time-saver and shine eliminater! Not to mention, using this as a setting powder is a VERY good idea. It provides an extra layer of coverage, also leaving a beautiful porcelain affect to your skin. Worth a try!

I don't LOVE this powder foundation but for some reason I always have to have it readily available to me. It does cover very well and it does look very matte, which is what I prefer with my very oily t-zone. However, it doesn't stay looking so matte for long. My oil seeps through within and hour or so -even less time in the summer. I love everything except the longevity. I often buff this all over my face when I have quick errands to run but I don't use this if I need my makeup to last.

I used this product from 14-19, so for around five years.. I used to love this product, it looks beautiful for about the first 2-3 hours of wear, then it oxidizes and doesn't look as good. My face would burn after I put it on and I'd get little bumps around my face, not pimples just little bumps. I don't know why it never bothered me, maybe I just really loved how it looked when first applied so I looked past the burning. I think this is a good product to begin experimenting with makeup, but I will not be buying it ever again. I don't know how I used this for five years, I guess I just got used to it!
