I tried using it on my dark brown hair and it rarely came out, you can't even see the red undertones in the sun....I wouldn't recommend this shade for anyone with dark brown or black hair.

When I first used this hair color, I fell in love. I never had so many people (especially men) compliment me on my hair. Unfortunately, this color fades fast and I found when I re-dyed it, it seemed to pull more and more red. At first it was ok, but after I had re-dyed it for the 5th time, my hair was too red and brassy. I have now moved onto Feria's midnight ruby, but I may return to this one day. I think the trick with this dye is every second or third time you have to alternate it with another color to keep it from depositing too much red and turning brassy. Despite its shortcomings, this is a truly striking hair color that will certainly turn heads :-) I give it 4 stars.

I have been growing out my natural hair color for the past year and a half, but this color has been a constant temptation to go back to coloring my hair. This was my first dye ever, and I was thrilled with the color. My boyfriend loved it, my roommates thought it was hot, and I was constantly getting compliments and comments and questions ("Is that your natural haircolor?" was one I never understood, since this is burgundy and I've never seen natural burgundy before, but I got that question frequently all the same). I must have been really lucky to have chosen this particular color originally. When I switched shades on a whim, it was all downhill... not so flattering of a shade, not so shimmery, uneven "take", etcetera. I eventually grew dissatisfied and got it fixed at a salon (twice, actually, cause they messed up the first time) and have been growing it out ever since. But this color... this color has constantly been calling my name ever since. I might end up going back as soon as I've finished growing back to my natural color. That and the conditioner it comes with is awesome.

The color is really pretty, but made my hair look awful. I had my hair died black and the roots were faded so i decided to use this color. It turned my roots a bright red color, while the rest of my hair was still black with a slight red tint to it. It looked awful.

I decided to try this to cover up my faded, blackish brown hair. I absolutely LOVE the color; it's better than any other drugstore brand color I've used yet. After I dyed it, my hair was a beautiful reddish dark brown color, with a hint of red/purple in the sunlight. I only took off one lippie because the color faded within 2 weeks, and I could no longer notice the beautiful hints of reddish purple in my hair...but that is probably because I wash my hair every night and I was too lazy to use the conditioner every time. Still, after about a month, it hasn't completely faded...still looks great!
Btw, they changed the name of this product to Deep Burgundy or something like that, and the model is different. Same color though.

I really love this color, it's a reddish brown which I love because I can still look professional but have a red shine to my hair. It's a bit expensive for box hair dye but it comes with some conditioner which you use once a week that makes your hair really soft. I'll definatly get this again.

Just dyed my hair with this yesterday and I LOVE IT!! I started out with strawberry blonde hair and cinnamon roots. Now my roots are a deep red and the tips are dark brown. It looks awesome. Depending on different lighting; the color changes as well. Inside buildings it looks more burgandy/red, but outside it changes to a magestic deep purple. This color is simply magical and I can't wait to use it again! This will be my 5th year being a red head! Haha

I absolutley love this color. It's a brown with a subtle burgandy tone in certain lights. It's a burgandy without screaming LOOK AT ME. I HAVE BURGANDY HAIR! I love how in certain lights it looks brown, but in the sun or a backlight it's a burgandy/red tone. I would definately try it if you are curious. Believe me it's not eccentric. I'm in the military and we can't have crazy unnatural hair colors.

All I can say is that:
I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE this! I'm Asian, and unfortunately my black hair always fades to a dull brown, so I wanted to dye it a different color 'cause the brown is boring and a lot of black dyes look really fake, so I wanted to try red, and I love this! On me it turns out more red than purple-burgundy like alot of people said but it's just gorgeous!

I dyed my hair black for about a year but got tired of it fading so bad so decided to stop dying it so I can change it up a bit. It was faded to mostly a medium brown with my roots which are are mousey brown and I bought this and figured that it would be a dark brown with a hint of red. So I dyed it, and my roots were a firetruck red, the middle-y part was brown, and the ends were black. The fact that it was so many colors was my fault and I knew that there was a big chance that something like that would happen but I still figured that it wouldn't be so bright and noticeable. Now, it's faded and my hair has grown so It goes in this order: mouse brown, fadey rade, dark brown, and darker brown. I'm dying it dark brown in a little bit ahaha. My hair's a mess. I wouldn't buy this again any time soon but sometime in the future, maybe, because it's a sweet color if your hair was one color to begin with.

I used this color 2 or 3 times in the past and I always loved it. People would comment on the color of my hair frequently. Even my hair stylist at a trendy salon commented that my color looked great.
The Feria color and conditioner always left my hair shiny, soft, and smooth and at times made me want to color my hair with Feria again just for that effect.
Indoors/away from light, the color looks very dark. Under sunlight, there are multiple tones of red. The color really is multifaceted.
I go through phases of hair color between brown highlights, natural black and dark red highlights. I haven't done the chocolate cherry in awhile but will definitely use it again.

This is my HG hair colour and I hope they never change or get rid of it! I have been using it for 4 or 5 years (something I never did before this colour - I was always changed my colour), and I always get compliments on it. my b/f absolutely loves it, and my mom (a hair dresser) thinks it looks better than having it done in a salon; a more perfect colour could not have been custom made for me! I was a little scared to try it at first because I have a very pale complexion, but I've found in the past that the darker the colour the better it looks, so I gave it a go and I'm so happy that I did. my hair hasn't been excessively damaged by using it monthly for so many years, and though it does fade it's not as bad as some other reds I've tried.

I tried this shade in February and in May, there's no trace of it on my hair anymore. The color was beautiful, but dried out my hair and faded pretty fast.
I have to say it's really "multi-facet" like they advertised. In sunlight, my hair was like exactly chocolate cherry-chocolate brown with hint of burgendy purple. Under soft yellow indoor light, it's like reddish brown. just wonderful. I'll try it agan next year, when my hair is ready.
Recommend this for anyone who wants to dye hair every 3 months adn use good conditioner.

People have literally stopped me on the street to compliment my Chocolate Cherry hair, and a number of (highly respected) hair dressers have given this color the thumbs-up. The best compliment I received was from a noted hair dresser in Washington, DC, who said, "I couldn't have done better-- don't ever change this color!"
(Full disclosure: I did stop using Chocolate Cherry, after my ultra-conservative BF started calling me "Barney", in honor of the burgundy highlights that are prominent in sunlight. But I miss it! Nothing else has looked as good.)
I love Feria-- I find that if you're kind to your hair (gentle shampoo, conservative use of heat/styling, good conditioning), it lasts as long or longer than other home kits, and I like the condition of my hair better using Feria than salon processing.

Granted, I had a few highlights which came out hideously red, but the natural medium brown parts of my hair also came out a hideous red. No part of my hair resembled the color on the box, which I realize is often the case. I had to put a medium ash brown color over it to neutralize the red, which help a lot (not completely) but which left my hair way, way too dark. I think that this along with the bad haircut I got six weeks ago leaves me looking like a Michael Jackson impersonator.
I hate it.

I love this color. I have med-dark brown hair and when I use this color it has a slight purply tint to it that I love, but it's not one of those punk rock era purple looks! just very subtle! I will definately use this again.

I use Feria also, and I love it, since it doesn't fade out, and comes in a lot of great colors.

This is my trademark color that I have been using for years. It is a deep brown with burgandy tones. It looks natural and I love it.
