Huge white floral with some fruit notes.
It didn't strike me as particularly synthetic, but since big white florals are my bain, I won't go on further. Sample if you like BWFs and skip if you don't.

this is one of my all time favourite perfumes and i cant understand all the bad reviews it doesnt smell artificial it smells gorgeous! it opens up with a burst of fruit but in a very sophisticated way, it is not too sweet and just smells like lots of nice fruits and flowers. i will repurchase this fragrance as long as i possibly can as its only available online now, i get mine from ebay.
this perfume is incredibly fresh and lingers all day. it is strong so u dont need that much, perfect for squirting on straight out of the shower.

So.. enormous migraine. Imagine: melons + sweet, dull peach/prune compote (Tresor) seasoned with pimento + pop corn oil (note which I already now from Miss Dior Cherie) + smell of a flat after wall painting and renovation (chemical). Very 80-ties. Strong. And very saaad...
If you like Tresor, Incanto or Celine Dion you could try So.

This is one that I always see on discount shelves. Now I know why. The opening is synthetically-fruity-floralish, just horrible! Smelling So De La Renta freshly applied makes my temples throb a little. It dries down into an uninteresting waif of a floral. Definitely try before you buy - though I wouldn't personally recommend this one. So..... no sale!

Has some nice opening melon notes, and overall is pleasant but uninspiring. Certainly not one I will be rushing out to re-purchase when it's finished.

I usually stay away from florals because they tend to be overpowering, or too heavy on one flower, but this is a nice blend. The crazy appeal to this for me is that the first note reminds me of a mosquito repellent that my family used when I was little. So using it brings back happy memories of summer nights. It doesn't keep that scent though, and ends up being a classic fragrance.

I got this as a gift for my 21st. At the time I was planting shrubs, and because I can't go a day without fragrance I used to put this one on before work. Now when I smell it, it reminds me of earthworms and dirt. The smell itself is divine, but a little synthetic smelling to me. Nice though.

So smells like all the other melony water babies out there, all jostling and vying for top spot on the fragrance counters. It's unimaginative, it's unpoetic, it's aqueous, it's no big deal. Instead of being called So, it should be called So What?. Nice bottle and packaging, though. Too bad the juice inside doesn't live up to it.

An all time favourite of mine. It can be worn any time of the day and for any occasion. It is a versatile fragrance with very floral, feminine qualities and whatever the chemical balance of my skin is, it lasts for ages. Also, it is a perfume that others can smell on me, which is a plus, because isn't that why we wear fragrance anyway? ;-)

Hmmm...I usually don't like these types of scents, but So seems to be surprizingly pleasant... I'm not an expert, so i don't know the base/mid/top notes, but it smells really sweet(?) to me. It's not the tacky sweet scent (such as Fantasy by Britney Spears or Miss Dior Chérie, arrghh...) because there's an air of mystique and class. I usually wear Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle which is just heavenly sensual, but So is a nice alternative that smells nothing like Chanel's and is a good daytime perfume. It makes you feel really young, pure and lively (but it's not spicy smelling at all). However, I think the bottle looks and feels awkward, it's not easy to hold onto, you don't know which is the front/back and end up often turning it 300 degrees or so just to find the nozzle. The flower cap doesn't 'click' when you try to close it, so I think they could've improved on the design of the packaging.

It's a bit granny-ish smelling, but I love it! It comes in a lovely box and bottle, too. The hubby thinks it smells sexy ;)

This perfume has been out for a while now (at least since 1999) and I am still CRAZY about it. I love my perfumes and I believe you just can't have too many! I keep up-to-date on scents but as a staple I have to have My "SO DE LA RENTA". I will buy the new stuff, but I always go back to my "SO". Love it, just Love it!!!

I love this scent! I don't think it's too floral at all. It's definitely a strong scent, which I like because it lasts long. I never get tired of it!

Why the low rating? This is a lovely scent! I have always received compliments when wearing this. I'm not a massive floral fan either. To me this has enough sweetness and allure to be a thumbs up. It's quirky and pretty - and I rarely smell it about. I think it has a romantic edge but it's still quite a young fragrance. Maybe it's one of those perfumes that doesn't work for everyone.

Gives me a raging headache faster than anything on the planet (except leaf mold and an ex-boyfriend from 1997). Sick-sweet floral over Hotshot bug spray. Sooo de la wretched!

So De La Renta is a strong, icky sweet fruity floral that gives me a headache. There's nothing particularly unique or memorable about this one. For something along the same lines, but less sweet and headache-inducing, try Hugo Woman.

*revised* I still think the pink and gold box and the bottle are beautiful, but the perfume lost its excitement for me rather quickly. It remains a floral fragrance different from many of the commonplace ones out there, and can be quite nice for certain people, but it was just not...me. Even though I got it on a discount at Marshall's, I would only purchase this again for a much cheaper price.
