I simply Love this stuff. What i dont like is that it's petroleum, Id really like to stay away from that stuff, but truthfully it just moisturizes so well, its hard to give it up. i do use other things, so it's not like im buying petroleum constantly. This formula is a rose scent lovers dream! It's the perfect rose smell, not overpowering but def there, not weak. i love to inhale it while its on my lips! Im not a fan of make up , so this is a great gloss too. super shiny finish. I esp love the simple ingredient list, the petroleum and the essential oil blend, plus cottonseed oil. I do wish they'd specify what the essential oil blend is though, could be helpful for anyone with allergies. Ive also used this on dry skin areas and never had any bad reactions. I know some people enjoy dabbing it on their cheeks for a healthy glow look. packaging, eh, the tin is cute and convenient as long as you have clean fingers. I keep it at home, i wouldnt feel it would be sanitary enough to take on the go in my purse. They do make a squeeze tube now though that would work to take with you. like i sai, i use other things too, so i just keep the tin on my nightstand and a tube of diff lip balm in my purse.

It's moisturizing and smells like roses, it doesn't really do anything for your lips other than that. Okay for night use. Expensive when you consider that it's mostly vaseline.

After trying lip balm after lip balm and hand cream after hand cream...Burts Bees, Chapstick, Body Shop, Crabtree and Evelyn, etc. etc.....I have decided to try this much touted salve and was smitten. Okay, let's face it. It is a glorified version of Vaseline that comes in a cute metal tin and has a wonderfully subtle rose based scent. But the benefits certainly outweighs the cons, in my humble opinion:
Pros:
- extremely moisturizing (which in Canadian weather is a necessity)
- subtlely fragranced
- versatile (can be used as a lip balm, hand moisturizer, to smooth fly away strands, etc.)
- Convenient travel sized tin.
Cons:
- the hygiene factor - dipping your fingers into the salve. I have tried to counter this by washing my hands or using a sanitizing gel prior and after use.
- At $9.00 CDN, it may be a bit pricey but considering the multiple uses for the product versus buying three separate products (lip balm, hand cream and hair balm); it is worth the cost.
Will purchase again.

This is literally the biggest gimmick of all time. This is one of those products that have paid to be in magazines and "in celebrity's makeup bags" but is not really useful whatsoever. I've used this and the Strawberry salve for more than three years until I sadly and apprehensively finally realized that I can't convince myself any longer that this does anything for my lips. It doesn't.
Actually, it dries out the lips. And it gets your lips addicted so if you stop using you will have dry lips. Interesting texture and the pots are basically useless and unsanitary if you actually use a lot (which i find people never do).

This lip balm is great, I apply it every 3-4 hours and it leaves my lips silky and smooth. I have also used it on my cuticles as they tend to dry out since I wash my hands often. I enjoy this product so much that I have numerous tins and tubes throughout my house, in my car, purse and at work. I also put a tin in numerous gift bags at Christmas as a little something extra for my female coworkers. They all loved it too.

I really love this product and it has so many fantastic uses. From lips, cuticles, dry skin patches, to various other things like burns. I always have a tin in my handbag, just in case. While I use a different lip balm, this is definitely a fantastic use of this product. It's incredibly moisturizing and soothing, and even comes in a minted version which is specifically made for the lips. My current favorite use is on my cuticles at bedtime. I slather it all over my nails and cuticles, and follow with my favorite hand lotion. It's really done wonderful things for my cuticles and my nails. I've also used it when I burned myself cooking, and it's fantastic for that as well! A great all-around product.

Got this lip balm a while back and I love it! It feels light and not sticky on the lips and it's quite moisturizing. May be a little teeny bit oily but I'm fine with that. One of the few lip balms that work for my super dry lips.
I got the original formula, so the smell is a little like "powdery-rose", which not offending to me (I know some people find it very "grandma").
The only downside is that it's a little pricey.

I know that some people says it's overrated but I always have this lip balm in my purse. It is pretty oily but I like that feeling..especially on my lips (they need to be hydrated at all times) I really didn't like the smell at first...but it grew on me. Some people say vaseline is cheaper but this is waaaay thinner than that. Others said Nivea is cheaper. I can't stand Nivea lip products..the smell is just GROSS and over powering. anyway, I love this lip balm and it is a bit pricey but a little goes a long way and it lasts me a pretty long time. I also have the strawberry lip balm and this is my absolute favorite.

This is a really great lip balm, especially to use overnight. I don't carry this around because you have to use your fingers with this and yeah.. I like them to be clean!:)
- It does really moisturize your lips really nice and it's really effective. Cute packagin also!
But a thing I don't like about this is the smell/taste. It's like a mix of grandma and plastic if you get it in your mouth, lol. I don't like that.

Absolutely love it. It really helps with my chapped lips. I also apply it to my dry cuticles and it really helps, especially in the colder winter months. This has been my go to for years and I will keep repurchasing. Also, this shouldn't be confused with the strawberry flavor. I really don't like that one- makes my lips sting and the smell is just too harsh.

I picked this up at Sephora, the tube version which I strongly prefer to a tin. I have been using this morning and night and really, really like it. I am always looking for great products for lips because mine are very prone to dryness, cracking and peeling. I honestly didn't mind the price because I have spent more on lip products in the past. To me this works better than Aquaphor or Vaseline which I had been using for the majority of this past winter. I found this rosebud salve gave me much smoother lips.

I was recommended this baby by a Sephora's sales assistant when I initially wanted to pick up Philosophy's Kiss Me Tonight Lip Treatment, which was really small and way more expensive than Smith's Rosebud Salve. I think the price is reasonable for the huge tin this lip treat comes in, I love the scent, it is so pleasant and delicious. The texture is waxy and not oily, much like vaseline and I can see this product lasting for a while which is a thumbs up for me too. Apparently this has a few other uses as well though I have not tried it yet. When I applied this on, it did not really immediately soothe my chapped lips though but I am eager to use it more.

Although this product is a bit on the expensive side, there is a lot of product to it. I love the fresh smell of roses. This salve is pleasant to use and can be used anywhere. The tin is easy to truck around in a bag, which is a plus. Really I think the only drawback of this product is the price. As another reviewer mentioned, this is essentially rose-scented vaseline. I like this product enough to repurchase, but not at seven dollars a tin.

This product is an absolute holy grail item. It works better than any other lip product I've used. I've only had it for a few months and I've already almost hit pans, but that's not cause there is little product. It's because I use it so much! You put it on and it stays for hours and hours and hours! I also went through a period where my skin was dry to the point where it hurt right under my eyebrows and around my lips. I just put this product on and almost instantly there was less pain and the dry flakes of skin disappeared after 30 minutes or so. The smell is a bit strong, but I love the way it smells. This also works as a nice highlight if applied lightly. I only have good things to say about this product if you haven't gotten that so far.

Just bought this at BBW. It was a lil less than $6. It can be used for any dry area of skin. It can be a LOL oily feeling but it's similar to Vaseline. It has a light rose scent which is kind of a nice change from the typical chopsticks I purchase. The tin is a pretty decent size.

I have to say that overall, this is a GREAT product! It really moisturizes my lips, softens my hands, and everything that it says it does. It's great for lip care, skin care, and nail care-since it also helps with rough cuticles. The packaging is cute, with the roses on it. It smells amazing and all, but I would have to say that $6-$8 is pretty expensive for something a little similar to Vaseline. This is really healing though for chapped lips as it was for me, and it's pretty versatile. This has been lasting me a longer time than I expected, so I guess that's a plus too. I will be repurchasing this, but I would be extremely thrilled if the price was lower.

I can’t say I’ve tried many cult faves, only if they strike a chord with my curiosity. This particular item was purchased only because 1) it’s now available in a tube and 2) it just happened to be near the check-out at Bath & Body about a year ago. I used to be a huge Bath & Body fan but eventually lost interest.
I wasn’t as focused on greening my beauty regimen when I purchased this, however, I wouldn’t exactly classify the following ingredients as natural or green:
Petrolatum
Cotton Seed Oil
Trade Secret Perfume
At first, I was quite pleased to see only three ingredients listed on the package, until I did the research. Yowzers!! Trade Secret Perfume is worrisome because we don’t know the secret behind the trade; not a fan of mystery ingredients. Second, there’s nothing natural about petrolatum or cotton seed oil. After researching, the thought of applying cotton seed oil anywhere near my lips frightens me.
I will not be purchasing anything else with cotton seed in it, that’s for sure!
Now, ingredients aside, let’s move on to the application….
It feels moisturizing, but I’m not a fan of rose scented anything! The first time I applied it, the scent was overwhelming so it took some time to grow on me. It’s heavily scented. I found myself reaching for it as I was running out of lip balm and eventually ran out completely so I relied on it as a substitute. Some days, the scent seemed more noticeable than others. If you like the smell of roses, you’ll love this stuff.
It’s rose colored as well but doesn’t show up on my lips as they are fairly pigmented already. I paid $6 for this 30m tube, I was fine with that considering it’s a cult favorite. Normally, I don’t pay more than $3 for lip balm. I can’t say it was the best lip balm I’ve ever used, it’s fairly hydrating but due to the ingredients and price, I won’t be buying this again.
