I got a small tester sized (medium to tan) version of this product in the mail, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I mainly wanted to target my legs because they're always a bit more white than the rest of me, and shorts season is here!
I have to say that I am very impressed. I applied it once and by the next morning saw that I had a healthier colour to my legs. After two applications, I thought I'd better stop before my legs got disproportionally dark compared to the rest of me. It dries quickly if you rub it in, there's no need to let it dry more than a few minutes before getting dressed.
No orange colour like the last tanner I used 5+ years ago, and less of a nasty scent (although let's be honest, after an hour or so you still start to smell it). As for the firming aspect, I don't think any of us believe that it really works, but the colour does definitely help to camouflage cellulite imperfections.
I found that it did come out streaky on my shins, but only because I didn't rub it in well enough. Be extra careful on areas where the skin is thinner, it seems to come out a bit streaky if you don't really rub it in.
I will definitely go out and buy the full size! It will be a great product for maintaining and evening out my tan this summer.

This product gives you a natural tan. I noticed the color change the next day but it builds up throughout the week if you apply it everyday. As for the firming part I think it does help. I don't really have that much of a problem with cellulite so I assume the firming is for people that have little to no cellulite. Other than that, I really like this self-tanner because it looks natural:)

Since this has been re-formulated, I LOVE THIS STUFF. Now this is coming from someone with next to no, and I mean NO color/pigment to the skin. I am as white as a sheet of paper. Every self-tanner I have tried leaves me a streaky orange mess! But this one goes on so much like a regular moisturizer, just with the added benefit of a tanned, glowing complexion. I can't say I notice any "firming" but that was not the reason behind the purchase. After only one time, I saw a huge difference in coloring, and after two times I was getting asked if I was tanning in the beds. As for the scent, I really enjoy the scent of the lotion for the first hour or so, then comes the not so lovely tanner smell;however, it is not that strong at all, especially compared to instant self-tanners. Bottom line, love it, will definitely repurchase.

Eh. Not worth buying. I don't notice any firmer skin, but I got it on sale and was never really concerned about its firming properties. It does make my skin look naturally tan, but the smell is horrendous. When I put it on and go out in public, I'm embarrassed and self-conscious. When I put it on before bed and have to sleep near the scent, it's even worse. Guh-ross and not worth it. There are way better self-tanning lotions that smell normal. I like the foaming mousse version of this product, which actually smells pretty good (though it's way more expensive).

I have a love/hate relationship with this product. It gives a beautiful natural glow, so in that respect it does live up to the name. However, the smell is atrocious. They advertise that it is improved and has no smell but that is a lie. Within twenty minutes of application I cant stand myself. By the next morning, it is unbearable. My experience is that it wears off evenly. I do believe it is the best drugstore brand, but that smell keeps me from giving a better score.

I love this product. I love the feel - very moisturizing for my arms and legs. I live in Michigan and I start using this in February when I wonder if I'll ever feel the warm sun again.:) I actually don't mind the smell at all - it reminds me of summer.

I am absolutely IN LOVE with this product. I've tried other self tanners and they have all left me looking streaky, or I look like a carrot, especially when it stained your skin so bad, it took another week for it to be exfoliated off in the shower. With Jergens i found it was cheap, it lasted longer than anything else I've ever used, and it doesn't look fake. Im already fair-skinned, It takes forever for me to tan, even using a tanning bed. I used Jergens for 1 week, applied in the morning, and at night. and My skin tone went from "i just crawled out from underneath a rock" tone, to "i've been in cuba for 2 weeks tone" i was SO pleased :D I would recommend this to anyone!

I really liked the effect that this gave.
After a couple of days I had a really nice tan, however it faded in a spotty pattern and made me really self-conscious.
I would buy it, except for the fading problem which could just be my skin?

I have been using this for about four years; I can't believe I somehow haven't written a review for this great lotion in all that time.
This is probably the best under $10 subtle self-tanner on the market. You can even put it on when you're kind of drunk (speaking from experience) and end up with even, natural looking color and no streaks or weird spots. I use this in medium, because I am very pale and the light shade doesn't do enough for me.
Never looks orange or fake, always looks like real sun color. Moisturizes well, dries quickly - this is a fool-proof way to add color daily. It doesn't really start to build up until after about a week and then it starts to fade in a rather unfortunate way 2-3 days after that, so keep that timeline in mind if you need a certain amount of tan for an event or weekend away.
Never has irritated my sensitive skin. Not sure the 'firming' ingredients really do much, but the placebo effect keeps me buying that version of the Natural Glow. Can't recommend this enough if you're looking for a beautiful, even, light tan tone without the dangerous rays of the sun.

Overall, this is a good product. It made my legs 1-2 shades darker during first application. I'm only applying when needed and not everyday because I fear my legs will come out looking like overly faked tan. The firming is aiiight. I have some cellulite on my upper thigh that needs a miracle worker. If my cardio and weights arn't getting rid of it, I doubt Jergens 7.99 bottle can. However, the tan helps hide flaws! I'm just going to own my nice tan cellulite in a cute pair of daisy dukes.

I am very impressed with this lotion. I should mention that I have been a faithful user of Neostrata Insta tan for the last 10 years or so. I was looking for something less prciey and thought I'd give this a try. Now I normally shy away from gradual sunless tanners because I'm impatient and I like instant results. But I love this stuff. It smells nice, not nasty like other tanning lotions. It gives a nice natural-looking tan that is very believable. I even like the small amount of shimmer it gives my skin and I can tell that it does a good job of firming. This is holy grail to me.

I love being able to get some color without all the sun damage but spray tans have never been for me which is why I really love self tanners, especially Jergens. You can adjust the color just by how often you put it on. The fair to medium is a little too light for me and the medium to tan is a little to dark if used on a regular basis so I alternate between both of them and my regular lotion and I love the color as well as how soft my skin is! I'm not sure about the "firming" powers of the lotion but the coloring definitely helps hide any imperfections. The only downside is the smell (which is pretty strong) and how long it takes to absorb if you put it on without showering before. Pretty easy to remedy by just showering (and exfoliating) and putting it on the night before. The wake up with soft, beautifully tan looking skin! : )

This is my third try with a Jergens Natural Glow product. I used the original when it first came out, but I couldn't get over the smell. A few years later I heard they had reformulated the original product, so I tried it out again. It didn't smell as bad, but it was super streaky and blotchy. I've been doing more self tanning than I usually do lately, so I decided to give Jergens one more chance. I only went for the Firming because the bottle had 25% more for the same price as the rest.
This isn't the best self tanner I've ever used, but it does what it claims to do. It gives a natural looking, healthy glow to your skin. I prefer self tanners that give deep, dark color in just a few applications, and this does not do that. But it will darken your skin a few shades with repeated use.
I love how easy this is to use. It literally feels just like any other body lotion. You just rub it in completely and you're done. Some self tanners can really dry out the skin, but this one is incredibly moisturizing. I do wish this had a color guard just to be sure you don't miss any spots, but I can live without it. This also dries crazy fast -- I'd say in about 3 minutes you're good to put your clothes on and resume your daily activities, as long as they don't involve sweating. I personally prefer to use this at night right before bed. By morning your color has developed and the smell is nonexistent.
Speaking of the smell, this stuff smells really good! It has a caramel-y, creme brulee kind of scent that never develops into that nasty, burning skin self tanner smell.
I've never had streaking problems with this, and it doesn't fade in any weird ways. I do exfoliate about twice a week when I use this, which helps keep drier spots from turning too dark and keeps it from fading in splotches.
The biggest downside to this is that you have to be really consistent. I applied this daily for about a week before the full color developed, and after that I have to apply it every other day or else the color will fade very quickly. I once went 3 days without applying this and I had lost almost all the color. It's not such a big deal since this is so easy to use, but it's not a step I want to add nearly every day, either. This also means you'll run out of the bottle pretty quickly if you use it all over the body like I do.
By the way, the "firming" claims are bogus. This definitely didn't reduce any cellulite, nor did it firm my skin at all.
Overall, if you want to add a little color, or if you're new to self tanning I'd recommend this. If you like really dark color or if you don't like reapplying daily, I'd go for something else. I definitely see myself using this a lot in the winter when I don't want to be crazy dark, but I need to add a little color to my skin.

I am very fair skinned, and decided that I didn't want to be so pale this summer so I purchased this fake tanning lotion. My skin is full on pale white so I purchased the fair to medium skin tone bottle. I showered, exfoliated, and rubbed it all over my body like I normally do with regular lotion. The next morning I was pleasantly surprised to see a golden brown tan all over my body, it looked very natural and pretty. I don't even have to keep putting in on again like the bottle says day after day. One day a week would suffice for my skin to stay a pretty golden. This is my first experience with self tanner, and I didn't get any streaks or orange hands and feet. It was very easy to use and hard to mess up.
Pros:
An over all golden tan
Easily applied, small amount works wonders for all over glow
Fool-proof- I didn't streak or have orange hands and feet
Cons:
Stinks HORRIBLY for one night after application ( went away after next morning shower)
Bottle is slippery to use when you've used lotion and need to pour more

I bought a Jergens brand self tanner forever ago and the smell bothered me so much that I had to give it to a friend, but I heard that they changed their formula so I decided to give it another shot. I got this in light-medium because I am seriously white - like, Casper the Friendly Ghost white - and it is literally impossible for me to tan. I like my pale skin but I do appreciate a product that takes the edge off a bit (so my legs aren't quite as reflective) and this does the job.
It doesn't smell bad anymore to the point that I feel comfortable putting it on after I shower as a moisturizer. After two days of use, my legs are already fit to go outdoors. I plan on using it every other day now until I feel like I'm getting unnatural looking and then I'll keep it on hand for whenever I fade to translucent again!
It's easy to apply and doesn't streak - just remember to wash your hands when you're done. Also, watch your knees and the backs of your ankles because they will tend to go darker than the rest of you.

This product makes absolutely no noticeable difference in the color of my skin. I used to use it every night. It left my skin sticky while I slept, which was unpleasant, and even after using most of the bottle, I didn't look any tanner. It was really a waste of my money and I won't be buying it again.

I used this years ago when it first came out (the regular, non-firming) in light/medium with fantastic results. I bought it again recently with the additional "firming" because I thought, what the hell, it probably won't work but it couldn't hurt - I was more interested in the tanning than the firming. So after two weeks of using everyday on my legs and butt I'm completely disappointed. My lower body looks EXACTLY the same color as my upper body. WTF! Not even a subtle barely there tan. And of course the total lack of firming was no surprise. I don't know if I got a bum batch or what but I may try the next color, medium/dark. Luckily, this stuff is cheap so I can experiment or trash it if it continues to not deliver.

I purchased this in Light to Medium.
I never tried a self-tanner before; this is my first one, and I'm sorry to say that I won't be using this again, or ANY self-tanner again. This product has unfortunately given me the impression that self-tanners are bad--which is a shame, because I always trust MUA reviews! I can't believe all the reviewers here saying that they actually had firmer, tanner legs!
I purchased this thinking that in a week I would get tanned, moisturized legs and arms. Um, yeah, riiiight.
After consistently using this daily for 5 days, my pale legs now have orangey splotches all over them!
I haven't experienced any firming qualities for my jiggly thighs, but honestly I didn't expect a lotion to help them firm unless I did constant sets of squats and lunges. Can't comment on the cellulite-reducing promise because I don't have cellulite.
Some other things that really piss me off about this product: the SPARKLES and the SCENT. The smell smells like OLD GRANNY.
Why does everything sold in drugstores have to have sparkles and fragrance in it? I don't know about you, but I think it's illogical to waste money on adding sparkles or fragrance in products that consumers don't like at all. Jeeeez. And since when does a tanning moisturizer need sparkles and old granny scents in them anyway?
I normally give time for products to work their magic, but I just can't keep using this because I'm afraid that the more I use it, the more splotches I'll get, so I'm throwing this away.
My legs were much better off without using this in the first place. I'd rather have pale even legs than pale splotchy legs!
Great--now I have to go out in the sun and fix this splotchy problem myself. No way am I purchasing this or any self-tanner again.
Not worth the $9 I paid.
Would I repurchase? No.

I have just bought this product and I really enjoying it. I have been using it for just a few days now and my skin has turned into a very nice tan color and it looks great! Everyone wondered how I became so tanned in so little time. One thing I don't like about this product is the smell but it's nothing to difficult to handle. Another would be to believe in its "firming" qualities. A hint I would suggest would be to avoid the knee area since it is already a few shades darker than the skin around it. Nice product, I didn't expect it to work so well.

Overall, this is a good self tanner. I rate this 4 out of 5 stars. I have very fair skin and after just a few days of using this product, I developed a light tan. You could shower at night then apply this but I recommend applying this at night then showering the next morning. I had just the tiniest bit of streaking without showering the next morning, but if you do shower the next morning that top layer (streaking) will come off and still leave the tan beneath. It takes a couple or few days longer to get the color you want this way but I would rather that then have a little streaking. Btw, I have next to white skin (no pigment) so the fact that I had just a tiny bit of streaking must mean this product is amazing! As for the firming cellulite, I did not notice any difference (but thats no surprise). However, I have some very light acne scars on my shoulders and those were blended in and just about erased after the tan set in. So a little discoloration should be diminished or blended away with this product as well.
