Love this product, love it! Have it in 2 colors, will buy one more soon. Looking forward to them adding a blue or blue grey. It's so pretty and easy to apply!

I'm really disappointed in this product especially after reading so many glowing reviews on both this website and Sephora. I have recently been introduced to cream eyeshadows (specifically Smashbox Limitless Lid) and have been impressed with the staying power. It is no longer made and only came in two colors so I did some research on Sephora and found that the Tarte was supposed to be waterproof and came in a ton of colors. So off I went trying to swap for and buy as many as I could. I got my first one in the mail yesterday and immediately put it on at about 1p.m. I was super pleased and excited with the application and was eagerly awaiting the moment before bed where I could wash it off after admiring how pretty my eyelids looked and how crease resistant it was. So, bedtime came at 10 p.m. and I went into the bathroom to look at my eyes for the first time since I applied the shadow at 1 p.m. and there was no shadow on my eyes with the exception of one very dark, very straight and greasy line at my crease. I'm so disappointed because my other eyeshadow would still be intact. Now I have a half dozen different colors coming to me from Makeupalley and Ebay and they crease on me! Today I'm going to try it over a good primer to see if it still creases and I will update this review accordingly. However, if it still creases I'm breaking the package apart and keeping the powder and throwing away the cream because I love the roller ball powder application! UPDATE: This is definitely not waterproof as it claims. It washes off very easily just running it under water.

I got this product in a color called Amethyst as part of a set online @ Sephora. I think it was brennan's favorite? Anyway, the color is beautiful, the cream formula is long lasting and totally crease proof. It made the most gorgeous, easy smokey eye, and I got TONS of compliments on it. It really brought out my green eyes as well. As far as I know, it doesn't come in a full size tube, which is sad to me, because it didn't take me long to use it all up in a flash!

Just tried this in gunmetal. Have worn for the last 3 days and love it. Normally greys make me look tired but this doesn't. And it lasts! Normally everything creases on me or ends up under my eyes even with high end primer, but not this stuff. About to buy in bronze and rose gold.

I first tried this e/s in bronze in the glitz and glam set from sephora and I LOVED it so much, finally an eyeshadow I could really get behind. It was easy to apply, went from day to night easily and it was pretty goof proof. Best of all my husband actually made a comment about how much he liked the way it looked which is a first. I went ahead and bought 2 full sizes from Tarte at 40% off. I got gunmetal and patina(light green).
The full sizes are slightly bigger than the bronze one I first received and the patina one seems to be a different formula. The packaging with the patina e/s is also different. The cream side and powder side tubes are see through and the cream was somewhat separated in the tube, even after shaking the hell out of it. Applying the cream was watery and hard to keep even. It also took longer to dry. The final result was kind of ho hum. I am really disappointed because the bronze one I got in the set was so awesome. I will update if anything changes. Just be warned about the patina color it is not the same quality as the bronze. I just realized sephora does not offer this color on their website. I wonder if this one was a "first effort" and they decided to keep selling them.

I was looking for a cream eye shadow with staying power and that would not crease. This product lasts all day and does not crease. I purchased Rose Gold. When I was Sephora I swatched all the colors this one seem the prettest for a day time look. I do find that it is easy to put on too much of the cream product on. Also, like other reviews, I find the roller ball a bit tricky. I do love the Rose Gold color; it is very pretty.

I bought this in Gunmetal and I really like the shade and wear of this product. It's easy to use and lasts all day. Unfortunately the cream is too light for me to wear on it's own and the powder is just too glittery to be appropriate for day wear. I really wish this brand would offer up something a bit less gaudy for those of us that may like the product but don't enjoy looking like they are going to Mardi Gras every day. This stuff looked great in my bathroom but it looked over the top with the sparkles in natural light. If they offer some shades with less glitter I would definitely repurchase.

I got three of these in the Sephora wateproof summer essential set. This set came with Lavender, Teal and Champagne. I really love the champagne color and the concept of all of these shadows. I did have a little trouble the first application because the cream shadow does dry very quick so you have to work to get an even layer on your eyelid. I think maybe a different maybe doefoot application would work better than the tiny brush. The brush would be better if using it as a liner. The teal and purple are VERY intense, imo. I would use those two colors for liner but not for an everyday work appropriate look. I do like the champagne color and it lasted all day without any creasing. I would repurchase in a natural tone in the future.

I own this in Bronze, and I plan on purchasing all of them except the one everyone seems to hate, which is called Sandstone I think. Anyway, this product is fantastic and exceeded my expectations by a million miles. I applied the cream shadow only (no primer and without using the powder roller stuff) at 2:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m. I did my 30-minute weight training routine at the gym, which causes me sweat profusely. My shadow didn't budge. A couple hours later I decided I was kind of tired and took a 45-minute nap. When I awoke at 7:00 p.m. the eyeshadow had faded ever so slightly but still looked beautiful. My waterproof mascara and eyeliner had run all over my face, of course. I cannot say enough about how great this product is. The powder portion of this duo adds a lot of intensity and richness to the color and is more of a copper than a bronze on me. I like the look, but I prefer the cream on its own. This is well worth the $17.00 I paid for it, and I'm going back for more. Highly recommended.

I purchased Lock & Roll in Sandstone, primarily to be a shadow base or a quick neutral eye. I'm strawberry blonde with very fair skin, so I chose Sandstone because it was described as "ivory beige", which sounded like a good match for a shimmery light eye. Nope. The cream side of Sandstone is a flat medium beige color, your generic "nude" Barbie skin tone. The shimmer was lighter beige, but didn't serve to lighten the cream base any. I applied the cream very lightly, having read reviews that a little goes a long way. It definitely stays put, but the first hour it felt cakey even though it was dry. Since then it feels uncomfortable, like my eyelids are sweating. Granted, the shadow is staying put, and the eyeliner I applied over the cream shadow wouldn't smudge a bit (even when I wanted it to). Kudos to Tarte for making a less toxic eye product, there's not a lot of product but it will last a long time. However it's uncomfortable to wear, and the color selection is definitely geared toward med to dark skin tones. I've already put it in the return mail.

the concept is awesome, but if you have sensitive eyes, you won't like this. I got the gunmetal colored one.. it looked beautiful on... but the loose e/s gets in my eyes, and made my eyes red.... returned this item!

Oh my gosh! For the longest time I've been searching for a true bronze eyeshadow that looked just like this one and I can't believe that I actually found it! This is THE best eyeshadow that I've ever experienced and what they say is true, it simply DOES NOT CREASE. I use the thin side of the cream blush to fill in my eyes and then let them dry for about..10 seconds before doing the rollerball. It really locks it down and call me crazy, but I think it's actually fun as you can use the roller to add emphasis to anywhere you want on your lid! I only own Bronze now but am heading back to Sephora before work to pick up Gunmetal.

I love these. I have gunmetal, quartz, slate and sandstone. They pair up nicely with Tarte's EmphasEyes liner for a quick eye mu look. Gunmetal and Slate are great for a smokey eye. They are shimmery so I apply the cream on just my lid and the powder on top and into the crease. This looks natural enough that I can wear it during the day. The staying power and pigment is amazing. Budge proof on my very oily lids.

I guess I'm the only person who doesn't love these! I really wanted to, but I found that the shadow stayed, but then if would kind of peel and shift, so there were parts of my lid that were clumpy and really icky looking and parts that had no color left on them. I applied a thin layer of the cream shadow and blended it out with my MAC 217, so I don't think I applied the product too thickly which is what I would think would cause a problem like the one I had. I tried this twice and had the same problem both times.
I have this in slate, and I do love the color. Together the cream and roll on give an intense shimmery silver color that is extremely pretty. I wouldn't wear this for all day wear, but for a short cocktail date or something; this shadow with some black eyeliner would be a gorgeous simple look.

LOVE this. I have it in Rosegold, and the cream AND powder together are a little...strong...for my taste--definitely not for the fainthearted, or those into the natural look. The cream is very metallic looking, imo, but wearable enough.

What I really adore, however, is the powder with the rollerball. The application is AMAZING. Smooth, even, easy. Stays on forever on my oily lids with primer, and the color is so beautiful and pigmented. For easy application, I used to apply powder shadows with my finger, and I found this has almost the same effect--melts into your skin, smudges nicely, looks effortless.

Update: Upping this product to five lippies, I went to a movie premiere, rubbed my eyes through the entire thing (long day + boring movie), and when I cam home, I expected to find a MESS on my lids, but nope! Looked like I'd JUST applied it! Lovelovelove.

Ok... i don't own this shadow (keyword: yet, hehe) but i did test it out at Sephora... this is an awesome locking shadow, by that i mean it really locks in... after u roll on the shadow dust on top of the layer of shadow cream, it stays on really good (i tested on the back of my hand, and rubbed it... didn't budge). the colors i played w/ were gunmetal and slate... both were gorgeous colors.. man, if i wasn't being frugal right now, i would've totally grabbed them. they obviously impressed me b/c i don't own them but am doing a review on them... go get 'em ladies!

I purchased this on impulse after a friend recommended it on a trip to Sephora, and I have to say it's one of the best purchases I've made in a while. I got Patina, the shimmery light green, and it is incredible. I thought it would be difficult to apply since the cream end has a tiny brush and the powder end just has a tiny roller ball but it was easy. A little goes a LONG way, and it stays put ALL DAY. And the color is beautiful. At $17, it's well worth the money. Highly recommended!

UPDATE: So far I've tried the Rosegold, Gunmetal, and Bronze shades, and was unimpressed with all three shades. I'm still in love with the Patina, though.

I use this almost every day. Love it. I have it in rosegold, patina and gunmetal. The creme shadow plus the power equals AMAZING stay power that lasts all day. One note would be that the powder goes on much better if I roll it out onto my hand and apply it with my MAC 242 brush rather than with fingers or trying to roll it on my eyelid. Awesome stuff.

I will say that you do not get alot of product for the money with this BUT it is a cool set. I have this in the green and the gold. They are both great. Quick & Easy too- that what I look for lol. It's not something I use everyday so I don't mind paying a little more for it. Overall would definalty buy again.
