This is one of my favourite polishes. Like a previous reviewer said, it looks like granite counter top- and its totally gorgous! I have the non holo version and I love it nontheless! Everyone should have this in their collection!

I have the "brown" version of the OPI My Private Jet, and although the holo one looks nice, I really like the version that I have.
I think the colour is absolutely gorgeous and I always feel really chic with this colour on even if it is 'dark'. I feel like this is a colour you could get away with wearing even in a stricter work environment. It has a lot of depth to it, and the amber sheen you see in the bottle doesn't translate onto your nails, which I don't mind. I would say it's a dark grey charcoal, it's not black-as-the-night black. It goes opaque in 2 coats, but if you prefer, you can always do 3. The consistency isn't too thick or runny, and it's easy to apply.
With a top coat it lasts around 4 days.
I really don't mind I don't have the "original" version, this polish, no matter what formulation you get, is still gorgeous.

New Version review: Bad a$$, elegant and girly. Granite grey shimmer with lots of fine silvery sparkle and I notice in sunlight a slight brown-burgundy shift. Good for autumn and winter if you coordinate by season. Good night time summer/special occasion color. Two coats gives opaque coverage and three is killer. This is a staple in any nail wardrobe. I love this color and would repurchased again. For reference I am NC10, honey blonde hair, teal eyes.

I love love love this polish it's probably my favorite color of all time. And who cares if it's been reformulated it's still a nice fun polish. I could literally spend hours staring at this in the sun because to me it looks a lot like granite counter tops with opalescent specks in it. I love it abd I don't care what anybody says its a great polish!

This is one of my favorite shades to wear. I love dark shades but do not like plain black on my nails. This is a dark grey and is just gorgeous. I love the microglitter. It's so pretty to look at in the sun. :)

this is my favorite opi color. but yes, i'm that girl. it's dark and rainbow sparkly. bad-ass and girly all in one. it sets great, and has great staying power...especially when coated by the revlon long-life no chip top coat (my secret weapon!). of course it looks like they're only making it in gel color now...way too involved for me. so, i've resorted to purchasing it online...

i got a mini bottle of the holo version as a winner of a blog contest and let me tell you, it is gorgeous!! i do not even want to use it because i just have a small decant of it, but i sure do love staring at it! :D
if you come upon the holo version, grab it! i mean, if its at a decent price, i would NOT ever pay more than like 20 or 25 bucks for a bottle of this polish! but its beautiful!

I think this is the fugliest nail polish color I own (at least one of them). It has a shimmery warm brown/gray color to it... But the glitter inside is not even sparkly. It looks like plain white micro chunks in there. I think the polish would be better without them. This is referring to the newest version of My Private Jet, not the original holographic one. I love OPI's formula and the way it goes on the nails, this color is just ugly and that is a shame. I use it when I don't feel like wasting my other nicer colors.

I have turned away from OPI My Private Jet for a long time mostly because of this "multi version controversy": the original is holo, the other version is non-holo. Both versions are intriguing and creative, but the one I picked was the non-holo version and it really works for me. I also took a peak at the famous online marketplace and one seller has priced MPJ Holo for around $75.00. Would I go that far to buy the Holo MPJ version? Nope.
The fun part of my browsing for a pink color at the local beauty salon (last week) was to spot 2 bottles of non-holo MPJ sitting on the bottom shelf. Hah, was I happy! And I'm so glad I actually bought it this time instead of neglecting it. It's a great addition to my collection because I didn't have any nail polish with such a color variation combo: it's black/brown/charcoal... and the even distribution of sparkles/glitter it's so classy and soooooo smooth to the touch similar to Trendsetter and Ruby Pump by CG ( unlike those "sandpaper" glitter types) .
The color reminds me of the Black River (in the Amazon): it looks black from a distance but when you look it again, it's dark translucent, dimensional, darkest brown.
I have no problem with the wide brush or formula. So far I only find bottles selling for about $10 each in local salons, not too bad I guess. It dries fast enough, used 1- 2 coats.
Finally "My Private Jet" non-holo it's a must have mysterious dark nail polish. I know it's on my collection now and I love it!

I have the non-hologram version of this polish. It's one of those that looked really interesting in the bottle but for some reason I just never reach for it when I am choosing a color, as I find myself gravitating toward reds/purples. I've had it for a year and only used it 3 times. However, that's going to change!
I used this color on my nails a couple days ago and I love it. I don't even like shimmery/sparkly polish! It's dark but doesn't look black - more like brown/charcoal depending on lighting, and honestly when I wear it I always have people grabbing my hand to look at my nail polish more closely. The polish is so interesting. It goes on really nice and smooth too.
I will be going abroad for 6 months next year and I need to choose very few nail polishes to take with me that will get me through the winter with some variety. This will definitely be one of them!

I have the non-holo version of MPJ and have to say I'm disappointed. In the bottle, it is a rich brown with silver sparkles, simply gorgeous. But once you put it on, the first coat is too thin, but the second coat just makes it look black. There are plenty of black polishes with silver glitter, OPI, I wanted something that doesn't look like I missed Halloween.

Absolute Gorgeous! This is an absolute beautiful color! I believe I have the non halo version of this. It is a dark gray almost black base with silver specks. I don't normally tend to be drawn to dark nails but I decided to give this a try and I'm glad I did. Such a surprising color. Definitely a repurchase.

I have the non-holo version of this too; the version with more of a brown base. I love this polish. It is so thick it could be a one coater, though I always do two. It reminds me of a beautiful granite countertop, actually. I don't know why I would want my fingernails to look like miniature granite countertops, but I love this very neutral, very unusual polish very much :)

I also have the non-halo version of this polish. I think that it's a cute color (it's basically chocolate brown with flecks of glitter), definitely nice for winter. My only gripe is that the glitter flecks are a little too chunky for my liking (clean up is a tad bit harder), but not a deal breaker. The consistency is pretty nice and smooth, considering the glitter flecks are a little chunky.

I agree with some of the other comments. I'm sure the holographic version of the past was pretty cool, but this looks better in the bottle than on your nails.Instead of sparkles, the flecks in this polish look like white speckles when you're inside.

I have the charcoal/brown one with random specks of holo shimmer in it. It's DEFINITELY my go-to fall/winter dark shade. I love it, I get SO MANY compliments :)!!! People always ask to borrow that color!

I've had this polish for a long time & kinda forgot about it until I saw it pop up on my MUA latest reviews. Lucky for me, I have the original holo version. I saw the new version at the store yesterday & it is UGLY! It looks NOTHING like the original. I don't know how OPI can deny that they changed it. I don't know why they changed it, especially to something so hideous. The original is very cool. I just wish the base color was darker.
If they still had the original version I would definitely recommend, but not the version they're selling now. That's a whole lotta fug.

One of the best polishes I have. Not too black, or grey or brown, but all those mentioned are blended together with decent amount of glitter. Which is not too sparkly. Very stylish polish. I use it now under silver shatter and it is very beautiful.
