PROS: Works wonderfully for my very oily teen. Helps control flakes without increase in acne.


CONS: May let a bit of acne break through (might be a tad too moisturizing for some who are truly acne prone.)


ALTERNATES: Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer seems to be better for someone who is just oily or only slightly acne prone, where this one is better for those who are truly acne prone.

It has a pleasant smell to it. I use this right after washing my face with a face cleanser. I don't think it did anything to my skin, especially not fighting breakouts like it said it would because I still had breakouts while using the product. I just used it simply as a moisturizer.

I have been using this moisturizer for the past 2 years and I am on my second bottle but to me, it is an okay product. Noting too great about it. I have just been using it for such a long time because I couldn't find any other moisturizer during the 2 years until recently when I switched to Aveeno Smart Essentials Nighttime Moisture Infusion.
Honestly, it didn't help clear up acne nor does it smooth my skin. It actually would sometimes cause breakouts because of the amount of oil that would be on my face in the morning from using this product. My face would look super duper shiny and oily.
So now, I just use this moisturizer before applying sunscreen instead of using it at night.
After finishing my second battle, I would not be buying it again and I don't recommend it to anyone who has oil skin like myself because you would wake up with an oily mess on your face.

Finally a product marketed as a BHA that actually has the correct percent of sacilyic acid and ph! It has a small amount of anti-irritants (rice protein and the sacilyic acid itself) but it is still good!
This also has acrylates wich I find can sometimes feel hard and sticky but there is not a lot so it is not a concern of mine. I find this easy to wash off. In the beginning I could use a dab now it still helps but I have to up the dosage. With this you must wear sunscreen to avoid sunburns as long as you do this you should be fine.

This moisturizer is great. I've been using this moisturizer since 7th grade. (I'm in 11th grade now).

I use this with the C&C Morning Glow SPF 15. I use that on my forehead, because I used to have breakouts on my forehead when I used to have bangs, and Morning Glow clears up my forehead.

I use this product for the rest of my face excluding the forehead. I used to use this as a spot treatment. If my skin gets a breakout because of the other moisturizer, I use this on the pimple and use the other moisturizer around it, and vice versa. But then my skin freaked out on me earlier this year, and that didn't work anymore. I still use this and the other one though.

I have combination skin, and I feel like this doesn't make my skin oilier. I'm just naturally shiny on my t-zone lol. If you want oil control, I don't recommend this. I use this to keep my skin clear.

I like the packaging. I prefer pumps better than pots because it's more hygienic. When I travelled, I decided to put some of this moisturizer in a small container instead of bringing the whole bottle, and my skin broke out though I didn't change my regime and routine. It was just unhygienic to dip my fingers in the same container for moisturizer.

I used this lotion on my acne prone and oily skin for about a year. It's just okay. It did nothing for my acne, but it didn't break me out either. The lotion is a bit oily and makes my face shinier faster. I wouldn't recommend this for oily skin types. I've found something much better since.

Th is product made my skin break out worse than any moisturizer i've tried. It made my skin very oily and the moisturizing effect never set into my skin instead it just seemed to sit on top of it.

LOVE THIS! I compare this to my Aveeno Clear Complexion Moisturizer which is nearly $10 more! This moisturizer really moisturizes your skin while preventing break outs. ALSO: if you acne or breakouts on your shoulders, chest, back, where ever, this eliminates it!! I recommended this to my friend who had pretty bad acne on her back, and this stuff cleared it! I apply it on my back and chest so it prevents and clears any :)

This makes my skin so soft and moisturized!! If you have very oily skin this maybe too moisturizing for you!!! I love that it also helps with acne. It makes makeup look better, also!! Worth a try!! :)

I've been getting these little bumps in between my eyebrows and on the sides of my nose and thought a product with salicylic acid would help, so I purchased this. I've used it for 3 days. I now have 6 very large, swollen bumps underneath my skin. They're quite painful and bothersome. Actually two bumps on the right side of my nostril have conglomerated into one big, very painful lump. No, I will not repurchase this.

Best ever! My HG moisturizer! My skin has been a grease SLICK since junior high and I've always washed it with industrial strength cleanser - followed by not even moisturizing cause my skin is so greasy.. This was the first moisturizer I ever used and it is amazing!
-Absorbs easily
-Doesn't clog pores, doesn't cause breakouts, non-greasy feel
-Relatively gentle (worked with most things - was a bit harsh when I was on high dose topical retinoids..)
-Has a clean scent
-Slight tingly feel

My only minor complaint (if any) is that the container used to suck for travelling, but now the lid locks so..awesome!
Would recommend to any acne-prone person who doesn't have super super sensitive skin!

I am not exaggerating when I say that Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Treatment saved my skin. In the past two years or so, I developed acne around my jawline that comes and goes - and when it comes, it is gross. I'd tried several other anti-acne treatments, but nothing I've used works as well or improves my skin like this one does.

I use this once a day, in the morning, under sunblock. The breakouts along my jawline have diminished almost entirely. What's more, this product leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth that it's unbelievable, especially for an anti-acne product.

I'm not sure how well this would work if you had truly severe acne, but for adults suffering from localized breakouts, this is a great product.

HG acne control moisturizer (so far - about to try Olay Pro-X) but this is THE BEST acne control moisturizer I have ever tried and for the price you really cannot beat it. I haven't seen all the greatest reviews on here about it which I'm surprised about, but then again, everyone has different skin, different needs, different preferences. This is the moisturizer from Clean&Clear that is in the gray tube w/ blue writing, it has a pump which turns to prevent air from entering or from drying it out... I bought this because I have a tendency towards dry skin but it is considered combination as I can also have problems with oil. I got it because I tend to go for the milder forms of acne treatment and this moisturizer has 0.05% rather than say 2% like many products due. I find using a lesser amount of salicilyic acid in general helps my skin much more than bombarding it with higher doses even if I am having a breakout. At first I was afraid to put this all over my face because I was afraid of being dried out but from the moment I started putting some on I fell in love with it. The smell is very nice, not too strong, the texture is that of a not too thin and not too thick moisturizer... I woke up in the morning with nicely hydrated skin. It does help my acne. It helps to keep it at bay. I alternate using this at night with another more expensive moisturizer.. This is a nice one to have for that purpose if you don't want to use up an expensive one as fast and also have acne concerns.. I don't have major acne but I was breaking out a lot b/c I couldn't figure out what was causing it - I finally realized it was L'oreal True Match.. So I have gone back to Revlon for now. Anyway... I will not go without having this moisturizer I was very surprised, very impressed, will repurchase again and again.

Murad is going to hate me. I found this after LOTS of research. They make a .5% salicylic acid treatment that is horribly expensive, but effective. So I was hunting and hunting for a drugstore version. This is it! I'm 36 but have always had acne. I use this as my nighttime treatment/moisturizer and it does work. Keeps the blackheads and zits under control, at least for me. You can feel it tingling for a while after you put it on. I like the design of the bottle too. It's easy to tell when it's closed so it's great for travel/gym etc. Well worth the 6 bucks!

I used the old version of this product few years ago.
It left my skin dry and with white and red patches.
I didn't buy it again and I will never will.

Love this! i put it on at night and in the morning under my makeup. I started using it because my face started drying up from my facewash and that didnt look very pretty. This thing works wonders for dry skin. It helps acne too, i didnt really see a huge difference in mine, but i will definately be getting this again!

This product is nothing special. Good moisturizer, smells great, and clean pump. Other than that I haven't noticed any difference in the amout of breakouts I've had since I've been using it (1 year) No real downfall but, no special benefit.

I purchased this product while rummaging around the local walmart.
I have issues with acne on a daily basis so I felt I had nothing to lose but the $6.
I am impressed. It's light. It's clean. It smells good. It balances after using a cleanser. And I can feel it fighting throughout the day.
Hopefully it will stay that way. Will revised if opinion changes.

I was using this product regularly on my oily face and I found it was a clean and fresh feeling. Now I think I could be allergic to something in it becuase I am breaking out. I may be using it too much.
I have discontinued using it and the sores have gone away.

Love this..makes your face super super soft especially when you slab alot before u go sleep..u wake up to a very soft worth pinching face hehe.. if only im not on hydroquinone (whitening cream) id continue using this,too bad ive to stop coz those two should not go together..but if i stop with the hydroq,id be back on this! it prevents new pimples from starting too coz it has salicylic acid..i know right? awesome!
