This is one of my current favorite nail polishes. The color is just hot! I am surprised that L'oreal nail polishes are not reviewed as much as Revlon or Rimmel brands. The quality is fairly great for drug store brands.

I bought L'Oreal Nail Color in Caught Red-Handed 440.
Beautiful summer red. No shimmer, no gold, just straightforward warm-red (tomato red) opaque crème.
Is their another version in 470 with shimmer?
I would definitely buy again.

I ended up buying Caught Red Handed after I resisted buying Stiletto by SpaRitual. I spied the rich, burgundy red Stiletto in a beauty boutique and almost splurged on the beautiful colour, but I really couldn’t justify spending $14 CDN on nail polish. I hit the drugstore determined to find a great red for fall and was delighted to discover Caught Red Handed. (I love a clever product name and I think L’Oreal’s name is just as fun as SpaRitual’s.) The colour seemed a good match to the glamorous Stiletto at less than half the price! CRH goes on smoothly, has good opacity and comes in a simple and elegant bottle. The colour is fabulous and as rich as rubies. I think CRH would complement a lot of skin tones. I’m pale and have received a lot of compliments on my CRH clad toes, but I’ll be using it for my hands as well. CRH is a sexy, sophisticated and expensive looking colour that’s perfect for the polished look of fall 2007.

Got this on sale at 2 for the price of 1 and it was a great deal. I love this color, it's a great red/gold with none of the blue/purple undertones I normally get with reds. Formula goes on very easy and I got opaque color at one coat. Also dries relatively fast.

Caught Red-Handed is from L'Oreal's new Pro Manicure line of nail polish, introduced in early 2007 in Canada (I assume at this same time in the US). It's a rich red that's full of fine shimmer, mostly gold but with some pink/wine, too. In warm indoor lighting, CRH looks quite warm, but in cooler light it gets a gorgeous pink sheen. In sunlight, you see a mix of the two -- the colour is neither too warm nor too cool. The finish is very shimmery, to the point of being almost foil-y. It has a glow on the nails!
I'm quite happy with the new polish, too. The formula is nice and applies evenly, and it is completely opaque at two coats. The brush is wide and flat, like OPI's Pro-Wide brush, so I found application easier (except on my pinky nails). Overall, a very good product for not too much money. The new bottle contains 11.7 mL (OPI and Essie bottles contain 15 mL, and regular Revlon bottles contain 14.7 mL).
