I purchased the product based on the great reviews on this site. It doesn't dry out my skin and provides a cool sensation. It has reduced my acne. I'm pretty happy with it.

I definitely never thought I'd be reviewing a facewash! I'll start off by saying that I've only been using this for a little under a week, but the results are so noticeable so far that I have to share. For those of you who wanna hear from someone who's used a product longer, I plan on editing in another 2/4 weeks.

Ok so my skin is fair, sensitive, prone to dryness, and I almost always have a couple whiteheads come up throughout any given week (mostly sides of chin and inner cheeks)- and most of all, the pink marks they leave behind. I usually tackle these issues with green tea, ACV/ Aztec clay, and lemons for marks since I like a natural approach. The past couple of months, however, my skin's been breaking out horribly (sadly happened soon after I went vegan) and my go-to's haven't been cutting it, though I've kept using them hoping they would.

A few days ago, I came home after spending a day/night at my boyfriend's. I looked alright when I arrived, but didn't bother washing up before sleep, so when I got home the next night I wasn't looking too hot. Any slight irritations that had been there had become inflamed, and I also had some areas of dryness and flaking in places other blemishes were still healing. Not so good... (luckily I have a great guy who doesn't care!). So upon seeing myself in the mirror, and taking care of the blemishes that were ready to be extracted, I of course looked even worse. But rather than stressing, I decided to take a hot shower and see if I could find this scrub that I bought months ago but never really used, because I somehow felt that I needed it now. Boy were my instincts right! Using this felt like scratching an itch, it just felt so good. It's creamy, refreshing, and has some small aqua beads mixed in, so the exfoliation is there but doesn't feel abrasive as other scrubs like the St. Ives apricot. It doesn't leave you feeling stripped, and I've never felt a film left behind like other reviewers have complained of.

So after my shower, I definitely felt much cleaner and better, but avoided a mirror for a while. When I did gather the courage to look in a well-lit mirror, I was really surprised! My skin looked much more calmed down, the dryness was taken care of, and the picked blemishes had been reduced to little red dots, as if the medicine went in and rapidly accelerated healing. I felt as if I'd had a facial honestly. I've been known to get this excited about other treatments though, so I decided to keep using it.

So it's been several days now and I'm so grateful for how this is working. My overall skin in general is much more calmed and even-toned, which is great for me as my skin is fair naturally but always red from irritation. If any spots do come up (I credit this to hormones and it being my TOTM), they're tiny and this wash helps take care of them! I know for a fact it helps even shrink whiteheads- yesterday I was excited about how my skin was looking better, so I decided (against my better judgment) to use my trusty old lemon to help start getting rid of the old pink marks. It's worked wonders in the past but can be very irritating to any spots/potential spots. Well, any tiny potential spots I had were almost instantly raised to whiteheads, about five of them near my chin. Oh great, what have I done... I decide to take my hot shower with this scrub and ten minutes after look in the mirror and they were back to normal!

So I know it's only been a few days, so I want to see how this works over time and after readjusting my diet back to including fish and some meat. I really think this scrub is going to help me be clear, or at least 95% clear which is still great. I don't know what it is about this cleanser that makes it so effective, as others never did anything for me- hardly anything ever does. I'm thinking it could be the glycolic acid/salicylic acid combo. So I just wanted to share my experience with others in case you are reading up on facewash reviews before making a purchase. I say try this one out! Even if you've tried the regular cleanser from this line (which I also have) this is Much more effective. Even if you don't end up liking it, you could probably use it as a body scrub. I should add that sometimes, like before bed, after using this scrub I apply some Neutrogena on the spot benzoyl peroxide, which my sensitive skin takes to well too. I think the scrub will work on its own, but adding the bp makes it a 1-2 punch and has worked great as a preventative measure for me in the past.

I'll edit again in the near future to let you know if the good effects last.
Hope this helps !

Edit 4/26: I still love this facewash, it's a great scrub when you need an exfoliation. However- I've been using it consistently and my first great results declined with some time. I think this stuff helps, but doesn't stop breakouts before they come like it claims. I know my breakouts are due to hormones though, so it wouldn't be fair to rely on a wash to take care of this issue for me- wouldn't that be nice? But I'll definitely continue to use it!

I'm going to start by saying that I've purchased this product about 6 times now. I can't live without it. I usually use it everyday in the morning and every time I try to switch it out of my skin routine, I always go back to it because I start breaking out if I don't use it. I can usually get it for $5-6 and it lasts me for a good 3 to 4 months using it. I pair it with the Clean & Clear Advantage kit and this routine is the only one I can stick to without breaking out. I like the smell of this and it's not too drying to my face (keep in mind that I do have combination skin) and my face always feels refreshed afterwards. I don't have enough good things to say about this product, it'll probably always be my HG exfoliator.

I absolutely love this. Forever looking for a product that just gets rid of ALL ace instead of some, stops here. I have combo skin. My t-zone is especially weird and oily. I also get dry patches if my skin is irritated. It's incredible how long and how clear my face has stayed. Love this! But you might also want to use it with a cleanser. I saw better results used with a cleanser/exfoliater. Good luck! Try this out!

!!EDIT!!: I changed it to 3 lippies because I started to get a ton of breakouts and for some reason my skin suddenly became really oily. This really did nothing for the breakouts or my oily skin. Didn't seem to help at all.

I was so afraid to try this product, idk why! i hate using new products and then having Them make me break out! anyways I've used this on and off for about a yr and a hf already! ( maybe longer?) I was hesitant to use it, as I'd rather go for a more "basic" scrub without the "tingly" feeling and fragrance but honestly I'm SO glad I tried this. It's one of those products that you can rely on. I think that's why I come back to it when I have nothing else working, though I never find my self staying with it for more then two months, except for when I first purchased a yr ago. It does leave a tingly feeling when your washing, i dont care for it doesnt bother me. its mild, i wouldnt say harsh or gentle but my friend with super sensitive tried this and it didnt irritate her skin. it REALLY depends how you work with a product! making sure you wash the prouct off and how you scrub! It did get did rid of my acne, I can't say my acne doesn't pop up now and then but I feel like this keeps everything at bay. Sometimes I feel like it zaps eveything, other times I feel as if it just cleans, doesn't take it acne all away but just cleans or keeps it at bay. I do switch tondifferent cleansers but find myself always coming back to this one every couple of weeks or months, just cuase i know it doesn't break me out. It's 5/6$ and they sell it everywhere so it's a easy face wash to pick if I need one, especially when I'm undecided. Is it a miracle? No. Is it good? Yes. I would definetly recommend it, I feel this a face wash that can either work for you or just do nothing, but not make you break out. I'd say give it a try! I have acne prone combination skin. I feel this is best if used in the shower( I do think evry face wash/scrub is best used in the shower). It has left my skin feeling dry before, but that's if I don't wash the product off correctly. If I wash in the shower, I don't have this problem since It washes off pretty well. The beads aren't rough at all, you can get away with using it daily. The only real con is II don't like how it doesn't lather up enough though... Maybe it's just me? I'd prefer it to foam up a little, It sorta lathers up a little but its just mostly creamy. But it is a scrub so I GUESS i can't complain. I actually mix some baking soda into this and it has worked pretty darn good for my acne! It actually hasn't dried my skin out, just wash the mixture COMPELTLY out. Overall, if you want a cleanser for acne try it! If your scared that it's break you out, I'd say to just try it anyways! I've had my friends try it, worked for some and for a few it didn't work. It didnt make them break out or anything, it just didnt zap all there zits but they use it just to clean. I'd actually say this is one of the best scrubs I've tried, my skin doesn't purge on the break outs, no a miracle but one of the good ones you can buy! I'd say just take the chance and TRY IT!!!

Not bad! Definitely a good scrub. I have combo/ acne prone skin. One of its best features is how it feels on your face! it's very cooling and reduces redness, which is rare for a scrub. And it doesn't leave your skin dry and tight! As for the acne-clearing part; it's not exactly this scrub's strongest feature. Some breakouts have been cleared, but new ones pop up right behind them. As a teen I have had to accept that acne is a pretty stubborn aspect of my life right now, and until I get a bit older, the majority of it isn't going anywhere. But all you girls with red or uneven skin lacking in the pimple department, don't count this product out!

My skin is very acne prone. I recently stopped use of the acne.org system because my skin was so dried out and I really didn't see a difference. I used this scrub back in the day, and really loved it. I still do. The cucumber helps with redness, while the beads exfoliate nicely and leave my skin feeling soft and healthy. I use it every night because it's really gentle. After I cleanse with cetaphil gentle cleanser, I use this, then the dual action moisturizer from clean and clear and persagel 10 on any blemishes. I have to say, I'm very impressed with the product.

I LOVE this product! I use it every night after removing my makeup with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I don't think it's bad that I use it every night because the beads in the scrub are not harsh at all! I really feel it helps get any extra makeup off of my face. I have very acne prone skin and this scrub has helped my acne SOOO much! I couldn't be more pleased:)

There's two good things about this product: It smells amazing, like cucumber; and two, it exfoliates nicely. But that's it. It dries out my skin, and after I rinse it off, it feels as if there's still a film on my face.

Dislike greatly.

i have really oily skin, and i started breaking out really bad on my forehead and the side of my face, and i came across this at target. i use neutrogena healthy skin liquid foundation (oil free), and it works really well which is why i tried this product. But, i've been using this face wash once or twice a day for about a month and i haven't noticed a difference other than my face is softer and feels more fresh after i use it. Though my niece says she noticed a difference acne wise, i still haven't notice anything! i'm going to keep using it until it runs out though, and see what happens. :)

Just bought this, I really like the texture. I have been suffering from stress related breakouts so I decided to give this a try. I used an Olay makeup removing cloth then hopped in the shower. It was weird because not only did it exfoliate well, the 'tingling' everyone describes really felt more like 'burning' for me! I just chalk that up to my retin-A usage.. So far so good! In 2-3 days my skin stopped breaking out and the lil bumps I had (and one cyst!) are shrinking and one are gone. I use my Olay moisturizer after this to counter any dryness. :)

I recently came crawling back to this scrub. I had used it faithfully for many years, but stopped after I noticed that everything else with salicylic acid in it broke me out. I don't know what's different about this product exactly (perhaps it's the salicylic/glycolic combo that works for me), but my skin really does look better -clearer and smoother - when I use this regularly.

Now I'm on my 3rd bottle of this stuff and just like it. It's very gentle, leaves my skin fresh and smooth, without drying out or breaking out it. My complexion reacts with some scrubs, but not at all with this. I can tell it helps remove pimples and blackheads. Smells very good, fresh and I'm satisfied with the ingredients, too. Totally recommend.

this stuff is AMAZING!!!! i HAD really bad acne on my forehead, but after switching to this about 2 months ago, this cleared it up!!! im on my 3rd bottle! i origanly used the regular wash, but needed a little somethin extra, and this was it. i have oily skin a this takes the oil away for the day! of course i still have acne scars, but i out a little lemon juice and there starting to lighten up. very pleased. my hg skin care product. the smell isnt that bad either. it smells like a spa to me haha. would reccomend to anyone with comibation/oily-oily skin. dry skinned girls ... id recommend the pink grapefruit cleanser or wash(as the scrub will make ur skin irritated).... works amazing for all my friends who have dry skin. sensitive skin girls.. id recomend the redness cleanser or wash also by neutrogena. really works on my cousin who was super super sensitive skin!

This really does seem to be helping my acne. I use it maybe 2 or 3 times a week in the shower. It feels so tingly and my face feels very clean but not tight or dry after using. It has just the perfect amount of scrubiness to it. Does not burn even though I have somewhat dry and sensitive skin.

Sorry guys but for me at least, this did NOT get rid of any acne. In fact, it made it worse. It felt like there was a residue on my skin and it got oily faster (and it is oily enough already. I got several new pimples and acne drives me out of my mind! In my opinion, it was pooping awful. Not worth a cent. I don't even know why I tried this since I pretty much always go organic. Just proves that is the way to go and I should not have strayed. I am going to try Derma E Vitamin A and Glycolic acid cleanser next. Wish me luck!
