I wasn't too impressed with this face wash. It is a very basic cleanser for sensitive skin; it doesn't cause any breakouts or dry out your face and there's no initial purging but I also felt like it didn't thoroughly cleanse my skin either since I had to use makeup remover before using this so that I wasn't left with any eyeliner or mascara on my eyes. On certain days I tend to wash my face 3x or more (once in the morning, once before I workout so I don't sweat with all my makeup on, and once at night) and on these days I'll use the aloe cleanser for my mid day face wash since it isn't very harsh and I don't want to dry out my skin. I did like the foaming dispenser since it takes the effort out of lathering the face wash with your hands and the slight scent it has isn't bad either. However, I will definitely not repurchase this since I feel as though there are much better basic face washes at a cheaper price.

About as effective as washing with glycerin soap, but with what I can only call a sort of “green” equivalent of new car smell attached. Tried using daily for 3 weeks and was able to keep it up for 2 days per week. Very bumpy cheeks, chin and forehead coming up 2 – 5 hours following each wash and staying for about half a day afterwards with no benefit.

This Aloe Vera Facial Wash face is a pleasure to use. It cleanses my skin really smoothly. My skin looks radiant and feels as smooth as silk. Even in winter I don’t feel any stretch or dryness on my skin. It’s smooth to touch and refreshes my skin like no other face wash. I recommend the Aloe Vera facial wash very strongly.

I gave this a shot as it is recommended by Paula Begoun and I was looking for a basic cleanser that wasn't too pricey. Probably the best thing is the pump. It works very well and pumps out every last bit. It cleanses okay; I don't use waterproof foundation or eye makeup, so don't have problems with removing that, but sometimes it struggles with mascara, leaving some residue under my lower lashes. I use 3-4 pumps, which is probably a bit more than needed, but since it's a relatively thin foam, I feel I need that much to really cover my skin. So, it gets used up rather quickly. Didn't cause any breakouts for my combo skin, but I do find it a bit drying, particularly around my eyes, so maybe I can only use this in the summer. Overall, it's okay, not something I'll run out and replace. I said I'd repurchase only because it's hard for me to get my preferred cleansers where I live, so it's always easy to pop over to The Body Shop and pick this up if I'm in a pinch.

Bought it in the Aloe Mini Sample pack for $25 CDN, My skin is overall too sensitive for clinique so I tried this on advice of a friend. The facewash did seem to make my skin smoother after the first try but didn't feel as clean like other reviewers said. But I still use the toner and creams and my face is still smooth and not red!

I was looking for a gentle and water soluble cleanser and this did quite a good job in comparison to what high end brands such as Lancome and Dior had to offer.
Ive been using this now for almost 3 months and I quite like it as it is super gentle and wouldnt strip off my skin. It is a tiny little bit drying but this is normal for foam cleanser I think. I agree with other users here that it doesnt do miracle for your skin, however it is good at removing debris and definitely gentle enough to use twice every day.
I would rather recommend this to people with normal - combination skin though and for 8 GBP i think its decent for a basic cleanser.

This product is definitely great! it really soothes my irritated skin, and calms down the redness. the only downside to this product is that it smells really really bad. like mixed chemicals. im really having doubts that it smells like aloe vera :/ but then either than the smell, this product is working great for me, so yeah! :)

I've been using this for almost a year now. I don't really know why, it doesn't do wonders for my skin or anything, it's just that it always makes my skin feel clean. It doesn't remove all makeup, but I just use the toner afterwards to remove all excess dirt. Also it's created for sensitive skin, and it doesn't make my face itchy or red. I also love the packaging, it's really hygenic and simple to use.

My boyfriend bought me this. I have skin that hates almost everything, and everywhere is sold out of my regular Yes to Tomatoes products. How is this supposed to be for sensitive skin when it has sodium laureth sulfate in it? SLS makes my excema go PSYCHO.

eh. I'm really not impressed. I really wanted to like it because aloe has always been able to calm the redness in my face and just keep it soft. This is my first aloe line product and facial foaming product. I really like the packaging. Its a simple and very easy to use pump. I usually use two pumps and disperse the product on my face. It goes on very gentle and has some small bubbles. I then use my little face scrubby thingy, sorry I don't know what the correct name is, and use that on my face. By the end of the minute or so, the bubbles have disappeared. You're left with a soft liquid, not quite gel, soapy on your face. Comes off fairly clean, although I don't really think it's cleaned my face. I've tried other facial products that have left my face clean and refreshed. This one doesn't really do it for me.

I really thought that this wouldn't cause any problems on my dry, sensitive skin, but after just one use my face wash dry and cracked and started flaking everywhere, it also caused an irritated rash- just a generally bad reaction!
I gave it to my brother to use, who has much tougher skin than me and he also came out in a red rash after a few uses, such a shame as other Body Shop aloe products, such as the toner, have worked well.

It's a really good cleanser. Unlike other cleansers for sensitive skins, this one does clean makeup properly (following with a toner to ensure everything has gone). The price is cheap if you can buy when it's on offer (I usually buy it at about 3.5pound).
However, it still dries my skin a little bit (maybe because of the SLS ingredient). And I use it up much more quickly than other foaming cleansers (say, Clinique Anti-blemish foaming cleanser, which lasts such a long time for me). I will continue using it until I can find something better.

I really like this product. Since I've been using it, problems that I thought were just because of my skin being so stupidly sensitive and that I thought I would just have to live with have cleared up. I constantly had red cheeks, problems with dryness on my cheeks and my nose and KP bumps on my cheeks, I thought I had done everything I could and it wasn't the products I was using, it was my skin. Nope. The cleanser I was using, while it was an improvement on previous cleansers I had used, was the culprit. Since I have started using this I have no problems with redness and dryness (unless I overdo the duac) and the bumps have been significantly reduced (and now are gone, but that is thanks to the duac). It is light and fresh and leaves my skin feeling softly clean but still moisturised. Sometimes when I am wearing heavy makeup I do use it twice to get it all off, but I find as long as I take a minute or two to massage it in with some water it does a reasonable job in just one go. I did find when I first started using it my skin did go through an oilier than usual patch, as it was used to having to produce lots of oil to try and combat the stripping from my previous cleanser, but a week or so late it was all good. The packaging is user friendly - a pump bottle that dispenses a foam, I find one pump is enough. I took it with me on a trip as well and it did not leak even though I thought it would. I would like little travel versions though as I don't think you could really decant this into smaller bottles because it is liquid in the bottle and then foams as it dispenses into a mousse. I'm really happy with this product though, and the price is cheaper than the HE cleansers I was using, even when I got them off Strawberrynet. Still not super cheap though - retails for $21.95 AUD.

I am probably going to try the milky cleanser, (I especially think this would be good to use in summer to remove make up and sunscreen and then follow with the facial wash) toner, exfloliant and body butter in this line, because I am so impressed with this one. I did have the deorderant too and it was good but I think the price was just too expensive for that product. I'm not going to try the others though as they seem to contain oats and I have coeliac disease.

I have fair skin and I've always had problems with little discolorations (red blemishes from dry patches, or just.. randomly red). After I began using this cleanser once a day at night, my skin has evened out and it even looks like I'm wearing a thin layer of foundation. It's also made the texture of my skin smoother (I used to have more dry patches and little bumps from irritations).

It doesn't dry out my skin too much (I have dry skin), I just make sure to apply my moisturizer at least 10 minutes after I cleansed. But this goes with any cleanser.

The foam pumping nozzle is easy to control so you get the amount you want (I use one and a half pumps for my face and neck)

I have very sensitive and somewhat dry skin. I have tried product after product and always ended up with more dry skin or an allergic reaction. I also do not use products that are tested on animals which narrowed down my "sensitive skin" formula choices. My sister told me about this so I got samples and fell in love. I the cream formula along with the toner, day cream and night cream. The cleanser is gentle and gets rid of the make-up and dirt accumulated during the day without too much effort. It leaves my skin soft and luminous. I also found that within a week of use, it helped heal some red patches and pimples that just didn't want to heal before. Little bumps on my forehead and chin are also disappearing. The price is great, the product is natural, it's not tested on animals and is fair trade. Can't get much better than that! Not the product to use if your skin is really dry though as the hydration it provides is fairly light.

I have mixed feelings about this wash. Foaming cleansers in general can be problematic for me, but I have trouble finding non-foaming cleansers that I actually like. This one isn't particularly offensive; its ingredient list is mercifully short (though it does contain SLS. D'oh!) and it doesn't seem to break me out or give me contact dermatitis. It is, however, a little drying, so I mix it with an equal amount of ceraVe hydrating cleanser (which is a little too emollient) - a totally genius move on my part. This combo gets me clean and refreshed with no irritation or filmy residue. Unfortunately, I don't believe this cleanser is a particularly good buy. It's about $16.00 for 4.2 oz. and in three weeks I've gone through it like gangbusters. Not worth it, IMHO.

This is good just not for oily acne prone skin so sad. But for those w dry sensitive skin would be great. That why I still think this is a good product just not for me. My skin was a little dry from acne line so I bought this to help lessen the dryness. At first it was great but then I started to break out : (

I haven't had much success with foaming facial cleansers; they usually leave my skin too dry and/or irritated. However, I'm glad to announce one exception to that rule! I usually try to avoid TBS products for their heavy fragrance content. But I'm so glad they have the fragrance-free Aloe product line. I bought the facial wash along with the moisturizer with SPF 15. With the cleanser, I find that 1,5 pumps is enough for full cleansing in the evening. I use minimal makeup, and this cleanser takes care of all that, and leaves my face feeling comfortably clean. However, because my skin is very sensitive, every cleanser with detergent cleansing agents might cause slight irritation in the long run. But this has been an excellent cleanser for my very oily summer skin when alternated with another cream cleanser. I'm sure I will try more products from the Aloe line as well.

I find this to be very gentle yet effective. It doesn't irritate my skin, doesn't dry it out. I'm rather a fan of gel cleansers than of those foams, but I got used to it.
It doesn't leave my skin feeling incredibly clean, but when I use a toner afterwards, it never picks up any left dirt on my skin.
The price is okay for what you get and I like the packaging.
The smell is pretty neutral, nothing special.
All in all a very good product for irritated and sensitive skin. I'd defenitely reccomend it and will probably repurchase.
