OH MY GOODNESS. This smells like the early 1980s. I love it. I love the smell. I shake the can, spray it at my hair, and smell like the early 1980s all day. I also like the design of the can. It's classic. The mini version is great for tossing in my bag if I need to travel. As for the ability of this product to hold my hair style in place... well, I bought the "average" hold version because I don't actually need much in the way of hold. I use the hairspray to keep my fly-aways in check and to shape my hair slightly. This product does everything I need it to do and it smells nice (to me).

Horrendous stench! My God this stuff is strong. Even the so-called "unscented" version is disgusting. Avoid!

I'm not sure what the hype about this spray is. It doesn't hold my hair in place and it isn't that much different than other drugstore sprays I have tried. Bedhead and Sexy Hair work better for me. I will not repurchase.

I always figured that hairspray was hairspray, and opted for the cheapest ones on the drugstore shelves. However, I became so irritated with crunchy, sticky strands that I decided to bite the bullet on this raved about product. It is more expensive than I'd prefer to spend on a hair product, but woah baby, I truly do love this stuff. The scent, as others have noted, isn't the most pleasant but I don't find it overpowering. I don't worry that I smell of it when I leave the house. Most importantly, this stuff holds my style while still keeping my hair flexible and touchable. I'm a convert, and will certainly repurchase!

Bought the sample size last year ($4.49). I bought it out of curiosity because thd big can was close to $20 and I thought if a hairspray costs that much it must be amazing! Ummmm......no. First of the smell is so overpowering Im sure people could smell me a mile away. Very over perfum smell. It did take a little extra then most sprays to hold my style. But it didn't leave my hair crunch or sticky. And was super easy to brush and wash out. If it came in a non scented version I would buy again. For now the sample bottle is in my purse....using it for mace.

I don't understand why this is such a 'cult' favorite with hair professionals who would 'load up their suitcases on trips to Europe'. When it was finally available in North America I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I was very disappointed - first off it smells absolutely terrible, just ghastly. Like an old lady sprayed on too much 60's hairspray from my childhood. I was embarrassed to go out in public smelling of that icky hairspray. Second, it doesn't hold very well and when you brush it out it goes away completely - does not leave behind extra body or lift for my super-fine hair. It's a total waste of money IMO. Stinks and doesn't hold.

My favorites for gentle hold and brushable body are Oscar Blandi Lacca (the jasmine scent is to die for) and Aveda Air Control (also smells so yummy). Do not waste your money on Elnett.

I have been using this hairspray for as long as I care to remember and it never disappoints. It holds my style naturally and brushes out easily without any residue. I try others from time to time but I always go back to Elnett.

I tried this after hearing so many good things about it and I don't understand because 5$ hairspray works way better than this expensive one. First of all, I had to put a lot because it did not hold, my curls fell flat in a few hrs. I really did not notice my hair being touchably soft after, just a lil more than regular hairspray (good if ur willing to sacrifice good hold) the worst thing is that this stuff stinks! And the smell does not fade, it is strong and stays on my hair all day >.< does not have that soapy smelling hairspray smell, ill definetly stick with my old favorite, Samy skyscraper in the orange bottle, works great

I decided to try this product after hearing many beauty gurus on YouTube rave about it and I'm so glad I did!
Normally I don't use much hairspray, but I figured I could use this when I curled my hair. I have the extra strong hold and it's fabulous! The mist is so fine that you can't see or feel it in your hair, it brushes out so nicely. The volume I get from this hairspray is amazing, I even use it when I straighten my hair to get a great, touchable volume. I can see it building up if you used it consecutive days without washing your hair in between, however for normal use it's great. There is quite a smell, I don't hate it but I don't love it. It's tolerable for me and because I love the product so much I will continue to use it! This product really isn't that expensive if you're used to buying salon products. Beautiful bottle too!

I don't know what the big fuss is about this but it did nothing special for me only made my scalp itchy. It's pricey and I will not be buying again.

I heard so much hype about this product that I actually fell for it and bought it. IT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE. This does not hold anything at all. Especially with the kind of hair I have. My curls doesn't stay at all. I ended up just using it as a pre-hairspray before I curl my hair and then top it off with another hairspray which holds my curls a lot longer. No bueno! Not worth it at all and I'm am SO. NOT. GOING. TO. REPURCHASE.

I like that this hairspray does not leave a tacky residue. It really provides a touchable, flexible hold. Perhaps a little too flexible....I think I need a little more hold to be really convinced but I like the lack of residue that you get with some other brands. The container is tall, so while it is expensive (nearly $20 NZ) it seems to be value for money. However the thing making me want to finish it quickly and move to something else is, most unfortunately, the very strong scent. It is strange...reminds me of bread...no, hot crossed buns....it's spicy and heady and I don't like it at all. It clashes with and ruins whatever perfume I am wearing and I don't like smelling it wafting past my head. Admittedly, as with any scent, it does dry down to something a little subtler, but I still don't love it. It's what I consider an old-fashioned scent and its not me at all.

I used to suffer through the inevidable 3pm fallen, unravelling hairstyle thing all the time because I HATE hairspray. I used to dance, maybe that has something to do with it... anyhow now my buns stay pretty and my curls hold all day thanks for this weightless, totally touchable hairspray. I use the lightest formula because my hair is very fine and it holds just fine for me, even with me running my hands through my hair as much as I do. Of course Elnett does not have as much lasting hold as a heavier duty hairspray but definitely hours longer than unsprayed and with the illusion that you hadn't put any in! No stiffness, flakes, smell, no trace. Love.

In a nutshell, after the first time I purchased Elnett hairspray, I've never looked back or forward at any other hairspray on the market. I know the BigSexy hairspray or whatever its called gets a lot of rave as well, but I like to keep it simple by going to my local wal-mart and grabbing this amazing hairspray.

- I love that this comes in a travel size among two other bottle sizes.
- I've purchased the scented and unscented versions. Right now I have the unscented and I'm enjoying this one rather more.
- No matter how much of this hairspray you spray, your hair will never be sticky or hard. What you get is soft yet thick, voluminous hair.
- No white overcast from the spray which can happen with other
hairsprays/dry shampoos
- It is a bit pricey for being a drugstore product, but it is the higher end of drugstore hair products so for $9-10 for the regular sized spray, I don't mind paying that.

If you are hesitant at all about trying this hairspray, I suggest trying the original version of this, in a travel-sized bottle for about $6-7.

So I was looking for a new hairspray and everyone on youtube was recommending this spray so I decided to go buy some. I got it from the drugstore and it was on sale for $14CAD which is still pretty steep for a drugstore brand. The bottle is super long and golden, it's really cute. I like the nozzle and have had no problems with it so far. I have very thick and long hair and it held my curls all day and did not make them sticky or crunchy or anything and it DID brush out at the end of the night. Also I love the smell, but then again I love the generic hairspray scent lol. I would definitely buy this again but only if it's on sale or I go to the states to get a cheaper price.

So I have very thick (real) waist-length hair, and hairspray for me is essential to keep my hairstyle in place. I've been using Elnett off and on for the past couple of years and always seem to come back to it. It really keeps my hair in place all day long, typically when I've finished styling my hair I will spray a generous amount all over, or if I've french-braided or put rollers in my hair I will spray it on to keep the style secure. I use the 'Diamond Strength' formula, which is great for when I've used heat either straightening or curling my hair, it stops the style from 'falling'. I even tip my hair upside down and spray at the roots for volume too! I love how the fine mist distributes evenly onto my hair. Will always keep repurchasing, despite me hating the scent!

I like this hairspray but I do not like the sprayer because it clogs terribly and sometimes one is able to clean it by rinsing in hot water so it will spray cleanly again and sometimes it's a loss. It needs to have a different mechanism or rethink the design of the cap because this does prevent me from repurchasing it. It is not a strong hold through a hurricane hairspray but more of a finishing mist to lightly hold wispiness then it can be brushed again at night.

I've never really been much of a hairspray connoisseur but a stylist used this on me once and I saw how well it held my stubborn Asian hair! I hated the smell so when I bought the unscented one when I finally decided to get one for myself. I love it because it sprays on so finely that it doesn't weigh down my hair. I mostly use it for curling my hair and it helps preserve my curls without making it look stiff. Bottom line: my HG.
