I'm surprised this hairspray isn't rated higher. Hairspray is problematic because different people expect different results, and by nature it can be damaging to hair because all contain alcohol denat. I grew up using the cheap white rain hairspray, and wanted to try a better quality one. Even though they all contain similar ingredients, I don't know...I've seen much less damage using this hairspray. In fact, my hair has added shine, and less frizz. The hold is decent. If you want a superstrong hold & you have fine straight hair, try a stronger hairspray. I also use this as a texturizer. My history with hairsprays is pretty short, because I don't use them everyday, but White Rain dried out my hair, Aussie embarrassed me b/c the ridiculously fruity smell followed me & filled up rooms. Even though this does smell like cheap perfume, it goes away. This lives up to the hype for me.

I would buy this again and again and again. There is a reason why it is still around after so many years and that is because it is good. With so many variations to now choose from, there is an elnett to suit everyone.

My personal favourite is the new Argan Oil or the so sleek option They are both light, not overwhelming in scent and both leave a pretty sheen to the hair (natural and synthetic) for anyone wearing human or man made fibre extensions. Neither option leave the hair crispy, do not weigh the hair down and both can definitely can brushed out. I hate hairsprays that leave the hair rock hard with no movement. Elnett leaves the hair soft, pliable and workable.

I love the size variations from the itsy bitsy 75ml perfect handbag size to the whopper 500ml which is great for shows, clients, jobs etc. The fine mist lightly coats the hair instead of spitting out in jets. It's actually quite effective lightly misted over face makeup to set it (from a distance). This I'd only recommend for theatrical purposes and wouldn't suggest this as a regular part of any beauty regime.

It's affordable and beyond easy to get your hands on (you can usually find it discounted or on offer at most drugstores, supermarkets, corner shops, ebay, amazon, the moon, venus, saturn, mars etc) and looks good. I love the gold can and like the colour coding to differentiate each option.

I can't really say anything bad about this as it's one hairspray that I will continue to repurchase. Proving expensive isn't always the better option.

It's a mediocre hairspray at best. Another example of clever marketing. The price is prohibitive. There are plenty of other hairsprays available at better prices.

It's not a bad product,it holds my hair really good.Good value for money, there are better hairsprays than this but their price is higher. In this price range this is the best you can get.

Brilliant hairspray! Does what it says on the tin! This hairspray has brilliant hold but you can brush it out with ease. It is slightly on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for! My go to hair product when doing a fancy hairstyle for a night out!

I really like the smell of this! Sorry, I must like cheap perfume! So I think I am in a minority. Maybe it is because it reminds me of my mum, so the smell triggers happy memories for me. However, its claim which says you can easily brush it out without residue, is certainly not true for me. It takes a lot of effort to brush out and even then, I am left with flakes which look like big lumps of dandruff. I will probably repurchase due to the nostalgic feeling for me, but this is the only reason.

This is one of those things that works well, but I really feel it damages and dries out my hair. Sebastian Shaper is my preference but I'm on the lookout for something still less damaging.

This hairspray does have a very pungent smell. I personally describe it as old folk's home and cheap air freshener, but some others describe it as cheap perfume, garbage, et cetera. Thankfully, they do make a scent-free version!

This hairspray does work nice as an actual hairspray. It deposits a super fine mist that is hard to clump up on, and on the rare occasion that your hair comes out crunchy, it brushes away and leaves super-soft hair.

I didn't find the extra-strong hold version particularly useful against strong wind or heavy rain, but it still held up against my regular day-to-day activities. It's a good hairspray despite the smell, but a little on the pricey side.

The worst hairspray I have ever used. So overrated. Elnett does not hold my curls or styled hair at all, it makes my hair very crunchy and frizzy, has a very strong cheap 80s perfume scent and does not protect against humidity.

Not recommended.

La la love this hairspray. I use it regularly before/after curling my hair with a conical wand. It gives me shiny, bouncy, loose curls that I can run my fingers through without the slightest bit of crunchiness or stiffness. Seeing as I have dry hair, I don't wash it that often. My hair still looks good days after even if I don't do anything to it after originally curling it.

I agree that the smell is strong but it doesn't bother me that much and (in my hair at least) doesn't last. I've never had anyone complain about or even mention the smell and I never notice it on myself unless its right after I've done my hair.

It is a bit pricey compared to other drugstore hairsprays but in my opinion worth it. It also lasts a long time, and like I said I use it fairly regularly.

If you really can't stand the smell, or don't want to dish out the $$$, try the tresemmé. It's pretty comparable although I still prefer Elnett for shine and hold. Will continue to buy this product.
