Overall as a gradual self tanner it's not bad. I've done drugstore brands which work just as well. This products applies well and smell great. I usually get the "self tanner smell" with such products, but not with this gradual tanner.

Those with streak problems may need more practice with self tanner application in general. There is a learning curve. Clean dry skin that has been exfoliated well is a must.

I spray tan every 2 weeks and I apply this product every 3rd day, and keeps my tan nice and even for the 2 weeks. I'm pleased with this product except for the price.

I have this in medium/dark. This product is great to maintain a tan. After my initial tan with a proper tanner, i apply this everyday to moisturise and keep up my nc40 skin. If im going to be honest, i really just slap this on, i guess because im tan already and this stuff is very faint, it camouflages any streaks(i always look even). I would recommend this product to already tan girls wanting to maintain..to any pale girls this might turn out streaky due to the lack of colour guide.

Don't like it. Takes forever to dry and even when you're extremely careful applying it, it still streaks. Don't go by that video on their web site of the woman applying it. You need A LOT more than what she's using.

The only thing I can say in it's favor is that I didn't mind the smell like others did, and when you go to wash it off and the water hits it, your skin feels like liquid silk. Pity that feeling doesn't last beyond washing it off. There isn't much color that comes off, so that's a good thing, and it did leave a nice color for all that it was streaky.

Fake Bakes Flawless is 100 x's easier to use and dries quickly...save your money and buy a bottle of that instead.

The original St. Tropez tanning lotion is much better. This stuff is horribly sticky and transfers to your clothes and bedsheets big time. If you have the time to walk around the house and dry yourself, the color does look very nice.

This not very nice in my opinion. Cons: it's teribly sticky, which makes it difficult to apply and takes ages to dry. On me at least it still has that horrible fake tan smell, despite the claim that it doesn't. And it's expensive too. Pros: The colour on me is ok and fades nicely - this is why I didn't give it a 1 score.

Really disappointed with this gradual tanner. I adore other St Tropez products (especially the bronzing mousse), but this was a waste of money. The colour was very weak and it came out streaky on me after the first use, and I am fastidious when it come to prepping for and applying fake tan. Sadly it's going in the bin.

The coverage of this product is horrible. I've tried applying with gloves and bare hands, and no matter how hard I try it ends up turning out streaky. The product is extremely sticky and takes forever to dry, and I find that having to wait so long for it to dry causes the product to crease, which is very bad for behind the knees! It takes quite a few applications to get good colour payoff, but if you can get even coverage the colour is naturally looking.

My other issue is with the smell. On application you get the beautiful floral smell of the product, however when habit to wait for it to dry... The typical fake tan smell starts to appear and it's intense and intoxicating.

Left me streaky..Ridiculous, I have not had problems with even coverage for a while...The colour, smell, texture and the packaging are ok, but it doesnt' matter as I am not going to use this again.

This ended up being really streaky on me. From a distance the color is good but if someone is standing next to me they would be able to see a ton of streaks on my legs. I am using this once every three days...I bought it less than two days ago and I'm almost halfway through the bottle. For this price I won't repurchase when the Jergan's one is better.

I'm VERY light skinned especially in the winter time (nc 15) so I was debating whether to get the light/medium or the medium/dark. I wanted more bang for my buck so I went with the medium/dark.

Pro's:
-color pay-off is amazing (natural and blends into my skin well even though I bought the dark one)
-the application is even with little to no streaking
-if I do have streaking from uneven application, it scrubs off easily with soap and water
-my hands are always covered in the product so when I squeeze out more from the bottle the bottle doesn't feel greasy and doesn't end up having brown marks on it from the tan...the bottle stays white (aka the packaging rocks!)
-when I use the sunless tanner from St. Tropez the color tends to seep into my pores and make them look dark, but with the moisturizer, I don't have that problem
-I can put this on my face w/out breaking out
-goes on even...even if you don't exfoliate properly
-if you apply this w/out gloves it washes off easily w/soap and water and doesn't stain your nails/fingers
-very moisturizing

Con's:
-doesn't dry very fast but if you make sure to rub it into your skin thoroughly it does dry a bit quicker (this also ensures that you have even application)
-scent is VERY strong when first applied to the body (flowery) but it does disappear after a few hours leaving no scent at all
-I always get uneven application around my wrists/hands :(
-price...if you use this everyday it might get a bit expensive

Overall, it's a great self-tanner!! I would definitely repurchase this but I don't think I'd use it daily (it'd be too expensive). I would probably use this in conjunction with the sunless tanner from St. Tropez and switch them out every few days. The reason I gave the product a 4 and not a 5 is because I can't manage to get even application on my hands :( but it's not very obvious so I can deal.

First, I am a self-tanner junkie/expert and was so excited to try both the tinted mousse and this for maitenance. The smell is actually lovely and the color is a nice, true tan with no orange and I got the med/dark. But, the problem is that I get hardly any color payoff. I apply every other day and even after a week there's basically very little darkening. Another reason I gave it only 1 lippie is that it takes FOREVER to dry. It is so sticky and tacky and even after an hour my pj's still stick to me and my neck gets those creases from it balling up. I must say, that Dove has a much superior product for very little money although it's hard to find. Didn't love the mousse either for it's terrible color payoff also. If you want a very, very subtle tan then you might like this. But be warned that it needs to be applied at night. I can't imagine putting this on in the a.m. and then normal clothes. Big fail for me.

I absolutely love this self tanner - and am reviewing the med-dark variant. It has knocked my beloved HG Clinique "Self-Sun" off the top spot - see separate review - and I am now a St Tropez convert! I have a fair, very freckled complexion with yellow undertones, which tans slowly and burns easily - hence my reliance on self-tan before I hit the beach (in the shade lol!) and with my colouring I never thought St Tropez could work for me. The key to this product, as with all the others, is preparation. I usually start by exfoliating my body with the Sanctuary body scrub and follow with a good moisturiser (any from Soap & Glory are particular faves). That evening I apply a THIN layer of EDM using a mitt and let it sink in to the skin and dry. I then repeat the process and 'layer' the product with another THIN coat. This sounds time consuming but it doesn't take long. I apply it with upward sweeps first, then work around limbs and body from side to side. This way I don't 'miss' bits and get an even coverage. Although it is entirely dependant on your skin type EDM has absolutely no scent on my skin!!! Yaaaaay!! No nasty after-smell and covering up with scented body lotions. In fact the first time I applied it my daughter asked what body lotion I had used as it smelt so good (the product itself has a pleasant vaguely tropical scent) I have also found that EDM leaves no rub marks on the necks/cuffs of nightwear or bedding (as I have found with Dove and Clinique). By morning I have a lovely, realistic tan - not orange at all, very natural. For some strange reason I've found that it continues to develop further throughout the day on my skin - I don't know why - but its no problem. I moisturise every day and exfoliate every other day to keep the colour streak free as it fades. I top up once a week and I find through summer this is enough to keep my skin 'glowing' and looking great. Using the darker variant I don't use as much to get fab results - so cost effective in the long run. If you are fair don't be afraid to try the darker shade - it gives beautifully natural results! Thanks to MA another fantastic find!

This was easy to apply and provided even coverage, but it was slightly too orange on me (light to medium skin tone with yellow undertones). The colour also didn't get dark enough for me despite repeated applications - def not medium dark. The self tanner smell was also quite evident although by no means among the worst I've ever smelt. This was very easy to use however. This worked better on my face where I used it lightly with a layer of moisturiser underneath - one application was enough for people to comment on my "tan".

I found that this product streaked no matter how I tryed to apply it . The smell was nice , and the color would have been if it had gone on evenly. It was more expensive than most, too. So I couldn't recommend it, and I won't buy it again.

I really wanted to like this product. I ordered it online from Sephora and could not wait to get it! But after trying it several times I ended up greatly disappointed. I didn't like the consistency of the lotion - too runny and sticky. It took forever to dry and I could feel the sticky film on my skin for hours after the application. Despite using gloves and being very careful I still got streaks. The color was ok and smell did not bother me much. I will not repurchase.

I have tried loads of self tanners over the years in all price ranges and was really impressed with this. It gives a lovely natural colour and smells good - always a bonus with fake tan! The reason i left out one lippy was the texture, its far too greasy and takes a long time to sink into your skin.

This product is amazing, especially for first time users and those with pale or fair skin. It's my first self tanner product ever because I've been very afraid to try self tanners on my pale skin after seing how girls can look like carrots when they use it or they look dirty and fake. I think that if you use a self tanner it shouldn't be noticable at all, I would rather be pale then! So I thought that a gradual tanner would be a safe way to go and it really is! I bought the light one. I applied it to my arms and chest in the night after exfoliating. The next morning I couldn't see any difference. But later in the afternoon I noticed some glow and after the second application the next night I had achieved a very healthy and perfect glow. The smell is ok, I know that self tanners often smell horrible, like a sweet banana milkshake, but this one is very tolerable I think! The consistency is good and so is the package. It's a bit expensive, which is the only downside to it, but with self tanners I would rather pay a little more to have a good result! It's not the one I would use for my whole body everyday, that would be expensive. I use it for my arms, shoulders and chest and if I plan to wear dress I will use it on my legs just to take away the paleness. I will recommend this product to girls who are fair and pale and afraid to try self tanners, first time users and those who want a natural and healthy glow that you can build up gradually!

I could actually face the world with this colour - i used the fair for two days in a row and i have a lovely bronzy glow not a daffy duck in sight.

Im not a big fake tan user, but now its suddenly come into summer i thought i would try st tropez. The idea of a everyday lotion really appealed to me as it eases you into fake tanning and is mistake free. After one application, i can really see the results. The smell at first is lovely, within the next 4 hours you can smell 'fake tan' but it doesnt bother me. waking up the next morning and i am a lovely natural brown colour. I made one small mistake, not blending some on the ankle properly and i can therefore see how natural a brown it turns out to be in comparison to my natural colour! I bought this in medium to dark even though i am pale, i will use this every 3 days, i moisturize first, let it sink in then use this product, allowing it to sink in (and not putting clothes on) for the next 10 minutes. I always moisturize everyday very thoroughly due to my dry skin. now that i am using this i have been getting my body brush out every day to exfoliate. i think that doing this religiously is key to getting such good results. i really recommend this, despite the price tag, seeing as i dont use it everyday.
