This is my HG mascara, I would have to be on my 20th tube I think. I have tried others, but always come back to this one. It is a little pricey for what is effectively a drugstore product, but it doesnt clump or fall into my eyes. Will continue to repurchase unless I find a cheaper dupe. Havnt tried the waterproof one yet, not sure what that formula is like, but the original one is great.

is this review is for the Lash Architect 3D Dramatic mascara? Because this Lash Architect 3D Dramatic is my HG mascara, its the best stuff I've ever used!! at about 12 a tube i think thats a little much for drugstore but I have been using this for at least 6 to 7 years.. I cant believe all the bad reviews on this. I would buy dept stores, but none seem to give me this effect. I have short thin lashes and this is the only one that makes it dark, long thick and noticable in one coat, more than that just makes it clumpy. And it doesnt make it false looking.
I could see that maybe if you already have thick lashes u could have a clumpy mess because there is a lot of product on the brush but I need all that product because my lashes are so thin. but you have to change every couple of months as with all mascaras. I change it every 6 mths thats when its starts drying and clumping and it doesnt pack as much product on the brush anymore. if you already have thick lashes it would def add more volume and length so u would look like u had fakes on but not for me, it just actually makes me look like i have lashes which I havent really found any other mascara to do. is it really discountined? I still see it at my drugstores.

First off......I love my two HG mascaras...which are.... Benefits Bad Gal and DiorShow for my everyday false lash look. But, I do not like the waterproof formulas of them.

So enter this baby....

My hubby took the boys and I to a surprise little getaway trip to Kings Island and its Water Park with a 3 day pass. I desperately needed a waterproof mascara!!!

I like to look made up a little bit while I'm is a bathing suit. I wear big cheap silver hooped earrings and mascara that looks false. This did it!

This created that BAM eye look and it did not come off til I washed it off at night.

My lashes stayed very full and long... through many I repeat many, water tunnels, slides and wave pools! Yay!

No flaking either.

Too bad its discontinued. I hate all this discontinuing of product all the time! So, now I must find another. I tried FiberWig and yes it lasts through water but it does not give me that BAM eye lash look....I need volume too. Oh well!

Guess, I'm off to Ebay to scoop about 5 of them up for the years of summers ahead.

Ugh, I bought this a few years ago, because of the glamorous advert (yes, they got me). The mascara itself isn't that bad - it isn't great, but it isn't terrible either. Of course, the price can never be justified!
What got me, though, was the terrible, *terrible* packaging. Within a few weeks, the tube kind of fell apart. The ring (or whatever it is) at the top of the tube (on which you can wipe of excess mascara) just fell off, so all I got whenever I tried to apply was one big goop of mascara. This same thing happened to me with the YSL Faux Cils mascara, by the way. And I wasn't the only one. Anyway, I will never repurchase Lash Architect, since the mascara itself wasn't so great anyway.
I have short, curly lashes - I need more than just a fancy name!

My HG mascara! Love it! It does everything you can imagine a mascara would do for you, it thickens, lengthens and curls my eyelashes so greatly, and now L'oreal company discountinued it! I tried many drug store/expensive mascaras and neither of them do the same as this one does for me.

In general, I find the way you apply mascara to be more important than the product itself, but in this case, I couldn't make it work no matter how hard I tried. The product is dry, clumpy, and I found myself accidentally pulling out eyelashes trying to apply it.

This is the closest I've found to a HG mascara. It thickens and lengthens my long but very pale and thin lashes. It's what I pull out when I want vavoom lashes. It smudges ever so slightly, so I took away one lippie. For that reason it's not total HG material because that means I can't wear it onstage when I perform. I also believe this might now be discontinued so I stocked up and bought 3 tubes at Big Lots for $2 each. So now I'll be set for awhile.

This is my HG mascara and I can't find it in stores any longer! I have very long, dark lashes, so I look for mascaras that thicken without being clumpy. This is absolutely perfect; when I wear this, I'm frequently asked if I wear falsies! It doesn't smudge or clump, and I can't find another mascara like it :(

Just like the reviewers below I am surprised at so many negative comments but then again, as said, it is a personal thing, and still... This is an awesome mascara for the fake lashes effect. I had it a couple of years ago and I have good impressions about it. And by the way I am talking about Lash Architect in the silver grey tube :) It may feel dry after a month or two though.

I, too, am surprised at the negative feedback this mascara is getting. This just solidifies how personal mascara is. For me, this mascara works extremely well. Keep in mind that it is a lengthening mascara and nowhere does it promise volume. If you're looking for volume, head another direction. As far as length goes, it gives me great length (granted, I already have fairly long lashes) and it gave me an awesome curl. I didn't even need to curl my lashes.

Overall, I would definitely try it even if you have shorter lashes. You never know what mascara is going to work for you. For me, it didn't clump in the slightest, separated nicely, gave awesome length (the best I've used, especially in drug store brand), and curled well.

This mascara has been one of my staples for years. I am quite surprised at the negative reviews it gets on MUA. I i said in a previous review, i think it's about the quality of the products in Europe versus the US- in Europe most drugstore products are more expensive than in the US.
Anyway. This mascara is wonderful for me. I love it because:
- when it is brand new, it is rather liquid but not watery.
-the scent is ok, pretty much like any other mascara
- the brush is densely packed, the bristles are medium length and densely packed, they catch all my lashes and i can comb and comb until i get the desired effect without having to stick the wand into the tube a second time due to that exact liquid consistency
-doesn't clump unless it's very old (2-3 months maybe)
-lengthens a lot, adds volume and curl, i usually curl my lashes before and it maintains the curl
-the lashes are black, no fall outs on the cheeks;
- silky aspects of the lashes, they don't look chunky

Overall aspect: i get long lashes without chunkiness. Will continue purchasing and repurchasing, hope they don't discontinue it. It's the closest a drugstore mascara can get to a high-end one (like Fiberwig, for example).

This mascara worked for me. It was easy to apply and gave me a natural look, yet did lengthen and give my lashes a little volume. My lashes weren't crunchy, but this was awful to wash off. The smell wasn't too strong and the mascara was black enough. I had a little problem with flaking and smudging, but nothing terrible. It did hold a curl slightly.
I won't be buying this again, because I am searching for my HG and this is not it.

Well, I wanted to like this. The sleek and modern silver case, the skinny brush that could get close to my roots which are almost white blonde(but are naturally black on the ends, go figure). But it didn't. Didn't stick to my lashes at the roots to darken, clumped like crazy, took all the curl out of my lashes. Blegh. Least I got it on clearence. In the trash it goes!

I have naturally long, thick lashes and my 20ish daughter has mine plus more!. It took us a long time to find a mascara that worked well for us. I've been really happy with L'Oreal Lash Out and her HG has Maybelene Great Lash. She tried Rimmel's Glam Eyes in Extreme Black and we both switched to it for the amazing length it gave.
I bought this L'Oreal mascara in January in Mexico and it sat in my make up drawer until last month. Now, we were really I happy with the 10X length, but we wanted a bit more volume. So I tried the Lash Architect and WOW!!! Instant false eye lash look. If need be for evenings we can add the Rimmel but not necessary. We put on 1 heavy coat and run an eyelash comb through and Ta-Dah!

One big problem though- can't find any store up here in Canada that's carrying it. But we'll continue to hunt b/c we really love it.

This mascara is not horrible but it's not going to give you vavavoom lashes. The tube is nice looking and the brush is small compared to other wands. But like I said it's average.

I hated this. Just couldn't get it to go on evenly - upon application it gave me soggy clumps, then my lashes dried to knobbly black twigs. Not my finest moment...
