For reference, I'm pretty fair and have acne prone, combination skin. This powder didn't break me out. I love this boxed powder. It works well to contour and sculpt cheeks, but quickly! I first purchased this back in 2006/2007. I used it as prescribed with the included brush, sweeping it across my cheeks with the highlighter on top, bronzer on the bottom. And yes, it's a good idea to just tap off the excess. The shimmer didn't bother me as I felt it really gave me a nice glow, plus I got compliments often (always a plus!) It's really great too during the summer if you have a bit of color and want a low maintenance look. Use TM, a sweep of powder, 10 on the cheeks, the highlighter of 10 on your eyes, and mascara. BAM, you're done, polished and fresh looking! The only reason I never repurchased this was the price, I could use highbeam or a highbeam dupe (like e.l.f.'s lilac petal) with a bronzer and get a similar look, just taking a tad bit more time and the products would last me longer than this boxed powder. There are many dupes and wannabes for Benefit 10, but none come close because of the highlighter in particular. To me, 10's highlighter is like a powder version of highbeam! LOVE!

It's important to know the review is by. UK senior pro veteran of 20 plus years. No, no definitely one of the worse benefit products I have tried, Pro artist hate shimmer bronzers. They are, a bone of contention amongst senior pros.
bronzers, when used correctly, mimic where the sun hits the face naturally, and must look natural, the sun has no nasty shimmer. I never purchased it, It was given by a student for me to test. Benefit would have had a real winner here, if they had coordinated the high light pink with hoola, which I really like, strangely the pink, has less shimmer than the bronze, I think the intention of this product was, maybe, a dual hi lighter.
shimmer bronzers, pick up fine lines, open pores, they are useless, for any skin imperfections, or fine lines, and don't get me started on HD use, yet there is an abundance of them,in comparison to matte
Also the pigmentation is not the usual benefit quality. Users with medium to dark skin, would be far better to invest in a another product. I'm informed it is now being discontinued

Bought this on a weird whim and am liking it a lot more than I thought I would! Like several other Benefit products, this works well for me in a way that makes me sure it's not at all for everyone. I have very fair skin (MAC NW10) and I can get quite a subtle look with 10, which makes me wonder if it's pigmented enough for most skintones. That said, I do find it quite effective. The shade of bronzer avoids orange and red tones, so even with the slight shimmer, it's truly a good contour colour rather than looking like a blush or fake-tan product. The highlighter is subtle, so that I can build the look a bit without going full-on 80s frost. I'm enjoying having this alternative to my usual rosy-cheeked blush look.
The packaging works fine - I actually use the included brush, which I haven't for any other Benefit blush or bronzer. But in this case, it's soft enough to use, and it's handy to have a brush that fits the box perfectly so I can use both shades at once (then BLEND) without having to fight my way around to pick up one shade, then the other. It would be much better if they were packaged more like a palette, so that I could use whatever brush I like more easily. It's the usual Benefit gimmickiness, but in this case it's working out fine.

I finally got my hands on this product and it's terrible. I can't believe I didn't even bother trying it out first, but I saw a salesperson try it on my friend's face and she really did have instant cheekbones.
In my case however, it doesn't show up at all no matter how much product I try to pile on. My skin isn't all that dark, about NC25, and I can't see anything show up on my skin at all. Adding to that, the powder smells grossly sweet and makes me sneeze. The packaging is supremely ugly, is that a photo of some orange person's tummy from Jersey Shore?!
I'll use it just for the sake of using it but I'm never getting it again. Best try the product on yourself first before buying it.

I just recently repurchased this product. When I first got it, I didn't really use blush, and when I started out it was with bronzer. Bronzer ended up doing more harm than good because of my very fair skin, so I looked for something that could give me a warm glow without any sign of an Oompa Loompa. This is it! I can easily contour my cheeks without paying much attention to which side I'm brushing in. It also works nicely as a shimmer for your décolletage and a highlighter for your brow bone.

I really do like this product. I use the darker shade for bronzing and contouring, the lighter shade for highlighting the tops of my cheeks and my nose, and both to add a bit of colour all over my face.
You get a brush included which doesn't shed at all. This product has lasted me about 2 years and I'm not even finished with it yet. Would defiantly buy again.
Cons: The price. Agh Benefit, why are you trying to make me poor??

I love this stuff. I've had it for a long time, wear it often, and still have quite a bit left. The brush they give you makes it easy to brush both colors on at the same time. I will say this though... make sure you tap the excess off the brush and blow a bit on the darker color until you get the hang of it. Sometimes I use just the highlighter powder by itself as well. I like to use this brush from
I've never been a fan of Benefit's packaging for powder products, but that's just the way it is.

This product is great for highlighting/contouring in a snap. I don't use it much anymore, but all of last summer I used this + my Tarte amazonian clay blush (in Tipsy) and it gave me the prettiest glow to my face. It lasts decently well and it's a good quality product- you get what you pay for. The brush it comes with is great too- I use it to apply the product then use a blush brush to blend it out. It's also really hard to run out of this- I bought this about a year ago and I still have tons of product left. It is quite expensive; I would not purchase it again solely because of the price. Everything else is fantastic.

I really love this product! I find Benefit a bit gimmicky with the packaging and names but i would repurchase this in a heartbeat- although i've had it for 2 years and wear it at least three times a week and have loads left. I have olive skin but this still shows up and compliments my skin tone all year round. although its shimmery its not in your face but fairly suble-ish. Loads of product, doesn't smell goes on great-what's not too love? The brush is good and i use it straight from the box although i should probably blend it more so maybe use a full sized blusher brush. Lots of people complain about the benefit box packaging, but i don;t find it an issue as it has an actual lid you can fully take off as opposed to one thats still attached to the box whcih is harded to open. I read that this was one of benefits unpopular/un raved product but this surprises me. It is expensive but lasts ages and i use it lots. The only complaint i have is the name- 10?
The bronze is a perfect colour not orange at all...which is very hard to find...as i am also looking for a nice coloured matt bronzer too which seems impossible..

I decided to try this product after reading all the good reviews. I can see why some people like the duo, two in one, bronzer and highlighter combo. However, I myself am not a huge fan of it. It goes on easy but you do have to blend it out a bit. Because of my medium/fair skin, I feel like the bronzer color doesn't really show up as much on my skin. This product is also a bit shimmery and I prefer matte bronzers. The highlighter works well but only as a highlighter...you'll have to use a separate blush if you want more color on your face. To me it just takes up more time for me to blend and apply this product and the colors don't really match well with my face. I would not buy this product again but I can definitely see why people with lighter skin would love it.

Love this stuff. At first I wasn't sure about the brush that came with it, but it really is a perfect way to contour cheeks! The bronze is a great shade and not orange at all. The highlighter shade can also be used all over as a highlight in place of the liquid highbeam that Benefit sells. The only complaint is the packaging. I have had mine for a while now and eventually the metal tray will come loose from the card board box. Also if you get the cardboard box wet at all it will be useless to keep the product in. It would be nice if they did a magnetic palette compact that you can add shades to instead of using the cardboard box.

I was planning to buy a seperate bronzer and highlighter until the Benefit girl told me this was more of a good deal. She tried it on me because I was feeling pretty skeptical at first.
The bronzer is quite matte looking which is exactly what I wanted. I like to use a fatter brush and use the highlighter in a > shape on my left cheek and a < shape on my right cheek, slightly below the undereye area. Then brush the bronzer just below my cheekbones. It makes my face more contoured and brighter.
For anybody looking for a 2 in one bronzer and highlighter, I'd really recommend this! Thumbs up! :)

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I have quite a full face and need to contour every day. Having used a few of their blush boxes before I was so pleased to try this duo-product out.
I apply this with the benefit fantail brush not eith the one provided becuase its too bulky for contouring. The bronzer is matte but with the finest of shimmer, you dont want a shimmery brozer for contouring becuase it looks too fake. The bronzer is soft and well pigmented, you can layer this up to however much you want and it smells lovely too.
The highlighter is perfect! I use this on my cheeckbones, cupids bow, across the forhead and just above the brow arch to the hairline. it blends amaingly well and feels so light, the shimmer is lovely, not grainy or chunky.
Only downpoint i would say is that becuase of the two being together, when u wear them down they go into like two hollows on either side and it can be hard to get just the one colour out. So i have to buy a new one before it finishes. If you wear this every day it lasts a month and a bit. Becuase of cost i now use MAC mineralise in soft and gentle and benefit hola becuase they last aaages.

I bought this on a whim because I like Benefit box blushes and at first I regretted it. I stupidly thought it was a blusher which is what the benefit girl told me and as a blusher its horrible. I thought it just looks like two stripes across my face and even blended it didn't look right. It wasn't until I learnt about conturing that I dug this out and realised its a great product. I don't use it everyday, but if I have the time I use it before I apply blusher to create the look of high cheek bones.

I normally do products I loved only for review - but this product leaves me so puzzled I feel compelled to write one despite me not really liking it.
I saw this recommended by a few gurus I really like - they said it is their favorite powder highlighter. I am still quite tan (in winter I have light olive/yellow-whitish skin, in summer a nice tan olive), so the bronzer did not really show up and I brushed on quite a bit. (I love Hoola and use it also in summer, a bobbi brown bronzer for me is Bali, fyi.)
Well then I tried the highlighter, and when I looked at myself up close in artificial lighting I was quite shocked to see chunks of glitter on my cheek, and it seemed to be both the highlighter and the bronzer (I may be wrong about the highlighter, though). I may make this work for evenings, but my hope I would be using this during the day is definitely down. Lately I love highlighting the top of my cheekbone also during the day, and I find the Bobbi Brown shimmerbricks are lovely during the day, too (I use Nectar (coral/pink) and the one that claims to do candlelight glow, I think it is Beige - and the promise is kept!!) or the Mac lustredrops in the golden (darker) colour. Would not swap any of those for this product!! They work for day AND night and look very subtle.
I also think on my skin now the highlighter is too whitish, but it may work in winter. Pity! I may try and use the two colours swirled together as someone here suggested, although that really does not solve my glitter problem...
I am somewhat unsure if there is something about this product I do "wrong" since so many people like it.. will try again sometime. But for now for me it is one of the few benefit box'o'powder misses (I own sugarbomb, coralista, dallas, bella bamba and probably some more!)

This is one of those products that will forever be mixed in with my makeup. I stumbled across it one day after years of using the same pinky blush, which to be honest i was a bit of a novice with blushes. I love the cute packaging, i was a bit unsure about the brush but it was nice that you got one with it, it's so easy to apply, for anyone that (like i was) a bit unsure on the whole highlighting cheekbone thing this makes it simple, the darker part I'm sure wouldn't suit all skin tones, but I'm fairly light and it worked for me! I tend to use the lighter side more anyways. Becareful not to put too much on the brush and blend otherwize u'll end up with harsh lines. Pricey but aren't all benefit products... Get on eBay!

I watched a tutorial on Youtube about this product and decided to purchase it, having never used a highlight or contouring shade before. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the product! I used the brush that came with the product for a while, and that worked alright over my blush, but now I tend to use a smaller contouring brush to dip into the highlight and contour shades individually to better fit my face.
The contouring shad is quite dark for my skin color (fair) but I use a light hand when applying and it works fine. I love the highlight! Both go on smoothly and blend out very nicely!
My only complaint would be the packaging. My top has become loose and so when I go to pick up the box only the top comes up. However, my friend recently purchased this product but hers came in a different case, one that had a magnetized flap top, which seems to work better. I also have to keep the plastic covering inside to help keep loose product from coming out and making a mess.
I definitely will repurchase this product! I used it on several friends who have gone out and purchased it themselves already!

10 is a fabulous little duo. Benefit really filled a gap in the market in making this little princess. I think im a bigger fan of the powder highlighter to be honest. It not as easy to messy this bit up as it is to make a wrong move with the bronzing bit.
Highlighting powder is gorgeous, maybe better than a powder form of high beam even :P This girl juicystar on you tube does a great tutorial of it if anyone's interested. Striping it on with the little brush they give and then evening with a proper powder brush really helps. Im fair-ish skinned. Not pale and not tanned, so i have to use the bronzer sparingly.
The fact that this does so many jobs in one convenient and cute little box (is that a lady's belly and hips on the front of the box?) really warrants it as being a HG product for me. I can see why it has cult status for sure. I hope they never ever discontinue it!
Get a benefit gal to show you how, or follow the easy instructions that come in the box1 :)

I really like the bronzer in this product, it works well with my skin tone and contours my cheeks nicely. However I don't like the highlighter, it barely shows on my skin which is a shame because when I swatched at the counter it looked really pretty but it doesn't do the job on my face.
I don't like the brush it comes with, if you sweep it down the middle of the two then onto your face it will streak and not look good at all. So I threw that away and used my own brush but because the box is so small I find it difficult to get the right amount of product onto my brush and covering my brush.
I hate the packaging, the cardboard box gets really tatty over time and if you ever spilled any water over it then you'd probably have to decant the whole thing.
Thumbs up for the bronzer, big thumbs down for everything else.
