I don't know what everyone is doing wrong to give them no color payoff, but this has always given me very good color. I've never had a problem or had to layer it. I apply a very small amount with a thick brush and it gives a great healthy sheen to the skin, in a tone that compliments an already cool-toned complexion. I love it! The color is so unique. It does not make you look "bruised." (I guess if you apply way too much it might?...)

Also, it's WATERPROOF! I forget where I had read this, but it's true.... put some water on it and it beads off!

Pretty light cool toned pink flush. Almost a little on the violet side...which is fine. Gives the skin a healthy sheen. Wish it were just a tad darker on my NC35 skin tone. Very pretty and girly though... and it's unique. Try if you can!

I'm 15 and i really love blush to give me a natural glow instead of piling on eyeliner like everyone else... haha

First off, i've always wanted to try out Cargo for their blushes since i've heard a lot of great things about them. I went to Sephora and all of Cargo was 50% off, so i got this for around $12, which was great!

I have pretty pale, cool toned skin. I really liked this particular color because it had both plum and rosy-pink colors in it which i loved. It's got a nice frosty shimmer, but it's not glittery at all. I use it w/ a standard blush brush, and just swirl the brush lightly in it since it's so soft and pigmented. A little goes a long way. It applies so nicely and blends out perfectly. It gives me a glowy, pink flush that really wakes me up. I think the tin it comes in is soo cute, and it comes with quite a bit of product in it. I like to wear this blush and just some mascara, and i look so awake and not overdone. I think every teen should ditch the heavy eyeliner and use some blush instead! haha

OVERALL i love this, and i seriously want every single color Cargo has to offer. I think everyone should try it out!

UPDATE: Okay I took a lippie off after I got Montebello. This now looks too purple for me, and it is too dark for my skin. It has a slightly bruised effect. I guess before I was mainly looking at this blush under soft yellow lights, but once outside, this looks slightly muddy and it is way dark for my complexion. Love it in the pan though, and love it under soft stage light.

I strongly disagree with the other users saying this has no colour pay off. This is a plummy berry glowy blush, and the colour pay off is amazing. I have light skin, about Mac NW20-25, and this shows up gorgeous on me. I like how it is pigmented under the pretty glow, unlike some other brands of shimmery blushes, where only the shimmer builds up instead of the actual blush colour. This is more like a natural flush on cheeks that looks calmer and more sophisticated than pink, perfect for fall and winter. You need to try this on your face instead of swatch it on your hands in Sephora, because it might look too sparkly on your hand, but when you put it on your face, it is not sparkly at all, it just glows. For the price, this amount is decent and is actually cheaper than MAC blushes, and the quality is by far the best I have found in blushes. I am in love. Next stop: Montebello.

This is really just a frosty pink. I like glowy/frosty/shimmery finishes, but this one looked kind of unreal on me, possibly because of my skin tone (light, slightly tanned olive). I could see this working nicely brushed lightly over the apples of the cheeks on someone with pale, cool, porcelaine skin, though; then it might give a pretty sort of doll-like look. The color showed up on me and I find it to be buildable, but (on me) reminded me a little of that too-pink too-cool malibu barbie type look.

I disagree with the comments that there's no color payoff with the Barbary Coast blush - I haven't used mine often because there was too much color. My cheeks tend to be very ruddy and red to begin with, and this just accentuated that further, and not in a good way. The dark pink shade settled right into my cheeks and made my cheeks look even more red and inflamed. I absolutely love the Gold Coast shade of this blush, but this shade is disappointing.

For reference: I'm very light/pale with cool to neutral undertones.

If you're expecting lots of opaque color from Barbary Coast, you'll probably be disappointed. It consists of three colors-- a fairly neutral plum tone, a light warm-toned pink, and a dusty pink/mauve. When swirled together, it gives my cheeks a healthy pink glow. It's not shimmery but more "glowy" if that makes sense. If you have very oily skin, you may want to skip this. The color is sheer but buildable; I'm so pale that it's very easy for me to over apply this. I'm pleased with how long it lasts throughout the day as well. Overall, I'm happy I purchased Barbary Coast and would definitely repurchase it if I didn't already have too many blushes. ;)

The first reviewer is absolutely right. While Barbary Coast is the prettiest of the three coast blushes, it still does not have any color payoff, and might as well be advertised as a face shimmer. I am used to rosy cheeks, so looking at myself with this on was shocking, since I was so colorless! If you are looking for a pink plum color in Cargo, try Gotham instead.

I held off on these blushes till recently because of all the negative reviews. I waited several months until I saw them in person and think the initial negatives are wrong. But i guess its all a matter of personal taste and opinion. I normally like shimmer but not too much that settles into the pores and enlarging them. I heard these had a lot of shimmer but I dont feel that way. I love these! Barbary Coast is the pinky plummy swirl of color. MY least favorite in the pan but its gorgeous on. Its a soft rosy plum shade on my cheeks with just a little pink shimmer to it. Lasts all day. I do have to add a couple swipes to get enough color on my NC30 light olive skintone but i would not say this has no pigment. Rather, enough to use all over or layer as a blush. Retails for $24.

Wow! I tried this on at Sephora but hesitated because I already have a couple of other blushes that are dusty rose/plummy pink, but I ended up going back to the store later that night because of how gorgeous it looked. It makes my cheeks look airbrushed and gives a gorgeous healthy glow to my GGG complexion. I plan to give the other Suedeblushes a try next!

I really like this blush! On me it's a nice plum with a bit of pink. It does have a glowy sheen to it but no sparkle or glitter,we actually had some sunshine today and I ran out on my deck with a mirror to see if it had noticeable glitter/sparkle and I couldn't see any. Very pretty with a sheer plum lip. I'm fair, blonde and blue.

This blush is mainly shimmer with virtually no color payoff. It comes out a pale plum sparkly look on the cheeks. Very disappointing. I returned mine
