Really pretty color in the pan and I got it for a great price ($4). It has a smooth texture and is easy to apply. However, I get little to no color payoff no matter how much I pack on, and I get a lot of "fallout," with eyeshadow under my eyes. Update: ok, I don't know if this shadow has some firm top layer that you have to break through or what, but once I got "into" it, it seemed to show up a lot more, and I didn't need as much on my brush. It lasts all day without creasing (my eyelids aren't oily). I like it, and want to try more colors.

I had stayed away from Ulta eyeshadows for a long time because, let's face it, the quality used to be pretty abysmal. I decided to give this one a try after reading the reviews on here, and I'm glad that I did. This is a gorgeous, shimmery taupe with purplish accents. It's a surprisingly complex color for being such an inexpensive product. It wore all day for me over TFSI with no creasing and very minimal fading. I'm going back to pick up a few more of the top-rated colors, since it seems like they've changed their formula for the better!

A shimmery taupe with zero color payoff. Contains parabens and terephthalates.

This was my first try at Ulta eye shadow. Such a beautiful color. I was really impressed with the quality and blending! I have red hair and fair skin and I generally buy browns/neutrals/taupes ... and this color covers them all. I can easily see this color becoming my favorite.
I got this during Ulta's buy 2 get 2 free so it was $3.50. And you get a LOT of product. They got tons of color choices, can't wait to try the other 3 I got.
Overall, very happy ... will definitely buy more colors in the future.

The packaging or formula might have changed since I bought mine, but I recently picked it up again and was stunned. It's an unusual shade of taupe, maybe the queen of taupes. On my lids it takes on this icy lavender gray taupe shade, and I do use UDPP under it. Without a primer it will be too sheer. With LA Splash sealer/base it's metallic and out of this world beautiful. This is a very cool toned taupe, so warm skin tones might dislike it, and some very fair skin tones might find it washes them out or enhances blue tones in their skin. I paid only about $3 for it way back when and now I use it almost every day. It has a lot of pigment when you swatch it and the shadow is soft. Not as buttery as it could be, but soft and not chalky at all. Ulta does love to change their formula every year, so I hope it stays this good and the color doesn't change. Twilight is a rare shade. Anyone who loves taupe should own it.

Love this color so much! My eyes are a teal blue/green color and this makes for a great twist on a smokey eye.
I use it on both top of lid and bottom lashline for daytime. If I want something more dramatic, I use it with black eyeliner and loads of Maybelline Falsies mascara.
The only thing that sucks is there is no applicator, nor anyplace to store your own.

I'm glad to see that some other reviewers thought this looked much like MAC's Satin Taupe as well. We recently got a MAC counter near us, so I went to swatch some of MUA's most mentioned MAC shadows. As soon as I swatched Satin Taupe I thought it was so close to Ulta's Twilight that there was definitely no point owning them both. There might be a slight difference in the finish...IMO, Satin Taupe has more of a satin finish while Twilight has more sheen, but still, not enough for me to justify a purchase of Satin Taupe. And can we just talk about the price difference??? Most of my Ulta shadows have cost about $3.33 (I like the 3 for $10 deals!)...I can get almost 5 Ulta shadows for the cost of one MAC! I do own one MAC shadow, and I find the quality of my Ulta shadows to be completely on par with MAC. Now, onto the one little quibble I have with this shadow....it works fine on me if I'm out at night, but in the broad daylight, it's not the best shadow on me; it clashes with my undertones a bit. That's not the shadow's fault though, so I'm not knocking any points off for it.

Gorgeous taupe color. Makes for a perfect day time smoky eye look. I bought this to pair with Ulta's sandstone eyeshadow and they look incredible together. It applies smoothly and is very pigmented. Not bad for a sale price of 2 for $6.

This is my favorite shadow. Bought it on a whim for .98 and have worn it every day since. So flattering on my fair but tanned complexion. Flatters any eye color. I use with Too Faced Shadow Insurance and it looks perfect. My new favorite!

This is a really pretty shimmery purple-ish taupe. It is really pigmented and blends really beautifuly, especially for the price. I bought it awhile ago, and barely used it, because I didn't really know how to wear darker shades like this....but thanks to youtube and all the wonderful gurus, i've finally figured out some better eyeshadow application techniques. I apply this shade all over the lid, blend it outward toward the crease and then use a matte warmer brown shade (from a l'oreal HIP duo) in the crease, and a matte vanilla shade in the inner corner and browbone to brighten it up a bit. It gives a really pretty smoky/sultry affect, that looks really nice on my green eyes. For a slightly more dramatic look you can also add the matte plum shade from the Wet n Wild palette in lust in the outer corner of the eye.

I've never seen the movie and hope I never do, but I agree with all the raves for this eyeshadow. To my eye it's a silvery taupe with plum tones; the Ulta sales person said to me, 'This is a grown-up purple.' Other reviewers have pointed out it's in the same family as NYX Root Beer, Bobbi Brown Fawn, and Guerlain's Oriental Metal Khol, though it's harder in texture than Root Beer and more silvery, less brown than Fawn and the khol. It looks incredible with blue eyes, foils nicely, has a mellow shimmer, lasts, and makes a lovely, subtle eyeliner. And so cheap--$3 when you buy 2 e/s at Ulta; truly a steal. I've worn it over Benefit Skinny Jeans, to up the silver taupiness, and over a neutral base, which makes it appear more lavender, but it's always subtle and classy. The case isn't posh but it's solid and I don't worry about it shattering in my bag as I do with some other inexpensive brands.

I got this eye shadow & to be honest wasn't expecting much out of it. It looked brown in it's container & I'm not a big fan of browns. But it's a much prettier color than that! It's shimmery and has kind of a purple tint. One of my favorite Ulta eye shadows!

in the pan, this appeared to be gray, but on my lid had a more brown tone. eitherway, its a beautiful shade! what a sheen! it has a glimmer without making you look like a kid in mama's makeup kit. great for contouring!

I am very fair, and I thought this was such a pretty color when I swatched it. When I applied it, however, it made me look like I had a black eye. I can see how this would look good on darker skins, but on me, it was awful. I returned it.

This is such a pretty shimmery dusky purple eyeshadow! I have fair skin and this looked so great on me. I didn't use any eye shadow primer when I wore this and the color stayed on perfect all day without creasing. This is one of my favorite Ulta eye shadows! Great for day and night wear. I will rebuy if/when I run out :)

I haven't reached pan on this yet and i've had it for months! this is my all time favorite eyeshadow!!!!! I love the quality of Ulta shadows and i'm so glad i ran across this one!! it looks beautiful on, my mom says it looks the best on me out of all of my other shadows. ( note, i had very cool tones to my skin) This was my first Ulta shadow and it started quite a frenzy, i dont even want to know how many i have now! this is the best of the best, however my gel eyeliner gets muted down when i wear it with this...so i have to wear my cake one with this. LOVE THIS SHADOW!!! if you're light it may be a bit much, but darks look best on me so its a win!

This is one of my favorite eyeshadows! I love Ulta eyeshadows because they're highly pigmented and last all day long with no creasing - seriously! Twlight is a beautiful greyish-purple shadow that can be applied dry for a daytime look, or wet for a dramatic evening effect. The price is great and the eyeshadow pots are huge! They'll last forever! Twilight is definitely one of the best colors from this line.

If Gunmetal and Mystique were to spit out a baby, it would be Twilight. Its a lovely taupe that makes for a great bold, dark eye. If you are someone who has a hard time wearing black shadow, deep gray shadows or can't use those colors for a smokey eye, try twilight. I'll bet it will make it more comfortable to wear an eye like that. And, depending on HOW you wear it and with what other colors, it can really be a shadow appropriate for office environments too! I like to wear it over a creamy base (like NYX jumbo pencils) because it brings out the true color of the shadow and doesn't allow my skin coloring to mix or muddy the color. Twilight is actually a shadow I had had a hard time getting my hands on...specifically because of its name. LOL! It is sold out quite frequently at my Ulta. As with the other Ulta shadows, you get a lot in the pan and they are creamy (as in silky and easy to blend). I wear Too Face Shadow Insurance under all my eyeshadows, so I have never had any problems with the colors fading or creasing. Ulta shadows are a little gem people over look...and because of that, they are missing out!

Twilight is just a beautiful color. My second favorite Ulta shade. This wasn't on my wish list, but I saw it in-store and just couldn't resist. It's a taupe/silver/purple color with just the right amount of "frost." It's a perfect in-between shade, when you don't want a light, natural look, but not a heavy, bold one either. It goes great with brown eyes. Very pigmented, silky, blend-able and affordable. Could easily compete with MAC! What's not to love?! I will definitely buy this color again!
