This is a creamy serum for lightening pigmentation and treating photodamage. The main active ingredient is Idebenone, which is a super potent antioxidant. This is meant to be a serum/treatment product that you can apply under a moisturizer or by itself. Since it contains retinol I only use it at night. Here is an article about it's effectiveness against prescription strength Hydroquinone (which is cytotoxic)
An eight week blinded bilateral study comparing the efficacy of Radiance Revealing Complex with Idebenone to prescription strength bleaching gel (4% hydroquinone) in the treatment of hyperpigmentation

J.C. Dinardo, M.S.

abstract: ten women, between the ages of l8 and 65, with moderate hyperpigmentation (demonstrating striking uneven pigmentation when screened with ultraviolet light) were selected to participate in the study. The subjects were given sample "a" and "b" which were randomly assigned to the left or right side of the face. panelists were instructed to apply the products twice a day (morning and evening) to the facial area for 8 weeks. Expert grader evaluations for fine lines/wrinkles, reduction in pigmentation, irritation potential, and overall improvements of the skin were made at baseline and at 4 and 8 weeks after product use. Standard 35 mm and ultraviolet photographs were also taken, standardizing distance and positioning of the subjects, pre and post product application.

Data generated for Radiance Revealing Complex verses prescription hydroquinone indicated no differences in irritation potential or reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. Conversely, a 13% difference between the products was noted for general skin lightening and overall improvement (Radiance Revealing Complex being directionally better).

results: In conclusion, the data generated for the products tested implies that radiance reveaung complex is directionally better than prescription strength hydroquinone.

I absolutely love this product! I tried it after reading a review in Allure magazine last year. The reviewers tried several fading creams and said that this one worked best with results showing after 2 weeks. I have a little sun damage and I get red spots from the occassional zit. I'm 53 with oily skin that tends to break out. This stuff eliminated any spots and seems to keep my skin from breaking out. I use Jan Marini skincare and I added this to my regimen. When I ran out, I couldn't find it on Ebay (it's terribly expensive otherwise) so I tried the True Youth Revealing Complex which also has the same amount of Ibedenone. It wasn't as good. I tried Prevage MD and my skin broke out worse! I decided to go back to this product and found it cheaper on Amazon.com. Within 3 days, I saw a difference. My skin isn't as oily and any blemishes I had completely went away. It is a creamy formulation and one pump will cover your whole face. I also am using it on my decollete to fade some sun damage. My one complaint about this product is that you have no way to tell how much product is left in the bottle. It isn't transparent and you can't unscrew the top. That always bugs me with pricey skincare, because I am not above unscrewing the top and getting the last drop out with a q-tip, but I can't do it with this. Still, in spite of that, I will be repurchasing. The results are too dramatic not to!

this yellow treatment cream is wonderful....I called for samples from Maxine Salon in Chicago and I got completely hooked. Two of the little sample packets lasted about a week and a half, but within three days I noticed some slight dark marks along my jawline were gone. After three days! I had heard about this product in some magazine, and it got good reviews so I checked out the TRUE web site. What I really liked, and what made me want to try the product, was that it was all natural and included idebenone. Idebenone is a potent antioxidant but it is very hard to find in skincare products; the only other two I know of right now are Prevage and Idebenol. The first of these I have not tried but I know it did not get very good reviews, and the second is completely misleading since it does not carry "real" idebenone. The cream itself is a treatment product and not a moisturizer, is yellow, and smells very faintly of sulphur. Trust me, the smell is VERY faint or effective or not, I wouldn't be using it:P I applied this at night before moisturizing, and my skin almost immediately appeared brighter and more even, and it has faded the slight discolorations around my jawline. I am very happy with this product; it comes in a 1-oz. plastic pump container, which is good since this prevents contamination. Looking forward to seeing what my skin looks like using this long term if a week and a half gave me such good results:)
