The perfect shade of red ! This is by far my favorite red polish ever ! Classic red. I pair this with both base and top coat from Essie, and it lasts a long time. It looks so classy I love it so much !

My HG red for fingers and toes. I've repurchased several times. A gorgeous, creamy, 1950's vintage red. And long lasting. With a top coat, I find I can go a week without touch ups.

WOOHOO! This colour actually makes me laugh out loud at how bright it is... It's shockingly bright! I don't think I will be wearing this to the office for quite a while... need to get my courage up and practice at home with it on my toes first. This red is not for the faint-hearted, but it's the perfect '50s housewife bright orangey red. I love it.

Although Essie polishes usually need a few coats to be opaque, this one covers everything evenly in one coat.

Love this red. I've never had a true red like this. It looks really pretty against my pale skin, I think it would look great on all skin tone's. It's just so red! It's smooth dries wonderfully. Just wish I didn't have to apply as many coats and I prefer a bigger brush, but this one is a keeper. Essie is quickly becoming my second in line beside O.P.I..

Russian Roulette is a warm red with an excellent consistency, two coats and you're set. When I am not sure what color to paint my nails, I go with this.

Beautiful bright red. I was worried it would pull orange on my skintone but no issue there! It really makes my nails pop and is wonderful to apply - I find it's a little more runny than most essie polishes, but to its advantage! Two coats and it's opaque with no streaking or bubbling. Highly recommend!

This is the perfect red jelly creme. It's a bold candy red that would wear well in any season, in my opinion. It applied like a dream and was opaque in two coats. I generally use a top coat for extra shine/protection, but the shine of Russian Roulette was great on its own. Highly recommended if you need a gorgeous classic red in your collection!

I love this color! When I'm wearing it, I look down at my hands and it makes me happy! It is a bright, warm orangey red. I think it is a color that just might look good year round. So far, I've been enjoying it in the warm weather, anyway!

There are, however, some cons to this lovely polish. I started getting tip wear after just one day, and as the color is so bright, it was extremely noticeable, so I had to repair my manicure a bit every evening. I also noticed that a bit too much polish often came off of the brush, so I had to be very careful about wiping it off thoroughly to avoid making a mess.

Otherwise, it's a great color that I would always like to have on hand!

Russian Roulette is one of my all-time favorite reds. It's a bright, warm (orangey) red jellyish creme that looks amazing on medium/ tanned skin. This is opaque at two coats, but I love to do three :)

I absolutely love red nail polish and after trying so many different ones including Essie Really Red, Turning Heads Red, Jelly Apple and Forever Young, OPI Big Apple Red, Revlon Red I finally found my HG in this shade.
Russian Roulette is definitely not a neutral red. It is a warm bright red with orange undertones. I guess as in my case this one should be ideal for warmer complexions (although having said this it might create an interesting contrast on paler skin tones).
For me this is a shade of red I have been searching for. The formula is also really good. It doesn't streak (the problem I had with Really Red or Turning Heads Red) and provides a good coverage with a single coat (obviously as with most polishes two coats are recommended to get the best colour saturation).
As with all Essie polishes the staying power is brilliant. I'm really happy with this one. In fact I already ordered another bottle and will be repurchasing when I run out.

I'm a huge fan of Essie nail polish, so needless to say, I love this vibrant shade of red. I don't like to give up red polish entirely in the summer, and this shade is vibrant enough for me to get away with wearing in warmer weather. I change my nail polish often (a little too much), so I never know the exact staying power, but I've worn it for a week without chipping...and without a top coat. Completely worth $7.00!!!

I've discovered that Essie makes some of my all-time favorite reds, and this is no exception. I bought Russian Roulette based on fivezero's pretty pic (below), and I was definitely not disappointed. It's a bright red creme without being neon or garish, and it applied beautifully in two coats. It has a translucent, jelly-type finish that adds to the gorgeousness of the shade. Against my cool skin tone, there also seems to be a corally tinge that keeps it from being a totally true red. The wear was great, too -- until I broke a nail in a tragic dog-walking mishap and had to scrap the whole mani. Anyway, it's a great red polish. I can't think of any dupes off the top of my head, so definitely pick one up if you're a red/creme/jelly finish fan.

I wanted this for such a long time, just because of the name, and finally bought it online, based only on a questionable web swatch. I thought that Russian Roulette would be more of a dark, blue-based red, but it's definitely a warmed up (slightly orange-toned), medium and bright red creme. Looks fab with my NC30-35 yellow-toned skin! It reminds me of OPI's discontinued Daytona Red, which I adore—except Russian Roulette is redder (less orange) and a tad deeper. Like Daytona Red, Russian Roulette applies smoothly and utterly streak-free.
