I have been using this lotion for a few years now. As a moisturizer, it isn't fantastic - almost feels a bit sticky when it's put on, doesn't absorb really well. I use it mostly as a spot treatment when I see a pimple coming, and it works pretty decently to prevent pimples from getting bad and make them disappear quickly. I only use it as a whole-face moisturizer if I have a serious breakout going on, and for super stubborn nightmare pimples I would use a stronger treatment (this lotion is only .5% salicylic acid). Overall for the purpose I use it for, I like it. I don't go through it quickly so one bottle lasts a while.

Sadly, this is my least favorite item in the True Porefection family. It is very light weight and it feels good on, but my oily skin it too much for it..it feels icky after awhile when I use it alone so under makeup it is disgusting...oh, and it didn't clear my skin...

I have combination, acne-prone skin and I love this moisturizer! The 0.5% salicylic acid helps to prevent breakouts and when I get the occasional pimple, it seems like this lotion helps to treat it. The only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 is the lack of SPF protection. If it had SPF it would be fantastic as a daytime moisturizer, as it does a great job preventing oiliness/shine. Oh well, it suits me just fine as a nighttime moisturizer. It's very light, but still moisturizes well, even after I've exfoliated with a scrub. The scent is also very light and fresh. Unfortunately, it looks like Avon may be discontinuing this product soon! In the last brochure I saw, they stated, "last time in brochure!" and they were selling 3 for $15 (Cdn). Needless to say, I'm stocking up!

I love this moisturizer. Almost all moisturizers out there make me feel oily after putting it on, but this totally does not. It also keeps my skin a lil less oilier during the day, which I LOVE. I only use this at night though, since I need the SPF in the morning. If they had SPF in this, I'd love it even more and it'd be the only moisturizer going on that face of mine. I so hope they do not discontinue this product, as they did with the True Pore-Fection mask. >_<
The only thing why I didn't give it a 5 was the packaging. It's so pretty and everything, EXCEPT that since I only use it once every 24 hours or so, the little bit at the end of the pump gets all dried up and that's just something that irks me to no end. Maybe if there was a little lid/cap the way Mary Kay's Microdermabrasion Serum does...

I have been using the true pore-fection cream cleanser for years and thought I would try this. This is an oil-free lotion with .5% salicylic acid, clay, silica and other herbal extracts to control oil. This is a very lightweight lotion and absorbs easily into the skin. I cannot tolerate the fresh scent ( makes me think of Vaseline bath beads- the green box) so cannot state how effective it works for controlling oil. Contains aluminum starch ((3rd ingredient) and parabens.

This is great for keeping skin fresher and less oily for longer than when I don't use it. The pump is convienient too.
Edit on 6.7.08- I just "found" this bottle again and started using it-now it is breaking me out.

This is a pretty good salicylic acid lotion. I prefer Proactiv lotion, but this works too. The Proactiv is more moisturizing, where this, as others have said, isn't very moisturizing, but it does keep the oil and shine down. It does what it says; it helps keep pores clear to reduce breakouts. It doesn't irritate my skin at all either.

I've been using this lotion for about 2 weeks and I absolutely love it! I'm usually shiny and oily about 2 minutes after I wash my face, but no more. This has managed to stem off the oiliness. Not sure if it's helped with acne (as I'm still getting little, tiny pimples), but I'll continue to use it for no other reason than it helps fight my shine.

Note - If you're planning to use this as a moisturizer, I can't say that it's done much to moisturize my skin. Just helps with the oil and shine.

First, I must mention that I used 3 products from the True Pore-Fection line. The the refining skin clearing lotion, gel cleanser and the mask. I used them diligently for a month and broke out. BADLY.
It did nothing to lessen breakouts and, in fact, made my skin worse. I am 35 and suffer from mild-moderate hormonal breakouts along the jaw and hairline. After using this 3.5 weeks, I had developed a very large, painful cyst on my cheek. I *never* break out on my cheeks so I surmised it must be from using these products. I have recently bought Paula's Choice and hope that it will clear up the mess that Pore-Fection has created.
I have given 1 lippie as I do not know for sure if it was the lotion, the mask or cleanser or a combination of all 3 that broke me out. Otherwise, I would rate it a big fat ZERO (you know, like the shape of the cyst it left me with...). The scent is off-putting as well. (a 'green' floral)

Unfortunately, it's not doing much for me. Minutes into applying the lotion onto my face, my skin starts to feel "taut" again. Initially I liked it because I thought it was keeping my skin somewhat matte but really it was just not enough moisture for my type of skin. Also didn't help with the blemishes either. I hate to be the dissenter here but I'm just not happy with it.

I love this product! My acne has dwindled since using this product and I don't have to use my expensive Rx acne topical medications ever since I started on the True Pore-Fection cleanser and lotion. Great product at a super affordable price.

This product, when used in tandem with the rest of the Pore-fection line, has dramatically improved my oily, uneven skin--the texture is much finer and the tone much more even. Brilliant!

If you have oily or combination skin, this is for you! I use it only at night and I wake up with clear pores and no oiliness. The packaging is perfect - a small pump dispenser. Fresh scent too.

Overall I like this product. I have combo skin, with occasional breakouts. This seems to keep them at bay, and it doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy.

Its not bad, i would recommend this over this same type of moisturizers: Lancome Pure Focus moisturizer ($34) which contains the same active ingredients Salicyclic Acid and Koalin, while Avon porefection moisturizes better and its only $9.50. I also like this better than Biore moisturizer, avon is less oiler on the face because it contains dimethicone, an common primer. I also like this better than Serious Skin care moisturizer, because avon is very moist and matte and doesnt burn when I put it on. This also contains grape seed extract also which may also help with keep the skin moist will salicyclic acid is resurfacing. I had to take a lippie off because perfume smell is strong. I would buy it again.

This product is OK, but it did nothing to help clear my pores. It didn't bother my skin at all, but I saw no change. I have very oily skin and this did not make it oilier.

I LOVE this product! I have been using this and the pore-fection toner for about 2 weeks now, and it has made a dramatic difference in my skin tone and overall complexion. I noticed after a week of using, my pores were unclogging themselves. Sounds gross, but the yucky stuff the pore produces was sticking out of the pore, long enough for me to just pluck it out with my tweezer.. eew. This line is amazing for me. If you check avon right now, the whole line is 50% off. I stocked up and placed my order yesterday ^^.

i can't really say this does anything for acne but it does controls oil while moisturizing. it's lightweight & i prefer it to biore shine control moisturizer. definitely recommended for oily skin.

I like this lotion. My face is very oily but this lotion is very light and will not add too much shine to my face. However it doesn't help to get rid of my acne though. I wish it has some SPF in it.

This lotion contains 0.5% BHA to fight acne and clay (kaolin) to control oil. The bottle is very small and sleek (2 oz pump bottle) and the pump dispenses the right amount of lotion for each area of my face. It goes on very thin and light, which makes it perfect for oily skin. I don't have much acne, but I do have clogged pores. This does not do anything noticeable to unclog my pores, but it doesn't worsen any either. I'll repurchase when they have a sale.
