This was a recommended to me as a less expensive alternative to my HG Hypnotic Poison by Dior. The bottle is quite lovely and modern but the fragrance did not remind me of Hypnotic Poison at all.
I got a lot of heavy soapy musk with some rose and a little vanilla. The musk was so overpowering it gave me a headache. It wasn't smooth and well blended like HP. My boyfriend didn't like this on me. I gave it to my mother, she was thrilled.

At first I really liked this fragrance. Now, I can only smell clean baby diapers/wipes. It's that soft, powdery, sweet baby type scent. It got on my nerves after a while & I had to give it away.

This was recommended by a Sales Assistant when i asked for a longer lasting, heavier scent for the Winter/Autumn. He was 100% spot on with his pick. It is lovely and have received a couple of compliments too.

I'm no good at describing the scents or notes, but it is more of an everyday perfume than an occasion one. It is kind of sweet, but lovely. Worth a try.

Love the packaging & bottle. Very unusual.

I received a sample of this from Sephora a few years ago. I immediately got the full sized. I think this fragrance reads well during the fall and winter months but might be too overpowering for summer. I find that I get tired of wearing this if I wear it too many days in a row. The plus side is I get lots of compliments on it when I wear it. It is not my favorite but I will finish the rest in the bottle. Will not repurchase when it is finished.

Oh, this is so good. I absolutely love this warm, cozy scent for fall. It has terrific lasting power and my mom who normally hates all the fragrances I wear yelled from the bathroom the morning after I got it in the mail, in a very urgent tone, "WHAT DID YOU SPRAY THAT SMELLS LIKE HEAVEN.?!" She always asks to borrow it if I'm doing her hair/makeup before she goes out. However, it's not for everyone, including my boyfriend, who hates it :( which is why I won't repurchase... except perhaps the small $25 vial that looks like a rollerball.. because this is just such a comforting fragrance. It is vanilla-ey, but not in a foody or candy way. It's a mature and different warm scent - I get vanilla, sandalwood, an unusual milky rice note and spice, and it just makes me want to make a hot chocolate and relax by a crackling fire.

This perfume brings back really wonderful memories. My bottle is empty but I still have a very small sized one that was supposed to be a sample. I love the smell and it just puts me in a good mood. I can't really pinpoint the exact scents found in this perfume, but based on other reviews it contains vanilla and rice scents; I can actually smell those.
I would recommend getting this, it smells lovely.

One of my favourite perfumes. On me this is all vanilla and rice, not a super sweet vanilla but a more tempered one. It's a very warm, comforting fragrance, and makes me feel happy whenever I smell it. As a vanilla lover, I absolutely adore this.

I like this nearly as much as Kenzo Flower, but not quite as much. It's similar in being a soft powdery floral oriental with great sillage, but this one becomes cloying for me sometimes. It is sweeter with the vanilla, whereas Flower has a little dose of pepper which calms the sweetness. With both it is very easy to over do so just one or two sprays is more than enough. As an alternative I really like the shower gel which is exactly like the perfume but doesn't last. The body lotion also is very good, long-lasting, and more of a skin scent.

LOVE this - it's warm, woody, sensual, sexy - can't say enough good things about this scent..funny thing, I put it on for work one morning, went to the gym that evening, started sweating and it made me smell delicious while I was working out lmao...between this and Kenzo's "Flower", I'm all set

It's one of my most favorite perfumes, not overpowering and just right. Love the bottle designs too and I kept them once finished and line them up like a trophy. Will always buy again and again..

This scent is so soothing... I smell a so natural vanilla, no gourmand, mixed with rice and fangipani, feels like a hug. It is a perfume, in my opinion, that smell doesn't offend the others around. You will never displease using it. Goes well both morning and night and in different climates, here in Brazil it evolves incredibly on hot days, but I think it could be so much better if used in the fall / winter.
The staying power is around 6 hours, which is good, but I think it could be much better for a Kenzo.
I do not think so much like hypnotic poison, but it resembles in some notes, they follow the same path of evolution, I think the hypnotic poison more refined. But perhaps it could be a substitute.

Love this
Had a sample vial given to me and I was really biased towards kenZo products cause i hate flower, it smells really powdery and gave me massive headaches. So I put amour by the side and on a recent vacation, revisited the scent and I would say, golly' what a surprise.

The initial scent can be a little overwhelming then it dries down to a just right powder base that is not too overwhelming, will repurchase when I finish my other bottles of perfume. Right now there is just too many sitting on the rack.

If you love vanilla, this is the fragrance for you. Some vanilla fragrances are sweet like candy, but this vanilla is more mature and soft like a chenille blanket. Vanilia by L'Artisan Parfumeur is also a good vanilla fragrance, but it is much sweeter and candy-like. It depends on personal taste, but I prefer Kenzo Amour. It's perfect for the fall and winter seasons. On a cold morning, when I spray Amour on, I feel like I'm adding another layer of warmth before stepping outside. Also, this fragrance lasts, but stays close to the skin in a more intimate way.

This is a beautiful gourmand almond and vanilla fragrance, very comforting, with good sillage. It's not right for me so I only used it a few times before passing it onto a friend who loves it. My only gripe is the bottle which is beautiful but impractical. It's difficult to hold and the long curved top makes the bottle look as if it holds more than it actually does. Form should never overtake function. If it's beautiful but impractical then its beauty is lost on me.

LOVE!! My go-to fall/winter scent. The scent is pretty linear with no distinguishable top/middle/base (other than that the top is a tad more floral than the rest), but this guileless simplicity is exactly what makes this fragrance so charming.
The prominent notes of Kenzo Amour include vanilla, frangipani, rice steam, musk and wood, but as mentioned, they present themselves together as a seamless blend rather than a sequence. The description "rice steam" really is dead on. The scent has a rather elusive "steamy" quality to it that I find really comforting.
Even the EDT I have has surprisingly good longevity and silliage and I love the way it lingers on scarves days after I've sprayed it on.
The only con I can think of is that the bottle, while gorgeously sculptured, is completely opaque - I can't tell when I'll run out so that I can get a replacement bottle!

To me, this perfume smells really strongly of sunscreen. It opens with sunscreen and rice pudding, but was quickly sunscreen and a screechy synthetic woody base. Too bad.

I love this fragrance. I have been looking for a nice evening fragrance for so long but wasn't thrilled with anything I tested or if I did like it, it seemed to have zero lasting power. This fragrance is gorgeous. It is a spicy vanilla. It is perfect for evenings. I wouldn't wear it during the day because I think it is too strong for daytime. However, for nights, it lasts forever. I wore it last night and could still smell it this morning. It is beautiful, but not overpowering. I'm so happy I found this one.

If Dior Addict and Hypnotic Poison got married and had a love child together, it's name would be Kenzo Amour! It's not as loud as Dior Addict and not as "cream cheese/ sour milky" as Hypnotic Poison which is great for me because those are the parts of each fragrance that I dislike! I think I found a keeper! :-)
Edit- 8/1/11: I am sad to say that the dry down *does* go to Hypnotic Poison on me. It doesn't smell bad, but sadly, milky almond fragrances don't seem to work well on my chemistry. Bumping down a lippie. :-(
