I like this conditioner, it doesn't really add any volume but I really like the scent! I use with the matching shampoo almost daily. I usually have really frizzy hair but this seem to tame it down a bit! I still need a hair treatment to fully fight frizz.

I was using the Dove Volume Boost line until it got d/c'ed. Tried this as a replacement. I need light conditioning w/ a bit of smoothing for frizz on my very thick but fine, straight hair. This left my hair very soft and smelling pretty, but left a build-up. I could not use this daily. It is too heavy and a just a teeny bit film-leaving. (this is the same problem I have with pantene products) It's not the worst offender, but not the best either. I wouldn't buy it again, Back to my search.

I HATE THIS.
Sorry, had to just say it.
I saw it in the store, I was on a tight budget, it smelt amazing!
I regret it :(

Pros: Good smell.
Volumizes.

CONS:
The smell goes away.
It STRIPS your hair.
I have to use so much of it.
It makes it staticy like CRAZY!!
It makes my hair so dry:(
But I guess it never said it nourishes or moisturizes :|

How dare Herbal Essences even put this on the shelves.

DO NOT buy this!

Oh yes you will be envied for the lovely soft waxy coating on your hair and the fruity scent wafting from your head but that will be all you will be envied for. After two uses, people will marvel at how often you scratch your head and and flick the waxy coating from under your nails. Yuck. And you will be astounded at how much bodifying money you saved on but on how much clarifying shampoo you now need.

(Does calm the straw the shampoo causes.)

Herbal Essences Body Envy Shampoo&Conditioner are two of five products from this volumizing hair care line. Much like None of Your Frizzness, this hair care line is inspired by traditional Asian beauty practices. The formula is "a fusion of passionflower sunrise and pearl. Asian women have used pearl powder to give their complexion a lift for centuries, but why should your skin have all the fun?" Herbal Essences also states that Body Envy will will "give your hair volume to keep things looking up with deep cleaning to remove buildup, while the lightweight conditioner helps to protect from damage without weighing you down". I purchased both products at Target for a combined cost of $5.28. Herbal Essences claims that they do not test on animals, but I've heard otherwise, so please check with a trusted source before purchasing. Herbal Essences is a widely available brand. They make their products in the USA from domestic and imported ingredients.
Body Envy's packaging is the same kind of recyclable, wavy plastic bottles with green pop up dispensers. The shampoo bottle is made of translucent pink plastic and stands upright. The conditioner bottle stands top down and is a bright, opaque orange. The shampoo bottle appears orange because of the color of the product. The background on the bottles features grey dots and silver swirls. The front of each bottle features the tagline "Lighten up, it's just a little volume." The back of each bottle features a full ingredient list, as well as some fun facts and other little goodies. I like the look of the bottles, but they're not the most convenient when it comes to function. While the dispensers don't gum up or clog, it's kinda hard to squeeze the conditioner out. Other than that I can't really complain.
Herbal Essences claims that the scent of Body Envy will "take your shower straight to paradise with our unforgettable tropical fragrance. Exotic mango and sun ripened peach give your hair a from the islands scent. Soft sandalwood completes our beachy blend. Now you're ready to make some waves!". Wow Herbal Essences! No violet! That's a first! But of course, if there's not violet, there there must be sandalwood. That's Herbal Essences logic. I wouldn't say that this scent makes me smell like I'm from an island or paradise or whatever, but Body Envy does smells pretty good. Mango&Peach sum up the scent perfectly. It's a fruity, warm, summery, tropical scent that lingers in the hair for several hours. It's nice but not quite as fantastic as some of Herbal Essences other scents.
Body Envy shampoo is a bright yellow gel with a medium thickness. I love Herbal Essences gel shampoos. They lather super well and you only need the smallest amount to wash your hair. Because of how bubbly this shampoo can get, you need to put in a little bit more effort for rinsing, but its not difficult to get out or anything.
The conditioner is is a light yellow with a slight green tinge. Though Herbal Essences calls it a lightweight conditioner, it's the same texture as all of their conditioners. A little bit on the thicker side, it doesn't spread through the hair super well, so you need to use more of it than I'd prefer.
So does this shampoo give you so much body and volume that it'll make other people jelly? Eh, kinda. My hair has a moderate amount of natural volume, so this doesn't give me a ton of extra body. You'll likely get the best results if you have thin, fine, flat hair. Though I don't get mad volume from this shampoo/conditioner, I think it has the potential to provide impressive results. It makes my bangs stand up almost straight, which is bad for me, but promising for the product. Body Envy also keeps my hair clean for 2 to 3 days. Actually I feel like it kinda dries my hair out a little. Perhaps since it's supposed to be deep cleaning?
Body Envy's conditioner doesn't really do anything unfortunately. It doesn't really detangle or moisturize like a conditioner should, but to be fair it doesn't weigh your hair down as promised.
I like Herbal Essence's Body Envy shampoo and conditioner, but I don't love it. My already voluminous hair doesn't really get more body from it except in the bangs, where it gets too much body and kinda looks crazy, but hey, that's what Body Envy hairspray is for, right? I won't repurchase Body Envy. Its slightly drying and doesn't give me super great results. It doesn't even smell ultra fantastic. If you have naturally limp hair, Body Envy might be a great choice for you from the Herbal Essences range, but if you have thicker hair, you might want to skip over this line. Except the hairspray. That shit is great.

I have straight, shoulder length, fine hair and it doesn't take much to leave it flat and greasy. After trying many volumizing shampoo and conditioners body envy shampoo and conditioner is the only one so far that works. I find with using body envy is I do have more lift, and my hair is soft, healthy and has a beautiful shine. Absolutely no left over residue.
Update: I have found Finesse Self Adjusting Extra Body way better. My hair has body, bounce and shine.

I'll say the same thing I did about the shampoo, i'd give it a 0 if I could. Again, I tried this back before I was commited to products that were better for me & the environment. The shampoo wrecked my hair (see review) and the conditioner finished it off. Icing on the cake I guess you'd say. This weighed my hair down & left such a film I don't know how they say it can give you "body". It's pretty much the worst conditioner I've tried. As I said about the shampoo also, it may work for some, but don't waste your money, even if it is just a couple of bucks.

My hair definitely likes this product (and the shampoo) but if you need deep conditioning this isn’t the product for you. It is a very light conditioner, just enough to keep hair manageable and tangle free. I use this in conjunction with a light leave-in protein reconstructor so I can’t speak to its conditioning qualities, but my hair does have lots of body from this shampoo and conditioner and I think I would buy it again.

I loved this particular product. It actually volumized, and for being the least moisturizing out of all of the products, it worked the best for me! It smelled amazing and on my curly hair, it didn't wreck havoc. I used a LOT though, so I really piled it on.

I still love this stuff, and I'll buy more of it. I haven't bought Herbal Essences for so long. They're more hair perfume than real performance, and now, as I'm trying to grow my chopped off locks back to Rapunzel status, nourishment is what I really need.

Maybe when it grow more, I'll trust this stuff.

as for all herbal essences product, i congragulate yet another marvelous smell that i love. my friends have strong noses and they say that they love herbal essences smells. this product smoothed and gave me pretty hair, but not so much volume. i wasn't striving for volume, but if its specially formulated, it should work. the bottle that i got was really big, but it was sometimes hard to get the conditioner out.

So I ran out of my usual conditioner (was previously using the Pantene brunette expressions conditioner) so I had this one lying around (came in a double pack from Costco with a giant bottle of the matching shampoo). I like the shampoo just fine but this conditioner is awful and not at all what my hair needs or is used to. As other reviewers have said, it is VERY drying and hardly conditions at all, so detangling my fine hair was even more difficult than usual. I could tell even in the shower that this conditioner wouldn't leave my hair feeling soft and smooth and I wasn't surprised to see when I blow dried my hair that it looked dull and lifeless. Needless to say, I will not be re-buying this conditioner and I've already gone out and replaced it with my usual conditioner. I don't recommend this at all.

I bought this because my previous conditioner (Dove GoFresh) wasn't quite cutting it. I adore the smell, it smells like Gummi Bears. :-) Anyway, I put this on in the shower and left it in while shaving (for about two minutes) and rinsed it out. I didn't change anything in my hair routine except this. I got out, toweled off my hair, and blow-dried it. The difference was enormous (pun alert)!!!!! Usually, after following my regular routine, I end up with just... hair. But this is the only thing I changed today, and I ended up with HAAAAIIIIIIRRRRRR. Which is weird, considering most of the reviews for this product say that they didn't get much volume out of this conditioner. Maybe they aren't leaving it in long enough...? All I know is it certainly made a difference for me!! ;-)

So, maybe I've spoiled myself for so many years with salon products, but this garbage quickly made me realize why I do. The conditioner does not have a good texture, the sickly-sweet stench of it followed me around all day and I had to down some Advil to rid myself of the headache that it caused...and it really doesn't live up to the claims it gives on the label. I gave this and the shampoo to my grandmother since she'll use anything and quickly headed to the salon and bought myself some Big Sexy Hair...economic downturn or not, I NEED to have good hair to be happy.

not sure how well it volumizes, but it does a really good job of conditioning my hair. i recently dyed and permed and then repermed my hair all within 2 weeks, so my hair have been super dry and blahed. i've tried some high end products (keratase) and hair masks that seemed to have helped a bit, but i would still have to flat iron my hair after it dries otherwise the ends would be all crazy. but last night i used this conditioner without any other treatments, let my hair air dry, and it's now super soft and smooth. no frizzies at the damaged ends, no irons required! who knew you could get that with a drugstore brand? highly recommend.

Had to change my review - used 2 days in a row, this conditioner leaves my hair ridiculously flat, stringy, and blah. (Which is a real challenge to do for my thick and already voluminous, sometimes frizzy, layered hair!) It definitely does *not* add volume in any way, shape or form! I'd purchase again because of the scent, but it's a bit thin and runny. Meh. Please don't buy this if you're looking for volume at all - or nice hair - it will be a waste of money.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff. Smells so amazing. I love how they sell the huge sized ones at Costco. Will definitely be repurchasing. Doesn't really "volumize" my hair, but then again, I have pin straight black asian hair, so I didn't really expect it to do much, and it didn't but if you really are looking for something "volumizing" this probably isn't for you.
