One of the few times I've been "led astray" by MUA reviews. This gloss is just awful, no way around it. The pigment slides around on my lips and looks uneven before disappearing a couple of minutes later, leaving nothing but big red/green iridescent gold glitter. (I find it really hard to believe it's real gold.) The texture is way too thin. The glitter is gritty and annoying. It smells like pencil shavings and has a bitter taste. The packaging is the closest thing to a good - it looks very pretty in its tube, and I like the short, soft brush, which picks up lots of gloss, but it doesn't mean much since the product isn't worth applying. Never again!

This is a beautiful gloss. Plummy, burgundy gloss w/ delicious gold sparkles. It is a touch too dark for me but my mother who is about NC42 loved this. great for a night out.

I really like this gloss. It's the perfect gloss for the days when i don't want to do any eye makeup but still want to look polished and bright (i.e. I wear them everyday in the fall/winter while at work). I think it's a very versatile colour which can be worn at work and when at a party for that added drama. I simply love it (just as I love the #2 and #3 in the Golden Gloss selection). EDIT (Sept 2008): Too sparkly for me and too expensive. Not worth it as it makes me look like a teenager.

Great lipgloss especially for evening look. Works wonderfully and very beautiful packaging. I took 1 point out as I find the price is a bit much.

This is just not a good color for me. I thought that it would be more plum (hence the name), but on my lips this turns VERY RED. It is just not attractive at all. Not a fan. Swap list here this comes...

I just repurchased this. For the first time in my life, I have actually REpurchased a product. The bad news is that the salesperson told me that YSL is discontinuing this product.
How can they? I bought the only 2 left they had at Neimanns.

This color strikes me as more of a very wearable, sheer red than a plum. I absolutely love it. It was my first Golden Gloss, but I bought another shade soon after this one. They're expensive, but SO beautiful.

Awesome! that's what i have to say about this lipgloss. I am not much of a lipgloss person but when i tried this one on, WOW! it was soooo beautiful and just the right amount of shine. It smelled really nice too. like mango or something fruity. Price is a bit expensive but worth it!

This is my first golden gloss and I have no idea how I won't go broke buying up the rest of them. When I first got it in the mail I was shocked at how scary dark it looked and, good Lord, the gold glitter. But somehow, it turned the most beautiful shade of pinky plum on me. This is a great my lips but darker color on me. And the sparkles just looked like shimmer on. No chunks of glitter. It always amazes me how a product can look so different in the tube then on your lips. I normally prefer a sponge tip b/c brushes seem to mush it all over my face but this brush is WAAAAY different. It is firm and short. Love it and love this gloss. It's thick and stayed on as long as MAC or Chanel. Now, to try to not buy all the others.

I was at the YSL counter last weekend at Saks, and, since I am always tempted by lipglosses, I decided to try this one and a new one for Spring (#10, I think). As other reviewers have described, #6 is a gorgeous plummy-red with gold shimmers/particles. It looks really gorgeous on the lips, and makes them look fuller and just really pretty. The color is dark enough for drama (I usually wear nude-ish lips), but still looks good for the daytime.

My favorite aspects of this gloss are the brush applicator - which does not splay like the Bobbi Brown ones do! - and the lovely/delicious mango scent! It's also quite long-lasting, and the effect is not as thick or plastic-y as MAC Lipglass. It's just a really pretty, shiny, multi-dimensional effect. It also does not get that weird white ring that many lipglosses do after you wear them for a few hours.

Having said that, I did take off one lippie for the exorbitant price ($27 USD!). That is a lot to pay for a lipgloss! But, aside from that, I would buy this again if I run out, and I do look forward to trying some of the other colors!

When I first saw these glosses I thought they were way too shimmery, even for someone like me who loves a sparkly lip gloss. The gold particles are actually much more subtle on the lips than they look in the tube. They catch the light perfectly and make my somewhat thin lips look fuller. This color is a gorgeous berry plum, not too dark or too sheer so it would look great on pretty much any skin tone. The texture is nice too - normally I prefer sticky glosses like MAC lip glasses because they tend to last longer, but this is smooth and lasts pretty well. I must get more of these!

Until this, I NEVER wore anything on my lips. Everything either seems sticky, or makes mt lips even more uneven (I have a VERY full lower lip, but my upper one fades to nothing on the sides). My mom bought this and gave it to me. Its WAY expensive, but the mango scent is nice, though not too overpowering. The colors are great (I also have #3). They don't look to formal unless you wear a lot of eye make up too.
I like the gold particles. They are a little gritty when first applied if you rub your lips together a lot, but I think thats because they clump together in the tube. The glitter may look odd up close, but from a few feet away, all they do is enhance the shine.
The only think I would like to change would be to add a small mirror into the side (the gold top isn't a precise enough reflection) so I don't need a mirror to reapply. Oh, and its really pricey--I'd buy again, but only because I didnt buy the first one.

WOW I love this gloss! The texture is amazing-- not gritty like i expected it to be. The color is less of a plum, more of a reddish berry on me (GGG). It will definitely be a staple for fall! I get so many compliments when I wear it-- people I don't even know ask me what kind of lipgloss I have on! Very pretty especially in a dimly lit setting, kind of the effect of moonlight on sand but gold of course. I love the applicator, though since I usually wear it over a lipliner, I use a lipbrush to apply it because I don't want to change the color of the gloss! Overall, IMO, this is the perfect gloss if you want to sparkle! I'm hoping they will come out with a deeper plum soon- maybe a blue-based one. Maybe a brown one too. I have already purchased #1 gold and #3 pink; I will definitely purchase this again when I run out! this picture shows the gloss over Clinique mulberry lipliner

LOVELY color, first off! It honestly looks like it has crushed diamond dust swirled into the gloss mixture. But alas, I guess it's the supposed gold dust that's the star ingredient of this gloss that's responsible for the uber-shimmer. The gloss is not sticky or tacky like so many other glosses out in the market, and has a very light, pleasant melon scent with no discernable taste. The gloss has a nice slip to the texture and is just super, duper shiny and well, glossy! It gives your lips a more plumped effect overall, but perhaps that's just due to the light-reflecting particles in the gloss. I went to Bloomies to see what colors were available and 1 & 2 were sold out (as expected) and this was the newest addition to the Golden Gloss line, so I snapped it up. I'm a PPP and this is the perfect night-time gloss for me: a rich, shining plum that shimmers in the light! I'll definitely be grabbing more of these as I see them!
