Rouge Allure is a very high quality lipstick.
First of all there's the casing: a beautiful sleak metal case, Chanel signature and the gorgeous gold-black coloring. It's a fashion accessory. I particullary like the way of opening, not your ordinary drugstore lipstick. You have to press on the golden logo, it will pop up and then you can take the golden tube out of the black signature casing. Love it!
Quality: The lipstick comes on very smooth. The color is intense, but not at all too much. It gives a very comfortable feeling. When you don't bite a tissue after applying, it will stay a bit shiny. When you do bite a tissue it will leave the lipstick matte, velvety. It all depends on what kind of mood you're in.
Scent: It smells like a lipstick, I do not spot any kind of special perfume in it.
Durability: Unlike other lipsticks, the Rouge Allure stays on very well. Even after lunch and well into the afternoon, it stays! Of course not as intense as when you first applied it. You can still spot a nice color hint after hours of wearing. Amazing.
Conclusion: The Rouge Allure is a very durable, high quality make up product. It gives your make-up bag a chic high fashion look. You feel confident while wearing it and although it is quite expensive, it gives you what you are looking for in a quality lipstick.

I luv all my Allures; spot on creamy, glides to lips, easy to apply straight from tube if in a hurry. Longlasting enough even w/o sealer that I almost always use with lipsticks w/o sealing top coat. Romantic is the one I reach for most. Beautiful medium warm rose on my cool pinkish pigmented lips. Totally day-time wearable and reliable.
Imo this is must for fair/ cool / neutrals with dark brown hair and -eyes like Comedia and Adorable. Confidentielle and Ingognito are my " nudes ". I look washed out easy. Coquette is close to Nars Niagara and Flamboyante to Mac Cyndi. Flamboyante is also good wearable 1st " red " because its red strawberry with pink tones. Only bad is that many are LE or dc`d. So many gorgeous colours ! Chanel rocks in lipsticks and blushes !

This is my favorite everyday lipstick. It looks great with my fair skin -- gives a nice rosy color that brightens up my face, but isn't too bright for daytime. It goes well with "tulip" lip liner. It stays where I put it -- doesn't smear or creep out beyond my lip line, and it lasts a long time. I know it's not cheap, but since it performs so well it's worth it.

This is my HG lipstick. It's a warm raspberry pink that goes with everything, day and night. I really agree with the reviewer below me who said that it is great for daytime wear because it is a few shades deeper than a natural lip color but that it's great for nighttime too because it has a very nice brightness/intensity. It's a great all-round lipstick and it's a pretty unique color. Everytime I apply it I realize how fantastic this color is. I've been wearing it daily for nearly a year and it still doesn't bore me.
The lipstick itself is very pigmented and opaque. During the day I use a lighter hand, sometimes applying a lipbalm underneath. For nighttime I just apply more, sometimes with a lipliner underneath. Both ways it looks great. Because it's so pigmented you only need to apply a little.
I also like that it is a creamy lipstick and it doesn't have any shimmers.
It doesn't have a noticable smell. I guess when I smell very closely it smells a bit like roses, but I never noticed this before I just tried it.
The staying power is great. I do have to touch up during the day but it is never really gone. Even if I don't touch up there will always be a stain left of this and even faded the color still looks amazing.
Because I practically always wear this lipstick I have a lot of pictures of me wearing it, here's a few in a collage so you can see it in different lightning (and in better quality than the one I uploaded onto MUA):

Sorry there are none of me with my mouth closed, I like smiling.
The packaging is hands down the prettiest I've ever seen. I usually do not want to be seen applying make-up in public, but with this I don't mind. It makes me feel chique instead of vain. I guess that's the power of the Chanel brand. Also, I've been carrying mine with me for nearly a year and the packaging still looks neat.
I'm not someone who only buys high end products and I don't like spending more money when I can get something similar for less, but I do appreciate true quality and I'm willing to spend more for it. This is definitely something I would repurchase in a heartbeat, regardless of the price. I've looked for dupes or colors that are similar and I haven't found anything that compares. Most berry like colors are too cool and/or not as intense.
I am so thankful for the lovely SA who recommended this. I probably wouldn't have tried it on myself. The SA had olive skin and black hair and it looked great on her too.
I have already bought a back-up (it's number 28 btw).
Update: over a year later this is still my absolute favourite lipstick. I will cry if they ever discontinue it.

I was looking for an all purpose shade and I found it with Romantic. It pretty much goes with everthing and can be used day and night. I'll be repurchasing when it runs out.

The lipstick itself is creamy and non-drying.

This lipstick is my favorite one that I find myself going to all the time. I am a product junkie and have many things but find myself wearing this the most. The color is one of the best around - it's great for a casual look because it is like your natural lip color a few shades deeper yet there is a brightness to the color that makes it great for nighttime wear too! It's a great day to night color therefore, the perfect one to carry with you at all times. The formula is just right, creamy enough to make you comfortable without a gloss or balm on top yet the color stays put for a very long time. It's not one of those 'long lasting' lipcolor products but because of the quality pigment, you'll find that you won't have to reapply for a while. Love the packaging (it can get addictive) and it's metal case gives a luxurious feel from the start!

Romantic looks raspberry pink on me and it compliments my skin tone nicely. It's very creamy, long lasting, and glides on beautifully. It has a good deal of pigment so you don't have to use as much and I love how it makes my blue eyes pop. I have to say It's probably the prettiest lipstick I own. I am only giving it 4 stars because it is a little drying on me...but it's worth it!

This rose red, a couple of shades deeper than my natural lip, is one of my favorite Rouge Allure shades. Depending on what lipliner I use, it can be very bold or very subtle; I easily take this from day to night. The texture of it is amazing - it's very soft, very light, yet very pigmented. It glides on so effortlessly, and lips feel moisturized all day long. I love wearing a Glossimer over this - either Maline or Glow - for a bit of shine and shimmer. Aptly named, too.

Lovely pink-red, shade, a fuchsia almost, but with red added in. I have very fair skin and it's extremely easy to overdo it with this, you definitely need a mirror when you reapply. The texture is so incredibly creamy which is also a factor in why its so easy to over do. It really brings out my blue/green eyes and compliments my skin-tone. Will definitely repurchase.

I was looking for a replacement lipstick in a similar shade to an old Smashbox lippy when i came across this.
I wanted something that wasn't too "in ya face". Meaning something that gave colour to my lips but didn't stand out as being too made up. This ticked all of my boxes.
The texture is the best i've ever worn. It feels so light on the skin and the colour appears at full pelt with just one sweep. With most other lippies you need to swipe it across a few times to give an even coverage straight from the stick but not this one. It almost feels matt gel like in texture and it lasted longer than any other lipsticks i have. Maybe because of the unique texture.
The colour is a shade darker than my natural lip colour.
The best way i can discrib it is as if you've scrubbed your lips with a very hard bristled tooth brush. It's rosey pinky/red, but not unnatural at all.
The only minus is that it's rather pricey. But i stock up whenever i have enough Boots Advantage Card points :-)

*** UPDATE: Unfortunately the colour looks too harsh on my skintone. It looks almost berry on me, not the medium-pink I was looking for. NARS Gipsy is actually much softer and more wearable on me. Still looking for "that" pink, then... *** This was a little luxury beauty buy I indulged in recently. I wanted a pink-toned lipstick, I wanted to try the new Chanel, and based on reviews I thought it might work, so I tried it at the counter. I asked the SA to apply some on me, and she make a complete mess of it - seriously, so uneven! She didn't seem to notice. Anyway, despite that I thought the colour was nice. I have light yellow-toned skin (with some pink in the cheeks), green eyes and dark chocolate-brown hair. It brings out the green in my eyes nicely, though not as well as a redder colour like NARS Gipsy. Romantic is very pigmented and opaque, so it can go on a little too intense. I tend to sheer it out slightly and top with balm or a touch of gloss. Unfortunately, my lips seem to dry out at the merest hint of lipstick, and this formula is no exception. I wonder if I'll ever find a lipstick that doesn't dry my lips out!

I echo all the positive/HG comments for this lipstick. This is exactly what I originally thought Prodigous or Emotion RA would be based on the colour of the tester cap, but I know better with RA not to trust the colour of the tester cap :-) After a couple of misses in terms of finding the righr red-rose colour, I finally decided to put my assumptions aside about what colour looks like the right one based on the tester caps and I dedicated 1 hour one day to test ALL RA colours at the makeup counter at The Bay (don't ask me about the state of my lips afterwards, but it was a worthy effort!). This way, I actually ended up buying 2 and selecting another 3 or 4 potentials for future purchase - colours I would've never picked just by looking at the swatches online or tester caps, or even lipstick itself just by the stick colour! Well, Romantic is one of them. I am light with yellow undertones (Parure 02 from Guerlain), I have dark brown eyes and blond (coloured) hair and I this is just perfect for mu colouring. Since I went lighter with my hair colour recently, and I don't wear a lot of eye makeup (just mascara), I wanted something to "pump up" the colour in my face (I do use a brozner as well), and make me look fresh, polished, but natural. On top of this, I love wearing red nail polish and needed a red-based rose colour and Romantic fits the bill.
I have noticed that the nicest result I get from this lipstick is when I apply it in full and press lips once into a tissue. This is my preferred method for most lipsticks just because they seem to last longer on my lips this wasy, too. Romantic actually turns into a slightly more subtle colour this way, perfect for the day wear. Definitely HG!

After reading the reviews, I rushed out and bought this lipstick.

I am very pale with yellow undertones and dark brown hair.

I find this lipstick too bright. It is very pigmented and if I put too much on, it looks a bit harsh on my skin, as it is quite a deep red-pink. It is not sheer, but very opaque in its texture.
For me, it works better with some lighter gloss over it to take off the edge of its brightness, or just applied with fingers, like a stain. I don't really find it that sophisticated due to its brightness and quite solid, rich pink colour, but perhaps it is how it works with my colouring.

The lipstick opening mechanism is a novelty (you push the bottom of the lipstick and it clicks out of the casing.). Interesting, but not something I would buy it again for,) I am giving it 4 stars because it has a lovely texture, it is very smooth and feels luxurious. It costs £19+ in Boots (UK).

Holy Grail alert! I have searched high and low for a beautiful pink lipstick and this is it. Like other reviewers I have pale skin and dark hair and this suits my complexion beautifully. I am so happy with it I may have to buy a back up to keep in my purse at all times and the other at my vanity. It provides just enough impact but still looks sophisticated and put together without trying too hard. It is a very wearable color and I'm so glad I found it. Excellent packaging as well.

The Rouge Allure lipsticks are so addictive! I've never used such amazing, rich, hydrating lipsticks before. I'm becoming so spoilt :)

On me, Romantic is the prettiest pink, pigmented and quite shiny. It looks great all by itself, or with Galactic Glossimer on top for shine. Totally gorgeous, and I would definitely repurchase. Rouge Allure is fabulous, and I'm getting more colours the next time I go shopping.

I've finally found my go-to, never fail, every day HG lipstick! I'm very pale (Alima W1), cool-toned (although I wear warm foundation to match my neck) and have dark hair, so finding lipsticks that work with my colouring is very difficult. I've been looking for at least 3 years and my search is finally over! This shade may look dark in the tube, but it's the prettiest shade of YLBB healthy pink! I put the smallest amount on my lips and smudge it with my finger and it creates such a nice look! I wear it with MAC strada blush, Alima satin matte foundation and mascara for a perfect look that's put together but still natural. When I first put this on my boyfriend literally gasped and couldn't stop commenting on how nice it looked. That was all the convincing I needed:) Since I bought it 2 weeks ago I've worn it every day and will be buying a backup. This is a beautiful shade and in my opinion is a must-have for pale, cool-toned, dark haired ladies.

I treated myself to this in Paris. Although I'm fair, I have lots of problems finding pink lipsticks which work for me. Most turn whitish, making my teeth look yellow, or have too much blue or orange in them. This shade is a rosy pink on me, and is gorgeous for everyday. When I need some sparkle, I put a bit of glittery gloss over it, and that's it.
