At first I loved this shampoo, but after a few weeks of use I've noticed that it dries out my straight, fine hair with daily use. It does not lather as much as my Matrix Biolage Color Care shampoo. However, it has a light pleasing fragrance and is an inexpensive shampoo option. My local TJ's usually carries this in stock so it is not hard to find.

I would not purchase this again. The matching conditioner actually works quite well and I will continue to purchase that.

I'm a simple girl. I like one HG product and stick with it if it's working well for me. Unfortunately, every shampoo and conditioner I find has either been discontinued or stops working for me.

Add my hormones and meds to the mix, and basically my hair care has driven me nuts for the last 20 years. I had to completely scrap any cones and sulfates. So I had to find a natural-type shampoo. Shikai Everyday is a good one, but after a while...meh.

I tried making my own(holy crap what a mess), using shampoo bars, using water only, conditioner only...

(A side note: If you have hard water, DO NOT DO WATER ONLY hair care-it WILL be a magnificent, sticky failure)

One day in TJ's a month ago, I smelled the Spa Shampoo. Both my husband and I loved the smell(citrus-y and fresh), and tried it and the conditioner. Hubby never uses any conditioner, and wasn't thrilled with it and is sticking with Shikai. I on the other hand LOVE both of these, and will continue using them. I even use the shampoo as a body wash. I usually avoid them because they DRY OUT my already dry Socal, mature skin. And it makes my hair so soft, and SHINY. All of my silvers shine like crazy. I've only used the conditioner twice-the shampoo is usually enough for me. And the longer I use it, the better my hair is getting, so I might not need the conditioner at all.

SO glad I tried this. And I love when I'm either skeptical or indifferent about a product and it surprises me. If you have a TJ's near you pick them up-the price is right!

I love shopping at Trader Joe's and usually love all of their products, so I was sad to find out that this great priced shampoo dried out my color treated hair. I immediately stopped using it and switched back to my other brands that works well for me, and my hair returned to being less tangled and more manageable.

This is my favorite product for washing my makeup brushes! I wash my personal brush every month using this shampoo. If my skin is being ultra oily, then my powder and blush brushes get a wash more often as needed.

Pros:
It doesn't leave any residue on your brushes that could irritate or cause breakouts on my sensitive, yet oily skin. Also, doesn't leave any residue on the brush hairs that could prevent proper makeup application. The fragrance is light, non-offensive and disappears once the brush is dry.
Much cheaper than the more expensive brush shampoos, but works better.

Direction:
Add a quarter size amount of the shampoo to a cup of lukewarm water and swirl your brush around in the water for a few seconds. Don't submerge the ferrule of your brush (metal part) into the water/shampoo mix, which can loosen the glue of the brush.
Rinse out your brushes with lukewarm water, squeeze out the excess water, and make sure they are smoothed out into their original form. Lay your brushes on a towel flat to dry overnight.

This is a great natural shampoo, especially for the price. Although I am kind of skeptical since there are two paraben ingredients listed at the end. That is the only thing keeping me from purchasing it again. Otherwise it smells great, lathers well and cleans my dirty hair. I do always pair it with a natural conditioner, so as far as I know it isn't drying to me. I only wash my hair 3 times a week, so maybe it would be if it is used daily.

This is a GREAT shampoo. And I can't believe it's so cheap! It preserves my color, smells really good (kind of clean and floral and slightly fruity, but fresh) and leaves my hair so clean and unbelievably shiny. And my hair has gotten healthier and even a little wavier/curlier since I started using this, I have no idea why or how. But I've been through three bottles of this so far and will never switch. I'm usually a beauty product magpie but I don't even have any temptation to try another shampoo.

I've tried plenty of shampoos and conditions from the low end to high end range and this stuff amazed me! I use both the Nourish Shampoo and conditioner for the first time today and I cannot stop touching my hair! Even after just one use, my hair is shiny, bouncy and silky. Usually, my hair is a little frizzy and dry. The smell is botanical in a very refreshing way and does not linger. I really cannot believe it's only $3! LOVE THIS STUFF!

I've been using it almost daily for some 6 months. I rinse my fine longish hair every am, and it loves this poo. It's as clinical as a poo can get: faint good smell, clear (no color) and cleans nicely. Amazing how much leather you get. I'll be using it till my hair starts hating it. I also use a sulfate poo once a week to get a little better cleansing. I've used many expensive bottles: this one beats them all. That it's very gentle is a major bonus.

This is a decent clarifying shampoo. It states 'moisturizing' on the bottle label but I still feel it is a bit drying instead, because of all the essential oils in it. Only when used with conditioner, does it work in a moisturizing way.

Oh, but it does leave the scalp clean and the hair shiny. For the price, it is a good shampoo (not as good as shikakai but close).

Scared to see the parabens on the list. WHY????

I'm on the fence about this shampoo. It leaves my hair squeaky clean with no flakies or dandruff in sight. However it makes my hair a dry frizzy mess too, even with deep conditioning, which I wasn't expecting from something with "Moisturizing" in the name. I also must be slightly allergic to something in this (probably one of the many oils) because it can itch sometimes. I will use this up slowly as a clarifying shampoo but will not repurchase.

Whoa, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. I have short hair which is double bleached to platinum on a monthly basis. I use this dish on a daily basis and really nourishes and smooths my hair without weighing it down.

I'm on my second bottle of this shampoo and my hair loves it! The price is very affordable at 2.99 and has nice ingredients compared to commercial shampoos. My curly hair feels very soft because of the shampoo before I even use conditioner. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a shampoo without sulfates.

Methylparaben, propylparaben - cancer survivor despite their indifference - I have written Trader Joe's everal times about portraying themselves to be a healthy place to shop - but they have never, never ever ever responded or acknowledged a single complaint - You need to read what you buy there - it ain't all they say it is - don't get me wrong - for the most part, I love shopping there - but I don't appreciate it when someone pisses on my boots and then tries to tell me it is raining - if you know what I mean - Be healthy - read labels!

I have very coarse curly hair which needs a lot of moisture. This shampoo dried my hair out terribly....even after using conditioner my hair felt like hay.

A gentle shampoo not tested on animals, for only $3? This is such a steal. I'm on my third bottle of this shampoo. It's perfect for my long, thick hair. I wash every other day, so by the time I wash there is oil build up I need to get rid of. I can see this being a bit much if your hair doesn't get oily often or if you wash every single day. I usually have problems getting shampoo to clear up the oils on the side of my head and this makes my hair feel great every time, completely free of oil build-up. However as some people have noticed, that makes it seem a bit drying at times. (Which is why if your hair is already super dry, this wouldn't be your best bet.) My hair was colored many months ago and I'm growing it out, but I noticed the dyed areas feel a little too dry if I follow up with regular conditioner. Because of that, I always follow up with my deep conditioning treatment and leave it in for 3-5 minutes. My hair feels amazing, clean and moisturized. Highly recommend this shampoo!

My goodness this is drying! I suspect that this may be due to the huge amount of essential oils listed as the primary ingredients, which by nature can be stripping. I've been using this for about a month, and aside from having to use a huge amount to wash my entire head (expected giving its SLS free), I have had a massive amount of frizz/breakage since I started using this. It's gotten so bad that I literally have a halo of little hairs around my crown regardless of how I style my hair now and it's driving my crazy. I have wavy to curly hair, and this has made my frizz much more pronounced, although on the plus side, this cleans better than any other "natural" shampoo I have used to date (it's just does it too well!).

I adore this sulfate-free, organic shampoo. It is gentle enough for regular use on my dry, curly hair, but it cleans thoroughly enough to get rid of sweat and residue from hair products. It's only $3 but is easily the best shampoo I've ever used. I will never stop buying it.

I also love the conditioner, which for some reason isn't listed on MUA so I can't give it its own review.

Was really hoping this would work out for me: sulfate-free, organic ingredients, $3. The problem is I have chemical sensitivities, and something in this shampoo sets them off. (Smelling/inhaling certain chemicals affects a nerve and results in a kind of numbness in my lips and the tip of my tongue.) I can use a number of shampoos that have fragrances as long as the fragrance dissipates soon after my hair dries. Unfortunately the fragrance in this shampoo stays with you – I actually had to wash it out before going to bed several hours after using it.

Other than that, probably one of the better sulfate-free/organic-oriented shampoos I've tried. But that's grading on a curve. My hair color looked flat compared to traditional shampoos, and the frizzy/flyaway factor was definitely more pronounced. If I didn't have the sensitivity problem, I probably would've kept this around as a once-a-week clarifying shampoo.

I love this shampoo! I've had it for about a week n a half and have noticed a huge difference. I was a little skeptical at first because its organic but I don't think I would try any other shampoo and conditioners after this!
I tried this because I was having problems with my hair falling out prematurely and I was told it was because of the chemicals in the shampoo I was using. The first time I used it I noticed a difference right away, my hair was softer, I didn't need leave in conditioner, and my natural volume was back. I still use a little mouse to get "BIG" hair but not a whole lot is needed. I also bought the conditioner and I recommend them to everyone who's having problems with they're current shampoo and conditioner routine :)

Very good basic shampoo made from organically derived herbs. No bad ingredients, and a 16 oz. bottle is less than $3.00. I gave up Kiehl's to use this stuff; very happy with the way my hair looks and feels, and extremely happy with the price. Would absolutely recommend!
