This looks good on my naturally pigmented lips, but even better just over a liptint/stain in a deeper raspberry/plum. Gives a subtle wash of shimmer without looking OTT, though I am sure it can be built up. I like it because it is a great alternative to lipgloss and heavier textured lipsticks. If you only wear glosses, try this for a change! Picks up the light nicely too eg in the sun. This works well with a lot of different eye looks too- natural, smoky.. pretty and versatile.

Sheer plummy pink with lovely iridescence and great shine. Look deceptively dark in the tube. Love this shade!

as the others said, this is a shimmery YLBB type sheer lipstick. I find it really interesting that this lipstick has 100% on "will buy again" when Barbie Sweet & Single lipstick has a rather low "wba" rating as I find these two to be VERY similar. This one is ever so slightly less sheer, but is still totally sheer on me, and there's a touch more pink, almost unnoticably. These two look very similar in the tubes too, Lure being a tinge more dark, but the shimmer is exactly the same, the same shape, size and color. Lure is a Glaze formula and Sweet & Single is a Lustre but they feel the same on the lips to me also. Lure is easier to find than Sweet & Single nowadays so if you want the Barbie one, maybe you can widen your radar to include Lure. I love both and will keep both for now, if only to have a "backup" of this MLBB shade with shimmer.

I love this lipstick - it has become a staple of mine. This color looks good on most people, so I don't understand why MAC made it a limited edition. That's why I gave it an overall rating of 4 - this should be part of the permanent collection.

This is a gorgeous lipstick! One of the first lipsticks I bought and wore, actually, as until recently I was a gloss girl. It is a soft plum, with a touch of shimmer. On my lips it is a perfect YLBB color. I can't repurchase but if I could, I'm still not sure I would, as it is almost the exact color of my lips so I think I would rather try something I could actually see on me. The color itself is lovely though.

I love the lustre formula of MAC, and this shade is no exception. I had no plans to get this until I tried it on the counter, and it was the perfect, not that obvious plum. The lustre formula of MAC is really to die for, and this is one of the outstanding shades, IMO. Not too strong, wouldn't make me look purple. Gorgeous packaging, what MAC is known for - simple, yet with a green twist I love. Too bad it was limited edition.

This is such a wonderful shade - a berry glaze with a pearl sheen which is sheer enough to be buildable from the softest berry tint to a full-on "pop". I'm glad I got this while it was still available, and I'm dissapointed that I won't be able to repurchase since it's a limited edition. Such a shame, because this is a winning shade that is versatile enough to go with anything. 5 stars for Lure, the gem of my lipstick collection!

Lure is a great color!! To me, this is similar (although a tad darker) to "syrup", by MAC. I have syrup too and love them both. Lure is a soft berry color with a wonderful pearly sheen to it, which makes it so special. I love that it is a glorious color, yet isn't dark or bright and you don't go straight to the lipstick when you look at my face. Plus, the packaging is sooo good. The color brightens my face and looks so "now" with the lighter colors and everything that are currently in fashion. I'm sure I'll wear this one down to the nub. :) You can't go wrong with this color. And because it's so sheer, it's easy to apply and looks perfect every time. I highly recommend this one.

Lure is a sheer neutral to cold rosy pink lipstick with a hint of berries. It looks quite bright in the ward, but turns out very flattering when applied on lips. On me, Lure is a great foolproof MLBB shade, that goes with almost every make up look I do.
The glaze formula is very sheer and transluctant, so don't expext the high pigmentation of other MAC lip stuff, but I really like this formula, because it's so easy to work with it. I don't need a liner or a mirror, application is quick and foolproof.
The l/s itself feels soft and silky on the lips, I don't find it drying or greasy, but you need to reapply it during the day.

This is a beautiful color and if you're looking for a new shade this summer then this is it. I am very picky with lipsticks. I keep trying new shades but only have about 4 lipsticks that I repurchase. Now I have 5. And I think I'm going to follow suit and buy a back up. This is a perfect shade of pinky/berry. I am 40 and don't like lipstick to "dominate" my face. On the other hand, I don't like pale, hardly there lipsticks either. If you like "Sheer Plum" for the fall and winter then you will love Lure for the summer. Give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

This is GORGEOUS color on me!! i love this l/s so much, it's the only one i've ever considered backing up! Its just the perfect shade of rose berry on my neutral skin. It seems to have some purple to it, and it has a lot of dimension. I like that I can apply this sheerly or build it up. The glaze formula is nice too, its not drying.

This is sheer and beautiful--a lovely berry color for the cool PPP. I am very pleased with it and will probably buy a back-up! It has all the great qualities of the other MAC lustres, including the subtle vanilla smell.

This is the ONLY lipstick I liked and bought from the Lure collection, ANd I love it! It LOOKS REALLY dark in the tube, like a deep burgandy currant, but on it's very sheer and creates this gorgeous berry stain lip. A slightly deeper MLBB. I'm considering going to get a back up because it's really quite gorgeous on. You might pass it by because it doesn't look impressive in the tube, but oh what a mistake that would be! You must try this baby on to truely appreciate how pretty she is. Looks gorgeous with Sex Ray l/g for a deeper berry shade. I even throw some Pink Clash on top of that combo for a super shiney full lip <3love<3

This is like Lame and Sequin, but sheerer and without the gold frost. Its subtly chic, and totally gorgeous. A pinky plum shade, housed in a aqua and black container.

Upon first glance online and in the store, this was not a 'must grab' item. 'Burgundy' conjured a dark brown berry colour and who wants that in the summer? As I played with colours, I tried this dark berry purple colour on my hand and was shocked on how pleasant it was on my hand. It was far from a 'purple' or 'burgundy'. It was closer to a berry rose in a lustre formula so it gave a nice sheen with some depth of pigments but not over the top to overwhelm a face.
On my MAC NC30 skintone with medium pink lips, this was extremely pretty. A berry YLBB that changed to carry a nice pink tone ... I can see myself using this day in and day out. It's also the prefect compliment to the Sex Ray lipglass. Swipe this first and add the Sex Ray on top... you get a seriously sexy berry lip.
There was no real take aways from this... no horrible scent, no grating sparkles, or overpriced nonsense. It's a great lipstick for those desperately searching for that pretty berry rose lipstick.
