Being a green and blue shadow junkie .. this quad screamed my name, so of course, I had to have it! And it definitely does not disappoint. The quad contains: Nylon a frost finish which is a core shade, but one that I adore! It's a very soft shimmery pale buttery/cream shade that's perfect as a wash or browbone higlighter.
Julep, a veluxe pearl, and I think the prettiest and most uniquei in the quad. It's a shimmery icy mint soft green that almost has a duochrome type flash to it. Lustreleaf, which being a lustre, isnt' very pigmented, but packs a lot of sparkle. It's a light to medium minty green. And then Lightweight black, which is a shimmery deep sultry navy blue. All the colors work well together and it makes for a stunning smokey eye. One of my most reached for MAC Quads!

This is a pretty nice quad. I got rid of lusterleaf though, the texture was too dusty and there was too much fallout without much color payoff. I also got rid of nylon, because it was perm and I didn't need it, since I already have gold dusk pigment. But the dark blue (temporarily blank on the name) is a good crease color, and julep is my new hg eyeshadow. It makes my brown eyes pop and makes me wish I could find a dupe for it. Julep also has a beautiful texture that goes on so smoothly.

This is such a lovely combination of colours. I already had Nylon, which is a beautiful highlighter although a bit too frosty sometimes. Then there's Julep, which is a veluxe pearl, grey-green depending on the light. Lovely. And there's Lustreleaf which is amazing cos I really wanted to get when it first came out but my counter ran out of it. It's a nice medium green. It's a lustre but it was reformulated so it's much smoother than the older lustres. And then we have Lightweight Black which is a very dark blue that goes on charcoal grey on the skin. It reminds me of Contrast a lot, which is another of my fave colours from the permanent line. It is also a velvet like Contrast. Definitely an amazing quad and very summery!

I'm somewhat torn on this quad. I really wanted to love it with all of my heart (c'mon... another VP, you gotta grab it).. but I just can't.

Nylon - Frost
I've been pining away for Nylon anyways.. as I needed new highlight shades. So I was happy that this quad contained it.

Julep - Veluxe Pearl
The fact that there was a greenish veluxe pearl made me go and buy this quad. However this wasn't what I was expecting at all. I was expecting a midtone pale teal.. this is very very light. It works well as a wash, but since I'm tanned the colour isn't that apparent. I'm sure it would be a lot more vibrant on someone paler.

Lustreleaf - Lustre
Hmm.. another lustre. I seem to be getting more of these lately. Very glittery as per usual. Just meh.. I wish mac would stop putting this in SOO many palettes... it isn't that great

Lightweight Black - Velvet
In my opinion, the only true winner from this quad. Completely original and absolutely lovely. The name is a bit misleading, as it's more of a charcoal grey. It has deep periwinkle/cornflower sparkles which gives it a great bluish tinge. It looks absolutely amazing with soft wash grey.

I love the summerwear quad.
I used it this morning and I love the look created.
I used the nylon shade between the crease to brow bone.
Julep in the inner corner, lusterleaf right in the center of the lid and I used Humid (in the pot), in the outer corner and in the crease. plus I used the humid as a liner.
Amazing look

I happen to love this quad. I dont think the photos have done it justice. Summerwear is a limited edition release exclusive to Nordstrom. Inside you get four shadows:

nylon (frost) existing shade, soft shimmery golden yellow

Julep (veluxe pearl) shimmery mint green with a hint of grey to it

lustreleaf (lustre) sparkly true mint green and

lightweight black(velvet) shimmery navy with a silver sparkle.

i guess i cant say the colors are overly unique but i just loved the four together. I used the dark navy in the crease, the lustreleaf on the lid, the julep on the upper crease and nylon to highlight with BB sapphire shimmer liner. Gorgeous. the colors are all nicely pigmented and easy to blend. Much better quality than the previous Sweetie Cake quad. These just happen to be my colors and look great with my brown eyes. I love it but i can see alot of people will find the colors very standard.
