I absolutely love this hair spray! I have naturally wavy hair that I like to curl to give it a little more volume. I always had a hard time with hairsprays because they're way too sticky and crunchy but this product is great. It keeps my hair looking good all day and it is still soft and shiny.

Really, an excellent hairspray. Nexxus really excels in this area. I first tried this spray when I got a travel-sized one bundled with other Nexxus products. I have thick, curly hair and I use it while my hair is wet, on top of a silicone serum. I apply the serum, then the Comb Thru, then I comb my hair to distribute the spray evenly and let my hair air dry. It, along with the serum, control frizz as well as can be expected. It's not a super hold, extra hard hairspray. Some have complained about the smell, but I think it's pleasant. It reminds me of the Adorn my mom used in the 1970s, which is not a bad thing. :-P I've also used Nexxus' Frizz Defy spray, which is also good. The Comb Thru seems to have only slightly more hold than the Frizz Defy.

I bought a small bottle while I was traveling and love this! It is soft and my hair doesn't feel hard after I use it. It is truly a finishing mist - soft and gentle on my hair. Many times hair sprays will give me a headache - I don't like the smell - but this one is gentle. My only challenge with this is that my hair is very thick and it only holds my hair for about 2 hours then I have to spray it again. Luckily the bottle is small and it is easy to carry in my handbag.

I am putting yes repurchase because the product works, but I detest the scent. I do not find it dissipates at all and find it very distracting. I have long hair and need to hold my curls I put in, and I really wish I could find something yummy smelling like Aussie products, perhaps, though not as stiff.

My cousin was visiting and I tried her nexxus spray bc I've notice her hair was very managable and didn't look like it had product in it at all. Sprayed sparingly over my hair when it was down, combed thru and expected a helmet like effect and it being sticky and hard. However, it really does what it says, it keeps the shape it was in when it dries. The smell is a strong hairspray smell, but its not noticable after it dries. I have medium length hair, and after a 3 hour car ride with my hair down and the windows open, and after pulling it into a tight ponytail with a baseball cap on and sweating in it for 2 hours out in the sun, my hair bounced back to its shape when I had originally sprayed it. I was so impresses I had to write a review, and I went out and bought my own bottle, from the Superstore for $12 cdn. I'm so impressed, my asian hair can get so flat n oily at the roots, but this gives me volume all day :o) hope it works for u too!

I bought this at Christmastime off a clearance rack as it was bundled with an old fav. conditioner of mine from the 80s, Humectress. I have been using aerosol hairsprays again, usually with good results. My fine hair can't be weighed down by too much product or it's a disaster. This hair spray, however, does nothing for my hair besides makes me smell like an old lady. Lately I've only needed a few quick sprays to keep my flyaways on the top of my head at bay but this stuff makes me picture old Grandma Mabel with her More cigarettes and orange-red lipstick (gorgeous BTW). The smell is cloying and doesn't dissipate quickly enough. Gross.

I love this hairspray! My boyfriend (now fiance) gave it to me for my birthday. It came as a sample-size in a gift set from CVS along with the Humectress sample-size shampoo, full-size conditioner, and makeup bag. This product holds great without getting stiff. Does just what it says and more! I tested it out for volumizing, and it works great for that too! Definitely check it out, girls! I plan on purchasing a full-size bottle now that I'm all out.

I have naturally wavy and frizzy hair. When I use a flat iron to straighten my hair I need a good hairspray to hold the style once I'm done. This just wasn't what I was looking for. It didn't really have much hold to it. The comb thru part of this is laughable. I had to wash my hair out before I could even run my fingers through my hair. I wouldn't recommend this but if you want a light hold this would do.

I had no idea hairspray could be this good!

Very reliable hold, hair comes out shiny and soft, and scent is almost nonexistent. Combing through when dry results in a natural, touchable style.

I use this product to hold curls created with a flat iron in thick Asian hair. It keeps them from uncurling.

I originally tried the Dove Flexible Hold, but the smell, though not unpleasant, was just too strong and the hold would weaken substantially over the course of the day. Also tried Elnett, but the smell was just too nasty. It's true that Comb Thru doesn't smell great, but you only have to put up with it for a minute before it thoroughly dissipates. In the long run, I like that better than putting up with even a nice scent all day long.

I'm not a hair junkie product at all because I tend to go natural with my hair and as little product in it as possible. I've purchased all types of different hairsprays in the past from Big Sexy Hair to Tresemme for special occasions for when I style my hair and need some hold. I have always hated the feeling and texture of hairsprays and only use them on special days. When I spotted this Nexxus hairspray at Target I fell inlove with the description. I wanted something that will hold, but not give a crunchy, stiff and flaky hold. Let me just say this is the BEST hairspray I have ever used! If you're like me and always end up brushing products off your hair half of the day, then give this a shot! I curled my hair in hot rollers and sprayed a ton of this all over because my hair is pin straight and never holds a curl. This hairspray held my curls so well without making it look stiff and gross - it looked so natural as if i had no hairspray on at all. It lasted half of the day and by the end of the day I got sick of the bouncy curls and comb my hair through - VAVAVOOM! This gave me so much volume and nice wavy curls instead! It even left my hair smooth as if I never even had any holding spray products in my hair to begin with! And I had ZERO hairspray flake residue!

I absolutely love this product and going to hunt down a travel size for on the go! LOVE IT! There is a smell to it, but to me it's a hair salon type of smell. It doesn't linger on me even when I pack it on. This is my HG hairspray and I don't use hairsprays all that often, but I will be using this a lot to style without the fuss and worry of ugly crispy looking hair! :)

I love this hairspray! It keeps my hair in place without a stiff helmet head feeling. It also gives my hair volume and shine. I have tried many high end hairsprays and I keep coming back to this one. The smell does remind me of a grandma(whatever that means), but it does eventually go away.

My hair is straight and I love this stuff! It gives very good hold without any crunch. I really had not noticed the smell that a few other reviewers had mentioned. My only complaint is I feel this hair spray is a little pricey.

I have curly hair and this is the only hairspray I will ever use. It holds really well but doesn't get stiff or crunchy. A little goes a long way. Yes, it does smell bad but the smell fades in a few minutes. I have never found anything better.

I bought a trial size of this hairspray while on a business trip last month. I was close to running out of my usual Tresemme hairspray and had pretty much run out of patience with how dry, crispy, and fried it was making my hair. So, being on the lookout for something new presented me with the perfect time to switch. The first thing I noticed about it was the scent. It smelled very retro and heavy. I wasn't sure how well that would fare with me. Still, I decided to give it a try. It helped keep my hair calm and happy throughout the day and the smell disappeared quickly. My hair stood up to the ultra humidity of Boston as well and stayed soft. That, in itself was impressive. The true test, I thought, was how well it would behave when I got home to SF.


I used the trial-size for a few more days to make sure it worked well, and ended up purchasing the full size which I now use daily. My hair doesn't feel the least bit dry or crispy. In fact, it feels soft and manageable, and at the risk of sounding like a cheesy commercial, I can happily say this is my hairspray of choice.

I love the hold it gives and how natural it makes my hair look and feel. It isn't sticky at all and is under ten bucks at Sally's. However the scent is so strong and overpowering - it reminds me of sitting in a hair salon 20 years ago. The smell isn't completely unpleasant, almost retro....but it is just too strong. I use this rarely now just to get rid of it but I wouldn't buy this again.

Just an average hairspray, not too sticky that is for sure. There is just one problem-one BIG problem, and that is the horrific smell. I sprayed just a little bit on my bangs, but I could still smell it hours later and it made me nauseous. I can't really describe it, other than it smells like old fashioned aerosol deodorant that you are spraying on your hair. For this reason alone, I simply can't give it away and it is going in the trash.

I'm not a big fan of hairspray at all. I don't use a lot of hairstyles that call for lots of hairspray and I don't like need a ton of hold on a day to day basis. So something I can comb through appeals to me. I like this stuff well. It doesn't seem to cause my hair any harm and it adds all the hold I need. For performance, Dove hairspray seems just as good, however, Nexxus says Comb Through helps protect hair from damaging environmental elements. No idea if there is any truth to that, but I am willing to pay a little extra for the Nexxus hoping it is adding some protection.

This has become my HG hair spray. I have naturally curly hair and it does an excellent job of taming frizz and holding my style without any sticky residue, lacquer effect, or stiffness. The smell is not great, but it's gone within 10 seconds, so who cares?

I cannot tolerate the smell of this hair spray. It smells like someone sprayed air freshener in a chemical factory. While it does not make my hair stiff and I am able to comb through it, the hairspray really does not hold my hair style at all. Also claims to volumize and add shine which it does not. Definite miss.
