This scent is absolutely delicious. The lime is so appealing and supported by bamboo and vetiver. This smells really expensive and would be a scent to wear with a white button down shirt and white pants during a summer event.

I bought this online without trying it first. I wasn't disappointed, but the initial cloud of fragrance that you get when you first apply it, doesn't last long. My first impression of it was that the fragrance just doesn't last more than an hour.
So then, the bottle sat around on my dresser table for three months because it was too cold to wear a summery fragrance. Now it appears that, having sat around for a while, this perfume works better. If I spray it in the morning, I can still smell it on my clothes in the evening. Not strong--but it is still there. I really like the scent, but I don't think I would buy this one again.

The previous reviewer did a fabulous job describing this perfume. Although this has long since been discontinued, I got it from an online discount store for next to nothing. I took a chance and ordered it w/o sampling it first. I got lucky! I relish the fact that no one else smells like me. I thoroughly enjoy this with its lime (refreshing), bamboo leaves (vegetal), and waterlily (cheerful) notes. Its unique, noticeable, yet not sickening. Overall, its a scent everyone surrounding me: whether i know them or not, guys and girls, enjoy being around. Great for day-time, enclosed spaces, open-air, evenings, warm weather, cool weather... everything really. I've noticed that when I hug my guy friends they tend to snuggle a little longer when Im wearing this (and I can hear them inhaling deeply). The only reason why I would not purchase this again is because I like to try new things. But I will happily finish this bottle to the last spritz. Oh, and the bottle is too cute. It has a transparent pink top that has the same abstract shape as the clear bottle filled with lime green fragrance. Pink and Green Just like a flower- a wonderful vanity accent.

I love the smoky, earthy quality yet sparkling fresh take of this bamboo-inspired fragrance, not sure of its the leaves of bark/stem of the bamboo used here, but overall with the green notes of lime and vetiver, its uplifting yet earthy (read: dirty sexy) scent keeps wafting out from under the layers of my clothing. Very nice given the cool autumn here in Australia. Am a sucker for anyhting bamboo though, given my Asian roots, and this is one of the best that nails it. Bvlgari Omnia is too crystalline (white-water-bamboo accord) and flat; J. Lo's Deseo too flowery and one-dimensional; Oscar's bamboo though is a tranquil journey from vivacious citrus start to a calming centre of bamboo, trailing in a vetiver base. LURVE it, it's a staple now sitting next to my Bvlgari Green Tea Extreme, Calyx, and TDC's Sel de Vetiver.

Its a cool watery fragrance . First note has hints of peppers. Then goes into this powdery smell. Lasting power is around 3hrs. Not worth it for the price paid.

I love the smell of this, although my sister seems to hate it.. the packageing is so cool! and it really suits me.
Fragrance doesn't last too long, but still ok.

Lime-y and generic. I always get drawn in by the word bamboo, whether it be a fragrance or an item of makeup. But this was flat and disappointing. Mr. de la Renta, why?

Couldnt agree with FeySparrow more - (read her review below). This is green and watery, reminiscent of Escada fragrance (green bottle with red dot). Very plain and just not good in any way.

I find that I like this. It's very reminiscent of L'Artisan's Verte Violette, but a little 'more' of everything: a little spicier (cardamom?), a little more citrusy & woodsy, a tiny bit chemical in it's drydown (Verte Violette isn't) and definitely longer lasting! I wear it for daytime often and will most likely repurchase.
Oscar Bamboo notes: Lime, Cardamom, Green Tea, Bamboo Leaves, Water Lily, Vetiver, Cedar
