This pulls a strange purpley, murky brown on me. The finish isn't forgivng either, the sheen adds to the unflattery. I haven't given up hope, though. I am determined to make this shade work!

The makeup artist recommended this as a neutral for me, and I bought it without actually trying it on. I didn't want to get the used tester on my kisser. UGH. This looks awful on me. I'm an NC42/44 and it just looks muddy and gross on my complexion. I can't bring myself to toss it because it's barely used and still smells like vanilla. Maybe I'll melt it down and mix it with something else.

Bronze gold red lipstick, i really love it but sadly enough I already had a dupe for this, also by MAC, limited edition Back to the beach collection: cremesheen in "Funbathing". This is exactly the same colour. I swatched both on my hands and came to that conclusion, so I waisted 18,5€ on "O", still I really enjoy this. Very glamorous and sophisticated with a special twist: the golden shimmers. Looks great with a lipliner like Half Red.

I wanted to love this, I really did! It was my very first MAC lipstick, and I purchased it after reading all the reviews. I'm a woman of colour and I thought it would particularly suit my skin-tone. I saw that the lipstick in the tube looked "strange" in the store, but wasn't deterred.
It applies really frosty - too much, and the frost is a "cool" not a golden one, which doesn't suit my skin tone. The berry undertones are barely visible - though pretty obvious on the make-up wipe when you remove it weirdly enough!! The lipstick itself is dry dry dry, and while it does have pretty decent staying power, only putting a clear balm or gloss over it makes it feel tolerable. It feels like a straight up lip pencil.
The pictures look gorgeous, so maybe this is a lipstick that looks different on everybody.
BOTTOM LINE: see if you can try on a sample before you purchase this, because it isn't for everyone. It certainly wasn't for me!

Beautiful color. I'm NC25, so this shows up as a little dark on me. It's very flattering, however, but more of a dressy evening look.

This was my very first MAC lipstick purchase ever, and I've worn it for about 10 years! I adore this lipstick, and while it's probably my HG (for evening wear), I need to repurchase soon. My current tube is down to almost nothing and I have to use a lip brush to dig some out and apply! This shade truly does look different on everybody. On my pigmented lips, it's a deep, mauvy/browny pink. I tend to stay away from Frost lipsticks because I think they can look dated, but this lipstick is not frosted in the way we're used to. It's more of a pearlescent sheen that looks lovely and youthful. This is my husband's favorite shade on me.

I thought this would be way too dark and frosty on me but the Mac sa insisted i try it and am so glad I did!
It looks like a dark berry on me and has a nice vanilla scent.
I"m not crazy about the texture but i have repurchased this a few times.

"O" (cute, random name?) is a dark plummy brown with a golden, copper subtle frost. i think the natural pigmentation of your lips also really depends on how this shows up on you. if your lips are quite pigmented, then it will show up a little more of a coffee brown on you (like my sister). because i'm fairly pale and like to wear heavier eye make-up, i like to apply this over lip balm to give it more of a sheer finish. it still gives me a rosy plum, but there is definitely a brownishness too. i like to wear this when i've done a look using MAC's Antiqued eyeshadow on my eyes, as they kind of match.
this to me is basically MAC's Sequin lipstick (also a frost), but with a shot of coffee. Sequin is more of a bronzey pink, whereas this is a dark browny pink.
this is definitely a unique lipstick in my opinion and is my first frost finish lipstick. the lasting power is also great!
would repurchase.

I am really lucky I hit the jackpot with “O”! I swapped for it, since I want to try out MAC lipsticks, but I don’t have a MAC counter near me, and I find the selection of shades & finishes online a little ‘daunting’. It looks intimidating in the tube, but on me it’s a semi-sheer, bronzy, pinkish-plum (it reminds me of Benefit’s ‘Bahama Mama’ which was my HG lipstick about 10 yrs ago). Thankfully it has a strong plum undertone on me, which prevents it from being too ‘brown’. I even like the ‘frost’ finish, it just gives the color dimension. The frost is more apparent the heavier it is applied. I like one or two coats of this, blotted, and topped with a moisturizing gloss/balm. It just gives my lips a pretty pink-plum tint with just a hint of bronze shimmer, that perks up my pale lips & brightens up my face. Not really MLBB, since this is no where near the color of my natural lips, but the mix of warm & cool tones makes this a very wearable neutral on me. The lasting power is decent, about 2-3 hours. The formula is a bit dry, but I wear balm or gloss over or under anyways, so I don’t find it problemtic. I find myself reaching for this often (and I have a lot of lipcolors to choose from!) mainly because it seems to look good with anything. I would most definitely repurchase, should I have the need. I’ll give it 4 lippies for now, with the potential to up to 5 if this makes it to HG status for me!

My aunt from Canada sent me this lipstick and I think it's great for my skin type but I won't recommend it for girls with dark complexion.

This is my absolute favorite MAC lipstick... and actually my favorite in general. Lipstick is my addiction and I have tried many. It is super long lasting, can be dabbed on lightly or worn fill strength with a natural eye. I get compliments every time I wear it..
Update: I have had much more experience w lippies the last couple of years and this one is retired to my "used to be my fave" status... It was great when I was in my teens and early 20s but I find it too frosty and drab for my liking now..

On pale, yellow-toned complexion: an unattractive muddy, frosty-metallic, plummy-bronze.
That said, probably more a case of a poor shade of lipstick for such a complexion than a poor shade per se.

Edit 3: just wanted to add that it is my signature lipstick now and i always get at least one compliment on it throughout the day.
Edit 2: I think there was something wrong with the tube I got, because after the initial few wears, the hard, sandpaper-esque layer of roughness is off the lipstick and it's perfectly fine suddenly.. Now i understand all the rave reviews..
I think the coat on top of the lipstick needed to be worn off before it became normal and non-drying in texture.. :) Not moisturizing, of course, but just a normal frosty lipstick texture... Am taking off a lippie because it shud hav performed perfectly from the start. Four lippies bcuz it has become my everyday apply N go lipstick!
.
Finally! Colour is soo pretty and shows up much more smoothly. Looks BEAUTIFUL, just as I hoped it would! :) i tried this on my mom cuz she has green eyes and paler skin than me... It looked gorgeous on her too. Scratch that, she looked gorgeous, and with no other makeup on! Btw with different coloured lipliners it morphs into different hues. You need not even fill lips with lipliner, just the tracing of the shape will do, and then putting this on. I think the proximity to whatever colour u choose to line with brings out the different hues in this, eg with dark plum u can get a gorgeous vamp look... With a nude liner, it becomes a flattering bronzey nude. Like i said-- dont need to fill in lips with the liner...it morphs colour somehow! 4 stars for Versatility
.
Edit: DH loves this one on me n compliments it so i decided not to return n upgrade rating to 4... a testimony to how much our loved ones' opinions hold sway over our own!
.
Too drying. Parches my lips more than many cheaper priced lippies in my collection. Colour is beautiful and i tried many ways to make this work. Neither balm beneath helps, nor gloss on top. Even if worn after other lipsticks, in the middle to create more dimension, this will not work. It actually looks disgusting cuz the frost gathers in all the sudden lines/crevices that appeared upon application, and it looks like i haven't been drinking water for days, wandering thru sahara... And upon inexplicably finding some pots of cheap kindergarten arts n crafts glitter in the middle of this desert, decided to eat them. Bleh..

My long grey hair and olive skin make it challenging for me to find the right color. That is until I found O. It has just the right brown, gold and plum to give me color, but not too over the top. I have been wearing it for about two years straight and will never be without it.
Lipcolor is the last thing I put on. It goes on with one hand (without using a mirror) in the car when I'm on my way to work. It also has to stay on because I hardly ever reapply makeup during the day. Touchups? Rare. I usually get a few hours out of an application. I highly recommend this for grey hair.

Love this colour!! It is my ultimate 'go to' lipstick - goes with everything and for any occasion, dressed up with lipgloss or left alone for day/work. However at the current price of £13.50 I think it is over priced - but I think that about a lot of MAC products LOL

I must have the wrong thing. I am NC42 and I wore this, and it looks like mud on my lips, dark ugly brown. I am normally a red lip girl, so I don't know what is wrong. Viva Glam I - the cute red looks gorgeous on me.

Complex, interesting color, a coppery-red, but not for me. Unfortunately, this incorporates the usual crappy MAC lipstick formula, a killer to the lips.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. In passing, this looks like a nice but plain coppery bronze lipstick. I actually had this on a shelf forever because I was not in the mood for bronze brown lipsticks.
I picked it up again last week and put it on as lark and OMG. It's not bronze. It's an awesome plummed out brown with a strong gold reflect in it...if Trax were a lipstick..it would be O. Go to your MAC counter and swatch this for yourself.
I have fair yellow undertoned skin, around NC 20 and this just does amazing things to my face. I have dark brown eyes and hair and this actually brightens my eyes when I wear it..my skin looks luminous. They really need more shades like this..for all I know they are out there, but they are masquerading as common colors!
One thing to note, this lipstick will dry out your lips...ALOT. My lips take on a dry papery feel after about 4 hours. I put on a healthy base of lanolin today and primer with some mineral foundation and I got about 6-8 hours before my lips dried out. So prepare in advance...drink some extra water and carry lip balm.

MAC does not dissappoint with this one. "O" looks mostly brown in the tube but applies as a deep frosty bronze with golden flecks. This is a great color. Since it is a frost lipstick, it is drier than others. Maybe it's named "O" because when you first see it in the tube you say, "Oh! This is too brown", but then you apply it and say, "Oh! This is the best color ever."
