I really like this moisturizer.
It has a great smell. Sort of like orange creamsicles.
It is very heavy, so you do not need to use a lot unless your face is extremely dry.
I have found that it has made my face look brighter and smoother. This is a great moisturizer to use at night.

I have dehydrated, sensitive skin that gets very oily very quickly if I don't moisturize properly, especially in the winter. Cosmetic Lad works reasonably well for me - I use a tiny, tiny bit on my forehead and nose, and more on my cheeks and chin, and my skin feels amazing. As an added bonus, it doesn't irritate my face or break me out. That said, it's probably too heavy for summer - but the small jar will last me til the end of winter.

Weird, weird product. Made and marketed for boys (but I bought it anyway after going on the Lush website and deciding it would be best for my skin type). I gave it 3 stars, because as a moisturiser? 1 star. As a cleanser? 5 stars!!
I have combination/oily skin and this made my skin even shinier (even though I chose it because it's supposed to be good for combination skin) - I mean, it made my skin REALLY shiny. But as an eye-make up remover (even waterproof!) it's amazing!!! I rub this over my eyes - it never stings or irritates my eyes - then wipe if off with a cheap-o cleansing cloth (Tesco cleansing wipes 59p for 25) and it does the job! Fantastic. I do however have to cleanse my face with my beloved Liz Earle afterwards but for an eye make up remover it's fab and I know I'll be using it up but not as a moisturiser. Wouldn't pay £12 for this again though, it's just not the moisturiser for me.

I love Cosmetic Lad. I have reeeally pale skin which sometimes gets quite red after normal cleansing, but after working for Lush over Christmas I had time to tailor a whole routine around it! I use Aqua Marina cleanser and then Cosmetic Lad over it every day and night, and my dry, dull, rough skin has never been better. Also, I used to suffer from this weird ew-y residue gunk all around the pores of my nose no metter how much cleaning/exfoliating I was doing. But after two weeks of doing this, voila. Gone. Thaaaank you, my beloved Lush.

I got a tub of this because I wanted a cruelty free moisturizer that smelled good. And this meets that criteria. In winter, this is great on my face as my skin gets very dry. I can use this twice a day, as a night cream and as a morning moisturizer before makeup. In summer, this is entirely too heavy to use at all as my skin gets too oily.
I've got very dry, sensitive skin on my body from allergies to a beloved pet, and when they get bad, I can't handle any scented product on my skin at all. This does the trick in those cases. It's too expensive to use as a body cream, but if your hands are sore and dry or something, it's great for spot treating bits that need help.

I like this moisturizer. It seems to be the right strength for my combination skin, and isn't overly expensive. Will repurchase.

I cannot believe I haven't reviewed this before as I have been using it for years (as has my boyfriend - we always share a tub). Firstly, the smell is just devine...if I could find a similar perfume i would bathe in the stuff!
It leaves my skin feeling soft, supple and comfortable and eradicates any dry patches. I asked my brother for a tub this Christmas as I had run out....following a sniff and skin test pratically my whole family have now bought a tub.
It's not expensive in my opinion..costing less than £11 it lasts about 2 months with 2 of us using it.
The pot itself is a round tub which you dip your fingers in and there is no option to buy it in a pump which is a shame as I know some people don't like to put their fingers into pots! I personally use tiny spatulas with any cream/foundation etc that comes in this form so don't really mind either way.
My boyfriend tells me it genuinely soothes after shaving and I know I have used it when I have over exfoliated and found it to be soothing!
I would wholeheartedly recommend this and hope to god Lush never discontinue!

Edit: liking this more. It sinks in well, moisturizes and doesn't cause breakouts. Also, you need very little. Smells good, DH always comments i smell good when i use this.. A good no-frills product that works well.
.
Not irritating to my skin like Imperialis but definitely too expensive for what it is.. I firmly requested a sample ( though the salespeople are very desperate and eager to foist the product on you)--thank God. This is sooo not worth the price. That said, it smells good, and if i use it at night (that gives it time to absorb) then i wake up with very soft happy skin in the morning. Soft, plumped up, esp the undereye skin (i use it there too). I have not had results like this with most face creams.
.
Still, wayyy too expensive esp considering it doesn't have added benefits like brightening or fading pigmentation. That would at least justify the price!

First off, I have combo skin with an oily T-zone in summer and really dry cheeks in winter. So now that Australia is getting cooler, my cheeks weren't getting enough loving from my Summer HG Vanishing Cream so off I went into my local LUSH Store looking for something richer to please my whole face in the colder months or at least just my cheeks. So excitedly I tried it just on my cheeks for daily use with Vanishing Cream on my T-zone.
I wanted to love this. I REALLY DID! I pretty much love every other 30 things I have from LUSH. I should have gotten a sampler to use at home instead if falling in love with this in store when it was just on my *hand* because it made them feel velvetty. UGH I KNOW I REALLY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER!
Because... my cheeks aren't any better/worse with it... they're more like 'oh, cosmetic lad? MEH!' which is frustrating because I love Lush but they aren't cheap as chips! EVEN if I put more on my cheeks just as a NIGHTCREAM and they were still 'MEH.' I don't even know how that's possible. And in my frustration, I tried using a lil more all over my face as a night cream and when I woke up - it was just disgusting - I had a really greasy and unpleasant film across my T-zone and my cheeks were still MEH!
SO... I wouldn't buy this again and at the moment am struggling to find ways on how to use up the pot. Perhaps I will just need to put up my MEH cheeks this Autumn/Winter and use some on my decolletage to hasten the process.

Oh, Cosmetic Lad. I used to adore you so! I loved how you made my skin feel, and how you smelled. Even my ex commented on the lovely aroma (like oranges, vanilla and sandalwood), not knowing of our secret love! I thought our relationship would last forever, but sadly my usual perfect skin became... bumpy. Small bumps that never went away, and more-than-my-usual-occasional-single-blemish-"breakouts" plagued my face! Could it be? My precious CL, changin' me? Alas, upon reading the ingredients list, I discovered cocoa butter - betrayal! Everyone knows cocoa butter is comedogenic, particularly on sensitive faces like my own! Sadly, I and CL had to part ways. I am still on the hunt for my HG moisturizer...
Lush moisturizers and me will never be together forever, at least until they stop putting cheap crappy cocoa butter in their stuff! If their moisturizers break you out and you've never figured out why, the high content of cocoa butter is probably the culprit. My skin is so sensitive to cocoa butter that my skin breaks out if I use a lotion/moisturizer with it in, and if I use lip balm containing it, my lips turn bright red, itch, swell up, get tiny hives, crack and peel. Not pretty. I've become a total ingredients-list-reading nerd because of it.
Though, if anyone knows of or can point me to a place where I can find a perfume blended of these notes, I would adore you forever! I miss how CL made me smell :(

I've used Cosmetic Lad for over a year. I really like the smell (as another reviewer said, orange creamsicles!), and I think it moisturizes very well. When I finished my pot, I switched over to an Olay facial moisturizer with sunscreen to use over the summer. I found it okay, but I was nearly finished the bottle when I went back to Lush a few days ago. I was originally planning to buy Imperialis, just to try something different, but the Sales Associate said that Cosmetic Lad is more brightening, which I find more beneficial!
As soon as I put it on again, I realized just how much I've missed it! I might mix it with the Olay over the summer, but this product really works for me!
I personally did not get any residue from this product, and it didn't make me break out. Not the cheapest moisturizer out there, but it's the cheapest of the Lush moisturizers, and it lasts for a long time, about a year (don't use too much each time!)

I've been using this moisturizer for several months, and CL has actually reduced my acne and evened out my skin tone. It is a bit heavy-feeling but I live in a desert climate so it's perfect for smoothing out dry patches. It seems to go on a bit lighter if your skin is damp when you apply it. It helps to smooth flyaways as well.
The fragrance is really nice, like orange blossoms--it says it contains lavender but you can't smell that at all. The price (around $20 for 1.4 oz) is okay for Lush considering they sell similar moisturizers for $80 and you only need a tiny bit each day.

I've tried Imperialis and Celetial, I wanted a moisturizer that was between the 2 and found Cosmetic Lad. It is more on the heavy side. Its thick but doesn't make me break out. The smell reminds me of an orange dreamsicle! I wear it mostly in the winter and at night as a night cream. I purchased this online at the Uk store which made it significatly cheaper than buying from the Lush store.

Cosmetic Lad is my winter moisturiser (I use Enzymion or Vanishing Cream in Summer) and am very impressed with it.
I have combination skin and it wasn't too rich for my oily bits and was just enough for my dry bits. It didn't make me oily or break me out or anything so it worked for me.

I love Cosmetic Lad. I've been using this for a month and it is my favorite face cream ever. It smells like a fruit smoothie and I like that it is natural, and doesn't contain harsh chemicals. Keep in mind, this is not a lightweight cream. I personally like heavier creams and this gives me a beautiful dewy look underneath my powder foundation. It smooths out all the dry areas on my face and keeps my face moisturized for most of the day. My only complaint is that this is pretty pricey for the amount you get. I've already used up half and I probably have another 3 weeks before it's all gone. Will definitely repurchase again and again.

Pros: Smells really great, like vanilla & citrus. A little product goes a long way. Ingredients that are not chemically based.
Cons: I have somewhat sensitive skin, & it really made be break out badly. For weeks I had painful cyst like pimples and blotchy skin. I discontinued use & my skin went back to normal.

This feels really heavy going on but once it's absorbed you can't feel it. Sometimes I mix a little Breath of Fresh Air Toner with this to make it lighter. It leaves a matte finish and controls my oilies. However, this clogs my pores. No acne breakouts but small little flesh coloured bumps, that take forever to go away! Also I hate the packaging, so unhygenic having to dip fingers in all the time, I wish they would put more of their products in those little pump bottles like Grease Lightning.
