Honestly I like the product but I got it in the new shades that came out because I was matched too "NC3.5" but I'm usually am NC20 they said it was a mixture between 20-25 so I'm like okay whatever. I tried the sample it looked dark n orangey and I went back with make up on the guy matched me to the same colour and it looked good in the mirror, brightened up my face and everything but I barely reach for it now because I feel as if I put liquid bronzer all over my face. It smells nasty but such good coverage. I have tiny dry patch near my mouth n nose probably n it really brings out my dryness I'm like oh cool thanks. So you pretty much need perfect skin to use this med-full coverage foundation but I wouldn't understand why someone who has perfect skin use this anyway if they have perfect skin. Anyways I wish I could return it or something. Waste of $45.

I have recently been on a foundation mission to see what other products are out there, and honestly nothing really beats studio fix in my mind. I have had this foundation for a very long time and I love it, but I thought I would try and see what else is out there. I have tried many different foundations, NARS, Estee lauder, Ingalot, Chanel the list goes on. While I liked some of those products, I kept going back to studio fix. My skin is combination, but all in all very easy to deal with. When I wear foundation, I actually want to feel like I have something on, I want a medium to full coverage, that does not look like I have a layer of slap on my face, but something that gives me a flawless finish and this foundation has this. It's coverage, texture, application and colour is fantastic. I also must say that although this foundation is expensive in Australia over $50 it is worth it and lasts a very long time. I would recommend this to anyone that is searching for the perfect foundation. My tip, use studio fix powder to set the foundation for an even finish. This foundation is one of my staple products. I always have to have this in my makeup collection as its my security blanket. This foundation is great for those who want that extra coverage i would say its medium to full coverage and it is buildable. The price isn't bad at all for a high end foundation and one that is good. The packaging is nice the bottle can look small but there is the right amount of product in there, I am in the shade "NC20" I struggled with finding my shade at first as i bought it offline the first time but its the perfect match they also have a wide colour range so without a doubt your skin tone will be there. I love the finish of this foundation is isn't too matte but it isn't to shiny or oily. I have oily to combination skin so sometimes i can be tricky picking out foundations and i have found this one works amazingly well on the skin! I would normally wear this on days i need a little extra coverage whether i have had a breakout or im just having a bad skin day then this foundation is perfect. I have also noticed how long lasting it is throughout the day after a while though it does start to crease and settle into any fine lines and it can become very oily especially in the T-Zone area but other then that this foundation is perfection.

This foundation was probably the 2nd MAC foundation I purchased. I used this product for a few years before trying anything else. But the older I got, the oilier I got, and this foundation became near useless to me. It didn't do anything for my acne-prone and oily skin, especially during the warmer months. Primers and powders did not help keep the foundation in place in the summer. It would for the first 2 hours, but would have to re-apply blotting powder during the day - multiple times a day. If you have VERY oily skin, you'll probably have the same opinion.

This is the only foundation I use and will continue to use. I have oily skin and this foundation provides a wonderful matte and even glowing coverage. A little goes a long way. I suggest purchasing the pump and a stipple brush. Overall amazing coverage and quality.

I use nw10 because nc15 was just too yellow and this foundation give medium to FuLL coverage when used with the correct primer. It's not patchy but if you have dry skin you may want to use a good moisturizer though. Combo skin would just use a light primer. Other than that I love this foundation it provides much needed coverage to my acne scarred face.

I was recommended to use mac by many of my friends who adore mac. I went along to a store and said that I wanted something with fairly full coverage but not too cakey. They matched me to this Studio Fix Fluid and it looked great in the store and stupidly I bought it there and then from pressure from the salesperson.
The foundation just sits awfully, whether it is applied with fingers or foundation brush, with or without primer and moisturiser etc. tried many different ways but just sits on the skin and doesn't soak in properly. Shows up my pores on my cheeks hugely, never had this problem before either! Colour provides a good base but consistency is just awful. Also shows any sign of dryness that you have... I never see any signs of dryness usually but it showed up all around my nose and forehead and didn't feel smooth.
Good points:
The colour is well matched to my skin. Wide range of colours available. Would be good for oily skin and people with very small pores. Suit cool tones.
Bad points:
Just awful, awful consistency. Bad for dry skin of any kind. Shows any signs of large pores on cheeks etc.
Would not recommend I'm afraid. Mac, I wanted to you to live up to your name!

I really wanted to love this product, I tried so many different ways of applying it but could not get it to work for my skin. It is the most expensive foundation I have bought, ($60 NZD) yet I found colorstay worked better than this. Many people have talked about it being a long lasting foundation, but i did not find this was true, infact it came off in a lot of places and settled into my lines and pore, it also made my skin look greasy despite the fact I do not have oily skin.
I feel when you first apply it, it looks pretty good, but half an hour later it has already begun to settle into your lines and pores.
The shade I purchased was the lightest shade ( i think) NW13 and although I have pale skin, there are many people with lighter skin than I, which leads me to believe that MAC need to introduce a better range of colours.
I liked the sleek look of the bottle, but didnt have a pump which could lead to hygiene problems.
overall I found it didnt do that much for me and I would not purchase it again, nor will I finish it (something I usually do) which is disappointing considering the price tag and it also means Im still on the hunt for my HG foundation

I've been using this foundation on and off for 3 years. I'm NW 25 for most of the year. Winter time I am NW 15. It has great coverage and is nataural looking. Even though it's nataural you can still tell you have makeup on. It's super pretty but not too much. It's completely buildable depending on your preferences. I do have acne prone skin and if I use this too much my skin will start to break out a little. I just take a few days off from wearing it and my skin is back to normal. I have combination skin and this and Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation are the only ones that compliment my skin. I apply the Mac Studio Fix liquid with the Mac flat foundation brush. However, when I forget my brush I use a simple white makeup sponge and it does the job too. It doesn't look as smooth this way but it still works.
It doesn't come with a pump but Mac does make one you can purchase to use with this foundation. I think the pump is around $7.00. The price is a little high but I've seen other high end foundations that are much pricier. One bottle of this foundation lasts me well over 6 months. I wear it 3-5 days a week. It doesn't take very much if you're just looking for a moderate every day coverage.

It's oil free, comes in a sophisticated bottle, build-able and natural looking. It suits my skin tone perfectly. I've been using this foundation for 4 years now.
However staying power is not so great. If it had good staying power, there's no doubt I'd rate this 5/5.

Studio Fix Fluid is basically everything I look for in a foundation. It has a very nice, creamy consistency that blends easily, medium to heavy-medium coverage, has a satiny finish and is long-lasting. The colors are spot on for my golden-yellow complexion and no matter what kind of skin day I'm having, I can always rely on Studio Fix Fluid to make my skin look airbrushed. I always make sure to have a bottle on hand, and it's probably my most re-purchased makeup item ever. *Side note: I always make sure to set with a powder when wearing this foundation as my skin can get shiny half way through the day...
Blemishes - They will be camouflages for the most part, but if you have dark or very red blemishes, you may find that using an additional concealer may be necessary for full coverage. Minor blemishes should be covered. Application - My favorite application method for this foundation is using a duo-fiber brush for the most natural finish. I also like using a flat top brush, but in order for it not to look too heavy on my skin, I'll usually moisturize skin beforehand or spirtz my face with water. With this particular foundation I don't like using my fingers because it can look too heavy/porcelain. I think the way this foundation looks really depends on your application method. Often complaints are - It causes breakouts, it has a chemical smell, it's too heavy/cakey, the shades are either too yellow or too cool - there isn't a good in-between.
In the past, I did get a pimple here and there when wearing Studio Fix Fluid on a daily basis, but with a proper skincare (cleansing and exfoliating) routine, I don't have anymore breakouts when wearing it. But it might also be because I usually don't wear it for more than a few days in a row (I have way too many foundations to stay loyal to one). Everyone has a different sensitivity to certain products, so this may or may not irritate your skin. I highly recommend washing your face well at night to avoid break-outs (which you really should be doing everynight with or without makeup). I would reccomend getting a sample of this before buying, only because its a hit or a miss with most people.
Last, i have to share this with you- I really despise liquid foundations that dont have a pump. I dont care how you apply the product- with your fingers, a pad/sponge, brush... its just so much easier to control the liquid with a pump, its more sanitary, its so much less messy... AND with that being said, Mac sells their pumps SEPERATE. So I spend a decent amount of money, and I am forced to spend an extra 8$ on a pump for the products that I buy from them. I had NO clue about this because my mom actually got this for me... it was only until i went back to get a new one that i found out about the pump being extra. I think that is so pathetic...

When asked if I would buy this product again, I wish I could select maybe. I am seriously considering giving this product a second chance, as I think most of the problems I had with it the first time I tried it were due to an incorrect color-match, & my previous skin care routine. The shade I was matched with looked perfect in the Mac store, but when I tried it at home, it was awful. I'm no amateur when it comes to foundations either. It oxidized horribly & looked like an orange mask on my skin. It was so dark & orange. I also was having severe breakouts shortly after I began using it, but as I said above that could have been from my old skincare routine. What I did like was how thick & buildable this foundation was. If it were in the right shade & didn't oxidize horribly, it would do an excellent job of covering up my skin flaws. I think I'm going to give this another chance, but I'm going to color match myself this time.

great coverage, matte finish. spf15.
although the foundation led to small milia breakouts around my nose and mouth, the finish of it was very nice. stayed matte even after 6 hour wear and was confortable on the skin.
a little goes a long way, apply too much of anything and it will look cakey!

Love my studio fix foundation. Best coverage Iv had if you build it up and wear the studio fix powder over top. Covers all my redness. It is quite a thick formula but does not feel thick on the skin (depending on how you apply it). I just use my fingers as it blends better than my brushes. Downside is its quite hard to get out of the bottle because of the thickness but I heard you can buy it with a pump so will definitely be getting that next time. Best to get a proper colour match done at the store as its quite hard to find the right colour.

The lightest shade of this product was too yellow for my skin, it also looked very masky and plastic looking when it dried. I used a sponge to apply it. I found it very similar to Nimue foundation. It covered ok but it just looked really un natural! I wouldnt wear it again.

I find i have a slightly love hate relationship with this foundation
The negatives with it include the shade range which, whilst it is rather large, the colours are just awful and either really yellow or really pink, hence there is no inbetween neutral colour, therefore i find myself mixing foundations trying to get the right colour
The second problem is the formula: i find this foundation so thick that i need to hold the bottle upside down for ages before it droops out. It is not runny at all and definitely feels heavy on the skin, may i also add that the smell is awful and the product doesnt come with a pump so it quite hard to get out. Because it is so thick it is quite hard to use a brush directly and i end up using my hands to blend it initally
However, there are many positives to this product that i found have not been matched by high street products
The first being the coverage of this foundation as it is so super high coverage and leaves your face completely flawless, you also only need a very small amount of product to cover your face. As well as this, I find the foundation has a lovely finish which is somewhere in between dewy and matte, leaving your face with shine in all the right places
Finally, and probably the best positive to the product is it's longevity and lasting power on the skin, I find this to be absolutely brilliant for staying on my skin it doesn't stray at all despite hot weather, humidity, rain, it will stay put all day and not budge until you take it off, I find this a massive benefit as your face looks the same at the end of the day as it did when you applied your foundation
Therefore, whilst i don't think the coverage it suitable for daily use, if you have an evening out or event where you need your foundation to last all day i would definitively recommend this one.

I thought this product was amazing! Something i would go and buy a hundred times over again!
There were times where I found it had a cakey effect, but it was more than likely my error of application. But now it seems to be fine.
I wear this over spots, under eye bag, and as a normal foundation. MAC Studio Fix Fluid - you are great. I enjoyed you a lot!

This is my all time favourite foundation... Before I found this this I tried all the cheaper ones like Rimmel and Max Factor etc, then tried Estée Lauder double wear which seemed great at the time, but this is even better! By far the best in the whole mac range and the one with the heaviest coverage I've ever tried. It looks bright and covers all your red bits, doesn't cling to dry skin, generally gives such an amazing finish! I save it for going out instead of everyday use purely as its a bit pricey, but its soooo worth it and your skin will look flawless in photos! I set mine with a loose powder and still find after a few hours partying its come off a bit on my nose, but looking at the rest of my friends it's obvious my makeup still has the best staying power!

Studio fix fluid is my everyday foundation. I wear it to work, I wear it out, I wear it to the store, I'm obsessed. Definitely HG for me. Coverage is excellent, one pump and my redness is covered and my skin looks beautiful. However, SFF takes a bit of getting used to. It can be heavy if not applied correctly, my favorite method is using a damp beauty blender. If applied correctly (at least for me) the result is matte skin, imperfections are covered without masking the skin and the skin is flawless. The price isn't too bad either at $27 compared to other higher end brands the shade range is excellent. It's a winner in my book :)

My skin is oily, and this doesn't help, but I love the fact that it has sunscreen and I barely break-out with this foundation. I used to deal with so much acne, and this foundation does not make it worse!
