I've never used a facial oil to remove my make-up before, I usually just wipe the majority off with a make-up wipe prior to cleansing or double cleansing so this was new for me.
At first the strong smell put me off and it did take some getting used to. I apply a small amount over my makeup/dry skin and work it all over my face, then I wet my hands and rub in circular motions which makes a light lather which you then rinse off. It surprised me how well it works at removing makeup, it just breaks it all down so that when I go in with my cleanser its actually cleaning my skin. It doesn't remove my waterproof eye makeup completely though, I needed to go in with my eye makeup remover.
Undecided if I would repurchase this because of the price when MAC's Cleanse Off Oil is around $20 cheaper, but I did enjoy using this.

In general, I like how this make-up remover works to break up the cosmetics on skin without using oils that clog pores. An esthetician/make-up artist recommended that I try this so I did. I used to use olive oil to pre-cleanse my face and that worked fine, but I do like the lighter oils used in the ingredients. And it doesn't smell bad either or break out my skin.

Love, love, love it! It has a soft flowery smell, and you can tell you are using a plants-based product. Removes makeup and SPF, and prepares the skin for the cleanser. I only use it at night, for removing the daily remaining makeup, dirt and also clean my pores like nothing else. One of my daily routine HG!
Careful with the bottle, because it doesn't close very well, and some oil can be spilled in your travel toiletry bag… easily solved by putting into my Muji travel bottle, and it is good to go.

I was resistant when my facialist first used this on me as I have combo/oily skin - and me and oil don't go well together. I ended up buying it with a bunch of other products, and since then have abandoned the other products but continued using this. I no longer need eye makeup remover as it's gentle enough to use around the eyes, and I I don't need to exfoliate as much because this seems to leave my skin soft and smooth. I only use it at night because I don't want to run through it too quickly. Only wish it came in a bigger bottle!

I am so thankful that I found this product. I went to one of the dermalogica counters in Selfridges, Birmingham. I had a face mapping session were he told me things about my skin I would have never known before. He told me that by using facial wipes, my skin over compinsates for oil as the wipes strip my skin. So that was why I was getting spots. So he recommended I use this instead!!! I brought from the counter for £33 but my friend is a dermalogica beautician so she gets it all cost price so I get from her now. I use the whole dermalogica range, and im so glad I found it that day!!!

I had considered this a luxury product and a bit of a treat, until it ran out. Now I've realised how much I love it! I enjoy chopping and changing cleansers from Lush, to Sukin, to Dermalogica then to NuSkin and anything else that tickles my fancy! A lot of these are just cleansers, not makeup removers ie Lush Fresh Farmacy.
Dermalogica Pre Cleanse is quite expensive (unless purchased on strawberry net)! but it's worth it's weight in gold. It removed ALL traces of makeup, even waterproof mascara. You only need a tiny amount, rub it around, then add a tiny bit of water for it to emulsify, then rinse. I don't really like the feel of the oil when I first put it on, because it seems counteractive to put an oil on my skin, but once I add the water and it goes milky it instantly feels less oily and rinses off leaving my skin feeling super clean but without the tight feeling.
I was planning on trying the Liz Earle range after this but I think I'll stick with Dermalogica.
I looooove the smell which is why I felt it was such a treat. How can something that smells so nice work so good as well!!
If you've got the spare cash this is worth trying. I'd even go so far as to say you could probably use this and no cleanser after, as it really does remove all traces of makeup and sweat etc.
This would be great for people who wear a lot of make up or stage makeup that can be hard to remove.

Perhaps the best makeup remover I've ever tried. The name is misleading because from my own experience no other cleanser is really needed after this. I've tested this by trying to remove the remainings of my makeup with Bioderma Sensibio micelle solution (another fantastic product) and there was NOTHING left on the cotton pad! Being an oil based product this also easily removes waterproof mascara. It is very gentle to the face and eyes and does not leave my face feeling dry.
I use it by creating the emulsion on wet palm and then spread it with my hands all over dry face, massage gently and then rinse (if I have time I use Dermalogica sponge cloth just to pamper myself a bit but this is really not needed). I've noticed this is the way Dermalogica professionals use this on me in a salon.
Lsat but not least, the smell is heavenly, it's like a spa moment every evening.
It is however expensive for the amount you get unless you're lucky to get a salon sized product which will save you a lot of money.

I love this stuff! It's pretty amazing. I received a deluxe sample of it in a beauty box a month or so ago and was a bit skeptical at first. I didn't really understand how it's supposed to "pre-cleanse" your face, not to mention that it looks and feels exactly like oil, which I would normally not slather all over my face. Nevertheless, I followed the directions and applied the oil generously all over my face (it's actually pretty fun to slather it on), then wet my fingertips and started massaging my face in circular motions to create an emulsion. Then I just rinsed it off and followed with my normal cleanser (I've also used the recommended Dermalogica cleanser after the PreCleanse, which works very well). My skin felt amazingly smooth afterward! Also if you use this and then follow with the Clarisonic, it makes your skin feel so smooth it's almost fake-feeling. Unfortunately I had to stop using my Clarisonic because I follow a pretty strict skincare regimen of retinol cream 3 nights a week alternated with glycolic acid night cream 3 nights a week, with 1 day a week for a deep hydrating night cream. The retinol cream and glycolic acid cream are both chemical exfoliants and make my skin bizarrely smooth, but then when I use those in conjunction with the mechanical exfoliation of the Clarisonic, it's too much for my skin to handle and it starts peeling. So anyway I stopped using the Clarisonic and just use my fingers to wash my face from now on (does anyone still do that anymore??). I don't think I get as much of the smoothing effect from the PreCleanse when I don't use my Clarisonic, but it still gives a noticeable effect and I plan to buy some when the sample runs out (although it lasts a very long time because a small amount of the oily liquid goes a long way). The only thing I don't like about it is the bottle... and maybe it's just because it's a sample bottle... but it just has a small hole in the top that the liquid comes out of and since it's a bit thick it just sticks to the plastic and goes everywhere. It's pretty messy. It needs some kind of nozzle or one of those flip-up tips with a hole in it so it's more guided when it comes out. Other than that, I love it and would highly HIGHLY recommend trying it out! If you love a strangely smooth, clean-feeling face, you'll love this stuff. :)

Dermalogica products are the only products i use for washing my face. I do not know what i would do without them. Precleanse is BRILLIANT. it is so soothing and cleansing. It's a good start to remove all your makeup, and i my face never feels clean if i haven't used it.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Dry, Fair-Medium Hair: Blond Eyes: Blue
I have loved used Cliniques take off the day balm but heard this was great so I decided to give it a try. It is great! The smell is so relaxing. I love oils but was worried this would be like you're average oily makeup remover that its icky and burns your eyes, but this doesn't. It removes makeup easily and my skin looks bright and clean.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Sensitive, Fair-Medium Hair: Brunette Eyes: Brown
This is a great makeup remover for people with sensitive skin. I use it every night to remove makeup before I cleanse, and it never irritates my skin. No more harsh rubbing and scrubbing! I just gently massage over my face and gets rid of all my makeup including mascara. I'm on to my 3rd bottle now. It is expensive but it lasts a long time. Definitely worth it! I also have oily skin and was worried about putting 'oil' on my face, but it doesn't leave any residual oil.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Combination, Tan, Warm Hair: Brunette, Fine Eyes: Green
Could not live without this product! I use it everytime before applying normal cleanser. Having a combination skin, i was a little bit skeptical about using this product (as it's oil based) however since using it the very 1st time, i havent stopped using it since! Highly recommend it to everyone with oily/combination and acne prone skin.
Age: 44-55 Skin: Oily, Fair-Medium Hair: Brunette Eyes: Blue
Thank goodness for FWP deals. I never would have purchased this otherwise! Absolutely adore this stuff. I'm using the precleanse, dermal clay cleanser & daily micro exfoliant and my skin has never looked better. Less oil, smaller pores, and smoother skin.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Oily, Olive Hair: Brunette, Curly, Coarse Eyes: Brown
This is the only skincare product I have fallen in love with and use religiously. I have fairly sensitive skin, so it doesn't irritate it, but helps it. The makeup removal capabilities of this oil is amazing, the ONLY thing that works to get it all off!! The smell is perfect, not too much or overwhelming at all. The packaging as others have said could be improved upon as I always have a small bit at the base of the bottle on my counter. I will never ever ever ever (I can't say that enough!) stop buying this!!!
Age: 44-55 Skin: Acne-prone, Medium Brown Hair: Brunette Eyes: Brown
At first when I read about the pre-cleanse I didn't think much. I figured my store bought make-up remover was enough. I noticed that even using the make up remover there was still makeup on my towels and my Clarasonic brush after washing my face.
I decided to try the pre cleanse. I love it. It smells great. It removes every bit of make up. It is oil based but when you add water it does become creamy and works wonders. I will definately buy again.

HG Makeup remover!
Smells wonderful, feels like i'm getting a spa facial every night!
Melts away all traces of makeup and dirt even stubborn waterproof mascara. You need to really massage it into the skin first to get the full benefits, then once you've added the water, massage it again before rinsing. My skin feels soft and nourished after i've used Precleanse and although its expensive I still love it and continue to repurchase. I find I dont need that much so it lasts a long time.As others have mentioned, packaging could be better, a pump o rdispenser would be handier.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Acne-prone, Fair, Neutral Hair: Red, Wavy, Medium Eyes: Blue
I love this product! I use this all over my face, even my eyes, to remove all traces of mu. If I really massage it in, I can feel some fink coming out of my pores like you would with a normal OCM. This has helped with my severe congestion and helps heal any pimples quicker. HG product, can't live without :)
Age: 25-29 Skin: Normal, Fair-Medium Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue
I can't live without this cleanser. It gets off all of my makeup, even mineral makeup. One of my favorite things about this product is the scent. It's sooo relaxing. This is one of Dermalogica's best selling product, and it's obvious why.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Dry, Fair, Neutral Hair: Blond, Curly, Medium Eyes: Blue
This is a good product. It's not a must-have for me, and I don't use everyday. I mostly use it when I have waterproof eyeliner on or when I feel like my skin needs some extra cleansing. It's good, and if you have the money, give it a try. But didn't really have a wow-experience with it though.
The good thing about it is that it really removes all waterproof mascara and eyeliner. A big plus in my book. With that said, it's not something that you NEED, it's a luxuary.

I've been using this product for some time now. I went for a Dermalogica face mapping analysis and went along with the products they advised me as my Clinique 3-step system didn't suit me anymore (I had difficulties finding the right balance between their no 2 and 3). I wasn't familiar with the Dermalogica system and was a bit sceptical using a pre-cleanser. At first I still wasn't convinced this step adds something extra but I have to admit, my skin does look a whole lot better using Dermalogica. Though it's hard to tell which step does the trick, I think it's rather the lot of them working together. That said, PreCleanse is easy to use, has a nice smell and a nice feel to it. I definitely like the idea of removing (part of) the makeup/dirt/... before using my actual cleanser. I think PreCleanse does just that, and more thorough than the average make-up remover. It's on the expensive side, but a little product goes a long way, plus in some stores you can order salon size bottles which come cheaper. Don't purchase Dermalogica in general if fancy packages are your kind of thing though - the outside is rather "sterile".
