This review is for the natural finish oil free liquid foundation. I am the color G50. This foundation is a beautiful medium coverage, hydrating foundation that is great for sensitive skin. I was worried it might clog my pores but it hasn't at all in the last two weeks I've been wearing it. I originally had the cover fx cream foundation but the shade I got then was too light (G40) and I could never get it to look dewy on my skin. So I'm glad I returned that and took the plunge on the liquid foundation. I have sensitive, normal to dry skin and this formula does everything I want it to. It doesn't irritate, provides very good coverage, and leaves my skin looking younger!! Bonus for us ladies with dry skin in our 30's.
The G50 looks dark at first and smidge too yellow but once it sets into my skin it perfectly matches my neck and coordinates with my upper body color. Lets just say my face is Lucy Lui (including some freckles), neck is Jessica Alba and body is Eva Mendes. So its been a pain finding a foundation that is tan with yellow to olive undertones and can cover redness/blotchiness, but doesn't make my face look fake. While most rave about the color range of this line, I think they could take it a step further and introduce 1/2 shades or shades in between their current colors. To me, I think there is at least a shade or two that could be in between G40 and G50, but that's just me.
I've applied this with a damp sponge and gone in with my Real techniques expert face brush, tried it with the RT buffing brush, and then tried it with just the RT expert face brush by itself. All of these ways apply it beautifully, but I realized I could save and not use so much product if I just used the expert face brush. I smooth on a light layer or two in downward motions and then stipple in extra coverage on areas that need it. It does do a very good (but not great/super) job of covering redness and evening skin tone. If I was in a pinch, I could run out the door without concealer but I never do that so I go back in and cover blemishes and freckles with Dermablend Corrective liquid foundation in Sand Beige. I'm really liking that as a concealer right now, even better than my Hard Candy glamoflauge. After I get one or two light layers of foundation on, I eat breakfast and let the liquid set (5-10min). Then I go back to finish all my makeup by adding in my concealer and then setting with Fusion of Color Aura Lusion Tinted Diamond setting powders. This helps blend and set everything and I can buff the medium/dark color into the sides of my face and down my neck to make everything match. (side note - these diamond powders work way better (for airbrush finish) than plain silica mineral finishing powders. Plus, fusion of color is a lot cheaper than Purely Cosmetics diamond powder).
This foundation is also versatile in terms of what you wear under it. It looks superb over Crème De La Mer and no primer needed at all. This gives a smooth, ultra hydrating skin finish and gets better as the wears on (for me at least since I have dry skin). I have also tried it under Weleda Rose Day Cream and used 100% Pure Luminous Primer. This gives me a more immediate matte finish but I know it will last all day and stay there even if I am outside under hot or humid conditions. I will still get a little dewy by afternoon and evening, but not as dewy with the CDM. So its nice to have options depending on the mileage and coverage I will need that day.
I also noticed that my face is very soft and redness is really reduced when I removed this at the end of the day. I like that and it feels like the foundation is protecting and soothing my skin. The only down side is the stinking price!! $40 bucks is a lot!! but if I don't find anything else then I will buy this makeup again because I like my face, neck and body actually matching for once. Lol.

Let me be fair by saying that I only had this foundation on for about 30 minutes...BEFORE I TOOK IT OFF!! For color reference I'd say G30 is close to NC25 and G40 is close to NC30. I heard good things about this foundation from MakeupGeek so I got a sample. I put it on, blow dried my hair (this is my every day routine which works fine with my UD Naked Skin Foundation) and then when I went to put on my blush and setting powder about 20 mins later my face looked like I had the foundation on for hours. I was already super oily. So needless to say I was very disappointed with this foundation. May be better suited for people with normal to dry skin. It is a medium to full coverage and is SUPER thick and pigmented. A TINY BIT goes a long way. Too bad this foundation sucked for me, I really wanted to like it. Instead I hated it so much I took it right off...ooh well.

I suffer from acne and have scarring particularly on my cheeks, I also have redness which covers the majority of my face. After doing my research into Cover fx I decided to give the natural finish foundation a try. I have used Mac studio fix fluid in NC15 for a number of years now and wanted to try something a little more hydrating. After trying the foundation in the shop, I purchased the Cover fx foundation in the lightest shade available and the sales assistant assured me this would be the answer to my makeup problems.
I have been using this product for about a month now, I want to love it but sadly this just isnt for me. It did not break me out which is a plus but it left me with a dry and scaley looking finish. The colour only looked suitable in certain lights and the foundation often looked cakey after about an hour of wearing it. I would not buy this product again and wouldnt recommend this for those with dry skin as it does nothing. So once again im on the hunt for another foundation to suit my red, acne-prone, dry skin...

Great foundation, provides awesome coverage, but doesn't really make my skin 'glow'. I also find my skin can get very shiny, I used this product while I was going through a terrible acne spell and it worked wonders though.

Great foundation. Best one I have tried so far and I have tried a lot!! First off I love the packaging..the squeeze tube is so convenient to dispense the perfect amount. The colour is spot on as well. I use M50 and i am a mac nc37-nc40. it has decent coverage, but not enough to fully cover all of my post acne marks. still great though as it looks very natural. LOVE!!!

This foundation is really great for covering acne or acne scarring. I really love this foundation when I first put it on, I look flawless. However, towards the middle of the day I am a COMPLETE oil slick.. I am a fairly dry person and have never really had this problem before. It transfers on EVERYTHING. So embarrassing cuddling with my boyfriend and then seeing that all my make up is on his shirt! Will not repurchase after this tube.

I have acne and overall pretty red skin, I bought this and was amazed that it covered all of my acne without concealer! The only problem is my skin is super oily and no matter what powder I try i still become super duper oily and this slips off on my skin by lunch and then I look like an oil slick for the rest of the day. Also it doesnt oxidize badly and that is a huge plus for me! My shade is E0, it looked perfect in the store bit it is a bit too light for me especially now that i have black hair and it makes me look a bit paler then usual. I do like the coverage alot but sometimes it can look a bit cakey but overall it has awesome coverage just a bit on the pricey side, mine was 45$ Canadian.

I've bought two bottles of this stuff and have been using it for around two years. I suffered from extreme acne and this has been my trusted companion. I asked the doctor what makeup I could use to cover the scars that wouldnt promote acne and he said "anything that is water-based" I did some research and found this. Prior to crazy acne that popped out of nowhere I never used to wear foundation... then when the skin on my face seemed to go to war with the rest of my body I was in desperate need of something to cover it all up. This does the job... I'm positive that it isnt the best textured, or most appealing foundation on the market but with this I can be sure that it is definitely not the culprit of my breakouts. It covers everything as naturally as possible and I do find that it can give a somewhat- "not-there" look. I've tried this to just put on spots and not on a full face and its worked tha way too (during a period where anti-biotics completely rid me of acne) I know if my skin ever clears though... I'm going to try something new because I just want the freedom too. But this foundation has been good to me, saved me from a lot of embarassing moments and does a pretty good job of covering dry, scabby patches that are a result of retin-a. I apply it with clean fingers but I find if there's a particularly bad bump that needs to be covered a makeup-sponge works well. Also this stuff lasts forever... the price is crazy $42 Canadian but it lasts ages (on average 8-9 months)

I have been using this foundation for about 6 years and suffice to say it is my HG foundation. The Cover FX line has the most outstanding spectrum of foundation colours and for that, I am grateful. The Natural FX particularly is water-based which is key since my skin is sensitive to oil-based products, it hydrates well, and blends exceptionally well with the yellow undertones of my skin. To maintain its staying power, I recommend coupling it with any of the Cover FX primers (Clear Prep is my favourite) and the line's translucent powder - used to also tone down some of that dewiness.

I just want to clarify something based on the below comments. Natural Fx refers to the coverage and finish of the foundation NOT the ingredients. Natural ingredients especially plant based ones tend to be irritating to sensitive and acne prone skin and since cover fx brand caters to this skin type and is by a dermatologist it wouldn't contain those potential plant based irritants.
M60 is a great match for my nc42 skin. The coverage is light to meduim. The product consistency is not runny but not thick either. Without a powder the finish is dewy. I always set with a translucent powder.
I have very oily skin and it last about five hours before it starts to fade on my oilier spots. Touch ups with powder are needed every 5 hrs to blot oil.
No breakouts with this. It is formulated without acne irritants. The cons
are the price, its expensive and the fact it doesn't control oil well. But this foundation is marketed toward dry sensitive skin.

Normally i always say oily skin should still moisturize under foundation. I tried Natural FX with a water-based moisturizer (cicaplast - la roche posay) and my face was oily/wet from the start. This foundation says it hydrates and locks in the moisture and found that not wearing a moisturizer and just applying it to a clean face makes a HUGE difference. it looks sooo much better and my face is not oily and it stays on much longer. I feel like with this foundation it moisturizes my skin enough that i don't need to moisturize underneath. I really like this foundation, I'd say it's medium to full and very buildable without looking cakey. I feel like everything I'm used to doing with other foundations changed with this one like with brushes i feel it applies better with hands and i get a flawless finish without wasting product. I'm also very pleased that it does not separate on my face like other foundations tend to do on oily skin. So far no breakouts but I'll edit if i do but hope I won't have to (my skin is very sensitive to foundation and powder and everything I tried broke me out).

This is the only foundation that I've found that matches my skin tone PERFECTLY! That is incredibly hard to come by as a woman of color. I love the formula and the Cover FX line because it never irritates my skin or causes breakouts. It is quite pricey, but I think it's worth it. Coverage can be anywhere from light to medium-full and I don't even need concealer any longer. Sometimes I use it with the Cover FX primer, but mostly I use UD's De-Slick setting spray. I'm very happy with this product.

I've just started using this foundation, but so far I have nothing but awesome things to say about it!
I've just had a really awful breakout. I mean HORRIBLE. Going out in public without makeup simply wasn't an option, but my other foundations (bare minerals and revlon photoready) only made it worse. I stumbled upon Cover FX by mistake at Sephora but I just so happened to be bare-faced and so I tried some on.
The M60 shade matched my face EXACTLY. If not for the fact that I saw all my horrible redness disappearing before my eyes, I wouldn't have even believed the foundation was actually getting on my face. I used a sponge and just dabbed it all over my face and within seconds my face looked flawless.
Note: I did use one of the Cover FX primers at the store, but did not buy it. This works seemingly just as well with Revlon Photoready Primer or Smashbox Photo Finish, so I would dismiss the notion that it can only be used with Cover FX primer. I then set it with Revlon Colorstay Aqua Mineral Finishing Powder.
Three of the five times I wore this make up, I was working a 9-hour shift at work and found that I barely had to apply bareMinerals Touch Up Veil right around my nose about 5 hours in. Other than that, my normal oil-slick t-zone was nowhere to be found, even by the end of the 9 hours.
And best of all, even while wearing this all day every day, my break out is clearing up! I hope that this foundation continues to be as amazing as it seems so far, it will be my first HG ever!n For a foundation that matches my skin so perfectly, provides perfect coverage, doesn't get oily through the day, and doesn't exacerbate my breakout, I will gladly deal with the price tag.

This product was definitely a disappointment for me! I always stuck to using MAC foundation (studio fix powder or the mineral powder in medium), however becuase I know coverfx was a good brand for acne prone skin I decided to switch things up and give it a shot. This product was extemely runny and watery, even to apply it was difficult, becuase it was soo watery about an hour after application my face would feel SO dry and I would have that tight feeling-and it was horrible. I had to go home right away and just wash it off and moisturize my face. Im assuming because of the water base it just dried out my skin even more and it looked very unatural. So im back to using MAC-my advice is to find something that works for you and just stick with it! This product was extremely pricey as well. What I can add though is that coverfx is a great brand-although this product did not work wel for me, I still purchase the matte primer which I like because it has an antibacterial and works great under foundation.

This foundation matches really well and has very healthy ingredients for my acnegenic skin...But its staying power is basically null.
I have dry, acne prone skin and even without moisturizer or primer this foundation still slicks off my face within 3-4 hours. I can't imagine this product would go well at ALL with someone with oily skin. If you touch/brush your face at all it will come right off.
I've tried it with/without powders, primers, moisturizers etc. and nothing helps. The best I can get it to last is about 4-5 hours if I use absolutely NOTHING on my face underneath and powder on top, and even then it's cakey by that time. Wouldn't reccommend.

I love the powder fx and swatched this in store and thought it was just as amazing as the powder.I brought it home and am super disappointed with it.It doesn't apply easily and the color looks way different than the powder in e0.I'm hoping I can find a technique that works because i really want to love it but right now it goes on cakey not natural at all.I would get this from a place with a great return policy so u aren't stick with a 37 dollar foundation

I tried this product till the end of the tube. It was my first liquid foundation ever, but I tried different brand at the same time I was using this one. First, Natural FX work well for about 3 hours or so before it literally melt (t zone). I use a Cargo primer, the Urban Decay's De-slick setting spray and/or the finishing powder from MAC. None of those helped the foundation to stay. I would blow my nose and all the foundation would be gone. So I tried MAC studio fix fluid and MUFE HD foundation following the same routine a was doing with the Natural fx and it was PERFECT. I mean, no melting, no emphasis on my drying acne spot (it was another downside of the narural fx), real coverage of my acne, etc. In brief, I don't know which one I prefer over the MUFE and the MAC one, but they are definitively better than the Cover FX one!!
++++++++++++++++
I wanted to specify than I first choose to use the products (natural fx, cover fx, etc.) from cover fx because their ''trademark'' is to fit acneic skin. Then I find makeup gurus from youtube like Goss that really help me to understand the complicated world of cosmetics. There is one specific video that helped me and it is ''do mac foundations cause breakouts?''.
Goss marked in the description bar this : '' You can't trust any product that makes claims of being non-comedogenic (or the less common "non-acnegenic") because there are no approved or regulated standards for these statements anywhere in the world. In other words, no matter what a product contains, a company can claim that it won't make you break out, even if it contains ingredients that are known to trigger breakouts. With no guidelines or standards in place, even the thickest, greasiest moisturizer around can claim it "won't clog pores."
And forget the claim "oil-free"! There are lots of ingredients that can make skin feel greasy that aren't listed as oils.'' And this is true!! It really s*cks.
Sooo, no Natural FX for me :)
Next time I'll ask for a sample before I buy!!

My search for the perfect foundation is over, This is it. Evens out my skin, doesn't break me out, and packaging is convenient. It comes in a tube, easy to dispense, no messy spills. I dot a few dots over my face and buff with my Mac187 for light coverage to even out my skin tone. I apply with a sponge or fingers on days where more coverage is needed. Set with powder or Mac msf. This consistency is thick, but it spreads without caking.

I have rosacea and extremely sensitive skin, and I dislike having anything heavy on my face. As such, finding a foundation that would give me a decent amount of coverage that still felt light was a tall order. Because my skin is so easily irritated I had to eliminate several brands of foundations, and was ready to give up on my hunt until a representative at Sephora recommended this! The texture is smooth, and in conjunction with primer is very easy to apply and blend. It feels so light and like I am wearing nothing, yet the coverage is great. I set this with Setting FX and I get a flawless finish.
