This is my must have foundation! I am OBSESSED with it. It's easy to apply whether you use your fingers, beauty blender or a brush. It has the best coverage and staying power. I get so many compliments when I wear this foundation - I am a shift worker and I do night shift and honestly it stays put all night! I find it must be set with a powder to give it that full coverage look. I love a matte finish and this foundation is just amazing! I have used this for years and I will never ever end my love affair. I have tried so many other foundations...you name it, I've tried it and I just cannot find anything that compares. Make sure you get matched at a counter for the right colour because it's too expensive to have the wrong shade. I think it's worth the price because if you wear makeup every day then you definitely get your moneys worth from it. Plus, you'll get a million compliments too!

This has to be THE best foundation I've ever tried, I'm already on my third tube! My skin's very temperamental - either really clear or really red and blotchy after I've applied my moisturiser. When it's good I don't bother with foundation and just stick to bronzer. When it's bad I need something heavy duty, with great coverage - this is just the thing! It goes on really smoothly, covers up every blemish without being too heavy and leaves a beautiful glow. I also have quite dry skin and find lots of foundations can leave my skin looking flakey by the end of the day, but this doesn't at all. The colour (Sand Beige) is also perfect for warming my medium-toned skin. Only negatives would be that it is pretty pricey, and I don't feel like I'm getting everything out of the tube towards the end - but these things definitely wouldn't stop me purchasing again.

Pros of this foundation! 1) it's super light weight so u dont have to worry about it being Cakey! As opposed to my Chanel Matt Lumiere which was sooooo thick, this foundation makes my skin looks healthier n cleaner, I would say, and I love it. A little goes a LONG LONG way, I set it in with my bare minerals mineral view powder and it looks amazing on the whole day! :D the cons-> hmm, no SPF In built the foundation!:((

This is basically the foundation I run to, time after time. I've tried MANY and yet I always come back to this one. It is a great all-rounder for most skin types, except for very oily and very dry. I am very picky about foundation, as I have a combination skin type with larger pores in the center of my face, an oily T-zone, but with random flaky bits around my cheeks, nose, and eyebrows. No, this is not going to have the durability and lasting power of something like EL Double Wear or Revlon Colorstay. However, the beauty of this product is the flawless, creamy airbrushed finish this gives, especially paired with a damp Beauty Blender sponge. It sets to a satin finish. It does have quite full coverage, so I wouldn't recommend it to someone looking for a super natural look. Set with powder, and I am good for a few hours before I feel the need to touch up. If I need to wear foundation for more than 8 or so hours, I usually will just remove this from my nose and chin and re-do it, but it remains flawless everywhere else. When I set this with powder and setting spray, I am good for most of the day and I get many compliments on my skin when wearing this. I also get NO breakouts from this which is unprecedented, if anything my skin looks better at the end of the day. My only complaint is the rather limited shade range, I have to mix Rose Ivory and Soft Ivory to get a neutral fair color with beige-ish undertones, since the Cream Ivory is too yellow for me. I am NC15 in MAC, MUFE Mat Velvet #20, Revlon Colorstay Buff. I hope this review helped someone wondering whether to get it, I say do it. =)

Possibly THE worst foundation I have ever used. Granted, this foundation is amazing to apply. It's smooth, creamy and very easy to blend. It is easily layered to full coverage without looking too cakey. One of the few high coverage foundations which gives a very natural finish to the skin, not matte but not dewy. But that's where the good things end for me, unfortunately. This is the only foundation that manages to literally MELT off my face. I live in quite a humid climate which might be the reason, but this foundation caked and melted off my face within 10 minutes of being outside. I wouldn't mind if maybe only the top layers caked and only after a good amount of time, but every single layer I diligently made sure to blend into my skin melted off to leave my bare skin exposed underneath before I even left the house! It was absolutely nasty and I had to rush back in to do my makeup all over again. I tried a couple of times, changing the way I applied the foundation, how much I used, primer/no primer, etc, but to no avail. I was not oily when this happened, it was merely the heat and humidity that caused it to melt off. For a foundation that only looks flawless when just applied, you could not pay me to use it! Possibly only good for dryer skins or colder weather.

HG.
Cashew beige is the perfect color for me (I'm NC35-NC40 depending on the time of year). It is yellow toned without being peachy (a problem I find with a lot of MAC's NC colors) and beige without being ashy.
The coverage is full but flexible. A little goes a very long way, and just a pea-sized amount gives me enough coverage that I can get away without using concealer on my rather dark post-acne pigmentation.
I find that applying it with my fingers keeps the finish looking natural. When I use my RT buffing brush the coverage is much fuller. I haven't tried using at traditional paddle-shaped foundation brush, but I can imagine it might get a little streaky.
When I wear this with a primer I only get a little shiny a few hours into the day, which is a bit of a miracle for my incredibly oily skin. But what makes this foundation really special is the way it handles my oiliness. While a lot of other foundations separate on my face and become patchy when my oils break through, Silk Creme continues to wear evenly and smoothly- I just look sheeny. A couple dabs with a blotting sheet and I'm good.
Packaging is a plus as well. Squeezy tubes are my favorite- easy and hygienic.
Overall: worth the money! Highly recommended.

So I have read some really good things about this product and I really wanted to try it. I was running out of my Kat Von D Lock it foundation and so I thought why not. I went to Nordstrom and she matched me to Sand Beige. She applied it and said use your fingers or a sponge. I always use my Beauty Blended anyway. I loved the way it went on and right away thought this was a score. It does have GREAT coverage and such a natural feel on. The reason I gave it a 3 is because it gave me little tiny bumps all over my face. I haven't done anything different in my daily regimen other than this. I would have wished this could be my HG foundation but no. :(
Unfortunately I will not be repurchasing.

Love! Love! Love! This foundation has the coverage to cover anything but still looks natural. It works well with dry skin. It last all day with minimum touch up.

Only cream foundation that I owned. I had a hard time figuring out the best ways to apply this. However, after reading many many reviews, I think I had find a way for it to work on my skin.
After moisturising, using LM Foundation primer as a base, I squeezed out a drop on my fore and middle fingers to warm it up by rubbing together then rubbed it onto my skin. For my whole face, I used about 4 drops. (despite many users said that they only use one drop, it simply not enough for me).
After rubbing it, i used beauty blender to lightly bounced off my face. Finishing it off with my Chanel loose powder.
I am very happy with the result as it last me till mid afternoon (in the humid singapore weather).

I just don't care for the finished look of this foundation. Although it feels luxurious on, the final results weren't what I expected. This foundation gave me a pasty look even though I used the correct shade for my skintone. I totally love Laura and what she has done for the cosmetic world, but I think it would be great if she'd give the formula another try. Her tinted moisturizer rocks, so maybe she'll hit it with her next foundation.

i have been hearing amazing reviews about this foundation so i decided to go try it out. The lady gave me a tester size of it to try out before i brought it. I have tried it out but using another foundation underneath and only a tiny bit of the laura mercier on top so i wouldnt waste it... today i was getting ready and i saw my little jar with the foundation in and i decided i was going to wear it for a day with out any primer only anti shine face cream which usually keeps my face matte all day as i have combination to oily skin. The results were amazing at first it felt so light weight and i LOVED IT!!! i set it with my Australis fresh and flawless powder and then dusted a tiny bit of my MAC mineralized skin finish natural on top.. as i noticed maybe an hour of wearing it my face started to get very shiny and greasy and through out the day my face looked so oily! i don't know why maybe its because i didn't wear a primer but i don't really like wearing primers when i'm going to school. I was really looking forward to buying this foundation but i'm not so sure now, unless i find a different way to wear it and it not making me look so OILY i might re consider buying it.

I bought this foundation after reading good reviews but unfortunately it just didn't work on my skin. It made my skin look and feel more oily even when powdered thus didn't last very long, it would last about 3 hours on me.
I wouldn't re-purchase this product only because I didn't like how it felt on my skin but i would recommend it to someone without oily skin who likes a dewy finish and a medium coverage.

A small amount and a light touch are all you need.
A small amount and a light touch are all you need.
A small amount and a light touch are all you need.
Shall I repeat myself?
I'm a 42-year-old Latina with decent skin (early maturity, moderate fine lines and redness, combination and sensitive type). I'd characterize Silk Creme Foundation as a highly pigmented, heavy coverage tinted moisturizer with a beautiful, amazingly natural, skin-like finish. Wear is good: I've worn this makeup from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm with minimal touch-up.
The soft, natural matte finish remains moist on the face and never completely dries down, even with powder. Thise makeup transfers a lot, and probably wouldn't hold up well during exercise or other activity. Coverage is impressive. No concealer needed. The color Cream Ivory is a perfect match for my complexion, fair yet warm.
The key to application is the right amount. More than a little and less than too much. A thin application gets "patchy" and a thick application cakes. The happy medium is superlative. For me, the best application is stippling a pea size dab of product over the center of my face and slowly blending outward. Sometimes I use a duo fiber brush, sometimes I use a kabuki brush. I prep my skin with sunscreen and a thin layer of tinted moisturizer first. I touch it with a little powder but it never really sets well.
This is worth the purchase price. Very much "my skin but better." Minimal maintenance needed. I wish it were more affordable, but the color, finish, and coverage make this a HG for me.

Oh man...
I tried this on in store and opted to purchase, but when I got home I already questioned my decision as the product just "sits" wrong on my skintype.
I'm mid 30's and decided to try a foundation with more coverage then my current Smashbox BB Cream. This seems to provide coverage but not without the cost of emphasizing every pore and wrinkle on my face. I literally looked 10 years older. It brought up wrinkles I didn't even know I had. And sets in quite deep to laugh lines and under eye lines. I tried various forms of application...fingers being the worst, and brush being a bit better, but still overall just a mess. The only thing good I have to say would be the shade was a nice fit for my medium/olive skin tone.
It also smears off quite easily especially upon application. Will be going back to BB cream and wished I hadn't wasted the money.

This my third attempt with a Laura Mercier foundation. I read so many positive reviews on this one I decided to try it out. It had been awhile since I opted for a cream foundation. I have found that cream foundations work well for me when my skin becomes oily due to hormones.
The color selection is rather dismal and I ended up ordering it in Cream Ivory, which I believe is the lightest shade. I was worried that the other shades would be too pink.
The packaging is nice. I like the tube quite a bit. The consistency is really creamy and smooth.
I noticed the smell right away. It's a chemically 'old lady' type of smell...almost musty.
When trying it on my hand initially, it blended beautifully, so I was super excited to use it.
The results when I applied it to my face however, we're drastically different. I found that it didn't blend into my skin, no matter what I used to apply it. It kind of sits on top of the face. It seems to accentuate my pores and settle into fine lines. It is completely impossible for me to wear it during the day. I learned that the hard way the day after I received it and I applied it in the morning to toto work. Under fluorescent lights in the office, I looked SO much older and my skin looked dry and unnatural.
The finish is really really matte. More matte than what I've become comfortable with. The color itself is very yellow on my skin and I have yellow under tones. It looks very much like caked on foundation, even if I use the smallest amount.
I've used it here and there, but its rare and far between. I'm not sure who this foundation is good for since it seems so drawn to accentuating the problems you're trying to correct by using a foundation in the first place.
The cost was way too much for the performance of this foundation, IMO. I would suggest getting a sample before committing.

Love this foundation. It looks great all day. I just wish there were a wider range of colors. Once summer rolls around The darkest shade in the line will be too light for my skin.

one of my top 3 favorite foundations so far. medium to heavy coverage. stayed on my face for 8 hours without my skin getting oily. IN FLORIDA! color matches perfect with my skin. i use my fingers to apply it and it works fine. i used to have some acne scarring and this product did an amazing job w covering it!!! 3 layers and i had a perfect porcelain-like skin. now my skin tone is even and i use 2 thin layers and it works perfect. when my friend saw me wearing this product for the first time she went to Sephora the same day and bought one for herself.

Cakey stuff! Doesn't look good and definitely not natural looking. I know there are some people that like this but I don't know why! I have tried using it a few times but I can't even bring myself to leave the house in it. I've also tried using it over the Laura Mercier radiance primer and it made zero difference. I'm sorry, I just really hate it.

I do plan on buying this again. This is my everyday foundation. The color match is perfect for my skin (Rose Ivory). What I especially love is the finish. It truly is a flawless, satin finish. The coverage is medium-full. I achieve a flawless, near-full finish with two light layers (a little goes a long way with this stuff). The only thing: this stuff has a weird smell, sort of like cheese. Weird, I know. But I'm willing to ignore that because in all other respects, this foundation is wonderful.

I really hate this foundation. From personal experience:
CONS:
I found it really hard to blend.
It settles into pores, lines, and any other crevices very noticeably.
It fades quickly, and ends up looking ugly and patchy.
PROS:
I like the sqeezey tube.
After first applying (though I didn't find this easy) it does look nice for about 2 hours or so, unless your doing any kind of outdoor stuff. Honestly, I applied this, walked to the local food shop and back, and I already looked a mess.
Not worth its large price tag.
