It makes me very cakey. It is so hard to apply because of the sponge.
The color was too light for me. I don't completely hate it but I just wouldn't purchase this again.

The results of this foundation can vary from day to day. If you use this on moisturised skin, a good primer, and good application, you can achieve a smooth, natural finish. The finish of this foundation is matte but natural looking. Through out the day, instead of feeling cakey and oily, it felt light with a nice glow. (It was warm that day too.) Overall, I like this product, you just have to know how to apply it properly.
Products I used:
- Olay complete moisturiser
- Hard Candy primer
- Elf Powder Brush to apply foundation (in dabbing motions, not rubbing)
- Elf High Definition primer (APPLYED VERY LIGHTLY WITH A BIG FLUFFY BRUSH)

This foundation will make you less break out than the normal drugstore foundations, however, after i start to using this i wanted to stop using foundation. This product is good, but it gives you medium to full coverage and i m not sure if its what i want cause i cant smile as i want when i wear this one, because it is almost like a mask. it is a little bit heavy for me. I have acne problems, but usually i dont have many active ones, instead of this i have marks (hyperpigmentation) , so i need to even out my skin tone. And another dissapointing thing is i really didnt think that a mineral foundation can have paraben and didnt check the ingredients list, but it has! so ladies be careful if you are sensitive about it.

Dont be fooled by this product claiming to not cause break outs...although is not as bad as other foundations i have tried it does cause some break outs....However the coverage is the best i have ever gotten from a drug store foundation.....It is that amazing....either way i had to sacrifice coverage in order for my face to completely heal....I tried mineral make up thinking it wouldnt affect my face and Everyday Minerals broke me out horribly....I finally found a mineral make up that doesnt irritate my skin at all and covereage is wonderful since i no longer have frequent break outs! I would suggest Meow Cosmetics for people with sensative skin like me....

I so wanted this to work. But it didn't...this foundation did not sit well on my skin. It went on ok, but after few hours, it was separating and cakey. It was very noticable and not attractive. It also made my skin look dry in areas; odd, since I have oily skin. I am glad that I bought this foundation on a major sale, otherwise I would be really annoyed!

I've been using this product for around 6 years so I figured it's probably time I review it.
Currently I wear very minimal makeup and so I only wear this under my eyes and over blemishes if needed. However when I first received this as a gift at 17 I wore heavier full face makeup and wore this on my entire face. It's definitely a full coverage foundation and does a good job of covering any imperfections without causing acne or irritation on my sensitive skin underneath my eyes. I always wear the physicians formula loose powder over my foundation which is necessary to prevent an oily appearance and to set it in place. Overall it's a good low priced product that works well for people with acne or sensitive skin but it can look cakey if it's applied everywhere because it's full coverage and needs to be paired with a powder.

Ugh. I wanted to like this but I just couldn't make it work. I have acne-prone skin so I have to look for foundations that are supposed to be good for your skin so this one sounded good. The problem was that it sank into my pores SOOO bad. I do have rather big pores but other foundations have never been so bad with them. I tried 3 different makeup bases/primers before putting this on to see if that would help, and it didn't. Neither did moisturizer, toner, or mixing this foundation with my other foundations. Nothing worked. It even made the pores on the very sides of my face stand out, I don't even notice pores there when I don't use foundation. Also, they only carry this foundation in a few select places, and in the places they do carry it, they often only have 1 or 2 shades. When you do find a place that carries a few different shades, they label the shades weirdly and it's hard to tell which shades are lighter or darker from just looking at the packaging.
Update: I now have one of those beauty blender sponge "dupes" and it's the only way I can wear this foundation. When I use the sponge (damp) it actually blends in and doesn't look cakey. So now that I have a way to apply it that actually works, I like it a lot better.

I was so excited when I heard about this product, but unfortunately, it did not live up to all the hype when I tried it out. Not only was this foundation (in the lightest shade) way too orange for my face, but it was almost like it never dried on my skin. Even when I set it with powder, it didn't dry or stay on the way a foundation should. The packaging is not very practical, even with a detachable sponge. The only positive aspect of this foundation is that it covers well without aggravating my skin.

I love this foundation!!!! I follow it with the talc-free mineral wear loose powder and get a flawless look. Also, when I wash my face at night my skin seems to be in much better shape than before when I would wash off my M.A.C. Studio Fix =/ I used M.A.C. since I was a sophomore in high school up until last week, (and I'm 26 years old now) because it was full coverage and I like the fact that one application of it covers just about everything. It is NOT good for acne prone skin though! I have always suffered with breakouts and even some that just won't go away but since using the Physician's Formula Mineral foundation my skin has been clearing up pretty nicely. It's also full coverage when you put it on which I like. I apply it with a foundation brush for best full coverage results and it doesn't take much product to do the job. Sponge applicator on top of packaging seems pretty damn pointless but you can easily remove that. All in all, if you want a full coverage foundation that is actually good to your skin, I would definitely recomment this product!

I'm new to using liquid foundation, so I don't have a lot to compare this to...but after looking over reviews for this one, I decided to give it a try.
I first got it in Natural Beige - TOO DARK for me lol. So I found Classic Ivory and it seems to match me fine. I apply it with a sponge as a brush didn't seem to do too well with it.
It provides good coverage... I had been using Clinique Stay-Matte Liquid Foundation, which is sheer coverage... and this PF one definitely provides way better coverage... I guess I'd say somewhere between moderate to full.
It doesn't seem to go on dry areas too well, though. And, for me at least, I do still develop shine mid-day. I typically set it with PF mineral wear talc-free face powder in Translucent Light... and then dab off the mid-day shine with Boscia blotting papers ...and go over it with the face powder again sometimes as well.
I do have to watch the creases around my mouth and re-blend those areas with my finger mid to late day because it noticably separates, if that makes sense. That is kind of a downer, but not a biggie.
Overall, I'll buy this again... until I can afford an airbrush system that I really liked and want to get... =)

I continue to buy this. It is thick, full coverage for sure. I only use it on my lids, sides of nose, and any blemishes. For under eye, I thin it a little with TM. HERE IS WHY IT ROCKS: the mineral formula is quite drying! So, it's perfect for oily eyelids and drying up a pimple(best thing ever!) It never irritates my sensitive skin and doesn't melt away. The color Sand is a perfect match for me, even though I'm usually medium beige in every other brand.

-the color selection is not so great but luckily the shade I have looks good enough
-I suffer from acne and this foundation does not aggravate it

This is, by far, my HG foundation. I've been wearing this product for two years now, and I ALWAYS have people asking me what type of makeup I use because it looks so natural (the last picture is of me, for reference). Yes, this foundation has a very thick consistency, which means that you have to blend a LOT to get it to look right...but I'm fine with that! I don't use a foundation brush or the ridiculous sponge on the container. I just use my fingers. This product has never made me break out. In fact, i've tried a few times to switch foundations and I always end up breaking out and going back to PF to get my skin clear again. I love this foundation!

This is good on days I need a lot of coverage, which isn't very often but it's nice to have it one hand. This seems to work well on sensitive acne prone skin. Even though this doesn't dry my skin out it does emphasize dry spots when I have them. The only thing I dislike about PF products is it's very hard to find the right color do to they're packaging and limited selection.

I've used every brand of foundation imaginable. This is my favorite! I break out easily and always feel that foundations are very heavy and cakey. I bought this when it was 50% off just to try it and it works well with my skin. It provides enough coverage without needing to be caked on. I use the attached sponge to blot it and spread it very basically. I blend it with a flocked sponge, which provides a very smooth and well-blended finish. I use a light blush and then a loose powder to finish and I end up with a very smooth and blended application.
I have only used this product during the winter (I'm in Wisconsin!!!) and I'm nervous about summer because I can get very tan, but I've only seen two light colors as options. Will have to keep looking for a match for the summer!

I like this, I got the Classic ivory which is their lightest shade, it is too dark for my skin so I couldnt use it. If i ignore the color problem, I like the light coverage that can be built up to more if you wanted. i have the one with the new sponge applicator which I actually like, it blends great with no streaks or marks. Overall not too bad considering I am not a fan of liquid foundations.

Overall, it's pretty decent. Definitely not the worst foundation I've ever used, or maybe I'm just partial to physician's formula products (despite the absolutely bizarre packaging that seems to plague nearly every one of their products--including this one). As many others have said, the sponge is a big turn off for me, but luckily I got a new version where it can simply be twisted off. It's definitely thick/full coverage, and since I typically don't need that much coverage, it makes a really good spot concealer for me. I do like the matte finish it gives me. Does a really good job of concealing, but at the risk of looking kind of cakey/fake. Really glad I got this on sale for about $3 @ CVS, because although there's nothing blatantly horrible about this foundation, it's definitely not my favorite.

I'm sold. This is a great product for those events when you want full-coverage, flawless looking skin. I use PF mineral loose powder as my every day foundation but will switch it up with this product on the days that my skin feels drier or when I need a bit more coverage.
The ONLY thing I don't like about this product is the packaging. Using the sponge applicator to blot it on would make you lose half the product!! I just squeeze a bit onto my fingers and then put onto my face.

I got this on clearance for $2.50... in the wrong shade. The box is for the lightest shade... but the tube inside was "natural beige". Can't return because it was on clearance. Oh well.
Even if I had the right shade, I would never use this. First, the packaging is AWFUL. The tube is only filled halfway so you must squeeze it hard to release the tiniest bit of product. It releases right into a stupid sponge applicator- 2/3 of what dispenses saturates the sponge, wasting it. I tried just wiping it up from the sponge with a different applicator but, the product itself is almost as bad as the packaging. It is thick and matte, which would be nice if it wasn't also heavy, hard to blend, and cakey.

I used this a few times but found it sunk into my lines quickly, making me look particularly cakey. I couldn't let it go as the color (buff beige) is absolutely perfect for me, so I now use it as a concealer instead. I'll probably continue to use it as such until it runs out or until I find a good, lasting concealer that matches my skin tone. If I dab it on my spots, I find it eliminates redness and due to the heaviness of the formula, it lasts all day without need to reapply.
