I am on my second jar of this and I have got to say I have seen some amazing results. My first jar lasted me about 5 months when only used at night. This face cream is pretty much only for people with dry skin. It is very greasy looking, so that is why I only use it at night. It does however give me a pretty glow when used in conjunction with some olive oil. Everyone comments on how pretty my skin is. I will not be without this cream ever!

This product feels very waxy to me. In order to apply it correctly, you need to rub it together in your fingers first to warm it up. After a few months of storing it in my bathroom ( which really doesn't get that hot) it darkened and turned even waxier.

I have been using Philosphy skincare products pretty exclusively for years. I just turned 50 and people think i'm younger. I can't say enough about what these products have done for my skin. The particular automatically shipped kit I use, is not available anymore, though they do have others. My kit allows me to substitute one product AND I receive a free full sized product as a bonus. Somehow, I ended up with this cream. Having loved HIAJ for dry skin, esp. as a night cream, I really didn't use this much. However, I rediscovered it last week and what a big difference! I actually think it has healed my hormonal chin breakout as well! My skin is so hydrated, I can't stop touching it. I will probably substitute this now for my HIAJ. You only need very LITTLE of this product...warm it up in your fingertips and press on. It should last a very long time. LOVE this product...

I can't say rave enough about his product. I bought it as a bridge to re-hydrate my skin before picking up the kit The Joy of Great Skin and I'm glad I did. I thought for sure that I'd never find another product line that compares to my Lancome but I'll happily admit I was wrong. I've been converted.
The cleanser that comes in the kid in and of itself is amazing, but with these two products together my skin looks and feels amazing.
The jar isn't exactly conducive to applying it easy, but it's a small price to pay.

I have pretty well behaved skin most of the time and use Murad to keep it this way however recently my skin got very dry and looked extremely dull - I assume due to the cold weather. I purchased this and after one use could feel a difference in my skin. My skin feels soft and well moisturized and it looks glowy and smooth. I'm quite happy.

I bought the When Hope is Not Enough Trial Kit Skin Care System for Dehydrated Skin Seeking Replenishment (<--mouth full) to try and combat this winter parched skin thing I have going on. It came with the hydrating cleanser, the replenishing oil, and this cream. So I used the whole kit together as directed. The cream feels nice. It absorbed nicely and didn't leave me oily. It has a pleasant light scent which I like. Unfortunately I broke out a little. At the time I was going through some pretty stressful school related things so that might have been the cause of the breakout I'm not sure. In the end my skin didn't feel any more hydrated. I still had these dry patches on my cheeks. In the end the price wasn't worth it to me. I won't be repurchasing when I use it all. Thankfully it was a trial kit so the tube is smaller than normal.

I am 34 years old (just turned-ahhhhkk!) and live in Denver. A facialist once told me that Denver is equivalent to the Sahara Desert as far as dryness goes. I believe it. I have extremely dry AND, more importantly, REACTIVE sensitive skin.
So. I live in the ongoing quest to find a moisturizer that doesnt make me react, but that also provides anti-aging properties I need nowadays.
Since its winter, I commonly find myself reaching for my aquaphor or vaseline. They dont make me react and the cold, dry weather makes my eczema go a little nutso and they help because they are thick and mild. However, anti-aging they are not.
When Hope is Not Enough sounds like it will do the trick. It burned a tiny bit after I put it on, but I had also just finished my first Micro-Delivery Peel. WHINEnough goes on a little bit greasy, which I am ok with. Now that it has settled, the greasyness is gone. My skin seems to be ok with it so far. I will edit this review after I use it for a while.

This moisturizer is OK. I have pretty dry skin and while this moisturizer did absorb really quickly ( a plus), it didn't really do much and I always felt like I had to use more than other moisturizers.

This is so good! If you have the painful combination of sensitive AND very dry skin, it's truly a dream product. The texture is a little different, it's like a buttery emollient cream, you don't feel wetness like you would with typical moisturizers. But when you use just a small amount on the areas that are very dry (for me, these are the cheeks and forehead,) it literally melts into the skin and immediately sinks in. And because it sinks in so well, you can wear it right before apply makeup. I love this product.
With cold weather, the dryness of my skin is tight and painful, but using this cream twice a day has completely resolved the dryness! And it DOESN'T STING! I recommend this 100x for dry and sensitive skin. The herbal scent is a little funky, but I don't mind because of how well it works.

This product has been wonderful for me. As soon as the cold fall/winter months arrive my skin does nuts. It becomes so dry that its painful on my cheeks. For the last 2 winters I'd used Cetaphil cream.. which works wonders for dry skin. My problem with Cetaphil is that it some absorbs, some sits on top of my skin. When I use it, it's greasy which I can bare because it relieves my dry skin. A few hours after application I'm blotting. NOT so with Philosophy. I bought a When hope is not enough kit just to try this product. I have severely acne prone skin. This hasn't broken me out even once. It does for me what Cetaphil does without leaving a greasy film. It also absorbs quickly. I will def be purchasing this as soon as I'm out. EXCELLENT for winter. I use it morning and night... at night after my EL Advanced Night Repair. The combo of these 2 at night has completely calmed my irritated dry skin. Soooo glad I decided to try this!
UPDATE: I think this has broken me out somewhat. It's my fault though. I ran out of a daily moisturizer and was using this for both. I will continue to use this for when the seasons change and my skin goes INSANE.

this product was better for my combo skin than the original hope in a jar. i myself do not understand why it worked that way for me, since this replenishing cream is cuppose to be more thicker in consistency and b more more hydrant. i used this day n night and did not have much of an oily problem as i did with the regular hope in a jar

I'd actually give this a 3 1/2 if there was that option. I bought this during the winter time when my face was really dry and irritated. I think the moisturizer helped to balance my skin again. But, now that it is summer time or maybe because I have been using it for awhile now I'm starting to dislike this product. My face gets oily, and I feel that it just sits on top of my skin rather than absorbing into it. Overall review: nice moisturizing cream but my skin looks dull, untoned and looks to be losing it's elasticity. I have found a few creams that can give me that glow and toned look, so I shall save this only for times when my face is extremely dry.

I have been using Philosophy products for 4 years now, not a breakout since! I tried this replenishing cream and its very moisturizing, has a clean smell I HATE heavy scented face creams. Its thicker than hope in a jar but immediately melts into your skin .. A little goes a long way .. I use it at night and in combination with hope in a jar and the exfoliating wash I have great eventoned soft skin.. Will buy till its discontinued

I have been using this product for a couple of years now. I LOVE it. I have always had acne prone skin and have been very sensitive. Philosophy's skin care line is the only one that has never caused me any problems...no burning, redness or breakouts. Last year I was on accutane for cystic acne and anyone who knows of this medication knows that is causes severe dryness. I would use the replenishing cream at night and the Hope In A Jar Dry/sensitive skin during the day..even my dermatologist was impressed with how moisturized my skin was looking while on accutane. I actually get this product from QVC, because they offer it in a 5.5 oz tube, which in my opinion is so much better than the jar. The price is $96 which isn't bad considering the dept stores sell a 2 oz jar for $48. I bought this cream back in September and five months later still have enough to last me another two months or so.

I have always been of the opinion that my skin was Oily. I just realized that my natural skin isnt oily, in fact is pretty normal. I was increasing my oil production by using products for oily skin. My skin tone was shot, my cheeks were so ruddy looking. I recently switched back to washing my face with Dove Beauty Bar and went out and bought When hope is not enough, because i do love Hope in a jar. This combination of Dove & When hope is not enough has made Dramatic Differences within 2 days. My cheeks are plump and hydrated and My forhead lines seem to be minimizing.... NOT one pimple either, and i've been using for 8 days (morning & Night so far) - It isnt greasy at all, sinks right in if you rub between your fingers and pat it on. Considering the tiny amount i'm using every day and night, i think this jar should last me until next year. I have to say, i love this product MORE Than hope in a jar. I am assuming i needed the added Moisure ALL this time. Works for me, and i Do beleive i will repurchase FOREVER. considering how moisurizing it is, i think i'll be able to use this for a long time....

I use this daily morning and night for now until I am outside and need SPF more. I am over 40 and menopausal. Tried this in the kit and I had such dry skin and didn't know it! This soaked up in my skin and add SO much moisture. It's just wonderful. It smells great and makes your skin just glow. Not oily at all just hydration.
