i love this primer so much! it was the first primer i ever bought and it was love at first use. i never used primers mostly because they make me breakout, ive been trying out some drug store brands and that was a horrible mistake. the NARS primer is infused with lavender to help keep the skin calm and radiant....i can never use anything else, it controls oil pretty good but doesnt keep your makeup lasting until the evening. overall if you need a primer that wont make you make out this is a good one

I got a sample of this primer & I've been using it for a while. It's oil free which is nice but it doesn't feel like most primers I have used before. Its kind of a liquidy formula that just dries onto skin and doesn't make you foundation apply a any smoother. It didn't seem to make my makeup last longer or do anything at all. I would not purchase the full size.

i did not like this product at all. Im more into a silicone primer and this primer felt like i was applying a moisturizer on my face. I didnt notice that it helped my makeup last longer and it did make me break out. i didnt use the whole bottle and from what i remember it was about 35-40.00 which is pretty expensive to me. Will not be buying again

I received this in a swap so I can't comment on the price.

I never been that into primers before, but this makes my pores dissapear and make my face so smooth. I do notice a difference when I use this.
But I don't think it helps with making my MU longer lasting.

I am very pleased with this primer but can't really compare to others because I haven't tried any yet .

This product is a fine primer for me. It makes my skin very smooth and seemingly pore -less. It makes my foundation go on smoother but, it doesn't make my foundation last as long as it should for the price. But I don't have oily skin so it isn't essential for me to have a primer in the first place. I do like this product and I think it is a fine primer.

Really disappointed in this product. It has done nothing to help my foundation sit or stay on for longer. I only use it now when I am going down to the shops or somewhere unimportant just so I can finish it and buy something else.

I cannot believe how good this primer works. I've only used it for the past two days and when I woke up this morning, my pores looked so much smaller and black heads looked smaller too (even though I wasn't wearing it). This is the only thing I've changed in my routine and I noticed a difference in my skin while I wasn't even wearing the product! I had no idea it would do this. Totally unexpected! I will definitely buy this again. Also, when I put my face powder on (that's all I wear) it makes my skin look so good. It doesn't look dry like it did before. Also, a little bit of the primer goes a long way. The first time I used it, I put too much on, thinking I would need that much to get a good result but I ended up wiping half of it off.

My cousinu gave meit a samplecool of thisul primer. The consistency is sooo watery. I didn't notice my makeup going on better or worse. Didn't really feel like a primer more like a lightweight moisturizer. There are a lot better primers are out there. Since it was a sample, I don't see myself wanting to actually fork over $$up for this.

I'm surprised this hasn't worked for other people. I wear this under both mineral powder foundation and liquid foundation. True it doesn't do much for oil control but my pores were really smoothed out and the foundation wore better and longer in both cases. It's easy to apply and the packaging is convenient. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones this product works for.

I had the white tube version.

This has to be worst primer I've used. It was definitely not cheap, but the quality was just horrible. It was like a runny liquid which left my skin with a light sticky feeling... it did not provide a nice canvas for makeup and did nothing to make it stay longer or apply better. It had NO oil control whatsoever, which is what my combination skin needs. It doesn't smooth out any pores or anything either... it's like a sticky liquid that does nothing for you.

The packaging was typical NARS, nothing special not too appealing but this white tube was just cheap looking... and the product inside was just a total waste of money.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone....

This is my everyday m/u base/primer/moisterizer. I love the orangey scent. I also like how smooth it makes my skin feel and that its spf 15. I give it 3 lippys for price because yea it's expensive but it lasts a loong time. Also, I give it 3 lippys for packaging because I pref a squeezy tube over a bottle any day and when I can't work the product out anymore I cut the tube in half and ziplock it. Inconvenient for toting it around, but I do my make-up before I leave the house and there is soo much more in the tube that I can't get once it gets low.

this is a vey very bad primer for oily skin tones, DO NOT TRY THIS i repeat do not try this, i mean i do have oily skin and i wanted a primer to make my makeup last longer, however when using this it leaves a white sort of cast on my face that i hate, singapore sephora does not carry this brand and i had to get it of ebay which dead expensive. but i thought since the youtube guru( theoutfitters08) always uses it and had nice skin and makeup onalways i thought why not give this a shot, so i did and it sucks, made me break out, my skin was so oily like a grease ball=(. not good.sigh i still have another tube of this sleeping in my drawer. anyways my mum gave it a try and she too felt no matter how you blend it still leaves a white cast on the face. my friend asked me to try neutrogena ultra sheer dry-touch sunblock with spf and this thing is ways less expensive and does a good job.it is oil free and it is waterproof and best part it won't clog pore=)

This is a review for the Makeup Primer in a white tube.
I went on a NARS purchasing spree a while back and picked this up after the makeup artist put it under my makeup. I wanted to like it - I felt it kept my foundation from sliding off the whole day. However, I have combination acne-prone skin and after a while though, I realized that my face gets really shiny not too long after I've used this. At first I thought it was just the summer heat making me more sweaty and oily than usual, but I switched back to my old primer (the Monistat chafing gel) and even in the blazing heat and humidity, my face is still shine-free. So all of this, combined with the steep price, unfortunately makes this product a no-no for me!

I will be reviewing the NARS Makeup Primer with SPF.

I received this from my sister who did not like it. She has very oily skin, and this made her even more shiny throughout the day. I figured I would like it since I have pretty normal skin, sometimes dry during the winter, and sometimes oily in the summer time. On most days, I only need to set my face once and maybe blot once throughout the day.

With the primer, I noticed my nose became oily very quickly. On normal days without the primer, oil only builds around my nose after long periods of wear, approximately 7-8 hours of wear. However, oil built up quickly with the primer within just a few hours! This primer may not have claims of oil control, but it should not cause it either. In addition, I did not feel that it significantly improved the longevity of my makeup; it only made applying makeup easier.

On a positive note, the texture is very smooth, easily blendable, and best of all, moisturizing! It feels great on the skin.

I will continue to use this primer only on my cheeks in order to help makeup apply easier and to moisturize my skin during the winter.

I'd stray away from this primer during the summer or if you have combo to oily skin. If you're thinking about buying this primer, ask for a sample first!

REVIEW FOR THE NO-SPF VERSION (white tube):

This is the only primer that works for my acne-prone, sensitive skin. I'm using acne medications, my skin can be dry or too oily - very unpredictable and can go crazy anytime. But this either calms it down or no break outs, very moisturizing too. Would definitely buy again.

CONS: no SPF. The SPF version broke me out. So I'm using a foundation that has SPF on it. Also, I can't find this on Sephora anymore and only available on Nars website.

the only thing i like about this primer is no silicone formula and the ingredients are pretty much natural. It also creates a fairly decent canvas for NARS SG.
However it does not provide any oil control or longevity for my foundation. the packaging is fairly good in comparison to normal NARS black rubber, but they price point is too much for a below average product that doesn't prime much.
I plan on using my current tube as my skin doesn't react to it and it is somewhat okay during winter but will not be repurchasing.

I have tried every spf oil free cream on the market and they all left me feeling like I was wearing a mask within a few hours. This product doesn't feel like you are wearing anything which is exactly what I was looking for.

NARS Makeup Primer with SPF is the second primer that I have purchased and I LOVE it.
Pros: it contains sunscreenwhich is vitally important for my fair skin especially as I deal with the hot Australian sun everyday. Since I’ve been using this (in Combination with NARS Sheer Glow in Deauville) I’ve received many compliments on my skin. This primer is the perfect base for my make up and whilst I will try others (perhaps the MAC Prep + Prime) I think that this will be pretty hard to beat. I generally apply this after my shower and leave it for 10 minutes before applying foundation.
Cons: Its a little pricey but ultimately I think its worth it. This primer isn’t available to buy in Australia which is CRAZY!! I purchased it from the NARS website and shipped it to Australia using NYbox.com

Goodluck :)

I have been wearing this product for a few weeks now and overall I like it. I really needed a primer with SPF because believe it or not I have never worn sunscreen if I wasn't going to the beach. So I like it because of that reason and it controls the oil in my t-zone. It's sheer and a little goes a long way. I think the real test is the summer.....I will come back and update, but may continue to look for some other product that does the same things and cost less.
Update: It made my skin to oily....I returned it to Sephora.
