I bought the "trial size" from Nordstrom because by volume it's cheaper than buying the jar and has more sanitary packaging in the tube. Although I live in a fairly moist climate, my skin gets dry, flaky patches that are most annoying. I wanted to love this moisturizer...and I just didn't. It smelled nice, the consistency was nice, but the performance was lackluster. Used it overnight and still had dry patches that would flake off during the day. Absolutely nothing special, and certainly not better than my CVS Olay Beauty Fluid generic knockoff. NEXT!

I have normal/combination skin that gets slightly oily in the T zone and slightly dry in the cheeks. I've been using this moisturizer for six years and I love it. It feels luxurious on my skin, it's hydrating and helps me keep my skin clear. (I get light acne here and there on my forehead.) I wish it wasn't so expensive, but sometimes I can find it at a CCO.

I've been using this moisturizer for about 6 years now...I was using it in conjunction with Moisturelush, which has been discontiuned on me, so now just SMC. I really do love everything about this cream, first the texture is very thick and rich but spread very easily, which I love. Also, the smell. Very fresh and clean. Not overpowering, which is important to me. Some people compared this to cheap drugstore, it's not! It contains many high end ingredients. It contains Sodium Hyaluronate and Squalane which are both high end moisturizers and natural fruit and plant extracts like Algae, Spinach, Apple fruit, Camamile, and Passionfruit. Therefore, if you're allergic or sensitive to any of these things, they will probably break you out. If not, they are good, natural ingredients for your skin. It DOES contain some fillers which Im not super please about, but it doesn't break me out which is a plus. I also don't LOVE the container. Wish it was a tube, I think it keeps the product fresher and more sanitary. All in all though, this is one of the few things that hasn't broken me out in the last 10 years, so I will stick with it. If you're unsure if it will work for you MAC online does sell a cheaper, travel tube which is a great way to try without the hefty price tag. Also, MAC does do sample so maybe try a sample and see if it works for you!

Finally I've now tried all the MAC moisturizers! I think this is such good value for money as i think £20 for a premium brand moisturizer is really reasonable.

It's much lighter than i anticipated, i thought it would be much creamier but non the less it does exactly what it says, it's very moisturizing in a light way, love the packaging and ingredients, i use this in the day and strobe cream at night as i find strobe cream just that tad bit more moisturizing and your skin repairs at night and the ingreidents in that support cellular renewal better than in this however this is a great day time moisturizer, and night time too, but i think this works really well as a primer for foundation too. All in all, it gets a 4 from me, i'd like it if the consistency was a tad thicker like complete comfort and it didn't last me very long, but it's definitley worth a 4! 4.5 if i could!

This product broke my face out in a rash and I don't even have sensitive skin. It's no different than Nivea, Olay, or other drug store brands either. Way overpriced.

Imo, this stuff rocks! Its literally 2 products in 1 for me!
The scent is actually very beautiful and soft.
The formula is so airy and creamy....that it just glides on effortlessly.
I literally only need a pea/dime size to cover my whole face, eyes and under my chin.
Its NOT GREASY and it has NOURISHING ingredients that moisturizes and FIRMS my skin perfectly.(I am not kidding. My hubby even says my skin looks killer and is so much softer than before. And let me tell ya, I have used many prestige brands to drug store brands!)

I just can't stop feeling my fac it feels so silky and very soft.

Plus, it doesn't give me that yucky tightness that I get from other firming face or eye creams. Yay!
The bestest(lol) thing about this..... is that I can also use this AROUND MY EYES and it DOES NOT IRRITATE or MIGRATE towards them at all!
I now can save boatloads of money and my precious time by just using this 1 product on my face! Yay!
The other bestest(lol) thing.... is that I can IMMEDIATELY APPLY MY MAKEUP/FOUNDATION right after application!
This works great under my primer and my liquid(MAC StudioFixFluid) or powder foundations(MAC Studio Powder).
Most moisturizers that I have tried ended up flaking and pilling up like eraser shavings....no matter how long I waited for them absorb.
But this baby doesn't pill/flake off and is not greasy.
I can actually layer all I want to with it and it just absorbs so perfectly.
Buying 2 of the On The Go size(1oz=$15) is actually a better deal than buying the full (1.7oz=$30) sized one in the tub!! And this way is more sanitary too!
LUVS IT too pieces!!!!
(But heads up, this does have algae.... which I have read breaks sensitive people out) I added the ingredients above

Don't understand any hype for this product!

Overall I thought it was just.. meh.
The smell wasn't interesting, it moisturised okay but kind of just felt like it was sitting on my skin.

I have combination / oily skin, so i'm guessing this might be better for drier skin?
I feel it made my skin duller, didn't feel much softer.

Not only that but the packaging sucked! dropped it once and the lid kind of snapped a bit. then it came totally apart from the interior lid, which also broke on it's own accord?

would not buy again. its just so so

This product is amazing! I originally didn't plan to buy this product, but after trying it on my hand at the MAC counter, I decided that this product is suitable for my skin. I was right! I have dry skin - to the point where I get dry patches on random areas of my face. Plus, it's still summer, so I'm getting ready to buy a moisturizing product to get ready for Fall and Winter. After putting it on, my dry patches disappear and my skin feels so soft! It immediately sinks into your skin, so you won't get that greasy feeling. Perfect to apply right before putting on makeup. It lasted me a whole day (definitely more than 8 hours). I bought the 1.7 fluid oz. jar for $32. It is a bit pricey for a moisturizer, but trust me, this product won't fail you! A little goes a long way so it should last me awhile. It's a worthy investment! I'm so happy I finally found a moisturizer that works for my face!

I've used Studio Moisture Cream for over a year and I've never had an issue with it. I only use it at night because it's too heavy for my oily skin during the day. I tend to use this cream in the fall and winter and when I have dry patches. Studio Moisture Cream does a great job of getting rid of flaky skin. I'm on my second jar.

I'm testing this product since two days now and I'm not really sure what to think about it.
I like the texture of it and I have no problem with the smell - it smells kinda fresh for me, reminding me of Fix+.
About the packaging.....I think a tube would be more hygienic, but still there are advantages of a jar...for example, it's much easier to get out EVERTHING.
To solve the hygiene-probleme, I took out a little of the big jar and put it in a little plastic container, the ones you can buy as "travelling containers".

I bought it mainly as a moisturizer which could be worn under the make-up, but I tested it also as a normal face cream.

Used as a face cream in the evening, after washing my face:
Easy and smooth application, sinks into the skin VERY quickly.
Feels very fresh and hydrated first, but after an hour, my skin started feeling very tight again.

Used as an under make-up moisturizer:
Applied on face prior to make-up application; there is nearly no difference in the foundation application than without the moisturizer, since it sinks into the skin so quick. Skin feels tight shortly after again, at least make-up doesn't crease or smudge.

As you can already imagine....this cream is not doing much for me, I think I'm simply in need of something more powerful.
Anyways, I'm not giving it a negative rating since I bought this cream mainly for using it on my clients for sheering out foundations in case I don't need full coverage or if its hard to blend. I don't really know now, if it will do that job properly, but at least most people don't have super-dry skin like me.

I think I'll edit this review as soon as I have used it a couple of time on others as well.
So far I wouldn't repurchase the moisturizer for myself, but maybe it works on others.

We'll see.

This product was not for me. I used this product becasue i was trying to find a cheaper alternative to *philosophies when hope is not enough* ans my experiment was a tru fail and my skin is now paying for it. i used this product for only two days note- 2 working days, i put it on rite before work and took it off 8 hours later. when i first applied it my skin stinges just a tiny bit but it felt truly great and thick non greeasy consistency. The third morning i after my shower i felt my face and it felt and looks extremely chapped. when i felt my face i felt i was touching some dry disguating sponge! i took it back asap and have repurchased my *Philosophy when hope is not enough* ever hear that old saying" if it ain't broke , don't fix it" i learned it the hard way. philosophy is truly the best. im a big mac fan but do nto reccomend their moisturizers!!

I bought this a while ago from the MAC counter. I normally have mildly oily but dehydrated skin, but I wanted something moisturising for the harsh and dry -30 degrees C winter when my skin gets a bit dry and flaky. This product did not work for me. The product smells kind of cheap, like the face creams or body moisturisers you get at the drugstore/grocery store. It didn't sink into my skin; it merely left a layer of film on top of it. Will not repurchase.

I don't have this 50ml one but I bought the travel size from the MAC warehouse sale (3$ for a 30ml) and the cream is in a tiny squeeze container which is great since it's not a tub container like the one shown in the picture. It goes on light on your skin and the smell is lightly scented which is fantastic. I love this product!

I was using the Studio Moisture Fix moisturizer, but it wasn't doing its job well enough during this winter. I live in an extremely dry and cold climate, and my face was very dry and flaky. I decided to give Studio Moisture Cream a try as a result! In just two days of use I had no more flakiness, and my skin felt a lot smoother and softer. Didn't take a lot of product, either. I've just been scooping off what's on the little interior lid thingy, and a little bit spreads around.

My only issue is that I have gotten a few breakouts since I've started using it (I've been using it about a week). Therefore, I am just trying to use this product on the really dry areas (cheeks, nose, middle forehead), and going light on my more break out prone areas of my face (which aren't as dry anyway because there's a bit more oil). I'll keep using it, though, because it beats being flaky!

I wish it had some SPF in it like my Studio Fix does, but since I'm not outdoors as much during the winter it's alright. I most likely won't use this during the summer months.

Age: 19-24   Skin: Combination, Fair-Medium, Neutral   Hair: Black, Relaxed, Fine   Eyes: Brown

Pros (this is my opinion):
-smelled like mothballs on my skin
-went on smoothly and moist, but dried to a matte-ish finish
-finishing made my skin feel smooth
-packaging-->if you find it's unsanitary, then you are unsanitary o_O I always use this AFTER washing my face so my hands are clean, too.

Cons (again, my opinion):
-not moisturising enough; therefore, had to use a lot of product, which still wasn't enough (cold/dry winters); skin was a little flaky, but EVEN MORE flakier with makeup
-price --> even though there are a few pros, the price doesn't match up

Other stuff:
I exchanged it for the Moisturelush one...hopefully that one will be better

I realy love this.
My skin is very easy to get break out.
And I was searching for the right moisterizer
for years. Spending to much money to
find a good moisterizer to fit my foundation.
I aways use fix+ before I put this
moisturizer on my face.
But this is great, love it.
Never stop buying it.
Finely I can save money.
EDIT: In the summer if you dont like to use oilfree moisturizer
then after you aply mac moisture cream you take a tissue
and blot all the acces of the cream wipe you face after a view minute
so you will take all the oil from this moisture cream out. This wil help you a little extra. Because the foundation melts easily from your face in the summer

This cream has been a god send this year for my really dry skin in the winter time.

I dont find it gives any other benefits for the skin, other than intense hydration. So you are better to make sure you have a serum that does what other needs you have for your skin. For instance, lifting and firming serum to use under this.

Hands down, the best moisturizer I've ever used. It draws moisture in from the air as you wear it, so it continually hydrates your skin all day long.

Formula is thick, rich and ultra-luxe...feels unbelievably comforting on skin. Perfect for winter, when skin needs a little extra moisture, and yet somehow not too heavy in summer.

This is a miracle moisturizer.
