Although not terrible by any means, it did give me that too-sharp, too citrusy lemon scent, which I thought would blossom and develop into something richer, creamier, more true-to-life, but it did not. Smells like a bottle of 4711 I used to have as a kid. Lemon blossoms... where is that realistic, delicious, creamy orange blossom/neroli I'm smelling in the air here near Orlando? Not in this. I'll pass on my sample. I like even lemon (the fruit) smell better than this. Smells fake and lemony. EDIT: had to wash this off. Wayy too bright, migraine inducing, too much lemon. =p

Spring in a bottle! It is one of these fragrances that give you energy and put you in a positive mood! This is a green/floral fragrance which is very true to the natural orange flower scent. The staying power is really good ( surprisingly for L'Artisan). However, it is rather one-dimensional and it lacks evolution and sophistication. I do not think I would buy a full bottle ( especially in this price), as it can easily get rather boring...

Not being able to find this frag in the 2005 edition, I bought the 2007 edition. It is beyond beautiful. It remains a fresh, true orange blossom from start to finish, with an added jasmine creaminess at the end. I am surprised at the excellent staying power and sillage, for such a delicate flower. I highly recommend you buy this perfume before the limited stock is gone.

love it, this must be the best orange blossom i have tried. Beautiful floral with some green and a hint of beeswax. I have gone through a number of samples and a small decant. I can't believe I am considering buying it, the cost is sooo high but its soo good. I can't stop sniffing my wrist whenever I wear it. Fantastic fragrance for summer!

I agonized over this for months, going through 3 samples of it and trying various other orange blossom perfumes (including Jo Malone's) to see if I could get the same gorgeous fragrance for a lesser price. I could not, so in the end I bought a full bottle, and haven't regretted the purchase, although it cost much more than I normally spend on perfume. This is pure happiness in a bottle. I don't save it for special occasions-- I wear it often, and if I run out of it, I will scrimp and save until I can buy another bottle. I have the 2007 version; since originally writing this review I have had the opportunity to compare it with the 2005. I did not find a discernible difference between the two.

For the 2007 version...This scent is the most incredible I've ever smelled. Oh my - HEAVEN!!! I received a sample direct from L'Artisan, and now I'm trying to figure out how on earth I can afford to purchase a bottle. I can't believe the $295 price tag, though. Wow. There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful this is...

Surely this is a lovely, high quality, special harvest orange-flower/honey scent, but to be frank, i am pretty sure that for me and probably for most people, the average every-year type of orange flowers would be just as sufficient and good enough for the creation of this perfume, especially since this would hopefully make this scent a little more affordable. Orange flowers aren't exactly rare, like some exotic orchids that grow only in limited quantities deep within a tropical forest... These whatever unique special harvest type of orange-flowers that have been used for this limited edition scent, imo just a silly advertising idea to charge the double price for a scent that would be quite expensive enough if it was priced as the rest of the L' Artisan line.

When I was a little girl, my sister and I used to visit our uncle's orange orchid every year. In the spring, we'd be running among the trees, playing hide-and-seek. We'd be enchanted by the smell of orange blossoms, the scent would even linger throughout our dreams.
L'Artisan Fleur d'Oranger brings back my happy memories. It is the sweet, tender, light-hearted and innocent smell from my childhood. I couldn't believe that such a scent would exist before I opened the bottle. Thank you, L'Artisan, well done!
PS: L'Artisan Fleur d'Oranger has little to do with Jo Malone Orange blossom. I love both, but they are not the same, unlike what TS said in Perfume, the Guide

I absolutely love Orange Blossoms, and Fleur d'Oranger (I have a decant of the 2007) is the most beautiful, perfect one I've ever had the joy to smell.
It's delectably gorgeous, beautiful, transparent, sweet, slightly zingy, perfection.
I can only imagine how wonderful the 2005 is, as it's reputably even better than the 2007.
I'm inclined to say that this fragrance probably really is worth the money ... but I can't afford it. But hey, I'm young, and I've got other jobs, and more education, and yet more jobs in my future, so I'll just cross my fingers that some day, when I can afford these prices, there will be another special harvest of Orange Blossoms, and L'Artisan can release its best Fleur d'Oranger yet ... let's say ... 2012?
Awesome, it's a deal.
I'll be saving my pennies until then!

I'm still embarrassed to have splurged so much money on it, after all this time. It is worth it, no doubt, it's sweet, creamy, it's easy on my skin, not cloying like SL, can't really detect much tuberose (gah), which is great. But I use it rarely, relishing only in private...
If this fragrance (any orange-flower harvest) ever becomes available once again in Artisan's regular price-range, I'll be stocking up and showering with the juice. Until then...

This is a pretty orange scent. I detect a neroli oil, possibly a touch of tuberose and orange groves in California on a sunny, warm day. It's very light, fresh, flowery and very feminine.

This is heartbreakingly gorgeous. True to life with slight green leafy undertones, this fragrance commanded my full attention from the first moment I smelled it. I didn't even know I liked orange blossom, but this literally took my breath away. Only a few times in my life has a scent created such an impact on me. Its a shame that there were only a few thousand bottles ever produced, but I suppose that's just the nature of a scent based around a single year's regional orange blossom harvest. Its simply one of the best scents ever.

I have never tested the 2005 crop but I do have the 2007. It is truly intoxicating. So much so that I am on the hunt for a bottle of the 2005 because I hear it's even better. This is worth every single penny. I use JM Orange Blossom for everyday and this one for when I want to feel special. I never ever want to run out of this sunny, happy, amazing floral. It's to die for.

Do you love the scent of orange blossom? I mean really really love it, and consider yourself very discerning when it comes to its scent? And are fragrances your passion (or at least your hobby)? Then you MUST have this!
This is THE BEST orange blossom scent I have ever tried. It's light, sweet, clean and clear...closest to the real scent of the flower I've ever smelled. Mostly a soliflore as the other notes are very much in the background. I splurged for a full bottle and am glad that I did. As it is a Limited Edition, it's doubtful that I'll repurchase again though - for that reason, and the very high price, of course!
However, even though I love this, and am glad I have a full bottle, I would not recommend purchasing this unles you really truly love orange blossoms and really truly love fragrances.
There are other orange blossom scents out there that, while not as beautiful as this, are lovely especially considering they are much less pricey! Coty Wild Orange Blossom is wonderful and while it's getting harder to find, is still a bargain. And Yves Rocher's orange blossom scent is nice as well.

Gorgeous orange blossom, but I agree with the reviews below that it is not distinguishable enough from Jo Malone's Orange Blossom to warrant the exorbitant cost. However, if money were no object, I would prefer this to the Jo Malone version. This is greener, and you can smell the orange blossom leaves as well as the flowers. The distinction fades within an hour, though, and the drydown on my skin is nearly identical to the Jo Malone Orange Blossom. Lovely fragrance, but not one that I will own (unless someone happens to give it to me)!

I almost feel obligated to review this being that I recently purchased a bottle just a few short days ago. I thought this was extinct and put it out of my mind. Why dwell on something that can never be? Ahhh...then someone posted a link to Neimans which I of course had to check out. To my amazement there were bottles available of this glorious fragrance! I had regretted not buying this when I had the chance. I do love orange blossoms and this is a memory in a bottle for me. My boys were infant/toddlers when we lived in FL and we would pick the orange blossoms off our trees and enjoy the aroma in the winds. FdO isn't complex or even that long lasting but it is the truest orange blossom scent to me. I was just about to purchase Le Labo Fleur d'Oranger when I ran across the link so I take it as fate and will happily enjoy my bottle!

This is definitely a lovely orange blossom, no doubt, but for price, availability, and yes, loveliness, there's no reason to reach for this over Jo Malone's Orange Blossom or the new Yves Rocher Fleur d'Oranger (which costs €5 for 30 mL-- L'artisan's is €190 for 100 mL. That's more than 10 times the price!!!) and doubtless countless other nice orange blossoms. L'artisan's is pretty 1-dimensional and lovely, happy, and warm. But there is a certain bitterness/dryness to it which turned me off. Lasting power is average/poor. Only for die-hard orange blossom fans who have earned a treat.

If I like you very, very much, I will blanket myself in this heavenly elixir and hug you, and you will be enveloped in warmth and sunshine as flowers, leaves and fairy dust rain down on you. You will be overcome with calm and well-being, and your heart will beat just a little bit faster. *This* is what Tinkerbell smells like, and I mean that as a compliment.
My heart hurts with longing over this ghastly expensive and hard-to-find scent. I don't own it, but want to--and desperately. I wouldn't say it's especially complex or anything (there aren't a lot of notes--orange blossom, honey, beeswax), but it's so lovely and swoonworthy on, my own beautiful, wafting sillage brings tears to my eyes. It's a fragrance of happy tears, mirth, good cheer and hope. Sunshine and moonbeams in a bottle. ♥

Ah Fleur d'Oranger. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Yes, as some reviewers stated this IS orange blossom, pure and simple. (it smells just like orange blossom water but purer and cleaner? and more "garden" like). But it IS a very pure, fine orange blossom. One reviewer below stated (dissapointedly in this frag.) that she could get the EXACT! same effect rubbing orange blossoms "on her skin". Exactly! :) Everyone doesn't have access to orange blossoms and to capture their fragrance is (in my opinion) a sign of GREAT! quality in a floral fragrance. YUM! Honestly? you could probably get ALOT similar for MUCH less of the price. But if you have the $$$$ and love orange blossom, get it! :) I'd give this 5 lippies but I'm giving it 4 for the prohibitive price. That being said though, l'artisan did state that this perfume was made specifically from a GREAT orange blossom harvest previously in Tunisia. It is akin to a good wine grown in a year when grapes were excellent ..... you're going to pay more for it.

I bought a sample of this, based on a very poetic rave on a messageboard. Well, I guess one person's nectar of the gods is another person's "ho hum". It's all right. Not offensive, but it didn't transport me. It's nice and if someone gave it to me as a gift (haha, like I get those kind of gifts) I'd keep and wear it sometimes. But maybe I'm just not the orange blossom fan some of you are. That's ok, saved me $250, anyway.
