Hate me as you like, I’m still going to say that this was the worst bath product I’ve ever used. Sure, some things may have smelled cheaper but grey bathwater? Grey like floor-washing water? It took some courage to get naked and sit in that. Then I’m not sure which was the most annoying, the skanky ring in the tub and presumably on me, or the glitter that kept dropping off me for the rest of the day. Sigh. I’m not only still dirty, now I’m trashy. But it leaves yet more litter behind, in the form of a little note that says, ‘the healthy soul is in the healthy body’. Whatizat? Propaganda left over from the Third Reich? The condition of one’s body isn’t a reflection of their souls, you morons, and didn’t your mother teach you not to judge people by appearances? Yeah, well, your bath bomb is fug-ug-lay. Pfft. So there.

Too small, too glittery, and left my tub stained. The scent was a nice cross between a YSTW and a WND, but it was not strong enough to warrant this being a regular. I'll pass and put my last one up for swaps.

I bought this so i could dream i was bathing with Capt Jack Sparrow. Well it made my bath a dark sea water coloured with glistening glitter.
It was ok, didnt give me any Johnny Depp fantasies though as i was left scrubbing the black waterline from my bath.

I bought this bath bomb today because the in-store advertisng made me. Really. It promised me that my bath would bring forth thoughts of Johny Depp in pirate drag. Although I do not need any sort of product to fantasize about the sexy former Kentuckian in my bath, I liked the idea of a bath acessory that I wouldn't be embarassed to show my grandma.
Although I've yet to have dreamy black bath, I know it will be awesome. I'm saving it for a night when I'm all alone w/ a few candles, a bottle of Pinot and a few hours of alone time. Until the special night when I can have a bath with Johny, the bomb will be resting happily in my drawer of unmentionables. *swoons*
**EDIT**
I finally dove into this lovely last night after a perfectly tortuous medical procedure. I whacked the bomb, still in its handy plastic sack, against the edge of my counter top, to split it in half. I succeeded in making a large mess by- no matter- I pored half of said mess into a hot running tub and added a few drops of grape seed oil.
I let the bath fill up and stirred the bomb shrapnel around with my toes till my tub was filled with lavender-gray tinted, divinely scented water.
I eased in and relaxed within minutes. The scent was calming and quite soothing: not the overblown perfumey scent others have described.
After I toweled off, I put on on my pj's and went downstairs for a cup of tea. My mother stopped me on the stairs to say that I smelled good but inquired where I was going with wet hair and covered in glitter.
If there is a downside to this product, it is the glittery aftermath. I just wasn't expecting it nor did I need it to drink chamomile tea and go to bed.
Some people have found that this bath bomb leaves discoloration in the tub. perhaps using only half the product at once was how to avoid this.
I also like that LUSH Bath Bombs are "lady safe."

I have repurchased twice, though with hesitation. I will not go back for a third time. I LOVE the smell of this product... a great spicy scent.
HATE the ring of glitter and gray that it leaves around my tub and on my skin (I have a dry patch that this stuff loves to attach itself too). Reducing the amount used didn't help.

Use 1/3 of the bomb in a full bath with sake and a drawn fire. Reducing the dose cuts down on mess (I was able to rinse out the tub with a couple rotations of the shower nozzle) but does not cut down on the smell, which can be cherished for the rest of the evening, the next morning and remembered fondly until the other 2/3 are put to use. Don't blow it all at once; you will perfect the experience.

I will never buy this product ever again.
I hated it so much that I would throw it away even if I got it for free.
It made my bathtub very very dirty. I hated the smell. I hated the glitter. My bathwater looked just like dirty sewer water.

I was immediately drawn to this in the store because of the scent and the name. I was all excited to have a glittery black bath. The other bath bombs I have tried had a lovely scent that lasted through the bath and lingered lightly on my skin afterwards. This was the major exception. The scent was way too light and I couldn't even detect it after it finished fizzing. As other reviewers mentioned it left a heavy charcoal ring around the tub. The others I have tried didn't have this effect. While the water was pretty, the overall product lacked the oomph I hoped for.

I like the musky yet refreshing smell of this, and also that it's got glitter but not heaps like Fairy Jasmine, just a nice shimmer to the bath water to make you feel pampered.

Another great bomb by lush. I found the scent to be very relaxing and not too strong. Will repurchase.

Black Pearl was the first bath bomb I tried. I don't like strongly scents, so this bath bomb was perfect. It's a nice relaxing scent thats strong enough so that you can smell it but not overpowering. I have normal skin and it did not dry my skin out. I have a grey bath tub so I can't comment on the color.

This is my first LUSH products. I have always been curious about LUSH. This "Black Pearl" is fun as other LUSH's bath treatment product. The scent is light and delightful. I don't feel very special after the bath however. It doesn't particular moisturize or make you smell extra great afterward. It is just a fun thing to use for bath. By the way, it is named after the Black Pearl in Pirate of the caribbean. Apprently Johnny Deep likes it a lot according to the LUSH saleswoman.

I will confess to ordering two of these sight unseen, just for the name and description -- thankfully, when I actually used them I wasn't disappointed! The lovely, dusky blackcurrant scent -- fruity-sweet, yet with some depth and earthiness at the same time -- and the charcoal-gray water with fine silver shimmer combine for a very unique and luxurious bath experience. The scent lasted throughout my bath and I can still get a whiff of it in the bathroom the next morning. I adore this scent, I wish I could have it in a perfume.
Black Pearl did make a monster ring around my tub, despite having scrubbed it before the bath, but that was easily removed by a quick scrub with some baking soda mixed with shower gel. The one drawback of this bomb, for me, was the glitter. I was absolutely covered with it when I got out, and I'm not a glitter fan. But it's a small price to pay for a bomb that I love so much. I'll definitely repurchase!

I actually quite liked this. The smell was really good- lavender mixed with some other notes that made it smell very unique. It didn't dry out or aggravate my sensitive skin either. I actually liked the colour it made the water turn- sort of silvery grey. I HATED the glitter in it, and the ring it left around the bath, so I took a lippie off. The glitter 'stuck' to me as well, so it wasn't like I could just brush it off. Overall I still like it, maybe I might repurchase.

I tried this for the first time today, and I really, really like it! What a lovely fragrance. Yes, the bath water turned a purpley-gray, but it didn't look icky.:) There's plenty of silver glitter, but I thought it was fun. I showered after my soak, and 99% of the glitter washed right off & down the drain. I liked how it fizzed quickly, and left behind a fragrance that wasn't too strong. Lol, and it was husband and kitty approved too. I have to thank a lovely friend here who sent this to me (we're both huge Capt. Jack fans!)

Meh. This was the very first LUSH product I tried and I am glad I didn't give up after my disappointing experience. All I had to show at the end of my bath was glitter and a piece of soggy paper. I could barely make out the fortune it was so faded from the water. If you are going to a holiday party this would be for you because the glitter really hangs on to your skin.

Blah. My second Lush product, my second disappointment and not worth $3.95 USD. I used the entire bomb in my small tub. Like my first experience, this is a mediocre product with a non-offensive but not pleasing scent that left me thinking “That’s it?! What’s all the hype about?” I had been expecting the off-putting dirty gray color to my bath water and glitter and I was fine with this. Little did I know that even after rinsing off after the bath, the micro-glitter would still be stuck to my nails which is not ok given my line of work. The bath water didn’t feel soft enough to spend almost $4 and my skin still required lotion. No way will I repurchase, for myself or as a gift. Save yourself some money and find a nice bath soak at the drug store for $4.

How do I feel about this bath bomb? I would not buy it again, but I might use it if someone gave me one. I love the blackcurrant-lavender smell, but feel lukewarm towards everything else about it. It turns the water a dull grey color which left a minor ring around the tub (though it washed right off). However, I prefer bath treatments that don't require me to clean after a relaxing soak. Also, the glitter was more of a pain than fun. It got everywhere and stuck there, lol.
