This smell is beautiful :-) My mum wears it, and I love to pinch a little squirt when I visit, because it smells beautiful. It is a sweet fragrance... but not Sickly sweet. I don't pick up on the vanilla in this perfume, which is a good thing, as I don't like the scent of vanilla in skin lotions or perfumes. This is really nice.

This perfume has a mysterious, amazing smell that I cannot explain with words. I love it when I got out in the evenings, it just suits personal moments. It lasts, and it's not overwhelming, it is more of a strong but outstanding fragrance. It's not a citrus smell, it has vanilla and wooden notes that make it perfect for special moments. I would not say it is suitable for everyday use, it just has that evening feel. I know it doesn't make sense, you'll know it when you smell it! It is hypnotizing and daring indeed. It's just an elegant and precious fragrance!!!

(The bottle is beautiful too!!!) :)

This perfume has a very sweet scent to it and if you're using too much you might end up feeling nauseous because it can be overpowering.

Base Notes: Vetiver


If you like sweet scents with a hint of floral you might want to check this one out. Personally it's not for me .

Hypnose EDP - you are my Signature Scent! I have fallen in love with you :-) Ok, I have an insatiable perfume addiction & do get around, but this is one of a kind! I was somewat made to buy this Duty Free only because my other perfumes I wanted were not available - so I was forced to look for others. Hypnose had just been released, and the attraction was instant and electric! It's sweet, but not overly sickening - it's a classy sweet! It smells utterly delicious and I also get comments when wearing it!
I love the bottle, and the colour of the perfume just really makes it all come together as something quote Hypnotic!! I wear it for evening and special occasions - but when I need a bit if a lift, I will get my Hypnose and spray - I instantly feel happier, it's magical! Since my initial introduction to Hyonose, my Mother and Sister háve become Hypnose addicts also - you have to try it and you will be an addict soon to!!

I bought this unsniffed and I must say I was in doubt at first I thought the opening note was way to familar to elizabeth arden provactive woman but as it lingers to the dry down it has this incredbile alluring spicy punch to it that is heavenly and so addictive men can't get enough of I really like this a lot!!!

Honestly, I don't even own this. But whenever I'm in a boutique that has this, I have to try it on. It smells so unique. Kind of powdery, kind of fruity but not overwhelmingly fruity. I've been dying to own this perfume, but I haven't had the balls to shell out money for it, especially since I have so many other fragrances. Such a beautiful smell... ahh! :)

This fragrance is special, unique. It's definately my favourite one. It lasts for many hours. Everytime I use it, it makes me feel desirable and elegant. It's very precious.

I find it perfectly sweet, with something unique, there isn't other perfume that smells anything like that.
Not for anyone !!! The scent can tire someone more discrete, not me, i love the intoxicating delicate fragrance!

I finally received this perfume for Christmas after lusting for it since it launched in 2005! To describe it in a few words I would say it's musky, yet very feminine and soft, somewhat woodsy, fragrance with gourmand nuances. Hypnose features passion flower, orchid, then is surrounded with white flowers and jasmine sambac. And of course vanilla, but as others have said not the cheap fake version but a warm, delicious scent.

The beautiful bottle (which drew me to it in the first place) is apparently designed in the form of woman’s silhouette. The light blue of the bottle is also simply stunning. My only complaint is with two sprays it only last a couple hours but I shall experiment with locations on my body to spray etc. For me, it's worth it and has replaced my Hot Couture by Givenchy as my favourite!

This fragrance has been my signature for 5 years. It's a very arousal smell for men. Not one man wanted to resist. And oh boy, sometimes they could just stand there, smelling me, and not let me go. It's sexy, it's hypnotic, and it was love at first spritz!

Don't like the scent. It's too musky for my liking. It does have a hint if vanilla in it. Gave this to my mom and she wears it all the time.

Delicious, soft vanilla with a twist.


Very relaxing, perfect for autumn/winter. The ultra-yummy passion flower note is very distinct at the beginning. Then the scent settles down and all you can smell is vanilla; but not the sweet and boring type – rather a soft, creamy, fresh and minty vanilla.
It grows sweeter and sweeter as it dries down, but you can still just about pick up something fresh and fruity about it, which makes it such an unusual, delicious and vibrant combination.


Staying power is brilliant, and despite a lot of negative opinions on here, I find it easy and light to wear. This is an amazing fragrance l - you get a yummy, vibrant vanilla packed in beautifully shaped bottle, and this lovely blue colour... all these things make Hypnose my Lancome favourite. Definitely repurchasing.

This is my signature scent. the licorice notes work so well in this one. smells like clean laundry in the drydown. be careful bc for people who love it, you can easily handle 2+ spritzes, but when i sprayed 3 spritzes once, ALL my friends complained the whole freaking day and one of them got a migraine and blamed it on my perfume (i think she was exaggerrating but whatever), while to my nose it was light and transparent. they thought i smelled 'hooker-ish'.. also, like another reviewer mentioned, it actually gets sweeter and sweeter in the drydown. i loooove sweet so i like that aspect of this perfume, but a lot of people can't handle it, so for the sake of your neighbors, don't overdo this one!

A word of warning: DO NOt OVERSPRAY THIS SCENT! Got that off my chest.

Yes, this is a strong scent with headache inducing potential, however sprayed subtley, what you get is a lovely warm vanilla/aniseed type fragrance with a bit of wood thrown in for good measure. It is described as an Oriental fragrance. The lasting power of this is amazing. It lasts on my skin all day. I tend to spritz it in the air and wave my wrist through it. Anything more is far too potent!

Good for say wear. The bottle is lovely. Not for the trigger happy!

This is a beautiful bottle and a beautiful scent. I've had more compliments from this fragrance than anything I've ever worn. A blind man once sought me out at a party to tell me how wonderful my perfume smelled, and that was the exact moment I realized I had made the best choice with Hypnose.

It has a sweet liquorice smell that dries down to vanilla and stays really nicely throughout the day.

Have admired this scent for a while and decided to buy it a duty free after a recent holiday (for nearly half the price it retails at) it lasts for quite a long a time. It has quite a woody oriental sweet smell without being cloying. I really like this scent!

Simply put, I love this. I've asked a few of my guy friends what is one perfume they absolutely love and can't get out of their head when they smell it on a girl and most of them said Hypnose. So, one day I saw this at Sephora and thought " what the hell, let's give it a try". Needless to say that I spent the ENTIRE day smelling my wrist like a lunatic and a couple of days later I gave in and bought it. Ouch, 45 euros ( almost 60 dollars I think) for a mere 1 oz. ???
Well, I had to have it either way. Hypnose on me smells very sensual, modern, young and sweet but in a refreshing, NOT candy like way. When I bought it, I didn't know the notes in this one, later on I googled it, but somehow they have slipped my mind again!:P
I get an explosion of vanilla and lavender with a hint of jasmine, beautiful. It pretty much stays that way on me, without morphing, only it gets lighter after many hours.
Let me tell you, this lasts forever on me, has a medium to strong throw and you only need a spritz or two to scent your whole being.
I strongly urge you to try this out if you're looking for something different, as this is certainly one of kind.

A generous SA gave me a big sample of this scent at Macys. I wore it yesterday and as soon as it hit my wrist I thought... Guy magnet. It was so pretty. Almost too pretty. In its initial application it was a delicate unusual vanilla but not too sweet. I thought I would need to have a bottle. Then the unfortunate happened. It turned sweeter and sweeter to the point of nausea. I hate orientals that are heavy handed with vanilla and sweet things. In fact I detest them. I couldnt wait to shower so I could ease my senses with something more dry and close to nature. My beloved Prada Infusion D'Iris.

But I will say that it could just be my chemistry. This may smell great on others. I have noticed that there is some similarity between Hypnose and Ange or Demon by Givenchy. But Ange or Demon is much more sophisticated and mysterious and doesnt have that overbearing sweetness.
