I received this as an extra with some other items I'd ordered, and dismissed the colors pretty quickly as being garish and unwearable. I later gave it a shot, and was surprised to find that all three shades are gorgeous and look great together or alone. They're iridescent and have the perfect pigment level, and the lasting power is pretty good with a primer. However for all of these great qualities, I'm still giving it a 2 because it scores a 9/10 on the cosmeticdatabase.com hazard rating, which basically means it's poison in a pan. Bummer.

Although I will get some use out of this, it hasn’t been one of my better purchases and I’m disappointed in this product. Firstly, I know lots of people complain about Bourjois packaging but I generally don’t find it too bad. However, this container is hard to open and close. Secondly, I get zero result from these shadows unless I apply wet and fairly heavily. That’s the only way I get colour pay off and shimmer. Thirdly, I find the texture to be quite chalky and definitely not smooth and finely milled like the single eye shadows that Bourjois does so well. When applied dry this chalkiness means it doesn’t wear well and after a couple of hours it seems to have disappeared completely. I think I’ll stick to buying the single shadows in future. Definitely not a highlight in the Bourjois stable.

I quite like this e/s! I do agree with the previous MUAer that the colours are quite sheer (green, pink and blue), but I like to use these colours on my lower lashline to brighten up my eyes. They actually show up as green, pink and blue on my NC25 skin, as most other pastel e/s show up frosty white no matter what colour they are in the pan. These are metallic/glowy, but not shimmery or sparkly. The consistency is somewhat chalky and the compact is chunky for the small amount of product inside.

I have always been very satisfied with the Effet Lumiere Trio's. I've had them in 5 colours now. So when I saw the spring 2005 look, I was sold. I bought it, to be quite dissappointed. The colours are way too sheer, I can't even see the pink one on my skin. Not even if I dampen the applicator. The green and blue are very light and shimmery. Nice if you want a natural, joi de vivre look, but a big no-no if you're a fan of colours. The packaging is okay, nicely coloured, the applicator nice and soft. But the colours are a no-no. This is the first time Bourjois ever dissappointed me. I won't buy the product again, not even for free. Give me something better then...
