So surprised to see the negative reviews on this product! I have used this off and on for years on my stubborn nose area. My pores are large and clog easily, most products do not make a visible difference at all. This product warms up and feels good when massaging in. I love that it works gently and without irritation. I notice a visible difference immediately and I find it effective as well.

This is definitely a different kind of scrub. Most scrubs are used with water, but this is oil-based and acts as more of a massage-scrub oil. Once it reacts with water, it turns white and pasty so it becomes soap-like almost making it easier to wash off.

I liked this a lot since it did a decent job in exfoliating. The grains felt larger than most scrubs and there were less grains. However, I was left with drier skin than usual. But I was fine after using a moisturizer.

I just began using Shiseido products and overall I'm overally impressed. Especially based on the price. I have only been using this scrub for about a week to try and save my dry skin during the cold weather. It has shown a bit of improvement but this scub doesn't seem to stand up to what it promises. I don't find that it warms at all. I use as directed but it doesn't seem to do much for my pores either. If anything all I have been noticing is it works best as an exfoliant and that's it. I doubt I will buy this product again.

I've had this Warming scrub for a good 9 months so I've tested it out for quite some time. And I'm reading how other people are not liking this product but I have a different opinion from others.
Well first, I do exactly as what the instructions say. I don't wet my hands and face before applying this exfoliant on. I mainly focus on my nose as that is the area where there's a lot of black heads and white heads. My black head condition is not so pretty, like I don't have a lot of black heads but just a lot of buildups of blackheads in the pores. I.e. sometimes, I can actually (without squeezing) but just using my nail, and scratch out a full solid piece of blackhead (or is it gunk?).
But after I've used this warming scrub, my nose and face feels soooo smooth and soft and free of blackheads (or gunk). When you use this scrub, you have to gently (or moderately) scrub until all the granules are absolutely gone. And don't expect the scrubbing with take seconds. Work enough time in it and it'll work like a charm.

I gave this a '4' because the price is a little expensive and there's just not a lot of product in that little tube for that price! But it does work well!

I have no hesistation saying this is the worst scrub I've used. The title is misleading. It doesn't warm, at least not on my skin. The granules are awful and don't really "scrub". Hell, my skin didn't even feel smooth after using it. Waste of time and money.

i'm not sure if i'll buy this again. there are not enough granules in the wash to be a scrub....and it actually didn't even get warm...maybe mine is just messed up

but i don't think it's going to do anything for blackheads.

update.
this stuff is just overpriced and it sucks. there's not enough granules, the package is small for the price..it doesn't do anything. doesn't even warm. took it back.

I love Shiseido products, but I'm not impressed by this one. It's supposed to be 'pore purifying' but after using it, I still see whiteheads and blackheads on my face. Sure, it does leave your face very soft after using it, but for the price you have to pay (it's very expensive) I wouldn't buy it again. I'm also not impressed by the packaging of this whole Pureness line. It's drab and just does not look aspirational.

I bought it only for the 1st time and I won't be buying it again. It is a good product, but nothing that special about it which I can't get with any other (cheaper) scrub.

I admit, it was really weird at the beginning - the warm feeling, but it's nice. But, as I said before, not worth the money that much. :/

I have only tried this twice so we will see... however so far I am not liking it. It feels kind of oily and gritty. I do not like how it feels on my skin used 'dry' and it does not work with water. Such a shame.. I really wanted to like this. But I will continue to use this to see if maybe its just me expecting it to do too much!

i don't know if it's just me or what but this thing did not WARM UP at all!! It's not like most other facial scrubs where there are little scrubbies, this one is pretty oily and if you don't wash it thoroughly with warm water, you gonna be left with an oily face o.O! i finally managed to finish the whole tube after about a year of use, so it does last you a long time. i will definitely NOT buy this thing again, i'm sure there are wayy better scrubs that cost less than $22+

The only product that get rid of blackheads on me.

I never knew what blackheads really were until the Shiseido lady pointed them out. I always thought it was my skin being funny. So I tried out a bunch of products before I caved and bought this.

It removes blackheads from my nose which is great. But unfortunately you can't use it everyday (only once a week) and although it removes the blackheads I'm still not sure if it's really helping to keep them away because by the end of the week they'll be back. I've only just started using it though so I'll keep using it and see.

This is the only item in the Pureness line that I tried and wasn't subsequently thrilled afterwards. It did feel warm, and it did exfoliate, but I also get a good exfoliation from St. Ives Apricot Scrub, which is 1/4th the price. You might want to sample this before you buy. I plan to use up the entire tube, but I won't be repurchasing.

It cleared out my blackheads the first time and never really did anything for my face again. I don't find it warming or purifying either. Won't be buying this again because of the price and ineffectiveness.

I bought this product because the St Ives Scrub I have been using for years is really starting to irritate my skin, and I've noticed my skin is even oiler the next day :Z
Therefore, despite the price, I decided to give this product a try. I've never had any problems with 90% of the Shiseido products I've bought, and this is no exception.
It's not as grainy as I was expecting, however this does not reduce its effectiveness. I think because you apply it to dry skin with dry hands, rather than on a wet face in the shower. I also noticed it contains benzoyl preoxide, which would be really good for the blackheads (luckily I don't get many of those though). My skin felt comfortable and smooth after using this product, and I only need to use it once or twice a week (as opposed to almost every day with the St Ives scrub). It did not make my face really red, or leave any noticeable residue.

I really like this product. I don't know how much cleansing it does, but I use it twice a week after my regular cleanser. It does a nice job exfoliating my dry skin and leaves it feeling warm and smooth. It is gentle enough to use every day, but it seems to be enough just the two times a week.

I bought it because I hoped it would help eliminate my blackheads, but it doen't. What it does is, it warms the skin a bit and helps to loosen the blackhead so thay can be extracted more easily (I still had to do it with a blackhead extractor). And because of that I gave ir 3 lippies (that, and b/c it didn't dry out mu skin). Otherwise it does nothing, it doesn't help to reduce oilynes, it's too gentle for exfoliation, I sometimes get flakes aroung my nose and after using this scrub they were still there, so it's pretty crappy for that price tag.

This is probably the BEST scrub I've ever used in my whole life. I was using Benefit's Honey Snap Out of It scrub, and while I really like that stuff, it just doesn't exfoliate like this stuff does. First of all, when this is applied, it's applied to *dry* skin, and massaged in to each area of your face for 30 seconds. So it's a unique product, with regard to that. But when you follow those instructions, it makes all the difference. I also like that this isn't a "grainy" feeling scrub. The scrub beads are fewer, and I think that helps with not over exfoliating and irritating your skin. Simply massage into skin gently, a ta da! You have beautiful smooth skin again!

Now... the price isn't very nice, however. But... I think I'm going to have to overlook that bit, because... well... it works; I love it. It makes my skin happy. It's about $20 for 1.7 oz's. But oh well... this is reaching HG status, so it's well worth it. I've also noticed that the full sized version gets warmer quicker than the sample sized.

This left an oily residue on my face. Probably due to the mineral oil in the product listed as the first ingredient. Yuck! I have oily skin and don't need any more oil! I only used a sample of this and will not be purchasing this product.
